  Hi, this is a follow-up to the issue and my second attempt to find the solution. In addition, it is still connected to my first and second positions.

  My laptop that works with Windows 7 32-bit has 2 two natural questions:

  1. I can't access PC's on the network on the laptop itself and thus get an error:
  "\\(PC Name) is not accessible." You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server know if you have access permission. The specified network provider is not valid.

  2. When you make the file sharing Wizard, I get an error "your folder cannot be shared" and the only option is to click on 'Done '.

  I'm trying to share folders to another laptop that works with 64-bit Windows 8 but I think there must be a problem with the Windows 7 laptop. I can share and access all the folders of any laptop before.

  (1) is connected to a domain of the computer network?

  (2) is your computer connected to the homegroup?

  (3) have you been able to access the specified network previously.

  I have two PC under Windows 7, supposed to be related by a homegroup, a Lenovo B540 and an Acer laptop.  I have created the homegroup and can access the Lenovo laptop but not the other way around, I get the message "the specified network provider name is invalid.

  I looked at some of the proposed solutions, but the main problem is that I don't have a "System and Maintenance" tab in my control panel and, therefore, none of the commands they say are there, all I have is "Network & Sharing Center".
  The utility "Troubelshoot problems" said there is nothing wrong, but it is clear.
  Can anyone guide this Muppet here in the dark alleys of this problem and lead me to the light?

I clicked to map the drive, entered the name of the drive, came the name of login/password for the computer turns on and then it give me this error message: the specified network folder is currently mapped using a different user name and password.   In Windows 7 Enterprise, I would like to point out that, if you map \\server1\share1 as drive letter X using "user1" and "password1", then try to map \\server1\share2 (a different share) as drive letter Y using the same ID "User1" and "password1" and you select 'connect using different credentials' in the dialog box connect a network drive and specify the id "User1" and "password1". you will get this error MESSAGE INCORRECT that says 'the specified network folder is currently mapped using a different user name and password'.

  The message is bad because:

  1. the specified network (action2 in my example) folder is not mapped at all, and

  2. the server (in my example, "server1") is already mapped (to a different and different drive letter share) using the SAME user name and password.

  The error message is wrong in two respects.

  This let me puzzled for a while until I realized that once you have mapped to 'Server1' using the credentials, you can map to different actions on the same server without re - specify the credentials.  It is NOT CLEARLY the 'Map network drives' dialog box, which leads to users (like me, and I'm a programmer by trade) trying to enter credentials again and this incorrect error message.

  I got this message when trying to access a laptop on my home network. It's a laptop which came for years. The only change that occurred was the removal of a few videos to Windows Media Player. In fact, I was sitting near the laptop (laptop 1) that stores the video & audio files that I share on my network for years and an additional (cell 2) laptop computer on my network. I was simply remove a playlist via WMP and I witnessed portable 2 lose access to files I had shared for years with my home network. I don't even use WMP, I had just open trying to access the laptop 1 video/audio files to my PS3 system. I was clear an old list of video of WMP so I could add the extra avi files to the list that I had collected over the years. I wanted to not double many videos so I removed the videos in WMP list. Since then, I'm not able to share anything of my laptop 1 to the rest of my network. I did not like WMP before, now I really despise WMP. When I try to share a folder, right click, share with & click on homegroup (read/write), the option is not selected. Any solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  The error "the specified device name is invalid" is displayed if you try to name a folder with a name that represents a limit of MS-DOS device name.

  The MS-DOS device driver names cannot be used as file names in Windows. As a result, we cannot name as records con, zero, etc.

  Microsoft MS-DOS booked these names for these system device drivers.

  I have a 5.5 esxi server just the a virtual machine running at the moment. I try to clone this as shown below:

  I have no vcenter (yet), and it's just the 1 vm. The virtual machine is turned off. I get this error regardless of the name, I said that when I choose "add to the inventory.

  you read bad advice on the internet and then you get also the stupid advice here.

  Ignore both!

  If you want to clone a virtual machine by copying - do it like this:

  Create new virtual machine with the wizard.
  Skip creating a disk for new customers.

  In Datastorebrowser copy the original vmdk to the new dir, which has been created by the wizard.
  Reopen the new VM and edit - assign the vmdk that you just copied.

  The procedure of the blog is not supposed to work.
  Sissine trick doesn't make sense either

  2 have you tried to use the Task Scheduler in another account?
  3 have you tried to schedule the task through an administrator account?

  It seems that the account you are using doesn't have the rights to schedule the task.

  Hello everyone, I'm pretty stuck here. I can't delete a file in windows 7 or any other do with it besides. Says "the specified file name is not valid or too long. It has a funny name [~ t] and no extension. The file type, say "file". The properties are all screwed looking with a mistake on the Security tab, a size of 0 k, is a Windows (c) \Windows\en-US.The other files in this folder appear normal. The computer seems to work very well without any obvious problems. The only problem is my anti-virus reports with a kind of syntax for the file error and indicates it cannot parse this file. I do not. I can't do a thing with it either. Cannot open, rename, move, delete, change passwords, properties, permissions, nothing. It may be necessary for a good part with 0kb. According to me, I want to just delete the thing. Please, anyone? Thanks in advance.

  Hey bud, I figured out how fix it earlier. I am so happy. I came to remember a command called chkdsk which worked very well for various issues, that I had since the construction of my old 2000 Professional machine. I think that one was my first NTFS system. I always liked how well he error correction. Seemed a lot better than the old scandisk. Low and behold, I tried and star ANISE, it is went through it, found this file almost from the beginning of the analysis and a few lines later, he said has been removed. Says something about the file being orphaned some time ago. It was a very bad child, that I tell you. I ran it in safe mode command prompt. I guess he would have done the same thing in the normal windows well, but I happened to be in safemode, when it came to me. I used the switch /f with her. Since the C:\ command prompt or any drive letter your operating system is selected, type CHKDSK/F if I remember although the f was to have it automatically CORRECT errors.   Your Athreos has never connected? If it has connected then it not only connects it to insecure networks? Also after can trying to connect you do the following?

  Start, run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:

  Type the following command:

  IPCONFIG/ALL

  [Note that there is no space between the oblique and ALL bar].

  Right click in the command window and choose Select all, and then press ENTER.

  Try these steps to create a new account:
  a. log on under an account that has administrator privileges.
  b. Click Start.
  c. type the three letters cmd in the search box.
  d. press Ctrl + Shift + Enter
  e. click "Run as Administrator".
  f. type the following commands and press ENTER after each one:
  net users
  NET user 'Jack' xxyyzz / add
  net localgroup administrators/add ' Jack'

  The first command displays all existing account names.
  The second command creates an account named 'Jack' with a password of "xxyyzz".
  The third command will make Jack administrator.

  This is a system error that is displayed when a web form uses secure area connects assigned in the properties of the web form, which is not more existing in the admin.

  In order to solve this problem, I suggest you please check the properties of the payment form site manager > web forms > change the properties , and you can change the secure area, or can leave the field empty.
