Subwoofer Idepad Y550?

Hi all

I use a Y550 6 months already, and I am very satisfied with the machine.

However, there is a feature that I have not been able to use with Windows7, it's the subwoofer.

With the original installation (Vista 32) I found this Home Theater button very useful, once I turned it the contrast of the display has changed and the subwoofer is turned on. In fact, the sound was surprisingly large, according to the fact that it is a laptop.

However, with Windows 7, I have not arrived to allow him. I installed the latest drivers (01/07/2010), but the button (better to say: function) change the contrast only, the subwoofer does not work. In other words, it is not any sound change - from the original installation, where the difference is huge between the modes "normal" and "subwoofer".

So the question is: has anyone managed to activate the subwoofer under Windows 7? If so, how?

Thanks for your replies!

  • Satellite C50 - A - Logitech - serious silent subwoofer speaker system

    Hello

I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite A - 19 t C50. I have a Logitech speaker system that produces a pleasant sound. When I plug it into the new laptop, the subwoofer doesn't produce a very quiet sound, leaving an overall metal sound. The speakers work perfectly with another laptop.

Is that what I can do to change the sound levels or the sound card is at fault?

    Thank you

If you connect the external speakers to the laptop, you should also check the settings of volume and level. Usually, you can do this in Control Panel-> sound-> playback.

As far as I know, that you can also find sound additional application called DTS® Sound & DTS Studio sound that is preinstalled on your laptop

Its DTS Studio is a suite of improvement audio premium which uses the revolutionary audio technology to provide the most impressive and the most realistic listening experience ever offered for a two speaker playback environment.
To access this utility, click on:
Office-> Office help (in the task bar)-> Media Entertainment & -> DTS Studio Sound

You can also find the DTS sound (he delivers an immersive surround sound with deep dialogue, rich bass and crystal clear). Click
Office-> Office help (in the task bar)-> multimedia animation & -> his DTS

    Check also.

    Hi mate

    What subwoofer do you mean?
The NB550 does not support the subwoofers

Some models are equipped with a loudspeaker that is placed at the bottom of the device, but this isn't a subwoofer this speaker makes sounds generated by the software and audio alarms this condition low battery, generated by the system

So normally you should hear just short beep from the speaker.

  • Satellite L650 - no sound external subwoofer, from speakers

    Hello

I recently acquired a [Toshiba Satellite L650-14F | http://se.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/ro/product/Satellite-L650-14E/1086065/] laptop comes with no OS.

The audio chipset seems to be Conexant SmartAudio HD CX20671. However, when I connect my Logitech 2.1 audio system (2 speakers, 1 subwoofer) via the headphone jack, I have no sound in the subwoofer, only the speakers.

If I right click on the sound Manager icon in Windows 7 and select "Playback devices" then Conexant and set up, I can only see the Audio channels: stereo and no other options. It's 2010. HD audio has been around for some time now. I sincerely hope that Toshiba did not have a modern laptop with only stereo support.

Any help to get the subwoofer will appreciated.

    Hi Skello,

What Logitech speakers, you have exactly? Which audio port do need?

Have you already tested the speakers on another computer to test if the subwoofer is working correctly?
    All cables are connected correctly?

Also check the Windows sound settings. Change the settings for desktop speakers as Akuma wrote.

  • DV7t-1285DX - 3 speakers, only 2 work (channel right, left on via the subwoofer)

So, I recently bought a DV7t, and although I love the machine I'm having a problem with the speakers. Windows Vista Ultimate 64 is only detected two speakers of any drivers that I use (including the latest IDT). I get right channel sound through the right speaker, left channel sound through subwoofer and no sound at all through the left speaker. I tried different drivers and that you have, so far no joy.

OK, so I've bitten the bullet and disassembled my laptop today. As I was putting it back together, I realized that one of the pins of the speaker jack (male receiver, on the motherboard) has carefully folded upward. I carefully folded it back into place, has put everything back together and now all the work of three channels! While this could be the problem in every case, it fixed the problem for me. If you try it yourself, be very careful when you try to bend the PIN in place, they break off easily and unexpectedly, and if you break you it turned for good. Good luck.

  • Satellite P200 - no integrated noise "subwoofer".

    Hello!
I have a Toshiba Satellite P200-1FM with a high "subwoofer". At least the manual says theres is one and its supposed to be at the bottom of the laptop. I can see it and it looks like the picture in the manual. I tried it prick with a toothpick (of course) just to make sure that theres a speaker it and not just plastic. There is some flex in it and it sure sounds like a speaker when I poke him. However, my problem is theres no noise coming from him.

I tried both Vista and XP, and several different drivers without success. Anyone got any ideas? Anyone got the same laptop as I do? Your "subwoofer" work? The other speakers work fine, btw.

    Help, please!

How do you know that your Satellite P200 subwoofer integrated?

  • HT-CT380: A way to synchronize the subwoofer the Soundbar remote control?

    Hello

I just bought the HTCT380 from Best Buy. It was an open box, so he came with a remote control. I was not concerned because this product has HDMI ARC, allowing me to use my TV remote to adjust the volume. (Also, the application is useful for adjusting levels, etc..)

