Support of IPv6 WRT610N?

Someone can tell me if our routers supports IPv6 or not?  I can't find any indication that it does.  If not, are there plans to update the firmware to support the new Protocol?  It is the gateway for my company, and a recent article I read suggests that Cisco has not begun adapting current products for IPv6.  I am not prepared to wait until the last minute for a firmware update of the stability concerns and would be forced to buy a product from another manufacturer.  And this being the case, this would be my last Cisco/Linksys product.  Since I was 30 of them throughout our activities all about the age of one year, is not a good investment for us.

Any idea that you can provide would be appreciated.

No, from now on none of the linksys routers support the IPv6 technology. But they are compatible with it. If you have an IPv6 protocol that is installed on your computer, then this router will work with it.

  • WRT610N and IpV6?

I have the last update of firmware posted the 1.0 model the WRT610N.  Test - ipv6.com is not reassuring, since pure IpV6 sites do not react, but I don't know if it's my router or some other problem.

The WRT610N will work correctly once IpV4 disappeared, or am I intended to buy another router?  Except if forced, I'm perfectly happy with this one.

    Thank you...

The WRT610N does not support IPv6.

But it doesn't matter. IPv4 has not disappeared. And will not disappear. At least for a very long time.

And as long as you don't need a site that is only accessible via IPv6 it won't matter anyway. And even in this case, Windows supports different IPv6 tunnels that allow your computer to use IPv6 even if your router is not.

  • Update Spa122 to IPv6

    Hello

The Spa122 data sheet says it s extensible to IPv6,

but I was not able to find any documentation on the procedure

    to do so.

It really works with IPv6? I need to purchase a license for

This feature enabled or that come with the purchase of the product?

Where is this upgrade procedure documented? How can I do?

    Thank you

Yes, it is expandable to IPv6 by IPv6-ready firmware. As far as I know, there is no such firmware out yet. And if I can express my personal opinion, it won't come out in the near future (a few years).

According to the IPv6 option mentioned in the data sheet, read

    #Document_Reference_Lost_See_Note_bellow

(old, but I would like it applicable even for newer devices)

    and

Support for IPv6 for the SPA series devices?

(after broken promises IPv6 is on the roadmap for the year 2012 Cisco strictly follow the law of silence on the IPv6 protocol)

But, on the other side, I would ask you - you'll connect to SPA on publicly accessible IP addresses? I think it is a dangerous approach even on IPv4.

  • QLE4062 and IPv6 on ESX 4.0

HW QLE4062 QLogic iSCSI card says on the site Web of Qlogic it supports IPv6, but when I log in vSphere and look at the map in the GUI, there is no way to put it in a discovery of IPv6 address.

I noticed if I get into the BIOs of the map I can sanboot iSCSI with it via IPv6, but once ESX support, I can't scan for additional LUNS outside lun 0.

    Is this normal?

    Thank you

    Holly,

There is no support for IPv6 ESX with QLogic cards.  Currently there is a bug for this for future versions.

ESX can't change what makes BIOS, so there is nothing to prevent the initialization of the storage of IPv6.

  • Network cards

I continue to have reset the network card on my computer running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.

Accordingly, review the Device Manager, I see that Microsoft ISATAP Adapter Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #2 and Pduedo-interface Teredo Tunneling devices start not (error code 10). A search for this on the Technet forum found advice to disable these devices by changing the registry, and my ISP only supports IPV4 (good).

However, it is recommended that the Microsoft Support site IPV6 is NOT disabled (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929852)! So now I'm confused. The deactivation of these adapters will improve the reliability of my network card, and if I do this, what will be the consequences of ignoring the Microsoft support advice.

Can someone explain also why advice on both sites seem to contradict each other, and that is correct?

    Thank you very much

    Hello Roger,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have problems with the version of intellectual property and the problems of network card in Windows. We will certainly help you with the same.

You are able to browse the internet?

Yes, you can follow the article mentioned below to disable IPv6 there is no problem using the internet settings. But always before proceeding with changes in registry as stated in the article take a backup. Please see the note for taking backup.

How to disable IPv6 or its components in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929852

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    Registry backup

In addition, you can perform the following steps to enable IPV4/IPV6 addresses.

    a. open the "network connections" window, right-click "Local area connection" and click on Properties.

    b. Select "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and "Protocol Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)"

    c. click OK.

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to write us again for assistance and we will be happy to help you come.
