SX50 HS quid taking pix in Museum. Y at - it a preset icon? Must it be done manually?

I think buying this camera especially after all the rave reviews and videos about it.

I need a memory card.

Any suggestions?

What is the difference with the speed that is listed on various cards... i. e 400 X 200 X speed vs?

No problem to get the larger card GB I can't find?

I realize there are several ways to manipulate the camera, but with the icons of "scene selection", is there one for the museums where the hot flashes are not allowed and the lighting is pretty low?

No idea how long battery last while shooting?

I am open to advice and suggestions.

I don't have a SX50 but I'lll bet that your questions can be answered by downloading and reading the user manual:

  • Deleting a failover of PIX

We have two PIX 515 currently configured in a failover. We must remove the additional pix for a few days, is there something special we have to do, or should we just unplug it and let it do its normal failover. And since we're on the subject, which would need to be done when we put the pix in. Thanks in advance.

If you delete the previous day, just turn it off and remove it, the active PIX remains active.

If you remove the active PIX, do a "active failover" on the day before to make it active and then turn it off.

Remember however that if your secondary PIX is a failover only license, then it restarts every 24 hours or so if it detects that the primary is not connected. When it happens you will have to do an another "active failover" manually in this topic, that it will not automatically become the active unit. Make sure you leave the failover cable connected to this unit, otherwise it starts up at all.

  • ID and PIX 515

I was told that the PIX 515E firewall is capable of BLOCKING malicious attacks as attack Dinal of Service. I learned again by CA engineers that it not are a NO product out there that is able to block attacks but rather notify the administrator only. I'd like your opinion on whether the PIX firewall can actually BLOCK attack or not. Thanks in advance.

The PIX has some features to prevent DOS attacks, but he can't block everything. For example, if someone launches an attack smurf or something that uses all of your available bandwidth, then the PIX obviously cannot do anything about it because the damage is already done at the time wherever traffic allows you the PIX.

For something like a TCP SYN attack on a host inside the PIX, then you can configure the static command to allow only a total number of connections through, and/or a number of half-open connections through the internal host, effectively protecting the Server internal. The PIX will refuse further attempts to connect over this limit.

The PIX also has a built-in limited to IDS. It can detect signatures of 59 common packages and can be configured to block these if they are considered. Signatures that he seeks only are based a package signatures, wide as a real IDS device can get nothing.

In short, no one can say yes, "The PIX prevents all attacks back", no box cannot do that, because it depends on what the attack back. If someone is flooding your available circuit bandwidth, you really get your ISP involved to block this traffic BEFORE it happens to you. Yes, host-based DOS attacks, the PIX should be able to block most of them with standard configuration controls.

  • 506TH PIX

I have a 506th pix that I couldn't connect this morning. I had a user restart it for me while I did a ping t on this subject, the ping of the ip address of the element has disappeared, and the ip address of the proxy server now rises. What would cause this

pings from the hosts or routers to the PIX firewall interfaces fail, check the debugging messages, which must be displayed on the console. Ping successful debugging messages appear as in this example.

    ICMP echo reply (len 32 id seq 1 256) 209.165.201.1 > 209.165.201.2

    Application of echo ICMP (len 32 id 1 seq 512) 209.165.201.2 > 209.165.201.1

Statements of the request and the answer should appear, which shows that the PIX Firewall and the host responded. If none of these messages appeared while ping interfaces, then there is a routing problem between the host or router and the PIX firewall that caused ping (ICMP) packets to never get to the PIX firewall.

  • DMZ and PIX failover

    Hello

I'm pretty happy with the tipping of inside and outside interfaces - i.e. the backup PIX inherits the IP address and MAC address of the main unit. However, what about the DMZ interface? Which also inherits the IP address and MAC of the primary unit?

In a design of failover DMZ with only a couple of servers on the DMZ, you connect two PIX DMZ interfaces into a common switch (same VLAN of course!) and then plug servers?

Pretty basic questions, I don't know, but I cannot find an answer to this on cco.

    Best regards, Steve

    Hi Steve,.

Yes... DMZ interfaces inherited also the IP and MAC address of the primary PIX.

In this scenario, even if you have a server you need to plug the 2 PIX on a switch and then the server on the same VLAN... This will ensure the physical accessibility of the server at the same time PIX. In case you have only a single connection, you must change the cable manually, when a PIX fails, which is a big headache...

    I hope this helps...

  • Dynamic dns using for IPSec on PIX tunnel

We have a pair of PIX running 6.3 (5), and a separate company must be connected to us. Remote society has a dynamic IP address on the firewall, but it is registered with dyndns.com. As far as I know, the PIX does not have a DNS server, so this configuration will not work unless manually change us the entry of 'name' on our firewall. Is this correct? Thank you

    Hello

    Sorry for the delay.

The idea is that your dynamic peers land on dynamic crypto map (not you can always match within the dynamic crypto map)

    bsns-asa5505-19(config)# crypto dynamic-map DYNMAP 10 match address ?

    configure mode commands/options:
      WORD  Access-list name

Here's how you can make them land on different map entries.

With regard to the game by the peers. I did check the behavir in the laboratory and what you say is true, you can for example use DNS.

IOS is the keyword 'dynamic' for the router to do name resolution when initiaitng tunnel.

  • Number of VPN clients behind a PIX 501, restriction?

Is there a restriction in the number of VPN clients can be behind a PIX 501. Is is just limited by the number of hosts (10, 50, Unlimited)?