So far, I couldn't access the menu without the remote control. And, it seems, the only way is to synchronize the sound bar subwoofer to access the menu.

Is there a way to access the menu without the remote control? (This sound bar has On / Off, input, pairing and volume buttons.) The sub has On / Off and sync buttons). I hope that there is a button combination that can get there, or if one or several buttons are required...

If there is no way to access the menu without the remote, is there a way to bypass the menu and manually synchronize the subwoofer?

Thanks in advance for your advice,

    Alex

So, I feel a bit silly about it...

I tried to move the subwoofer closer to the sound bar and it connected immediately. I don't know what it was because it was an ope - box, and someone had it synced already... or if it is designed to do this.

This thread can be marked as resolved. If anyone has doubts for me this unit, I feel fairly well-informed having done a lot of reading. Very impressed with it.

  • How can I verify that this subwoofer on the Satellite X 200?

    Hello

How can I verify that this subwoofer?

In certain circumstances I encounter or have the impression that his 'escapes' to the screen which, in my view, is not appropriate behavior.
However, this phenomenon is not continuous and never appears while the laptop is not on the table (i.e. subwoofer is not horizontal)

    Hello

I put t know what sound behavior do you mean exactly, but it turns out that the Satellite X 200 laptop is equipped with the Realtek sound nursery.
You can find the settings in the control panel.

This Realtek audio Manager control and sound effects, Dolby Home Theater sound configurations and configuration of additional speakers.

These options affect the sound quality and the acoustic perception.

Must play a bit with these options!

  • Satellite 2800-200: loss of bass/subwoofer after the upgrade to Windows XP SP2

I've recently updated me for XP, but even after reinstalling driver Yamaha DS - XG on the Toshiba site, I seem to have lost the ability to control or to hear anything for two subwoofers on the front of the case, under the keyboard. I would like to know if they can be restored as the two speakers below the screen are not exactly hi-fi! Thanks for any help.

    Hello Gerald

As you know, this unit is designed for Microsoft Windows 98, Millennium Edition, and the device is configured to work with the operating system that is supported. The list of whole software for this device is not known to me, but I assume that there is also something preinstalled to support the subwoofer function, but please don t ask me that. If you have preinstalled recovery image may be that you will be able to know what it can be.

Now you have later the OS available on the device and it is logical and expect that you will also lose some special options. I'm afraid, there is nothing to do, and you have to live with that. Now, you have no option of subwoofer but WXP. I just hope that WXP runs stabile and without any problems.

  • Qosmio G40 with 4 speakers and subwoofer but not available in WMS 5.1

I want to configure the sound in Windows Media System. When I run the wizard configuration-sounds,

    (2) then the loudspekers must be selected: I can only select 2

    Hello

I don't know if you would be able to choose a different configuration of m stereo speaker.
The point is that most laptops are equipped with 2 stereo speakers, and to be honest I didn't see another stereo audio option in the sound settings.

As I m not wrong not you should have two different audio options in the control panel. Realtek HD audio manager and sound.

You should first check the configuration of the sound.
On the playback tab choose speakers and set up. You can also go through the configuration of the speakers together.

In any case, there must be an option called stereo.
You are able to choose an alternative stereo?
If not then it of not possible to change the kind of speakers!

  • subwoofer

A subwoofer passive can be used with receiver 7.1 STR-DH520? I have seen a few articles online. He also takes a subwoofer to be installed on the receiver or just connect?

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum.

The sub out on a STR-DH520 is line level only so so that you can run a subwoofer passive you need between a mono amplifier. If you can find an inexpensive stereo amplifier that can be filled may be a way forward. However, any amount you plan on spending for the purchase of an additional amplifier is probably better spent to run an active sub will not only easier to configure it probably also sound better.

  • Equium A110-354: Subwoofer not working not properly on the 2.1 speaker system

I just bought a set of 2.1 speakers (with 1 single output jack - green lemon) and plugged into the headphone jack. It works normally, ONLY the subwoofer is not. I tried to use the loudspeaker on my mp3 player and the subwoofer low works perfectly.

Why my subwoofer does not work properly when connected to my laptop? Because of the sound card on laptop? Someone please help. Thank you very much.

    Hello

    Try this:
-Go to the control panel and choose sound and audio devices
-under the Volume tab, choose advanced options in the speaker settings
-Properties advanced audio should be opened. There you can select the right speaker system.

PS: The Toshiba virtual sound program must be installed on this laptop. You should really check out this program. Here, you can select the mode and the listening environment.

  • Qosmio F50-126 - Subwoofer does not work in Windows 7

My subwoofer does not work in Windows 7.
I installed the audio driver Dolby Digital... Basically controls the bass.

That didn't activate it because I don't think the pulse of air, that I used to get under Vista. What driver am I missin?

I don't have this model laptop but it will be interesting to know if you have that you compared the sound settings in Vista and Win7?
Can you change anything to make box works properly?

AFAIK there is no special driver for subwoofer features.
