Subscription to newsstand

Sprint 20 and a viewer to the multi-probleme Viewer application with iTunes subscription, newsstand.

In iTunes Connect, there you present the problems one by one, or create an RSS feed. What features does in a DPS Viewer? I only sent a number through the interface of iTunes connect, yet I have three issues published so Adobe distribution. The subscribe button works, questions appear, with the most recent coverage showing in the newsstand - that is not the issue, concluded iTunes Connect. I'm curious to know if this is an unused with DPS?

The second part - when I published a new edition, will I need to present the cover art, the question id, description, date, publication etc. in Itunes Connect? Or go back to the first question, if this does not appear be serve a purpose?

Dave

The RSS has no effect on DPS applications at this time. Your application displays first Newsstand cover that you specify in the generator of spectator. Whenever you publish a new folio, one of the preview of the cover of the folio images replace cover image for the newsstand in your application. None of the pictures of the kiosk cover that you specify in iTunes Connect are actually used.

  • Subscription price of kiosk - bind you by pricing levels?

    Hello

I'm new to company DPS and want to know something about subscriptions of newsstand rates.

Are you related to levels of Apple prices you would find by loading for Single-Ed Apps or you, as the editor digital, able to set your own price?

Thus, for example, if I wanted to offer my quarterly digital newsletter for, say, $8 for an annual subscription questions, could I do?

For subscriptions of newsstand, you are bound to the Apple price levels. In this case, you must create a duration of 1 year subscription that uses the level 8 ($7.99). That will give users access to all published folios between the start date and end date, as well as the more recently published folio. See http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ppcompdoc/Adobe_Publishing_Companion_Guide_for_iPad.pdf.

You can set your own pricing only in a newspaper kiosk application, if you create an application with iTunes subscriptions and direct payment. In this way, users could subscribe via iTunes (which uses Apple price of bleachers), or they could buy access directly through your personal service right. Your server right would have some pricing options and right you put in place. See right | Adobe Developer Connection.

  • Right (free) + iTunes (free subscription) + kiosk?

    Hello

I'm not really sure what happened.

We had our first app in the App Store with the following parameters:

    Multi-Folio App v24

    Right + iTunes subscription

    Newsstand

Through the law it was possible to get free access to all of the questions by registering.

Given that we wanted to put the magazine on a newsstand customer - had to do all the available numbers for free by signing up at viaiTunes.

    It worked.

We have updated this app recently (we approved) and we did another app for the same customer based on the settings of the first approved.

Then, Apple rejected the second application, because the iTunes free subscription no longer works. We discovered that the same problem appeared on the first (approved!).

Something happened with the inApp purchase-system?

We want to keep publishing the. Folio in detail, but for free.* (is there a reason for subcribing through law)

So: Is it possible to have

A newsstand, all content is available for free, but it requires an account in the iTunes subscription authorization or right?

Or is it only possible to publish folios of detail if you charge the customer for him?

Contact technical support for assistance, you will find the details here https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/SignIn.html

  • "In App Purchase feature is not present in your binary."

Our application was rejected twice now by iTunes.

The first time we presented as an application multi-folio, with in-app purchases/non-consommables/0 layer $ price.  Told us that app in the purchase was not present in the binary file.

" We found that, while you have submitted products In App Purchase for your application, the In App Purchase feature is not present in your binary.

If you want to use to buy the App in your application, you will need to download a new binary that incorporates the in App purchase API to allow users to make a purchase

Once you edit and resubmit your binary file, you also have to resubmit your in-App purchases for review, because they are in the State developer Action required. For each product in the IPA pointed out, please be sure to change the information in detail or to cancel the request to change the information in detail for App purchases using iTunes Connect. »

We resubmitted as an application multi-folio with subscription iTunes, newsstand has enabled, with and without subscription in-app purchases / free. Yet once again, we have been rejected and said that app in the purchase was not present in the binary file.

We try to understand what we're doing wrong and Apple was not much help.

Bottom line, we want to offer our monthly magazine free of charge via the iOS app, just as we in the Google game store? Can anyone point us in the right direction?

Don't implement everything in-app purchase in iTunes. Just post your public/free content in Folio Producer.

  • Free subscription to the newsstand

    Hello!

