Support for Vista ending in July?

If Vista is no longer supported in July unless the SP2 is installed what happens if one must fill the reinstall after that date?  We will reinstall Vista and then can no longer update Sp1/Sp2/patches, etc.?

    Hello

    Windows Vista is installed with Windows Media Player 11 and there is no option to clear data. If you have a CD - RW, DVD - RW, DVD + RW or DVD-RAM disc and you are using the active file system file format, you can delete one or more files to make more disk space.

  • Unable to get security updates and a critical update for Vista (KB2541763), to support for Vista. (error 80070005)

    original title: failed to get the security updates and critical update for Vista (KB2541763), to load for Vista

    All the other updates, including security, for other Microsoft software will open (WIndows Explorer, Microsoft Office, etc.).
    This seems to have started after downloading and installing McAfee on 6/17. Updates have been well before that date.
    Service Pack 3 is installed.
    All updates important/critical loading fine up until this date.  I have 11 updates essential and important to load.
    I totally removed McAfee from the PC, including the stage you purchase from McAfee for cleaning the system. Now run the ESET security suite.

    Hi Dan,.

    Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft answers Forum. Follow the troubleshooting steps in this thread for your problem with the 80070005 error. Alternatively, you can try to install the update in small groups to see if that fixes the problem.

  • Support for Vista x 64 driver?

    Hello!

    I thought to upgrade my Vista license to Vista x 64. But I'm not sure if Toshiba supports x 64. The cross-section does not specify if the drivers are 32-bit or 64-bit :(

    Can someone enlighten me?

    I would try to give you the eternal light of the 'JAH' ;)

    Unfortunately, toshiba doesn't support 64-bit OS´es because they didn t sold machines with Vista x 64.
    That's all, but if you want to run a Vista x 64 you need to search the drivers for yourself in the internet. Related tools and utilities won´t you luck since there is no x 64 versions available.

    Sorry mate

    Welcome them

  • Support for Vista 64-bit (x 64)

    Hello

    I tried to start my program (x 32) windows Vista x 64 and I have problems during the call to the NationalInstruments.Analysis.Enterprise.dll. The Dll is not loaded on Vista x 64.

    Measurement Studio does support Vista x 64 running as a 32 x program?

    Best regards

    Andreas Lindenthal

    Hello Andreas,

    I also just realized that another likely cause of this problem is that you build with the platform target the value of AnyCpu.  Would your app search assemblies 64 bits on 64-bit OS, which does not currently have Measurement Studio.  If this is the case, simply set the platform target to x 86, as well as on the 64 bit OS your application will look for Measurement Studio 32-bit assemblies.  For more information, see the help topic using Measurement Studio on 64-bit operating systems.

    Once again, please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

  • Support for Vista change share button does not work

    Hello

    OK, this is the story:

    I have PC running Vista, we have an Xbox360 that I shared media with my PC. All of a sudden, it stopped working on the Xbox, I can still see the files on the Xbox, but it will not play any of them. So I go to network and sharing Center from my PC, and media sharing Option appears under the name immediately, but if I log in as an administrator, it says its judgment. Either like me or the administrator, the "Change" button in the multimedia file sharing does not work, I click and click on, and it does nothing.

    Please for the love of God someone help me, I'm not that computer warned, so please speak slowly.

    See you soon

    Hi Revjesus,

    Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

    What are the physical changes?

    Make sure "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" and other related services are started in the services.

    Make sure that your user account is listed as the owner of the Windows Media Player database folder.

    To confirm the ownership of the database folder, follow the steps below:

    Go to the : \Documents and Settings\Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player folder. If you do not see this folder, you may need to enable Show hidden files and folders.

    To enable Show hidden files and folders:

    In Windows Explorer, click Tools and then click Folder Options.

    Click the view tab and select Show hidden files and folders.

    Right click on the Media Player folder and then click Properties.

    Click the Security tab. If your account name is not listed, click Add and add to the list of owners. You need to be logged in with administrator privileges to perform this step.

    Follow the steps to re-register the dll files below:

    1. click on start, in start search type CMD.

