Submit by email in full PDF format in ES2.5?

Hello

I need to add a button to my form that sends the email in full PDF format form, not the standard XML send as. I scoured internet and I followed some suggestions (change the coding, just submit and contain the URLS like mailto:[email protected], change the permissions (even if I can't find the menu advanced in the player...?) but none seem not to work. )

I'd appreciate any help.

Hi Niall:

I had the same problem a few days ago and got sorted, you can also

  • Submit the completed form in pdf format, excluding the previous pdf pages.

    I created a pdf workbook that includes 5 pages and a form created in Acrobat (not Livecycle).  I've created a submit button that sends the completed form (page 5) in pdf format to me. The problem which I am facing is that the entire PDF document is sent back. How can I isolate the form on the previous pages in pdf. I use Acrobat Pro vrs 9 on a windows XP computer.  Or I go about it wrong from the start.

    Change the presentation to be only the data and not the form. Select the FDF, XFDF or XML. For your request, I'd use FDF. If this form is for others to e-mail to you, then know that the argument of the mail is subject to problems that you can't prevent (all associated with the configuration of the client computer). Submission to a web script is ALWAYS preferable. In addition, you can save the also backward compatible to be sure people with earlier versions of Acrobat or Reader have no problems with it. Backward compatibility can be obtained with the Document > reduce the size of the file or with the PDF Optimization. If you used a few new features, they will be lost (but of course, those are the features that would have caused any problems).

    Once you have the FDF file, you can simply import it into the form (in some cases, just by clicking on the FDF will open in the form if you don't move the shape on your system.) You can then export the data to other formats (see the manual for more information, or just play with it).

  • Validate the form before you submit by e-mail in pdf format

    I have the form that verifies one a field before printing.

    This is the code:

    var test = this.getField ("pay")
    If (test.value == 'Off') {}
    App.Alert ("Please select a payment method", 1, 0);
    } else {}
    var pp = this.getPrintParams ();
    This.Print (pp);
    }

    I need a similar code to submit the entire form as a pdf attachment to an e-mail message if the same condition test is met.

    I have not looked at ths material long so I'm getting rusty.

    Thank you.

    You must replace the impression of the code by a call to

    this.mailDoc (). You can learn more about this method in the reference files.

  • Submit the email recipient of the choice of the user form and submit in pdf

    I was able to set up a "submit" button so that the user can select the email address, but I can't implement the presentation then the form is sent in pdf format. Can anyone help with this?

    Thank you

    In all cases, the e-mail message outlook is displayed and the user can adjust any part of the email from there. You can choose one of the methods to send a PDF file instead of an XML file.

    If you use Outlook Express, you can create a folder on the desktop (or elsewhere) and drag messages from OE to it. B it will be readable EML files. If it is necessary to convert them to PDF format, there are many EML to PDF converters available.

    There are also some DBX to Converters PDF, but if you want to waste time in the message store, make sure you convert a copy of the dbx file and not the original. Otherwise, it will not open in OE.

    See MVP Jack's response, but I would add two things:

    1. If you need a pdf authoring program, I recommend the free cutepdf.

    2. the statement "no one can open or view the attachment unless they".
    use Windows Vista as well"is not correct. What operating system that they
    term is not relevant, and it doesn't have to be the same operating system
    than the one that you are running.

    What version of Word are you running? In this case, Word 2007 or 2010, when
    you save a document, the default format is not .docx. doc. If you are
    send .docx (or .xlsx) files to a person running an old
    version of Word or Excel, except if they have installed the Microsoft «»
    Office for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 file compatibility pack
    Formats.
    http://Office.Microsoft.com/en-us/Word-help/open-a-Word-2007-document-in-an-earlier-version-of-Word-HA010044473.aspx
    or http://tinyurl.com/29f5scy

    Alternatively, if you want to send files, you can save the files
    in the formats .doc and .xls instead of the new .docx and .xlsx formats.
    but make a "Save as" instead of a 'save' and choosing the elder
    format.

    Thus, it may well be that you simply have to do the above and not worth
    sending to all .pdf files.

  • I would like to build a drag 'n drop interface and have the results sent to my email in PDF format. Is this possible?

    I would like to build a drag 'n drop interface and have the results sent to my email in PDF format. Is this possible?

    Captivate is not really designed to do what you want in this forum.  It is more targeted to allow a user to perform an assessment and then follow whether or not they were here.  So it has really set up to send information in a format that the LMS will understand and interpret as Pass/CNET and what the score was.

    You really need something more flexible than that. So I think you would need to involve a programmer and have the solution custom made.  From my experience, whenever you try to dismiss what Captivate, it was designed to do and you need to involve the other professionals, you can kiss thousands of dollars goodbye before you have a viable solution.