Can someone tell what is the use of free subscription? Besides the possibility to enter the newsstand and the ability to receive push notifications. How does it work? He leaves Subscriber download questions automatically in the background. It does not expire as would happen if I decide to change to paid renewable mode automatically in future?

    Best regards

    Dmitry

Apple has created the free subscription option to allow publishers get their applications in booth without having to pay for the content.

  • Newsstand for several subscription question?

    Hello

Newsstand is available for Professional and Enterprise subscribers? Editing a single application can be on newsstands? If this isn't the case, it may be ugraded to a multi-probleme of at a later date?

    TA.

To your application in kiosk, you can create a Multi problem with i-Tunes subscription in DPS App Builder. The application must have a subscription, either free or paid, and at least one question every 3 months (this is the minimum required to Apple). It is only available under the DPS Professional and Enterprise Licenses, and Yes, you can upgrade a non-kiosque at a kiosk App application later.

  • App iOS9 newsstand in the Canada

I write the Canada where the application of new is still not available and we have to do with the booth newspapers.

Looks like my kiosk app on my iPhone

That's what it should look like according to Wikipedia

So there should be access to a bank from which you can select magazine subscriptions, but that seems to be missing my version.

Why my version is missing the store?

The newsstand app has been abandoned with the release of the iOS 9. All subscriptions that you had in the kiosk application when you upgraded to iOS 9 were automatically placed in a folder named newsstand. You can leave your subscription in this folder or move out of the folder on the desktop or any other folder if you want. You can add more magazines directly from the App Store app - open that and either search for a specific name or loss featured then categories and then newspapers and Magazines magazine.

  • Purchase app (free subscription) not found in during the review of the App

My presentation app is rejected continully because they are unable to find the purchase of subscription App (free).

It's the only thing delaying publication.

It is a standard, type of subscription, all available content immediately.

    My approach:

    • Go to the projects and subscriptions > subscriptions.

    • Create a subscription with the unique product ID product

    • Access to the project settings > store

    • Enter in Itunes Connect Shared Secret

    • In itunes Connect - point product of free membership create and assign a product ID of AEMM

    • Assign the product to build App and submit the control application.

I have create a unique subscription ID, so it is not bound to a single collection. What I'm missing here?

The last step is the problem. iOS subscriptions run on a collection plan, not a level of app. After you create the product subscription, you must assign this product ID to one or several collections and not the application itself.

I'm curious. Why do you want to set up a free subscription? Apple launches a free subscription to the time background downloads worked only in kiosk applications to newspapers and free subscriptions were the only way to get an app with free content on newsstands. Now that the background downloads are supported in applications non-kiosque to newspapers and kiosk will disappear, why want to offer you a free subscription? Maybe you want to get information about the user? Unless you have a good reason, I recommend that you avoid adding subscriptions to your application.

  • Subscriptions to magazines with DSP 2015 will be the same as with DPS14?

We are about to hire an integrator server to sell subscriptions ourselves. Is this documentation always well with this new version? When the kiosks will disappear and how is what will change things with subscriptions?

In addition, it seems that you can create collections (folios) for Android and Windows with DPS 2015. Which supports subscriptions Android and windows? Can define you those with a year's subscription or it still sell magazines?

In addition, what is involved with migrating existing folios of DPS14 to DPS15?

I'll try to breakdown your questions:

    (1) when the Apple booth goes, all the apps of Newsstand will become standalone apps. This affects all the features related to subscriptions. You can launch an app non-kiosque today and have a free subscription or paying in your application.

    (2) with DPS 2015 we will focus on the same options of detail previously available - i.e. you can sell one "problem" where the issue is equal to a collection. You can also offer renewable subscriptions, which allow the buyer to content that has been published during their subscription period.

    (3) in addition to the subscription options standard we also give you the ability to offer 'All access subscriptions' similar to a Netflix or Spotify approach to membership. In this scenario, a user could pay for subscription to access all the and access to all previously published content and all content published in the future, as long as they remain a Subscriber paying. They stop once they have loosened their paid access.

    (4) direct right is still a feature in 2015 of DPS. This allows to titled "print subscribers ' or sell subscriptions through your Web site.

    (5) article is available in 2015 DPS - this feature allows you to give users free access to many articles until you reach a threshold paywall. This is similar to NYTimes and other news paywall sites.

    (6) subscriptions android and Windows are coming, but is not available at launch.

  • The App of the subscription issues.

