  Your MP3 player should have 2 settings - MSC that should allow the player to be used as a
  external drive and PSG that is the parameter to use to sync with WMP11. Remove the MP3
  and restart the computer. Change the MP3 in MTP mode - it power off and plug it in.

  1. do you have an error when attempting to sync with Media Player, or everything just doesn't detect media player?

  2. don't you make changes to the computer before it stopped working?

  3. will the player detected in Windows Explorer?

  First check to see if the drive is detected on your computer. Try to copy the files of music from Windows Explorer.

  Most MP3 players will appear as a "disk" on your computer, and you can browse the files on them by simply opening.

  If you can do this, you should be able to copy / delete / move files between the MP3 player and the computer.

  Also try to set media player to manually synchronize with Media Player. This article should help you with that:

  I was wonder if there is a way for the Windows Media Player to sync with my iPod touch and also if possible how do I change the type of extension file synchronization?
  My current problem is that the iPod does not appear on the list of devices. As an employer in a business that uses music to support our workers during the construction outside, we cannot install program unless we get they technicians to tell us if the program is allowed to install.   I have a MP3 SA018 of Philips player. Windows Media Player 12 does not detect this mp3 player. Therefore, I can't sync music.
  However, when I connect the MP3 player on my laptop Asus N53SV (Windows 7 Home Premium, x 64), it works fine.
  In Device Manager (devmgmt.msc) is the visible MP3 player as a Portable device. The device driver is "WPD file system Volume driver". According to the manual for this MP3 player, no additional software is necessary. Windows Media Player should be recognized.
