Synaptics Touchpad disabled by automatic update of Windows (Dell Inspiron E1505 running Vista)

Some time ago, after Windows has pushed an update, my Synaptics touchpad is not responding.  I didn't know it was the update that was causing the problem in time - only, I discovered that after investing many hours of research on the internet on the topic.  I searched the internet for fixes, without success.  Run support of Dell diagnostics, which indicated that the touchpad is operational, but even in Safe Mode, it is unresponsive in Windows.  Dell has also tried unistalling the drivers and reinstall them later (I presume) drivers for this model, also without success.  Windows restore points is available since a few days, so there is no possibility to restore to a previous update of the State.  Support Dell tells me that now the only solution they can provide is to return to the factory settings.  Missions in various forums around the internet, I know that this isn't an isolated problem, but to get a fix from Microsoft, I have to pay a fortune to support time.  Help!

Hello Jefas64,

Have you tried to simply roll back the driver for this device in Device Manager? Let us know, helps you. Make it a great day!

  • Windows automatic update of Windows 8 for Windows 8.1

Ahhh, sit down to make a writing or playing games when the breath CUP! http://i.stack.imgur.com/iuZ2C.PNG, he wants to automatically upgrade me to windows 8.1? How dare you Microsoft!

So, I continue to get the popup message saying http://i.stack.imgur.com/iuZ2C.png after that I asked to restart later. I don't want to NOT update windows 8.1, so have to unplug and wait it will restore windows 8 every two days is not very fun. I have disabled the automatic updates and it continues to happen. Is there a simple option, I don't know that disables the automatic system update?

If you upgrade, do not install the device to 8.1, you keep your data/programs > then if you upgrade, not pure install, 10 (you must by July 28, 2016 or it is not free) / data programs remain intact.

BUT, you should always have your data backed up on an external anyway.

And there is never guarantee granted in the calculation that upgrades will work perfectly 100% of the time.

    See you soon.

    Hello.

It is possible that it was by force the windows closed so your firefox which makes you forget... Have you tried to crash your Firefox to see if the session is not restored?

To plant your Firefox, simply there open, press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC and then, on the process tab in the window that appears, complete the process firefox.exe. That will force Firefox to close at this moment. Do start again. If it works, ok, so it may have been a case isolate. My recommendation is to configure your windows does not install updates without your intervention. Choose something like 'ask me what to do' or something like that.

I asked my team to set Windows Update to manually plan but they advised me that this is a policy and it should be run as automatic.
