Support page

I had to show some help content to a partner today on AE CS5 and is came through official support page here: http://www.Adobe.com/support/AfterEffects/

So I started looking for a link to the official help page in the right hand navigation menu, which looks to where all the important links are. Could not find. Looked briefly around away without noticing the small link at the bottom of the left column.

So, as I did not, I came back to the navigation menu to check if it was there, but now. So I clicked on the 'further help' button and finally found it here.

Sorry, but how can you say that 'Official' aid is a 'further help '. Of course, I missed the link in the left column, but it's so small that I had not seen.

Seriously, how is it possible that the official support page doesn't have a link to the help files real inside navigation main bar? How can it be hidden under a button 'further help '?

I'll be really honest here. CS5 is a major release and I'm very happy about it, but aid experience is catastrophic. No table of contents of the official aid, link hidden on the official support page. You would eliminate the official you could not do better than that. And I don't even mean CHC does not properly.

I'm really angry at the way in which it became very difficult to access accurate information you know where it is. This isn't the level of quality I would expect from a company like Adobe.

I know that I've already complained in the old forum on the deletion of the table of contents without replacing any viable solution making a bad browsing experience, and for this I can understand that you want to hide, but it's a big step back from CS4. And it's a major letdown.

Hi Sebastian,.

Thanks for the screenshots. Here's what's happening;

1 help AE must be reinstalled from the page to install an app community help AIR: www.adobe.com/support/chc. Close/exit help community app. On the page install, select After Effects in the drop-down product menu, and then click install now. In the application setup program dialog box, click Open, and then run now since you already have the latest version installed. This will update the installed HP application to include the AE content help. Add more products if you want the suite the same workflow. Click on the home button and you should see the icon of the AE. The CHC homepage gives you access using the product all products installed on your system.

2. the content of Bridge you are looking for is in the help system: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/creativesuite/cs/using/WSEC5DD830-699C-4edb-9615-4E369166A440a .html

It could be a matter of search term. I tried to search on "Tools menu in Bridge" and the best result was also above.

Bridge content is also indexed together with products like Photoshop, if you if you have Photoshop (or after effects, etc.) chosen as product, returns will include subjects of bridge (which is what shows the attached screenshot).

If they navigate to the content of Bridge, note that for CS5 it is organized under a heading of Creative Suite on product help home pages. You can also find Creative Suite (and fill) subjects of all the home pages product bridge, such as Photoshop's built-in help. Click on the link to the Creative Suite, just below "with the help of Photoshop" and you will see an Adobe Bridge section in the table of contents.

3. the main reason that the table of contents is not on every page of the topic is that we want "REAL help" to offer more content reference Adobe. The homepage for CS5 and soft AIR of community support, is a beginning in this direction and will continue to evolve to provide navigation options that serve a diverse products and users group. We have offered a new Panel of search in the app community help AIR that allows the display of the content and results at the same time and allows users to products like the Flash of research across most of 10 help from Adobe for their product collections. We use a range of methods of user research to understand where users have difficulty and try to answer the most use cases. We chose not to dominate the content experience with several persistent navigation systems. We understand that you have a method of navigation that works for you, and you put a value using Adobe, which is also appreciated.

FYI, for the sake of other reading: The Adobe help OCD is not on every page of the help topic, but are available in these 4 ways:

-Help as a package over Ariane

-Home link in navigation bar

-Title of the product in the bar of

Icon - CHC «Home» chrome app

I hope that gives you a little more context for change.

Best regards

-Laura
