Swap ATI 2600 Pro w/2400?

Hello

I have an iMac mid-2007 with an ATI Radeon 2600 Pro. The system has been great! Unfortunately, yesterday I thought he was asleep, but it is a black screen

I did everything I could find online - command/option/r/p...power off the power, unplug, hold down the power button / stop, etc... multiple times. It starts up, it works very well - until the screen

becomes black. Watch a movie, I can still hear in market, so the rest of the system seems fine.

At the moment I took the HD on the 24 "and put it in this 20" I hit now. This seems to be a pretty solid solution and confirms - until now - it's a hardware problem.

In this iMac 20 ", I have an ATI Radeon 2400 with 128 MB and it seems quite acceptable. But - I'd rather have my 24 "operational.

So, can I place this ATI 2400 since early 2008 20 "iMac on my iMac 24 mid-2007"? And, if applicable, any really good vids how? Laughing out loud

I ask because I've got the 24 "outside, a mother/logic, totally disconnected map with the exception of a single cable that I'm not 100% sure how it disconnects (if you encounter in the system is in the lower right section under the logic board and seems to be connected with a certain type of black cloth glued and I hesitated to yank/cut/pull!).

Thanks for any advice at all!

Rob

I would check this site:

https://www.iFixit.com/

They have full instructions and could probably advise you about the graphics card.

Nothing works. But at least now I know why. The CODECS provided by ATI are not compatible with XP MCE (they claim they do, but if they do not, they are not software of care-it). After searching around, I finally found some that worked, but only after I had installed a comprehensive system. After a bit, I guess the resgistry became a litte crowded and absolutely nothing can fix this. After you have reinstalled THREE TIMES, I finally found that working codecs -http://shark007.net/ (work with XP Vista CODECS) to FIRST USE CELLES-CI! If you crowd with too many CODECS NOTHING WORK SHORT OF A REINSTALLERA! (at least that I have found)

    Hello

The laptop supports the Mobility Radeon X 2400 code name: M72
    It supports 32bit@64MB Local Cache.
Total video/graphic memory is the sum of the local cache and Hyper memory.

For example, memory Hyper depending on the installed RAM.
You would get 256 MB memory hyper if system RAM would be 1024Mo
2 GB of RAM using hyper memory should be more I think that something about 300 MB.

Total graphics memory would be so local cache 64MB + ~ 300 MB of memory hyper-~ 364MB of graphics ram

    Hi guy,

You * should * be able to change it in the bios and if not in the BIOS then your machine changes depending on the amount of RAM you install in your Satellite. The more RAM you install VRAM shared more you will get. She's.

    OR

Otherwise there is no chance to change the size of the RAM.

  • A Mac Pro 2008 work well with El Capitan?

I found a xeon 2008 8 - core 2.8 GHz refurbished Mac Pro with 32 GB of ram and el capitan as, sold for 600 euros, my question is, if I buy it and put an SSD of 500 GB in it, how would that work? I could use it with a full hd screen? wouldn't be better than the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro 13 inch retina?

With the stock graphics card, 2008 would be poor in app related to graphic design as a recent MacBook Pro.  Difference in litter with a Mac Air.

The 2008 with original graphics card will support 2560 x 1600

Problem with the 2008 (and 2009), is that which concerns the mac Pro line, only the 2010 and later Sierra will run.

Also in 2006-2008 Mac Pro memory run hot and frequently fail with age.  The original of the graphics card, ATI 2600 XT also do either with time.

  • Need Win7 32/64 driver for ATI HD2600 on Satellite A210

I bought a Toshiba Satellite A210 - 16G, PSAELE, pay a lot for this baby, but the support from toshiba is the worst, no update of drivers do nothing.
On ati mobile drivers there, but apparently not for Toshiba, Toshiba doesn't want users update their drivers...
My video is ati hd 2600 pro, 256 MB...
I couldn't use my card in win7 blue screen error again and again error video memory, etc.

    This is my problem:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=50036

Installed win7 64, but does not install ati drivers (those mobile ATI official site), or others, I tried many things, same mobility modder, no pass, after restart without driver installation.

We need bios fix for this problem and drivers update, at least for ati chipset, ati video drivers, blueetooth.

I got this laptop for 2 years, today, there are 4-5 64 biti pilots... is not good for customers who pay a lot for it.
If I know that Toshiba does not update their drivers, I buyed an Asus or Dell, these thousands of pilots has...

It's amazing, the Explorer freeze again and again, until I am force to reset because the drivers... Vista is also bad, Toshiba as well support, at least in Romania.
We need drivers for WINDOWS 7, it's the future. Even Microsoft knows that Vista are zero and their Win7 release.
I did not understand why when you buy a laptop, you are forced to use their drivers, and after a few months, these drivers updates never... why we are force to use the old drivers?
For lan, sound, etc., we could use generic drivers (from realtek, etc.) but not for the video, chipset, etc.

