Suggestions to maximize the performance of loop of RT

I've attached a screenshot of a small portion of a RT data acquisition and treatment program. This loop treats 1 second blocks of data from a FIFO RT but very rarely (about once per day) the loop is slowing to the point where he is not able to track the data blocks 1 second coming from the producer loop (not shown). Normal loop iteration time is about a half a second, but when he falls behind, iteration rate slows down until almost 2 seconds and does not recover.

The incoming data for the treatment are an array of 14 waveforms, 102400 each of the samples.

1 channel is peeled off very early for the treatment of tachometer. For other analog channels, there are a few calibration and light filtering/RMS calculation then the data is sent to an another RT FIFO. Then the analog channels are highly filtered, decimated and sent an FFT / unit conversion/integration VI. The FFT results are transmitted over the network and then checked for overtaking in VI connected to the shared variable of the network 'fireplace data '. Step much more time of the whole process seems to be the wave filter vi form, just after the RT FIFO first write operation.

I'm looking for suggestions on improving the performance and the deterministic nature of this loop. So far, I've only tried to turn off debugging and reentrant inline, all the vi if the sub vi supports. These measures have helped, but I see the question coming. I'm willing to try anything, so just point out something that does not look quite right. I will be happy to provide more details on one of the vi if this will help.

I could considerably improve the performance by using the place in the structure of the element for the same vi, calibration and decimation. Then, I replaced all build tables with a subset of spare board. Finally, I have pipelined loop into two distinct stages. Since the target RT uses only one heart, so I don't get a multithreading performance gain, but it seemed a little better job, I don't know why...

  • 'For' loop with a different number of iterations. Second, the auto-indexation of the tables with different sizes is done. It can affect the performance of the Vi?

    Hello

    I have a loop 'for' which can take different number of iterations according to the number of measures that the user wants to do.

    Inside this loop, I'm auto-indexation four different 1 d arrays. This means that the size of the tables will be different in the different phases of the execution of the program (the size will equal the number of measures).

    My question is: the auto-indexation of the tables with different sizes will affect the performance of the program? I think it slows down my Vi...

    Thank you very much.

    My first thought is that the compiler to the LabVIEW actually removes the Matlab node because the outputs are not used.  Once you son upward, LabVIEW must then call Matlab and wait for it to run.  I know from experience, the call of Matlab to run the script is SLOW.  I also recommend to do the math in native LabVIEW.

    This minute is spent for the most part between the two points I mentioned below (Point A & B).

    I guess time will especially isFile() calls. That should make a stat() system call, which calls the network file server.

    If you can target Java 7 and greater, you can use the new java.nio.file and BasicFileAttributes. Allows you to extract the data to stat() each file in a single call, so that lastModified() and isFile() must separate calls to the file server. It will not yet be fast like lightning, but maybe almost 2 x faster - I think that all other treatments are overshadowed by calls on the network.

        // Read file attributes to a list (or use a Map if you prefer)
        String files[] = new File(Directory).list();
        BasicFileAttributes attributes[] = new BasicFileAttributes[files.length];
        for (int n = 0; n < files.length; n++)
            attributes[n] = Files.readAttributes(Paths.get(directory, files[n]), BasicFileAttributes.class);

        // Now you can use
        attributes[n].lastModifiedTime()
        attributes[n].isRegularFile()
        // etc without each call hitting the file server.

    Victorinox original title: maintenance cleaning disc

    When I press Ctrl-Alt-Del Task Manager appears on the bar tasks, but I can view is no longer 'task manager' on the screen when I try to maximize, how can I restore it?

    Hello Brenzter,

    1 did you change on your computer before the show?

    2 does only with Task Manager or with other applications as well?

    Follow the following troubleshooting methods:

    Method 1:

    I suggest to put the computer in a clean boot state and then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    To set up the computer in a clean boot, follow the steps in the link: How to perform a clean boot

    Note: After checking in the clean boot, follow step: 7 article to reset your computer to normal startup.

    Method 2:

    Run System File Check to fix the corrupted system files and then check how it works.

    Check the link 'How to use the tool File Checker system to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or Windows 7' to run the System File Check.

    Note: He may request DVDs windows of difficulty and allowing SFC to do more than minor repairs. Could some of the files saved on your computer are deleted when fixing corrupted files.

    Method 3:

    You can also try a repair installation.

  • Flashback data archive commit the performance of time - a bug problem?

    Hi all

    I use the Oracle 11 g R2 on 64-bit windows environment. I just want to do some tests quue flashback data archive. I created one and add to a table. about 1.8 million records is to exist in this table. Furthermore, this table is one of the examples of oracle, SH. SALEStables. I created another table using the table and insert the same data twice.
    -- not a SH session

    Create Table Sales as select * from sh.sales;

    insert into sales select * from sh.sales;
    Commit;
    insert operation takes a few seconds. sometimes, in this code, validation command takes more of * 20 *, sometimes 0 seconds. If validation time is brief after insert, can I update the table and then validate again:
    update sales set prod_id = prod_id; -- update with same data
    commit;
    update takes a few seconds longer. If the first commit (after integration) has had too little time, second validation, after the update, takes more than 20 minutes. At this time, while that commit were working, my cpu becomes overloaded, 100% charge.

    the system that oracle runs on is good for quest staff use, i7 4 real core cpu, 8 GB ram, disk SSD etc.