    2. right click on CMD in the list and click Run as administrator.

    3. in the command prompt type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then click OK.

    4. new type regsvr32 vbscript.dll, and then click OK.

    5 restart the computer.

    To share the files in Media Player, access the link below and follow the steps:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/925708

    You can also check out the link below which gives information on the media sharing:

    http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/079a4d8b-e19d-4d7f-BEF1-116cb711364c1033.mspx

    If the foregoing persists, run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe).  To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    2. type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

    The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • How to get support for Vista to reinstall? (Drive lost)

    I'm working on a PC that has a few problems that I decided that my next course of action was to reinstall vista. I checked the Disk Manager, and there is no separate partition. And the owner of the laptop has lost his drive to the copy of vista ultimate. supplied with the computer. However, we have the product registration key. Any help would be great.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    Having trouble getting a... product key for vista
    Original title: no start button
    From Internet Explorer
    Hello
    Microsoft sells more than Vista.
    You need to try Amazon.com.
    A word of warning; never buy product on their own keys.
    Always buy the complete package; DVDS, etc.
    Don't forget, extended Support for Vista ends in April next year, 2017.
    If the top is not your problem, because no button 'Start' is mentioned, more information is needed.
  • Update for VISTA Business automatically leads to not being able to open the attachment in Windows Mail
    After an automatic update from Microsoft for VISTA Business on July 16, I now can't open attachments in the reading of e-mail messages in Windows Mail.  An error message indicates that the file is not found.  I have now to save all attachments and open my files before I read attachments.  It's very frustrating.  I had a similar experience, only a couple of weeks where a parameter is passed by an automatic update to VISTA leading to read all the emails being hidden from view.  I had never seen that before and it cost me £40 to get DELL Technical Support to sort for me.  Microsoft should not do this kind of thing are they?  Should I just revert to the original system (I have to pay DELL to do it for me) and just not allow Microsoft Update VISTA more.  I have my own business, no IT support and I want to just use my easy notebook for standard applications.  Nothing complicated.  I can't afford to waste time and money sorting on my laptop when I should run my own business in very difficult times.  Thanks to anyone who can advise me.
    I understand exactly what you're saying.
    Try this with updates to uninstall the problem and change the eo settings you decide what it is installed:
    Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window
    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it

    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".

    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.

    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    And if you really need to go back to factory settings, save your self money.
    Dell recovery back to the means-to-do-it factory settings are listed below:
    Dell recovery options:
    http://supportapj.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/DSN/en/document?journalid=67E9C215C4BABD6CE040AE0AB5E14F05&docid=339949
    It's way to Dell to reinstall from the DVD on your computer.
    Answer the questions in blue; It is in a sequence.
    And that way if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive.
    See you soon.
  • 10 for Vista security updates do not settle. Have tried everything I can find on the web, here, difficulty-it... ad nauseam.
    Windows Update tried to install "10 updates important" for several days, and all have failed to install.  I have tried everything I can even, at one point, purchase ImproveSpeed that one of the web pages of Microsoft directed me, claiming that would fix it.  Nothing I've tried has solved the problem and I've tried everything but manually change the registry which I don't feel comfortable doing so.  I spent $ 40.00 for ImproveSpeed and that has not worked... Please, someone, please help.  This is nutz.
    Bob
    Something seems not good.
    Agreed.
    Did you ever get McAfee Security Center updated (for example, definitions)?
    Have you already followed steps #8, #9 & #10?
    You have a functional antivirus application (with updated definitions) installed now?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Rhea answer Desk technology, was correct: since "Mainstream support" for Vista SP2 ended on April 10, 2012, Microsoft offers is no longer support for security updates.  Similarly, MS has not offered this support to users of Windows XP to the last few years. [Yes, this is all very confusing!]

    PS: If a technician of the Office of response can not get your problem solved in the first 15 minutes (free), they will want to access your computer remotely in order to help you further (in most cases)- but only after you have paid the Premium support fees. Actually, I was very surprised to hear that McAfee won't charge you anything for their support - unless you had already purchased McAfee Total Protection.
