Subject: config
How do you get the browser recognizes the updates of the subject: configuration config updates
It's really weird. Changes to browser.newtab.url should be applied immediately. I just changed mine and if I open a new tab, it goes immediately to my new URL.
I ask: what was the value of this pref until you changed it?
If you open about: config is now the value of the pref showing https://www.google.com, or is he returned to something else?
EDIT: In fact, this article has a few troubleshooting steps that may help. Give them a go and let us know if they do the job!

How to remove all occurrences of Yahoo from my "subject: config ' file?"
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Somehow, I hijacked by Yahoo yesterday and ends as my default search provider. And, after that, the small magnifying glass where search engines are listed have disappeared. Firefox doesn't have to feel very safe!
I restored the search "magnifying glass" through "Customize", but I don't want any more 'surprises' Yahoo
The next four lines are copied from my "subject: config ' file." Are they necessary?
browser.search.order.US.1;data:text/plain,browser.search.order.US.1=Yahoo
Browser.Search.Order.2; Yahoo
browser.contentHandlers.types.0.uri; https://Add.my.Yahoo.com/RSS?URL=%s
browser.contentHandlers.types.0.title; My Yahoo! In addition, these two:
gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.uriTemplate; https://compose.mail.Yahoo.com/?to=%s
gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.name; Yahoo! Mailbrowser.search.order.US.1;data:text/plain,browser.search.order.US.1=Yahoo > default search engine. This line is necessary, but you can define a different value to replace Yahoo, Google or Bing for example
Browser.Search.Order.2; Yahoo > if you use the American version of Firefox, this line is not used
browser.contentHandlers.types.0.title; My Yahoo! > corresponding to the 1st app/site used when you subscribe to a feed
gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.uriTemplate; https://compose.mail.Yahoo.com/?to=%s and gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.name; Yahoo! Mail > these lines define the 1st element in the list that appears when you open a link mailto: Protocol (i.e. an email address)
To conclude, except the 1st line, Yahoo does not work on your computer, unless you specifically choose to use when a context menu is displayed.

Latest discovery by Google said even if I use TLS, I can be configured to be retro-compatible with SSL3.0 and a "Poodle" attack by a predator's Web site might encourage me to use SSL3.0 and be vulnerable to attacks. They say that the remedy is: "To prevent the POODLE attacks on Firefox, about.config open, search for"security.enable"and"security.enable_ssl3"set to false."
First mistake is "about.config" should be "subject: config. Second problem is there is no line 'security.enable_ssl3' not found. I don't know if I'm supposed to create the line, and if so, how do I do that?
Hello CPATRON144, you can disable SSL3 in firefox like this:
enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named security.tls.version.min. Double-click it and change its value to 1.https://blog.Mozilla.org/security/2014/10/14/the-poodle-attack-and-the-end-of-SSL-3-0/

I've tried to get rid of some plugins/extensions owrrisome and wanted to show their full path in ' on: plugins ", so went to set the preference of"plugin.expose_full_path"the ' topic: config" list to 'true '. But, I couldn't find there, and the full path seems already displayed in "subject: plugins. What worries me, is that you are supposed to disable the full path when you are finished, because it creates a security risk. So why don't I see the option "plugin.expose_full_path" and why the full path is activated?
Copied from:
http://KB.mozillazine.org/about:pluginsLocation of the plugin file:
- Mozilla 20 and below: To display the full path to the plugin instead of just the file name (for example, in Firefox 20), type Subject: config in the address bar and press the Enter key. Find the plugin.expose_full_path preference and change the value true (by double-clicking on the name of the preference will switch the setting). Warning: Expose the location plugin can have repercussions on safety on some systems. It is best to reset the preference to "false" by default, when you are finished. 1
- Mozilla 21: There is no way to display the full path of the file in the topic: plugins list. Another way to find the location of the plugin file (for example, in Firefox 21) must inspect the contents of the "pluginreg.dat" file, located in the profile to your Mozilla application folder.
- Mozilla 22 and above: From version 22 (for example, Firefox 22) an extra row "path:" is included in the on: plugins list, which displays the full path of the file for all plugins. (bug 661961).

I just downloaded the most recent Foxfire available (29,0) in the hope that I can access my gmail account. But it still says "Javascript is not enabled. Subject: config does NOT display a preferences menu, so I can't turn Javascript on. I tried to download add-ons to enable or disable Javascript power, but they are not compatible with Firefox 29,0.
Should I stop using Firefox altogether? I can't access my Bank, my credit cards, or my gmail accounts, nor can I access YouTube. It's what I use my browser-Firefox is more useful for me, unless you can give me a solution for this!