I use DPS only Editions & currently have an application pending review. I tried to change to a subscription app and had a few questions.

    1. Can I even build an app for unique editions newsstand?
      1. As this thread is said can't do: prepare DPS kiosk app
      2. "All apps from the booth must be subscription apps - free, either at retail." One question Viewer apps may not appear on newsstands. " Addition of Digital Publishing Suite apps Apple newsstand | Adobe Developer Connection
    2. If Yes, do I need to re - create the app in the App Builder to specify that it will be for the kiosk? Or can I just use my original app and just change the options in iTunesConnect?

I wanted to just confirmation, because I remember talking to Support Adobe telling that I could create subscriptions with simple editions (creative cloud subscription).  If I can't create subscriptions, my only option is to go with the entire company?

  • Subscription for cause of different languages

    Hello

We have a problem with our in-app purchase subscription.

We have a digital magazine (not in the newsstand) you can buy each question in app. We also offer a one year subscription. The magazine itself is available in three languages (English, french and Dutch).

    The problem:

When someone buys a subscription, it has access to the English version of the magazine. In iTunes Connect we implemented one year membership and added 3 languages in the "in-app purchase details", so we thought that you could download all the three languages having a subscription, but apparently this is not the case.

In addition, probably in connection with the foregoing, when you select one of the problems, and you have the pop-up with the button 'preview' and 'buy', only the English version has the "subscription" button

Can someone help me out here?

    Thanks in advance!

    Wouter

In my view, that the issue relates to the way THAT DPS manages subscriptions purchased after the publication of folios. I'm not an Adobe employee, so the info below is based on the prior discussions and must be confirmed:

When you sign up for an iOS, the subscription date is based on the date of purchase, not on the date of the most recent published folio. Without any further manipulation, this means that the user is not entitled to a Folio until a folio is published at a date no later than the first day of the subscription. Because he was such a poor user experience, Adobe built by managing way automatically allows the user to the most recent folio published before the commencement of the subscription (for example, the current issue). In your case, you have three topical issues, but Adobe has no way of identifying which today. Thus, the user is only to get access to one of the folios.

I think that the only way around this would be to publish the folios with a date later than today. This would automatically add the subscription. You could, I believe, publish the folio using the date of the day before your next issue that should mean anyone who purchases a subscription between now and then would automatically receive the first numbers. You'll need to experiment.

    Best,

    Brett

  • Free subscription strategy

I have a monthly magazine in review with Apple that will appear in the booth newspapers, but fixing a small bug, I realized that my subscription strategy should be revised.

The goal is to have a monthly magazine that is free to all users for the first year, while the reader/number of subscribers is built and then offer a subscription from year 2.

Originally, I've set up a free subscription, assuming that I could convert paid at a later date. Once he is paying with a number of options (as well as single issue purchase) subscription mode, the magazine would also offer occasional free supplements as well as paid content. It would also offer a free 30 day trial.

However, from what I read on this forum, once you use the free subscription to iTunes Connect, all subscribers who sign up for that this year for still more free, even though the magazine converts will receive next year.

Is there a strategy to do what I'm after? Can I start with the retail subscriptions (renewable automatically, for example), but mark them free for the first year of pricing rather than use the free subscription? Some read it here shows that Apple can reject that.

    Thanks for any idea.

    Rob

1 no, don't create a free-subscription app and then change to a retail subscription app Apple has offered a free subscription as a way for the non-detaillants apps for newsstand. Convert a subscription free app to retail is a mess that update you or download a different application.

    2. it is a much better option. Here are a few articles on the free content available:

  • Convert application folio multi multi-folio with iTunes subscription

    Hi all

You can convert a multi-folio (non-kiosque) multi-folio with iTunes subscription application? i.e. If you have built an application and you have in the app store, could replace you it with a new kiosk of targeting build?

    Thank you

    Toby

I think, but once you went on newsstands you can not update the application to quit Kiosk if I remember correctly.

  • Requirements of newsstand

What are the requirements for the presentation of an app for the Apple booth?

It's just for magazines and newspapers?

    Is there a subscription?

Are the guiding principles set out somewhere?

Newsstand apps must be subscription multi-folio apps - free, either at retail. For more information on the creation of the certficiates and the assets needed for newspaper kiosk applications, see the companion edition of DPS guide.