    When I looked at the Business Manager - performance monitoring, I saw this SQL in my sql album list:
    insert /*+ append */ into SYS_MFBA_NHIST_74847  select /*+ leading(r)
             use_nl(v)  PARALLEL(r,DEFAULT) PARALLEL(v,DEFAULT)  */ v.ROWID "RID",
             v.VERSIONS_STARTSCN "STARTSCN",  v.VERSIONS_ENDSCN "ENDSCN",
             v.VERSIONS_XID "XID" ,v.VERSIONS_OPERATION "OPERATION",  v.PROD_ID
             "PROD_ID",  v.CUST_ID "CUST_ID",  v.TIME_ID "TIME_ID",  v.CHANNEL_ID
             "CHANNEL_ID",  v.PROMO_ID "PROMO_ID",  v.QUANTITY_SOLD
             "QUANTITY_SOLD",  v.AMOUNT_SOLD "AMOUNT_SOLD"  from SYS_MFBA_NROW r,
             SYS.SALES versions between SCN :1 and MAXVALUE v where v.ROWID =
             r.rid
    This consumes my resources for more than 20 minutes. what I do is, just an update 1.8 milion records (which use update is really takes little time) and validation (which kills my system).

    What is the reason for this?

    TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production

    I see that in the example of Guy Harrison the SYS_MFBA_NROW table contains a very large number of lines - and the query is forced into a loop of neste join on this table (as is your query). In your case the nested loop is a vision (and there is no sign of a current "pushed" predicate.

    If you have a very large number of rows in the table, the resulting code is bound to be slow. To check, I suggest your run the test again (from scratch) with active sql_trace or statistics_level defined at all so that you can get the rowsource for the query execution statistics and check where the time is being spent and where the volume is displayed. You will have to call this one in Oracle - if this observation is correct that FBDA is only for OLTP systems, no DSS or DW.

  • Need some suggestions in writing the package...

    Hello world

    I just asking this question to know better than I do.
    I have a patient with 2 million lines in it. Is it possible to extract the 2 million lines in a textfile using UTL_FILE?. I need to extract each related data patients from different (bigger than the patient table) tables in a file deleted by commas. For each patient id, I must query other tables and get the data associated with this patient (depending on condition). For this I need to call different functions on different tables.

    Some people think like that...

    Create or replace procedure XXXX

    cursor-> to get the ID of the patient
    variables-> declare all variables

    Start

    File Manager for the file of the utl to write to a file
    Open the cursor
    using bulk collect limited no of lines extraction

    For each patient id
    Data1: = function1
    data2: = function2
    Data3: = function3
    --
    --
    --
    --
    --

    string: = data1 | Data2. Data3. ....
    UTL_FILE.put_line
    redefine the chain
    end loop;

    end;

    My questions are:

    Is it possible to call different functions for each id of patients (2 million patients) are there? is there a better way to do it.
    Please give me some suggestions if I need to change all the steps that I follow for best performance.

    Thank you

    Then, I would say that you might be surprised at what can be achieved in SQL, and if you encounter any problems just post it here, I'm sure there will be someone who could fall for you ;)

    Seriously, if you need to call a function of 2 million times, you code seriously slow, not to mention the processing power that would be involved. It's the difference between the treatment by SETs (SQL) and treatment by unique records.

  • Low power mode will affect the performance of the camera?

    I take my iPhone 6 on a trip backpack my camera. I intend to put the phone in airplane mode and I wonder if I should also set low power mode. If I put it in low power mode, it will reduce the performance of the camera?

    I suggest that you test this configuration by yourself before you leave.

    You can also consider taking the external battery back up like those manufactured by mophie.

  • Comparison of the results of the performance and the sum of the sum of array elements

    I did a comparison of the performance of "Add table" with 2 other methods (an Add elements and function of ddot BLAS) to see who was the fastest and also to compare their results, given that I was watching a few slight differences.

    Conclusions
    BLAS ddot's quicker (just a little), then add items, then add it in a loop of table

    BLAS ddot and add items table give identical results almost all the time.

    I don't know why add items in a loop manually gives a slightly different result. I understand there are any rounding due to finite precision errors, but why is it different for the 2 other methods?

    This classic of digital computing: the quality of the result depends on the order of operations.

    A simple example is the calculation of a * b / c with a, b, c equal to 25, 200 and 100 respectively. The result should be 50, but if a, b and c are U8, the result depends on the order of operation, as shown in the example below. DBL and data non-entier, the difference is of course that much smaller, but still there are!

    In your case, the difference also stems from the order of operations:

    -in the table add-in, the product of all the elements is calculated first and then the elements of the array are added.

    -in the loop, the addition is performed after each multiplication.

  • network flow affect the performance

    Hey guys,.

    I had a set flow network implemented to tranfer a lot of data in my cRIO 9068 to my PC to save it.

