suspicious virus not identified by MSE

Wordpad in my laptop files increase exponentially in size (a single file of about 1 MB has reached a size of 500 MB in a few record operations, with changes very nominal.) Although I have have reported to MSE, there is no feedback and my problem remains. Any suggestions?

If you think that maybe it's a virus, update your MSE AV definition files, and then run a full scan with it. Then download, install, update (by right clicking on its icon and 'run as administrator' then go to the update tab) and run a complete scan with free malwarebytes.

Then try to scan manually one or two of these large files by themselves by double clicking on them and scan with MSE, then Malwarebytes (after having checked and updated both programs).

Is - this report malware scan?

Are these documents more if you come to open them and save, and then close (repeat several times), or after a change to the document? You simply add a few lines of text or a lot of text AND some photos? You save documents in what format?

You could also try to create a "dummy" document that exposes your problem but with no sensitive or identifying data inside, and once he starts more and more, transfer it to Virus Total. for checking it.

If, after scanning with the above, nothing is reported and you always suspect a virus, try:

PS - it may be an idea to save all the data you need to keep all first, just in case. Just to be safe.

It is unlikely that all damages that are left behind.

Restore the system to factory settings.  Update all drivers hardware devices with the appropriate constructors.  Update the operating system completely patched.  Install applications of your backups of installation media and series/product numbers keys.  Updated all of the latest patches.  Restore all your personal data.  Enjoy your own and probably faster running machine.

I suggest you also protect it with a compbination of eSet NOD32 AntiVirus and MalwareBytes (paid version) to ~ 85USD for the first two years and ~ $60 every two years after.  One of the best combination of performance and protection, I found.

  • Satellite A135-S2356 - BIOS will not identify SATA hard

Hello everyone, hope you can help out me.

Got a Satellite A135-2356 opportunity, everything seems fine but BIOS will not identify SATA HDD, shows no disk BIOS downgraded to 1.30, not good, upgraded to 1.40, not good. BIOS has no change/test/detection of HDD/SATA settings options. Tested the drive in another laptop and it reads very well. Received the Toshiba (Vista Basic 32) recovery CD, but given that the BIOS will not read the disk, can't do anything. Cleaned contacts, not good. This HARD disk must be too large, or something for the Board of Directors.

    * Hitachi HTS541612J9SA00 120 GB SATA, 5400 RPM *.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello Richie

To be honest, I do not think the disc is too big for your laptop. I can imagine that your laptop can handle with drives of 160 GB too. Unfortunately there is no public document on the possibilities of HARD drive upgrade. I can imagine that ASP in your country has information about such things.

It's also quite strange that HDD is not recognized correctly. Long ago, I had the same problem. Every time when I used F12 at startup disk HARD were not as boot device. Solution in my case was to upgrade the BIOS to the default settings. I believe that your BIOS has already the default settings, but try to do it again.

  • HP laptop - 15-ac126tx: 15-ac126tx wifi connection not identified and not Internet

    Hello

I bought a new laptop with windows 10(64bit) and tried to connect to my wifi at home. But he kept having network as "not identified" with the limited connections icon. Same thing with ethernet connection. I'm sure this isn't my router, I have my desktop and mobile on wifi and ethernet and they work, although they are windows 7. My mobile office with windows 8 also connects very well.

Here is the screenshot of HP Network Diagnostics. I tried "update driver", download fresh drivers from the HP site , reset, re and uninstall drivers install them, disable firewall and all that... With a lot of work around, I was able to update windows and Support from HP who invited to download drivers and other things... All this and yet the results of sam.

IP of Windows Setup (ignore Ethernet 2 because it's my mobile access point). For some reason, it doesn't auto IP from the router.

    Hey,.

I got this resolved!  I hade to call to the ISP provider and it reset the router for me. The type of connection to the router has been "Sylvie", that has worked well for all systems prior to windows 10. Now it has changed to "PPoP creds with everthing. This is done, restart the router, set the system to get the automatic IP address.

    Trobuleshooting as follows:

-If you set your IPV4 IP and DNS IP manually and who gets your laptop computer conencted then the above solution will work for you.

    HOW CAN I FIX IT?

    Hello

Please do NOT post in all capitals.

What do you use for security?

If you are using an Internet Security Suite, it will have its own firewall and disables the default Windows Firewall.

And you should have only one firewall to avoid problems related to the operating system.

Looks like you have rogue malware (malicious software posing as something good, but it's obviously not!). Give us the COMPLETE messages that see you. Then, we can help you with the specific removal instructions. Here is an example:

  • "Due to a problem not identified, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings" when you try to change the Windows Firewall settings.

    Original title: WINDOWS firewall

I GET A MESSAGE WHEN I TRY TO CHANGE THE WINDOWS FIREWALL SETTINGS - "DUE TO A PROBLEM NOT IDENTIFIED, WINDOWS CANNOT DISPLAY WINDOWS FIREWALL SETTINGS. HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

IN ADDITION, I USE AVG INTERNET SECURITY 2013 AND THAT THE FIREWALL IS ENABLED AND I SEEM TO BE PROTECTED.

Documentation AVG Internet Security 2013 States:

    Recommendation:

Generally it is not recommended to use more than one firewall on a single computer. Computer security is not enhanced if you install several firewalls. It is more likely that some conflicts between these two applications will occur. Therefore, we recommend that you use only one firewall on your computer and disable all others, thus eliminating the risk of potential conflicts and problems related to this.

You can read the AVG documentation by clicking on this link, and see section 6.5:

    http://AA-download.Avg.com/filedir/doc/AVG_Internet_Security/avg_isc_uma_en_2013_06.PDF

So, if you are using AVG firewall, it's wise to just disable the XP firewall for more than a firewall running at the same time can lead to performance problems.  Choose one or the other, but not both.

I thought installing AVG would understand this by itself, and you know what to do (used to) but I do not want to install AVG to see.

System resources, such as file of data, even in the data memory and registry data, can develop inconsistencies during the lifecycle of the operating system.

These contradictions may be caused by various hardware failures or can be caused by software problems.

In some cases, these inconsistencies can affect the Windows Service store, and they can cause software updates not do not work.

The system update tool attempts to resolve these inconsistencies.

After you download the system update tool, it runs a unique analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.

This analysis usually takes less than 15 minutes to run.

However, the tool might take significantly longer on some computers.

The Windows Update progress bar is not updated during the analysis and progress seems to stop at 60% complete for some time.

    This behavior is expected.

The scan is still running and you should not cancel the update.

I can't even connect wirelessly, and yet my laptop is fine with both. It was not identified until I restored the a few days before, and now he has no connection whatsoever. Type of emergency because my business is at a standstill right now because of this.  Edit: Where you plug your cable internet on your computer, it normally has a flashing beside him, but it currently isn't. I can plug the wire into my laptop and it works fine, but not with the office. So I know this isn't a problem of modem/router, it's a computer problem.