  • Incorporation of the Index of full text in PDF format

    Hi all

    I tried to create and integrate indexes full text in PDF format, but without success. I followed the steps described in the http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Acrobat/9.0/Standard/WSC28D4DBB-6A78-4027-9E04-F50FE411CFB9.w. html - it can have seen progress in the collection of data and in the end, the index update button is enabled. It's a signal for me that the Index was created. After clicking the Ok button, save the document as a new and then reopening "created new" document, there is info that no Index is anchored in the dialog Manage the indexes incorporated . Need to do any other step? Or is it bug? Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1 on Windows Vista 32-bit is used.

    PS: Interesting is also comment at the bottom of above mentioned help page...

    From what I've read, the index is built and what remains is that saved the file. If you save again, there apparently cancels the job. Why? I have no idea.

  • Cannot send the content of form in PDF format

    Hello!

    I'm just getting started with LiveCycle Designer (and LC as a whole) and feel really lost with the lack of information for absolute beginners.

    For now, I am trying to build a form to be distributed among customers and then sent back with full of information.

    I create the form in the designer, opt for delivery in PDF format, save them as PDF, open in Acrobat to extend the rights of users... but when I test the form... I get the news in XML format.

    I tried again and again and still got the same results. I m reeeeealy get frustrated.

    Please, please, help!

    Thanks a lot for all ideas.

    Change the type of your Email button submit to the 'button' (click the dropdown of the part highlighted in her will keep you attached screenshot).

    Then place the code in the click event of the button below. Set the language "Java script".

    event.target.submitForm ({cURL: "mailto:[email protected]?subject=FORM TEST", cSubmitAs:"PDF"}); "})

  • Question of feasibility: extract information from the fields to the PDF format

    I explore options to collect answers to a PDF form.  Fields of entries by the user are created, the user saves the form in PDF format and sends the return form.  The data entered by the user entered in the fields can be retrieved electronically?  I hate the very idea of renewing the data entered by the user to get it in electronic format.  For now, the question is ' is it possible - extract the entries by the user of the data in an electronic format?  If possible, then I can begin to explore the format, etc.

    It is worth noting since you stevat from the outset that it may be problematic to rely on email. Much better to send the form just like an HTML form. This needs a professional web programmer to provide web scripts, however. Also PDF forms do not work on some browsers and phones.

    It is easy to assume that the big trick is to design the form. But it's just the 10% above the water. Personally I wouldn't consider PDF forms more due to browser issues. Same Adobe move to a dynamic conversion to HTML forms then why don't no start with a? There is full form service providers that provide tools to collect and analyze. For example forms of Google - create and analyze surveys, free.

  • Lock the form & email as Javascript PDF

    Hi guys,.

    I use Adobe Acrobat X and create a forms natively. We do use LiveCycle.

    So I created a form with several fields, buttons a date picker - which some I found online.

    The forms that I will create will be placed on the Intranet of the organization that I work for.

    So what I need, is for our users to fill out the online form. Press the submit button. When they press on submit the form must block all content. We don't want content edited when it reaches its destination. Present it button will also display, the default e-mail program fill out the TO: field with a specified email address and the scope of the topic with specific text.

    The form must reach its destination in PDF format.

    Been stuck on this for a while. I used some simple html with the button submit for a while and who has worked for the most part except the part about shape locking.

    So if someone can java me a solution I would be very happy.

    I tried some of the solutions of some solutions of the part of the life cycle of the forum but apparently java is different!

    Thank you very much

    Nick

    I wrote an improved version of the mentioned code. This version completely flatten the file when it is used in Acrobat, but it will just make the fields read-only when it is used in the drive.

    flattenFields()

    function flattenFields() {}

    If {(app.viewerType=="Reader)"}

    for (var i = 0; i)

    var f = this.getField (this.getNthFieldName (i));

    If (f == null) continue;

    f.ReadOnly = true;

    }

    } else {}

    this.flattenPages ();

    }

    }

  • Downloadable in PDF format unsupported or corrupted

    Hello

    When I try to download the report in PDF output using the interactive report, I get this error:

    "Acrobat Reader cannot open"report [1] .pdf, because it is not a file type supported or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an attachment to an email and has not been correctly decoded).

    Select
    a.user_id,
    (b.FIRST_NAME |') '|| b.LAST_NAME) as "full name."
    Sum (a.TOTAL_HOURS)
    BILLING a, b of USERS
    where a.USER_ID = b.USER_ID
    Group a.user_id, (b.FIRST_NAME |) » '|| b.LAST_NAME)

    If I comment the line "sum (a.TOTAL_HOURS)", it is able to produce the file in PDF format:

    Select
    a.user_id,
    (b.FIRST_NAME |') '|| b.LAST_NAME) as "full name".
    -Sum (a.TOTAL_HOURS)
    BILLING a, b of USERS
    where a.USER_ID = b.USER_ID
    Group a.user_id, (b.FIRST_NAME |) » '|| b.LAST_NAME)

    Nobody knows why the SUM is causing this problem and have any suggestions to fix it?

    Thank you
    Matt

    Matt,

    Have you tried to give this column one alias?

    Example: sum (a.TOTAL_HOURS) AS total_hrs