Firefox reset should solve the problem. Instructions for this are here: Firefox Refresh - reset the settings and Add-ons.
Let me know how it goes,

Ok. How can I get rid of the pin.wid as my default browser. When I click on firefox I get pin.wid. I can't uninstall it. I emailed them this question. Response (abbreviated); Subject: config in the address bar, I promise you, keyword.url in the search box... not stuck there... no results.
There are a few different ways that a site could take over your home page. These include:
(1) change your settings
(2) an add-on
(3) hijacking your shortcut of FirefoxFor #1, you probably already checked, but just in case:
You can use the home button or open a new window (Ctrl + n) to test the change.
Note that malicious software can create a file that will pick up your settings at startup. This article describes how to find such a user.js file: How to fix preferences that will not save.
For #2, try this:
Disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off.
Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.
For #3, if you get the unwanted page at startup and not when you use the home page icon or open a new window (Ctrl + n), check here: right click on your shortcut on the desktop for Firefox > properties > Shortcut tab. For 64-bit Windows, the goal should be the next, no more, no less:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
A little luck?

Firefox 26:
The fix turn browser.download.useToolkitUI true subject: config does not work. How can I get rid of the crap from the library and retrieve my download Panel? The downloads window went into Firefox 26. The preference of browser.download.usetoolkitui has been removed. If you still see in Subject: config, it is because you have already customized its value. Right-click and choose reset; It will be gone the next time you start Firefox.
I believe that the plan was still in the window replacement of downloads with the downloads Panel and the library category. Given that its code had not been maintained, he had several questions, such as incompatibility with private per-window.
If you have any suggestions to improve the downloads Panel or the library category, you can drop highlighting bug reports.
You can also try the following add-on.

How to use subject: config to REMOVE Delta looking for my new tab
I'm desperate to remove Delta search my the new tab page. What should I do after I opened on: config? Under ' subject: config', why is there a few options "BOLD" and others don't?
I'm looking for the options under ' subject: config'. I noticed that some options are "BOLD" and some are not. "BOLD" means that these particular configuration options have been modified by the default? If so, how to get changed? I have not changed the settings in "subject: config'."
See the screenshot below to illustrate my question:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xskfm42ohpsa0y4/2013.01.25-13.22.42.JPEG
Subject: config records each preference in Firefox, so if something has been changed by default it will be "BOLD". For example, when you install Firefox displays an information bar that displays your rights. If you're reading or close this bar, it changes the pref in: config to make sure Firefox doesn't show it yet. This pref (browser.rights.3.shown) will be "BOLD". Will be the same if you have a printer on your computer, Firefox will have the settings of the printer connection: config and any pref you changed or Firefox changed talk about: config

Changing search engine, but I can not enter "subject: config.
After the installation of Bing by accident, I can't search using the address bar. Searches are redirected to the Bing search engine. I tried to resolve it with the help here (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Searches%20are%20redirected%20to%20another%20site), but I'm not able to open everything: config. I get the warning for a few seconds, but then it disappears without going into the configuration.
So I have two questions: how to enter: config. And how I can change this search engine and remove Bing?
(1) Please enter questions Troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode, choose disable all addons and restart.
(2) after trying to follow the steps here and see if Subject: config opens.
(3) the first step (2) is to change the location bar search engine; This is due again to Search the Web from the address bar.
Please let us know of further progress on the issue.

Hello Stephen,
Make sure you enter Subject: config with no capitalization.Looks like you are running an add-on called Ant bar tools (it's in your above user agent).

When I enter a web site in the address bar, he did a search on google, which is very inconvenient. I did research and discovered that I should enter ' subject: config ' and change preferences. The problem is that when I enter "subject: config ' I just do another search in Google and can't change preferences.
This has happened
Each time Firefox opened
Is a long time ago
Make sure that you type in the address bar and not in the Google search bar.
- Make sure you have the "Navigation toolbar" and the "Personal bar" visible: "view > toolbars".
- Is he missing elements then see if you can find them in the window "view > toolbars > customize.
- If you see the item in the window customize then bring her back in the window, customize one of the toolbars.
- So, in "view > toolbars > customize", you do not see this item and then click the button "Restore Default Set.

I updated my home page the newtab in: config, there used to work but now it doesn't. I get a blank page or story. Help! all I want is my home page.
The pref browser.newtab.url is no longer supported in Firefox 41 and later, so you can no longer use this to set the new tab page.
You can watch this extension to set the new tab page:
- New tab Override: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/
You can set the parameter URL new tab through Options/preferences of the extension on the subject: addons page.
Look at this extension to use the homepage:

Restorer of classic theme includes this feature as well.
In the version 1.3.9 CTR you can find the "new tab page url" in the window tabs (1).You can use these special pages for the new tab page or use the URL of a web page.

Hi CiRiX,
I understand that you are using a dark theme and have changed the settings in topic: config, that could change how the button toggle works in the themes section for about: addons...It is possible to reinstall the extension, or try these troubleshooting steps:
I managed to fix it by clicking Activate and then deactivate it on another theme.
Thanks for your help!
