Sync my iPhone on Itunes with NAS library

Hello

I used to sync to my iphone via itunes with iTunes library that I have stored on my NAS.

I have a new computer and want to do it again.

I had iTunes able to access my library iTunes stored on the NAS, I can play the music on my computer but when I want to sync my iphone, the obly on which I am authorized to do so by Itunes is the local library, not the one on the NAS.

How can I make the NAS library one to use for syncing my Iphone?

The phone searches for the exact same library file used the last time that synchronize you the phone with iTunes.

Hold down the option key while starting iTunes. When you are prompted to select a library to select the file iTunes Library.itl the SIN. If it is not there then you have not kept the entire library on the NAS and the left critical parts of your library back on the old computer.  The only recourse is to get these files to this computer or a backup.  It is usually best to use a portable library but with a SIN, you can run into all kinds of trouble with any iTunes library. In this case, I suspect I know what the problem is, but there are several NAS posts here where we have no idea why a library all of a sudden I have messed up. iTunes and NAS do not play well together.

  • sync the iPhone with iTunes but even different ical and contacts

I would like to sync an iPhone to my mac, my wife and I share. Is it possible that I can connect on the same iTunes account to share our music, but keep our calendars, photos and contacts separate?  Currently, I have my own user account on the computer and I sync with iTunes, but it is not any music. If I put his music library in a shared folder that I have access on the two user accounts, can I delete everything on my phone to sync with the new iTunes library? I wouldn't delete all my apps and everything. Is there a better way to go about this? If it's important, we do not add music to our iTunes so it could be acceptable only for copying all music files once if it was the best way to ensure the rest of our things remain separated. Thanks for your help!

  • Sync iphone and ipod with itunes on 2 computers

I think I successfully copied my iTunes from my office to my laptop.  Both computers are allowed with the Apple Store. When I try to sync my iPhone with the 'new' iTunes on my laptop, it tells me that the iPhone is already synchronized with another computer (my office).  If two iTunes are the same, how can I synchronize my phone with an iTunes and let it also synchronized with each other?  Or both my iTunes synced so that the synchronization of the iPhone (or iPod) with one going to update the other iTunes.  I travel a lot, so be able to sync with the laptop on a trip, and then with the Office at home is important to me.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice.

IPAD/iphone/ipod syncs with a single iTunes library/computer at the same time.

Synchronization to another will clear the current contents of the device and replace it with the contents of the computer again.

    Hi there deg20,

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support! Looks like all the applications listed in iTunes to sync your iPhone while you move your music. I can understand wanting to be able to customize the content that is on your device. I'll be more than happy to help!

From what you describe, appears it option "automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" to be enabled. To activate which turns off, select the Summary tab and uncheck the box next to this feature. Once you have done this, you should be able to navigate between sections of content / media specific to choose what you want to synchronize with your device. After you apply these changes, it should appear on your iPhone. See the following article for advice on the content of sync on your iPhone:

Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer through a USB port

You should also ensure that you have enabled the option to manually manage content, as described in this article:

Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer through a USB port

If you don't manually add or remove content from your device

Check the option "Manually manage music and videos" is turned on:

    1. Connect your device to your computer.
    2. Open iTunes. Make sure you have the latest version.
    3. Locate and click on your device.
    4. In the left sidebar, click summary.
    5. Scroll down to the Options section.
    6. Check the "Manually manage music and videos."
    7. Click on apply.

You might see a message that your device is synchronized with another library. This means that you used another computer to sync your device in the past, and iTunes cannot sync without erasing first and replace everything iTunes on your device.

    Relax your day fantastic!

I downloaded iTunes on a new laptop computer and he allowed. All of a sudden, I can't sync my iPhone 6. What can I do?

If your iOS device does not appear in iTunes, try the following:

    1. Open Control Panel > Device Manager
    2. Plug in your device
    3. Locate Bus USB Controllers > Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.
It is also possible that the device may appear under imaging devices, portable devices or other devices or as a device USB of MTB.
    4. Right-click and select software update of the driver...
    5. Click Browse my computer for driver software
    6. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
      C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    7. Click on let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer
    8. Click on Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
    9. Click Next, then close and exit the Device Manager

To step 3 above, open the Device Manager. Expand one of the articles that are listed.