Oh man there is so many things you don't understand and I don t know where to start with explanations. In any case, I'll write a personal opinion on all of this.

You bought the laptop two years ago and in that time, it was designed to work with newer OS at the moment. Is Windows Vista. I'm sure that it worked well and all the hardware components have been configured correctly. I don t want to discuss the performance of Vista, because it is not s Toshiba product. Toshiba offers equipment and additional software. It's nothing more than that.

I use Toshiba laptops for 10 years now and in these 10 years, I've worked on several different laptop models. Laptop was Satellite P200. I have had with Vista too, and until last month, I've worked with Vista without any problems. LAN was OK, sound was OK, graphic was OK, WLAN was OK, OK webcam. in two years of use, I installed OS just twice worked all the time with the Toshiba recovery image. So if everything works well and the laptop runs stabile why I updated?

When I read your ad, you expect that offers Toshiba updates every month or what. Why?
Why have most recent audio driver if the sound works perfectly? Why have updated driver for chipset if something like this is not necessary? What do you need? More performance? More stability? What exactly?

What about support? It is always very interesting theme. You know, since Win7 is the market I have visited several other laptop manufacturers support pages and I must say that the situation is not different than on the Toshiba site. To be honest, their pages are sometimes quite confusing without clear structure and the driver information.
Best example has display driver download. You are right, they offered more pilots display and real versions but often with additional penalty: use at your own risk only. Support isn't it?

To discuss on the Toshiba support, you must be honest and objective. The older models as your A210 or my old Satellite P200 are supported for Win7 but only 32-bit version. Where is the problem? OK I have old piece of hardware, but Toshiba supports me for more recent operating system. Should not be 64-bit version, but I can still use 32-bit with all the necessary drivers.

In front of me, I have brand new Satellite P500 with Win7 64 bit and on my right side older Satellite A300 with Win7 32 bit. You know what? Two runs perfectly and there is no much difference in performance of the laptop. Having good knowledge on systems operating and a few good tips you can configure the preinstalled operating system to run like a rocket. ;)

Install Win7 32 bits on your machine. Install all the necessary drivers and Toshiba stuff specific. Optimize and you will be happy with it. I'm sure on this subject.

    Bye and good luck.

  • 2 MagSafe charger or Macbook Pro problem

Hello! I recently bought a Macbook Pro of the retina (at the beginning of 2015) here in Singapore, with the prepackaged MagSafe 2 charger with it. I always charge my computer while using it, and usually, my uses are extremely lightweight.

Well, here's the problem... Yesterday, when I was about to plug my charger to my Macbook, I realized that there are very obvious stains in the Macbook port itself. Look at the head of the charger, it is not even and seems to have slightly burnt and melted.

I am still able to load and use my computer very well, but I fear that if this continues, this degrades quickly in the fire. My sister advised me to swap the Macbook Pro itself for a new one, which I suppose is possible through discoloration, but despite everything, is the Macbook Pro the problem? Reading the various forums online suggests that this is the problem with the MagSafe 2 magazine.

Please share some thoughts, thank you!

"Recently" may be in a period of Exchange or not.  Whatever it is, you have at least a 1 year warranty (AppleCare that extends to 3) and you must use to find the answer before it becomes more than a gene and damage the MBP.

  • Satellite P200 - 17 c: how to change the dedicated video memory of Radeon HD 2400

I just bought a Satellite P200 - 17 c. The ati mobility radeon HD 2400 grafic card was supposedly 895 MB.
However since I found the card has 128 MB of video memory dedicated.

Can I pass it and if so with what?

I would like to add a few details.

On my L30 with ATI graphics and a Vista I m capable of changing some graphical settings of the graphics card ATI catalyst.
You can choose between quality and performance.

Play games, I noticed that it of better spend some controls performance. Then some games works well

  • P.Pro 1.5 - quality lost in AVI/MPEG to DVD conversion

    Hello world.

Is my first time in the Adobe forums and my English is definitely not the best, so apologize for something I'll eventually do wrong :-)

    This is my problem:
I have change a large number of videos (parties, weddings, karting,...) of Mini-DV tapes. No problem on the editing work, or export to AVI or MPEG format. And at this point (after export) I don't think that I had lost a quality video or if had that would be slight. But when I finish the next step (to convert the file to DVD format) I realize that the video suffers from a substantial quality lost, mainly a distortion on the white (they get much more bright and, of course, lose a part of its texture). Not always, is also a kind of yellow and Red thin lines on 'objects' shape (mainly on human faces).

Initially I thought noting on the creation and all about the conversion of AVI/MPEG to DVD because that's when the problem occurs, but after I had experienced all kinds of conversion software and the problem runs hourly (sometimes more, sometimes less), I'm thinking maybe the problem in the first export of parameters.

