Supported in OEM version.

I'm not allowed to get Microsoft help because I have an OEM of Windows 7 64 bit version.  The support page says simply to contact the supplier/manufacturer of the PC.  I built it myself.  Seems a bit odd.  What can I do about it?

I wanted just to point out that their 'tris' algorithms are incorrect for future generations.

In this case, you are indeed OEM because you built the computer and installed a version of Windows OEM.

You the best support method is to use the Microsoft Community forums like you did right in this post.

OEM licenses must be installed by professional system manufacturers. Under Microsoft's OEM license agreement, they should not be sold to end-users under any circumstances, must be preinstalled on a computer using the preinstallation OEM (OPK) before delivery to the customer and include to the at least the manufacturer contact information. They are, therefore, designed for installation only on a single computer and are not transferable, even if the original computer is no longer in use. This isn't usually a problem for users who buy a new computer, because systems that most pre-assembled systems ship with a preinstalled operating system. There are very few circumstances where Microsoft will allow the transfer of licensed OEM for a non-functional system to another, but the OEM System Builder License Agreement (SBLA), as well as the EULA (EULA) OEM contract don't contain any provision for this, it is entirely at the discretion of Microsoft, depending on the situation

  • I bought windows 7 ultimate retail version, but my computer recognizes it as OEM version.

    Hello

As I wrote, my computer recognized new window 7 ultimate retail.

    Is this possible?

and MS CS said it's the OEM pre-installed version, but I just installed with the new computer.

    I don't understand how that's possible.

I just click that activation then she recognized as OEM.

    sample number is lower.

    *****-OEM-*******-*****

    This means OEM?

and I tried to download windows 7 to make it bootable USB, but it has an error that this key is pre-installed key. So I need to contact the manufacturer. But my computer is assembled by myself.

    How is that possible?

    Someone had the same problem?

    Thank you.

Looks like you might have bought an OEM System Builder License.

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

  • Can I install my W7 Pro on a W7 prem-oem version that is installed on my HP Pc?

    HelloW!
Sorry for my bad English {it is not my native language} and I will try to be as clear as possible with my question.

    I bought HP Desktop in 2012 {with 2 hard drives, (c) & (E :) who already had an oem version of Windows 7 premium (x 64) installed.}

The thing is now that my pc is slow & I want to do a clean install, but I don't want to install the version of Windows HP oem but my Windows 7 Professional (x 64).

My question: can I install my W7 pro during the latest oem with a formatting HD {or what it's called in English}? I've never done before, so I'm kinda a noob. A site Dutch, there was also a suggestion to format the HD first, then I need to go to my BIOS and change the settings of my BR_rom in master etc. otherwise the installation cd does not work... etc.
    * UM *.

without the BIOS thing, I was wondering if it is possible to simply * my W7 version on the version W7oem without having any problems.

    Thank you.

Have you done your recovery disks according to the instructions from HP? If this is not the case, what to do now.

You won't gain much by installing your version of win7 pro rather than the version provided by HP. If you install your version it will be via install a clean place, you start on the cd of win and early in the process when you have the possibility to the place where you install delete all partitions found on C: then continue installation to utalise all the space of the C: drive. After that you will need to install the drivers of HP support system

Using this method any partition hidden HP recovery & tools will be destroyed and all on the PC

(If you have used the HP recovery disk to return to factory settings, the drivers would be installed as part of the process)

  • Window 7 teacher (oem version)

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Purchase Windows 7 OEM version or commercial full consumer?

In the run-up to the deadline of the end of support April XP, I get a lot of requests for information on upgrading to Windows 7. If you look at the Amazon price, the full commercial version is at least double the OEM version. The presentation text says that the OEM version for systems integrators. This is me. However, I wonder do these updates by consumers. Buy the OEM version for them? Thank you, Charlie Lewis.

OEM version is less expensive, but keep in mind that once installed his attachment to this specific computer / motherboard you installed on. And Yes, you can buy and use the OEM version. More on this later in my post.

Keep in mind that the transition from XP to Windows 7 requires a 'custom' / clean install. Therefor, all that the data files of your customers (Documents, Photos, music, Etc.) must be stored on external media before you start the upgrade. Applications must be reinstalled on the assumption that they are compatible with Windows 7.

More important, you will need to check that there is no Windows 7 device drivers are available for the computer that you want to upgrade. If no driver for Windows 7 is listed on the web site of the manufacturer of the PC or the motherboard, then chances are Windows 7 will not work correctly.

You can test the client computer by pulling on their hard drive, a device you have available and try to install a "Retail" Windows 7 version (make an installation without key, any key or activation is required and you have 30 days to test the whole) to see if it installs and runs correctly. In this way, you do not lose an OEM product key only to discover 7 do not play on their computer.

Windows 8.1 is not in my view an acceptable solution for several reasons:

    (1) the user interface isn't somehow as Office XP.

    (2) drivers for Windows 8 are even less likely to be available.

    (3) the client applications are in all likelihood is not compatible with Windows 8 / 8.1

  • Update OEM version Windows 7 to Windows 7 Pro using Windows Anytime upgrade

I have an Asus laptop with Win 7 Home premium OEM version, I downloaded a version of win 7 pro, when you try to use the anytime upgrade, he says - the key entered is for an edition of windows that does not work with anytime upgrades - when I boot from a USB key and select to upgrade it tells me to use the windows anytime upgrade option. I really want to get this working so I can use my Microsoft virtual machine for the school, because it will not work on home premium.

Where did you purchase your license of Windows 7 Professional?

What is a retail upgrade or full version?

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

Please note that the Express upgrade does not support OEM, MSDN-Academic, Volume (the student faculty licenses) license. If you are in possession of all these brackets, you will need to save and do a custom clean install. If you want to do it, please backup your Windows 7 Home Premium or according to edition currently installed. Some licenses for Windows distributed to tertiary level students are not perpetual, which means that you cannot continue to use the software after a course or graduating.

The 'volume' is a hard disk, a partition on a hard drive or a storage as a USB device.

If the volume of the device / it records on a summer formatted to allow 'versioning', you will be able to use Time Machine to open previous versions of your document. If it has not been formatted like that, you get the message see you, and only the current version of the document will be saved.
