Switching to Photoshop CS5 from my PC to my Mac.

I just got a new mac and want to put my photoshop CS5 on it instead of my old PC. Is it possible to get my license from a PC to a new computer?

Thank you!

There is, but not for CS5 more.

Adobe has a transfer platform (for perpetual license products) procedure by which you may terminate your license Windows and swap to a Mac license, but it applies only to the current versions of the software (CS6)

CC products are all cross-platform, so they can be installed on Mac or Windows.

  • Upgrade to Photoshop CS5 from CS3/CS2/6.0

I bought Adobe Photoshop 6.0, then upgraded to CS2, CS3 then.

    Can I upgrade to CS5?

If so, can I install the trial version and activate it later once I have the key?

Given that the key is a key to upgrade, what happens to ask to verify the fact that the CS3 version (which was an upgrade) was based on a commercial version full?

The reason for all these questions, it's that I'll be upgrading to Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. I would just install Photoshop CS5 and try it, then order the update to complete the installation later. I am concerned about an upgrade is not appropriate (1) and the need to install Photoshop CS3 completely and then run the update to CS5. If I have to, I can just install CS3 after my upgrade from Windows.

Thanks in advance for your answers. While I've seen a few questions about the upgrade, I missed this specific scenario if it has been previously published.

The upgrade process is really very simple these days - even on a new box that was ever installed Adobe.

Upgrades are full as versions once installed. During the installation of updates, all that matters is that you have a serial number to a version more early qualifying practice - Adobe gave to it followed all the way back to your full version, which can be up to 20 years ago. Update serial numbers can only be verified by serial up to 3 versions back numbers anyway, so Photoshop CS is not eligible for a CS5 upgrade.

There is no need to install older versions on a new computer before installing CS5 upgrade version. It is in fact the complete code on disk independently to know if you have purchased a version full or upgrade - the serial number indicates the installation program if you have purchased a full version or upgrade license.

When you enter your serial number for CS5 upgrade, the installer will ask you to enter an earlier qualifying serial number (full or upgrade regardless). I have successfully completed this specific scenario myself several times.

The only drawback of the above is that there is a world of difference in the terms of the licenses (serial numbers) between a suite and a stand-alone version. If you install a trial on CS5 so try to keep just the Photoshop component (and enter its serial number), you will need to first uninstall the entire suite, and then install the standalone Photoshop CS5 upgrade version. Enter your serial number CS5, then check by entering your serial number for CS3.

  • Photoshop cs5 crashes on the print on mac

Everytime I go to print photoshop crashes.

I have CS5 on yosemite USX

Go install the updates of Photoshop CS5.  You're on 12.0.0 and should be on 12.0.4.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 trial installs on my Mac (OSX Lion)

    Information about the problem:

I am trying to install a trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS5.1.

I completely downloaded the trail via The Adobe Download Assistant. The file that I have now is "Photoshop_12_1_LS1.dmg".

I can open the .dmg and go through the steps of ready to install base. I press install and wait that it to do its thing.

Installation hangs and then at some point in any %. Sometimes the % will remain at some point and time will pass and no progress. At one point, I left the machine in the 8 minutes he required and time were spent 60 minutes +.

I've noticed a trend whenever I tried it (31 times).

The installation program always seems to freeze in section when it installs: Adobe recommends Fonts or fonts Adobe or Adobe Bridge CS5.5 Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5.

Once the installation is stuck, it crashes the system and I have no other choice to the hold down the power button, the machine does not respond. I tried the installation several times and still no luck.

To try to fix it myself, I removed all the custom fonts in font book and what remains is the default fonts on the system. I even tried to install the trial without all the additional extensions provided before installing the trial, and still the same problem occurs.

I need this trial and I'd appreciate any help I can get.

    Thank you

    System information:

    MacBook Pro 17-inch

    4 GB memory

    Processor 2.8 GHz

    Mac OS X 10.7.1

I found a solution to this problem. Install the files in secure boot mode. Here's how to guide:

    Part one:

With recent attempts or even previous versions of Adobe CS can be still hanging around on your mac, in order to remove the bits and bobs needed for installation clean you need to download the tool of 'cleaning up' by Adobe CS5. This can remove all previous version of CS back to CS3. This could be the problem by doing that download you. This tool can be downloaded here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/829/cpsid_82947.html

YOU SHOULD USE THIS TOOL BEFORE MOVING ON TO THE SECOND PART.

    Second part:

To start mode without fail (to start), follow these steps:

    1. Make sure that your Mac is turned off.
    2. Press the power button.
    3. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key. The shift would be held as soon as possible after startup, but not before the tone tone.
    4. Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a gear).

    (Source: Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1455)

    Third part:

Now that you have left your boot of the machine up at startup.

    1. Locate the .dmg installation file. It may take a while to load, but be patient.

    2. Click here to open the .dmg.

    3. continue the installation as you normally would.

4 sit and take advantage of up to 100%.

Once it's installed, you can now restart your machine and start as usual. Log in and then it should be there in your applications to use.

I spent almost 2 days me trying to understand this point, and finally I found a solution. I hope this help anyone who came across this problem themselves.

    Good luck

    John

  • Can I transfer Photoshop CS5 from one computer to another without the original packaging?

I just got a new Mac and I need to transfer my Photoshop from my old computer to this news.  I lost the original package in a movement.  Anyone know if there is a way to do that, or I'm the SOL?

You must install correctly ps cs5 on your new computer by using the installation files (linked below).  you just need your serial number and the installation file.

If you no longer need ps cs5 on your old computer, or you have already used your two activatations allowed, disable (open ps > help > deactivate) on your old computer.

Yes, but not "migrate" your apps. install properly using cs5 installation files.  Some people need to use compatibility mode to install cs5 on win 7, but most are not.

  • Photoshop CS5 - check owner activation

    Hello

I bought a full version of Photoshop CS5 (from someone who doestn can't use it anymore), om my PC installed and activated it. So far no problem. I intend to buy a new laptop in the next few months and install it there as well (if I am well informed I am allowed to have the program on 2 computers), but I don't know if there is still an activation of the device of the former owner. She said 'no' and make sure that the program is no longer on his computer, but I want to be sure. How will I know? If a transfer of license is necessary, I don't want to discover that after a few months.

    Thank you

I bought Photoshop CS5 from a previous owner with the full kit and serial number. This copy is supposed to be uninstalled and off from any other computer. Adobe software purchase from a private party is not as easy as you describe.  You must jump through hoops for license to be transferred from one party to the other.  Here is the link to the form. http://helpx.Adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/transfer-product-license.html