So here's my first export of parameters:

Export to AVI: file-> export-> animation
    Some important parameters:

General: File Type: MS DV AVI

Video: Compressor: DV (PAL) - I'm in Portugal (Europe)

    Frame rate: 25 fps
Format of the pixels: D1/DV PAL (1,067)
    Recompression: Maintain the data rate
Keyframe and rendered: bottom field first
    Optimize stills
(don't have deinterlacing video marked images)
Audio: Uncompressed, 48,000 Hz, 16 bit, stereo, 1 frame

Export to MPEG: file-> export-> Adobe Media Encoder
    Some important parameters:

    Format: MPEG2-DVD
Screening: Custom (DV PAL 4 x 3, 4 MB of high quality VBR 2 Pass)
    Video summary:
    Codec: MainConcept MPEG video
    Quality: 5.0 (high quality)
    TV standard: PAL
    Frame rate [fps]: 25
    Order the field: bass
    Aspect Ratio: 4:3
    Width [pixels] frame: 720
    Frame height [pixels]: 576
    Encoding Bitrate: VBR, 2 Pass
    IFN [Mbps]: 1,5000 (low quality)
Flow target [Mbps]: 4.0000 (low quality)
Maximum bitrate [Mbps]: 7,0000 (high quality)
    M frames: 3
    N frames: 12

    Summary of the audio:
    Audio format: PCM
    Codec: PCM Audio
    Sample size: 16 bit
    Frequency: 48 kHz

    Summary of multiplexer:
    Multiplexing: DVD

I also thought that the problem could be on the material, but a few months ago, I did an update on my computer and changed CPU, motherboard, RAM and graphics card (had an AMD Sempron 2800 +, 2 GB DDR and an ATI 9600 Pro 128 MB) and the problem still remains...

In fact, I think that it fits all needs:

    Processor: Dual-Core Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

Motherboard: ASRock 4CoreDual-Sata2 (chipset: VIA Apollo PT880 Pro)

    RAM: 2 x 1 GB DDR2

Graphics card: Asus EAH2600 512 MB

    Windows XP Pro with SP2

I love all the time CPU will spend for the task - before the upgrade it tooks aprox. 5 hours to convert a video and now it tooks only 1h30m :-). What is really important is to get as much quality DVD video may be possible. Can you help me?

Maybe someone already asked something like my problem. If so, please excuse me and give me the link to this question.

A big thank you to all of you in advance.

Target rate of 4.0 Mbps can be too low, according to the length of your timeline, so use a bitrate like this calculator: http://dvd-hq.info/bitrate_calculator.php?PHPSESSID=6501b6b2b31f4c4a295bc8c2ba1e6f57#Calcu lator

  • Video hierarchy card Guide 2014; complete list of the best scene cards, upgrade, Radeon vs nVidia etc.

Tom's hardware is a well known respected pc enthusiast site. Here are links to their hierarchy Guide 2014 video card, which gives a general ranking of the most popular cards & performance-at-a-glance up and down. It's a good way to generalize where your current card is compared to the other models, the two old & new; vs State renamed Hall-of-shame if you want... This is a guide of qwik for what model (s) to be on the lookout for when it's time to upgrade. Once again, a good general hierarchy, not a list of alpha omega.

    • a useful comparison of side-by-side of nVidia performance against AMD Radeon

When you browse it, in a word think cards discreet as who you are physically in your hand, integrated cards are we-board/built-in to the mthrbrd, mobile for laptops, etc.

It is an 8-part article, see the full article for more general information about video cards.

Thanks for posting Cass Ole. The different levels, groups and compare machine is useful.

Notice that it goes all the way back to nVidia TNT and ATI Rage 128. I had both machines at the time... some of the AMP first slot cards, IIRC. So proud of them because they were top-of-the-line at the time.

  • flashing desktop iMac computer

    10.11.6 OSx
    iMac 24 inch mid-2007
ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB

This afternoon there was a close call of thunder/lightning. I didn't know the brief storm coming, but the computer worked always fine afterwards. I stopped it immediately.

Flashes when I restarted the desktop computer. Nothing I've done has stopped - mainly just restart and run Disk Doctor (for lack of other ideas).

Windows Flash not, than the office. I can't up the launch bar and I can't change between desktops and split screen does not work.

    Any ideas please?

Repair the disk for El Capitan

    1. Restart the computer and after the chime hold down the command and R until the Utility Menu appears.
    2. Disk utility and click on the continue button.
    3. Then select layouts withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) entry of the volume of the list to one side.
    4. Click the first aid tab on the toolbar and wait for the fact button to activate. Click it, and then quit disk utility.
    5. Select restart from the Apple menu.

If the above does not help, then follow these steps:
