  I tried to find a document giving a way to upgrade without some luck, so:

  Or is it better to wipe existing systems and start over?

  Note also that if you have vanilla 6.2 (no fix), then you need to upgrade as soon as possible because there are db related issue - and that's why you don't see 6.2 in above doc.

• Sun Directory Server cannot delete an entry

  Hi I use Sun DS 6.0. A suffix is enabled for replication as a CONSUMER. I disabled the replication of the master agreement. Now, I'm trying to delete a single entry to the consumer. I am getting error LDAP refferal.

  as long as the consumer will be, you should think of it as a kind of replica in read-only which can be updated only a master. All write operation will be actually redirected (through the referral) to masters of the topology.

  If you want to remove a single entry you must reconnect the replication and delete the entry on the master server.

  ATTENTION: there is a "time window", a replica can be left out of the topology of replication and automatically catching up with the updates:

  The default is one week, after that you will need to perform a re-initialization of the replica of the consumer.

• Download Java from Sun Directory Server 5.2 x 86

  I'll try to find a copy of the x 86 Server version Sun Java Directory compressed archive for Solaris.  I am trying to build a test system for some old software, and I have only a copy of the Sparc ldap version.  I tried to use the current version of Department available on Oracle e-delivery cloud, but the software is too old to work with it... it's needs version 5.2, specifically.  Is anyone know where I can find a copy?

  I installed Sun Java (TM) System Directory Server/5.2, which uses LDAP to the 6.0 (TAM) of Tivoli Access Manager.

  LDAP has been installed on a separate server as well as the TAM (NPS server, server authorization) components.

  I would like to encrypt an attribute (lets say UID) in LDAP as the attribute of password that is encrypted during installation of the software. So, what are all the steps I must follow to the encryption of the attribute. Help, please.

  In addition to you that DS5.2 is an OLD memory, OBSOLETE, not supported, version... and I strongly suggest you move on to a current version (ODSEE 11.1.1.7.2)...

  I have a Server Windows 2012 I use for DHCP, DNS and NAT on a network without a domain controller, and I don't want to create a domain.

  When my Windows 7 clients connect, they identify the network with the name of 'network '. Is there a setting on the server, Windows 2012, that will allow me to change the name that clients identify the network with? I want something that is on the side Server and not to go and rename it on each client manually.

  Do you actually the server package or just a customer? If you want the package server, Sun One Directory server 5.2 is as nearly 10 years and support. You should really look at the most recent version. Search for Department 7.0 or renamed him 11 GR ODSEE material 1. If you are looking for a client, any LDAP V3 compatible client works and it comes with Solaris by default anyway, IE search orders such as ldapsearch, ldapmodify, etc... If you want a GUI, there is abundance autour, so for example JXplorer, Studio DS Apache, etc...

• Slow forms Oracle 10 g 2 using Sun JRE on Windows 7 x 64

  We run Application Server 10 g 2 10.1.2.3 and we ran Sun JRE under Windows XP SP3 very well. It's catchy, and with the exception of a few minor problems, everything works fine.
  
  We test now some new workstations running under Windows 7 (64 bit) x 64 with Sun JRE again and the performance is just horrible. It is almost unusable. We have tried the jre 32-bit (x 86) and x 64 (64-bit) no difference. We also tried Firefox (only comes in the 32-bit version) and the same problem.
  
  Curiously, the problem does not exist on Windows 7 (32 bit) x 86. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions to make it behave?

  First of all, I think that we need to clarify what is and is not certified for use with 10.1.2.3 so that other readers don't misunderstand what is being discussed.

  Forms 10.1.2.3 has been certified to use Windows 7 x 64 with IE8 and Sun JRE 1.6.0_16 + (32-bit only). Check out the new Forms 10.1.2 customer statement of guidance which can be found here:

  Secondly, without knowing at least some details about the application and even how the client computer is used, it will be difficult to provide specific features. In general, I don't think we (Oracle) had no specific complaints. However, we are currently investigating the complaint of at least a show (it can be your :)), but so far the details are limited and we do not have to go.

  So that everyone understand a performance problem we must first understand exactly what is meant to be 'slow' terms such as "degraded", etc..
