  I am getting up an old laptop and running.  It's a nc6000 running XP Pro I have validated by phone.

  The problem is that I can't connect to the internet.  There is a list of missing drivers such as an Ethernet controller in Device Manager.

  I tried to download them by visiting the HP support site, and although there is a page of drivers dedicated to the nc6000 running XP Pro every time I click on 'Download' it says 'Page cannot be displayed ".   I tried IE, Firefox and Chrome, but the same error message appears.

  Will you please help me find the necessary drivers, so I can connect to the internet or through LAN or WLAN network.

  Whenever I install Windows XP on it, I have to go to the Dell support site and get the chipset drivers Intel, network, audio and video for all the work.  XP is the original version, and then I have to install the SP2, SP3 followed.

  Should I do the same thing during the installation of Windows 7?  Get the drivers for the various components to work?  Or Windows 7 will make installation much simpler?

  Your best option will be to run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.  This will give you a screen that will tell you which drivers will be required as appropriate with what program incompatibilities there might be.

  I did some research and found this link contains driver HD Audio Windows (generic), although this is not necessary if the drivers realtek audio have already been updated.

  If the helmet works on another device and still does not work on this computer, it is possible port is faulty.

  I have restored my ssd from disks that I made the computer when I bought it and I did everything I know to do and can not get the hp support site to give me a list of drivers for that computer. I know there must be some updated drivers for the computer 3 years, but I don't know how to get them and it is interfiering with other programs or drivers that need updated drivers that I can't.   It's somewhat austere course - this isn't the site of HP, so you won't see the full Support pages of manuals, operating instructions and troubleshooting.

  I checked the other models - those I previously checked watch this site matches the drivers supplied by HP for the model and the version of the OS.
