SWF to exe aw7 - crashing in Vista

I created a CBT product that integrates the different scenes (swf). It works fine under XP and earlier versions, but when it is deployed to Vista that it experiences random crashes while playing the different swf. By chance, I mean: once, it can be routed all the scenes perfectly, but to re - entry of it can stop partially by the 2nd swf or next time halfway through the 1st or 5th.

It is an error that is generated:

"Authorware Runtime has stopped working"
Problem event name: APPCRASH
AppName: Mod1.exe
AppVer:7.02.0
Application timestamp: 406171.ea
Fault Module name: FLASHAST. X 32
Fault Module Version: 9.0.0.183
Timestamp of Module error: 3d776de7
Exception code: c0000005
ExceptionOffset: 00095990
OS version: 6.0.6000.2.0.256.6

I tried to replace the FLASHAST. X 32, but it still crashes.

Any suggestions as to why which occur only in the environment of Vista? or what I can do to correct the situation.

Thanks to Steve Howard and Mike Baker, I have now playing in Vista swf movies. Other tests (Steve and I) a simple file using flash support (insert > media > flash animation) and an embedded swf has indicated that the problem is, as Mike suggested,... a buffer of saturation in the Flash Asset Xtra. As suggested, I went to the Flash ActiveX (insert > control > ActiveX (Shockwave Flash Object) and called in the external swf and it now works fine...)

Thanks for the help. It's really appreciated

    Startup Repair: frequently asked questions

Here are answers to some common questions about startup repair.

    What is the Startup Repair?

Startup Repair is a Windows Recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged, that might prevent Windows from starting correctly. When you run the Startup Repair, it scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so that your computer can start correctly.

If you experience problems when you attempt to run the Startup Repair tool, or if your computer does not have the Startup Repair, your computer manufacturer can have customized or replaced the tool. See the documentation provided with your computer or go to the manufacturer's Web site.

    How to use Startup Repair?

Startup Repair is located on the System Recovery Options menu, which is on the Windows installation disc. Startup Repair can also be installed on your drive hard if your computer has preinstalled recovery options. Startup Repair can invite you to make choices as it tries to solve the problem, and if necessary, it may restart your computer, because it makes the repairs.

If you have a Windows installation disc:

    1. Insert the installation disc. If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer.

    2. Restart your computer.

Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

    3. Choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    4. Click on repair your computer.

    5. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. In the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair.

If your computer has preinstalled recovery options:

    1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

    2. Do one of the following:

      • If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again.

      • If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.

    3. In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight repair your computer and press ENTER.

    4. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.

    5. Select a user name and password, and then click OK.

    6. In the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair.

Are there problems Startup Repair cannot fix?

Startup Repair cannot fix hardware failures or certain types of virus attacks. It is not a backup tool, so it cannot help you recover personal files, such as photos or documents. To help protect your computer, back up your system and your files regularly. For more information, search for "backup" in Help and Support.

What happens if startup repair is unable to solve my problem?

If the repairs are not successful, you will see a summary of the problem and links to contact for support information. Your computer manufacturer may include additional support information.

Also on the screen where you choose the Startup Repair, you can also choose command prompt. Type this (it's a single line)

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then

AFAIK, you can disable and enable this Toshiba flash Cards under programs-> Toshiba-> Utilities-> settings for Flash cards

    Hi farrelldoc,

    1. What is the error message you receive library breaks down?

    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    3. what Microsoft fixit did you run on the computer?

There is a known issue on some computers that have a chain very long user agent in Windows Internet Explorer. This problem occurs when the user-agent string exceeds 260 characters. There is currently no work around supported for that matter.

For more information, see the Microsoft article and try the steps mentioned below.

Known issues and limitations of Netflix on Windows Media Center for Windows Vista

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/972496

For the Windows media center crashes when viewing other media issue try the following procedure.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

Just checking to make sure that this should have happened (the msiexec.exe have disclosed as having executed) I have just never that seen before what installation monthly microsoft updates or when the other microsoft updates race

Don't know but perhaps because KB2164913 is a Silverlight upgrade, not a status update (e.g. v3.x-4.x Silverlight online-Silverlight).

You could ask in the forum: http://forums.silverlight.net/forums/13.aspx

    Or contact the Norton Support.