    • USB Bus controllers
    • Imaging devices
    • Portable devices
    • Other devices

Plug in the appliance. You should hear the telltale Windows sound device connection and a Division must acquire a new entry. This should be your device. It cannot be labelled properly at this point. If you do not hear a suspicious noise cable damaged.

Or try If iTunes does not your iPad, iPhone or iPod - Apple Support Apple version of the above opinion.

If not try a complete tear down and rebuild iTunes in accordance with the resolution of the problems with iTunes for Windows updates. 64-bit users might also try the build replacing iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for older video cards) which is sometimes a useful workaround.

Or try to go back to the last version of iTunes that has worked for you. See the programs installation of iTunes to download links. If you roll back to 12.4.0.119 to 12.3.3.17 or 12.3.2.35, for example, then you will also need restore the database of the library in the manner described in the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library. The tip makes suggestions to reintroduce recent purchases, so at worst, you lose a few meters or a newly created playlist.

  • Sync iTunes with all devices, unless memory

I have a problem with syncing my iphone 5.

I added 10 songs over to one of my playlists. Any yes I checked the memory of the songs, theses is less than 30 MB.
So there is no other changes made by me to itunes. Today, I tried to sync my Iphone to get these new songs on it. But know not itunes tells me an error like: "the XY Iphone cannot be synchronized, because theres not enough memory for all objects selected (5 GB extra needed)". "

Same thing with my Ipod Nano. I use it only for listening to music in the gym, there is nothing more about it. So I just tried to sync ipod nano to get my 10 new songs on it for my sport. But the same thing happens here: "the XY Iphone cannot be synchronized, because theres not enough memory for all objects selected (2 GB additional necessary)". "

And I have nothing in the ipod since the last backup or synchronization has been performed. So I think that it can't be any bad action by me?
I tried to google my problem, but can't find any solution for this problem. Solutions always say, try to remove various tricks to get more space. But seriously? 5 GB more space for the only change of 10 new songs?

Does anyone know, what happened to me just know? Or maybe know a solution which is not a sort of trying to delete something...

I have 32 GB of memory on my Iphone 5. And at this moment I have 710 MB of free space.

I do the same procedure as any time. Just get new music, throw it in your playlist and sync. I've made further changes on any setting in itunes or on my Iphone.

I tried to update my Itunes to the latest Version, but its still the same problem.

I was thinking about getting the latest ios on my phone. Currently its IOS 9.2. But I think that they don't fix this problem whatsoever in old versions. And the problem is still on my ipod nano. Besides this I made clocks with this state of software in the past without any kind of errors. So, this could not be the point of...

IM new in this Forum or community and the Germany. So hope you understand my problem.

I would be grateful if anyone has an idea what is going and who knows a solution.

    Welcome, Micheel

It seems that sometimes iTunes is unable to adjust its sums and does not account correctly for content that is already on the device. The following steps should resolve things assuming that all of the content you want in your library.

(If it is not see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device).

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restoration as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup that you made earlier.

  • Music library syncing my iPhone to my Mac

I recently bought a Macbook Pro (move from a Windows-based computer) and after syncing my iPhone to my Macbook, I noticed that my entire library of music on my iPhone does not sync to my Macbook. I'm not 100% sure but I think that only the music that I bought through iTunes transferred and all music, I bought the CD and ripped from iTunes on my old computer and then sync my iPhone has not been transferred. I think I have the appropriate settings transfer the entire library of music.  I suspect I need to subscribe to Apple music or iTunes game to get my ripped to a music CD to transfer on my Macbook. I know I can't use correct terminology but basically doesn't transfer any music coming from a CD purchased to my Macbook and I want to correct this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You cannot synchronize back from your iPhone to the new Macbook because the synchronization works only for Mac to iPhone via iTunes. It is a concession to the music industry to prevent people from easily unload their collections of DRM-free music on multiple computers.

You do not want to transfer your music library from your old computer to the new Macbook and load it into iTunes. You can then establish the sync of the Macbook to iPhone iTunes library if you choose to do so.

Once you have all your music on the Macbook in iTunes, you can then decide if you want to use iTunes game or Apple's music with iCloud music library. These options will make your music library available on any device that you logged in with the same account. Under this configuration you only need to manually sync from Mac to iPhone. You will see all your music on the phone available for streaming or you can choose to allow some of them local offline listening rather than streaming.