    Hello

Behind a PIX VPN clients. Will you use NAT - T (must). It will be limited only to the number of users (normal users) through the PIX. So if you have a license to use 10 or 50 then the VPN connection is counted in this list.

Connection VPN Client through PIX is not IKE tunnel. They are normal UDP500 and UDP4500 peers.

with pix v6.x, nat/global or static is a must do before the pix will start to transfer packets between two interfaces.

the current static instructions do not cover the translation between the inside and the dmz. as the traffic between pix inside the net and dmz is private, I suggest you to set up no. - nat between the two.

    for example

    static (inside, dmz1) 10.10.10.0 10.10.10.0 netmask 255.255.255.0

    clear xlate

in the above example, pix inside the host must be able to access the dmz Server pointing to the private ip address of dmz Web server.

If you prefer the pix inside the host to access the dmz by name server, then "alias" command should be applied.

    for example

    alias (inside) 13.13.13.3 12.12.12.17 255.255.255.255

the need for the command "alias" is due to the fact that when pix inside the host tries to access the server dmz by name, the public dns will point to the public IP address of the dmz Web server. now, as the static electricity created for the dmz Web server is directional i.e. public ip will be accessible from the outside, not the pix inside the net. so the 'alias' command will allow the PIX to manipulate the dns response and point the name to the private ip of Web server dmz for the pix inside the host.

  • Questions-speaker of Pixi Plus sound is NOT blown

I had my pixi more for about a month, I have insurance through ATT but don't want to deal with it unless it is completely necessary. I have problems with the sound on my phone. The speaker is not blown because when my alarm goes off or someone calls/texts me, the sound comes out fine. However, when I put my ringtone or ringtone my sound and I try to listen to the ringtone that is downloaded or one that came on the phone, it will not play. The status bar is moving, so is to show that the phone is read the ringtone, but no sound is output from the speakers.

Help, please! ATT can be so complicated, I really don't want to have to use my insurance and return it to us for a new!

I have two options.  1) there are separate volume settings for 'media' (music player, etc.) and the volume of the ringer.  Oddly enough, when you are in the application sounds and ringtones and you tap a ringtone to listen to it, the setting of the 'media' volume is in control.  Try to adjust the volume with the volume up button while listening to the ringing.  You should see the volume bars with notes of music next to them.

    (2) there may be debris in the headphone connection.  try to insert and remove the headphone jack several times.  Although I've seen this cause issues while on a call, I'm not sure if it affects the volume of the ringtone in the application sounds and ringtones.

It would be great if you could post again with the results.

  • Pascal boot from a DVD on my Satellite P100

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P100. I want to boot on a DVD. When the computer starts, the screen goes from black to the Welcome to windows screen, and there is no message that indicates which key to press to access the boot menu. I tried to press F2 or F12, but if I do the screen remains black and that windows won't even start. F1 or F10 or del have no effect. ESC for 5 seconds, either.

A few weeks ago (I did not any changes in bios or anything like that, what I did is updated on windows), I had a white line that says press key (F12), but now this is not more. I don't even have the toshiba logo.

I flashed the BIOS with the latest update, with no result.

Edit: I have new intel: since the problem seems to come from the screen (some keys (F2, F12) 'work' in the sense it does something special, rather than just logging on to windows and this unusual thing they do is to make the screen stay black - as if the screen wasn't turned on yet, but the computer was waiting for a response from the user) I tried to connect my laptop to another screen. I have counfounded the vga cable ends and ends by connecting my laptop to a desktop instead of his screen. The result of this was rather strange: when my laptop is connected to a desktop computer, the laptop screen is lit normally, and I see the toshiba logo and the boot/bios menu shortcuts. Other that taking the power of the display, the connection had obviously no effect: I don't see the content of the desktop on my laptop, I just saw my laptop because I usually do, and it's because the vga port is usually intended to be connected to another screen and not to another computer.

So what do you think about this experience, which is certainly interesting, and you now see what could be my problem and so how to fix?

    Thank you.

PS: If you have more questions/details, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Hello John

To be honest, I wish I had your laptop in front of me and see exactly what is happening.
Is that this message be down occurs when the cell is on a regular basis down. If the laptop wakes mode sleep or hibernation, this message will not appear.

So I m pretty confused with all this and can not understand what is happening exactly.
When the operating system is loaded click please Windows Start button and choose the option closed and don't forget the laptop shut down correctly

After doing this book for beginning and check how it looks like new. Please post comments.

  • I want to buy Toshiba laptop with Ubuntu and windows

I want to buy a new laptop.
I don't want to pay 300 quid for yet another stupid Windows (if they are just a version properly, people don't need to keep buying new... oh wait... they make more money...).

Others don't offer laptops with Ubuntu (and not windows).

I find myself here, and Toshiba appear also does not provide laptops without windows.
Why? Why Toshiba offer laptops with pre-installed Ubuntu with no windows?

I use Ubuntu for 3 years, and altogether, he transformed my daily calculation. No more bloody virus, not 5 minutes log-ins/closures, no more program - crashing down the entire system. It is faster, safer, more flexible and * free *.

But because Toshiba do not appear to offer it, they can't get my habit (I'm in Ireland, so Toshiba options open to me may be different in other countries).

    Hello

First of all it s a forum from user to user and you get no response from Toshiba here in the forum.

But as much as I know that Toshiba laptops are not delivered with the distributions Linux.
Of course, you can install Linux if you want, but laptops are delivered with the Windows operating system. As far as I know with win 7 64 bit and 32 bit OS.

    Welcome them