    Now, I noticed a decline in the RT performance when tranfered by the network flow data were big enough. I'm talking about the tables with size about 5 MB here. My goal is to transfer bigger tables across the network with the performance of the CR flow not be influenced.

    The program is built with 2 loops.

    A loop to the network stream, the other to simulate the controls.

    The two loops are timed with 10 Hz.That of the frequency necessary for controls.

    Usually each dataset happens to my PC. The drop in performance, I've mentioned before, I noticed that when a signal generated by the RT generated test becomes rough.

    Can't find anything about it in the forum. Can someone help me?

    Thanks a lot!

    Max

    Hi Max,.

    Why should you change your image before downloading? At least the text is hard to read...

    You want to listen to 5 bays MB with a 5ms interval (which is 1 Gbps!)? And then, you're really asking about the high on the cRIO CPU consumption? Really?

    Is your 'size' number of items or really memory footprint?

    Hello microblackhole,

    I understand that Windows 7 gaming performance do not meet the requirements you're looking for.

    I wish to inform you that with Windows 7, you get to use 4 GB of Random Access Memory.

    The major problem with your computer, it seems that there are a few old games that break with blue screens.

    Windows 7 comes with Direct X 10 preinstalled. So you should try to understand what are the games that are broken.

    Here are a few methods that you can analyze the reasons why the games are block:

    Compatibility:

    Check if the games are compatible with Windows 7. You can run the troubleshoot compatibility utility to discover the solutions to run the games:

    1. open the program compatibility problems by clicking on the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting.

    2. under programs, click on run programs for previous versions of Windows.

    Read this article which will give you more information about this:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-program-compatibility-Troubleshooter

    Analyze the event viewer:

    I suggest you analyze the event viewer to find what could be causing the crash games.

    1. open the start menu and type event viewer in the start menu search bar. Open event viewer from the menu.
    2. in the case of Viewer click Windows logs in the left panel.
    3. click on application under Windows Logs logs.
    4. search for the error messages listed in the event viewer window Central Panel and double-click on the error to check if it log is related to games that are broken.

  • ways to increase the performance of the processor

    It might be a silly thing to ask, but I can use a 4 GB USB key to increase the performance of the processor

    during execution of the movies netflix and Amazon to steam. I have 17.4 GB of free space, but then the streaming of the CPU usage is maxed out

    c increace disk space I made the following suggestions given by someone else in the community:

     You can create more free space in C by doing one of the following suggested measures.

    The default allocation for the restoration of the system is 12% on your C partition is more generous. I have them would be reduced by 700 MB. Make my computer right click on your icon, and select System Restore. Place the cursor on your C drive select settings but this time find the slider and drag it to the left until it shows 700 MB and output. When you get to the settings screen, click on apply and OK and leave.

    A flaw that might be useless which is for temporary internet files, especially if you keep no copies on the disk offline. Setting the default value is 3% of the walk. Depending on your attitude to copies offline, you could bring it to 1% or 2%. In Internet Explorer, select Tools, Internet Options, general, temporary Internet files, settings to make the change. At the same time, look at the number of days, the story stands.

    The default allocation for the basket is 10% of the disk. Change to 5%, which should be enough. In Windows Explorer hover over your Recycle Bin, right click and select Properties, Global and move the slider from 10% to 5%. However, try to let you become so complete that if it is complete and you delete a file by mistake it will bypass the Recycle Bin and have gone forever.

    How can I improve the performance of my compaq presario V2000, its very slow!

    According to many things (specifications, you have now installed vs the programs he came originally with programs, etc.)-it may or may not work better that ever he does now.  However, in terms of nothing other than the software and others on the subject - there are some things you can do to optimize performance.

    Search for malware:

    Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

    Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

    Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

    The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

    Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

    You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

    Do some cleaning and dusting off this hard drive:

    You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

    Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

    If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...

    You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

    When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

    -Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
    -Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
    -Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

    You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
    4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

    You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

    Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

    -Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
    -On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
    -Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
    -Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
    -Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
    -Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

  • is it possible to use external memory to increase the performance of my computer?

    I have a slow xp and each program/app/files in an external drive.
    But I want to know if I can improve the performance of my control memory left him in the external drive.

    Hi cesar vidal,.

    1. What is the total capacity of the hard drive primary?
    2. Since when are you facing problems of performance on the computer?

    Method 1

    There is no way the use of the memory or the space left in the external drive to increase the performance of the computer.

    See the article and check if it helps increase the performance of the computer.

    Slow PC? Optimize your computer for peak performance

    http://www.Microsoft.com/athome/Setup/optimize.aspx

    Method 2

    It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is at the origin of the performance problem.

    I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

    To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

    How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    Reset the computer to start as usual

    When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

  • Upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 will reduce the performance of my PC?

    I look to upgrade my laptops Windows Vista Edition software Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium! My laptop can be slow sometimes and I was wondering, the upgrade to Windows 7 will make slower or it will just remain the same?

    Hello

    We cannot advise you as to which is better/more fast/slow more of your particular computer.

    But we suggest you follow these steps before moving on to Windows 7.

    Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

    If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

    Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

    Check if your specifications are compatible for Windows 7:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow
