Sync palm tx on the desktop

I can't synchronize my palm tx to my office.  Desktop using windows 7 64 bit.  I'm trying to synchronize using the wifi.  Palm said it is connected via wifi, but after a few minutes, it says "the connection between your device and the desktop could not be established.  Please check your configuration and try again.

The installer must be ok because he says he has the IP and then says it is connected when I do the hotsync.

Suggestions?

The lines are set to 'synchronize '?  Is the device connected directly to a main USB port and not to a hub?

Looks like it's time to uninstall/reinstall Palm Desktop and the Aceeca drivers.  Here are the big hammer for a clean uninstall instructions.  You can save your data in Palm Desktop user first just to be sure.

These instructions are for Vista, but should work for Win7.

You first need to you a copy of your data to have just in case something happens. You can find your data files by clicking on start-> Documents-> Palm OS Desktop. Highlight your Palm Desktop user name and right click and copy. Then go to the desktop of your PC, click on a blank spot block and select.

If this is the first time, you install Palm desktop and encounter a problem, go to the previous step. If you are not concerned about your data at this stage, go to the next step.

Now, you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove anything that has to do with Palm Desktop on your computer. Go to the following locations on the PC and delete the folders listed below. [C:\Program Files\Palm or C:\Users\[Vista Palm connection name] \appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or PalmOne C:\Users\[Vista Login Name] \appdata * note you may need to show hidden folders to join appdata. To do than to go into your control panel and open folder options. Go to tab and uncheck hide hidden files.

When you use Palm desktop 6.2, look in my documents or documents and delete the folder Office of PalmOS. It is the location of the PD 6.2 data files.

Once this is done, you will need to remove certain keys in the registry of your PC operating system.

Word of warning, go here and removing the wrong thing can cause your PC to start, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel that you are not sure of yourself, see if you have a friend who can help you or a PC technician that you can pay to help you. This procedure will show them everything they need to remove. To make sure that we have a good copy of the current registry, we make a backup of the registry.

Go to start on your PC in the search box type "regedit.exe" without the quotes.

Point peak COMPUTER, go to file-> Export. Should appear with a save as box. Current place of residence is fine, must be within My Documents, or save to a location that you will remember. In the name of the file in low type "backup [todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Then, the most difficult part.

The best way to ensure that your work with the right key, select the key that is installation quick palm and press delete on your keyboard. You will be asked, you of course. Say Yes. Do the same for all the keys below.

If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician. BUT do not turn off your computer.

The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of the theses reg keys will not be here, but if they remove them)

* HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer * Robotics\Pilot Desktop HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc. * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm

Then, restart your computer.

Then reinstall your Palm desktop, the pilots Aceeca and do a hotsync. If request you a user name, enter the name that is on your device in the upper right of the screen to hotsync.

My sync stop working.  I synchronized successfully a few days ago, and then updated my software and changed my leads to 'Outlook' based on a message that I saw here (trying to get my contacts and calendar in outlook, so I can synchronize in a new Blackberry Storm).  Since then, I can't sync at all.

I tried everything I can think of.  I turned off / on my PC, soft reset my Treo 650, tried to reboot the desktop of my original Verizon installation disc software, but that did not work - I got the following error message then that he took off the files "ERROR 1316 a network error occurred" trying to read the file C:\windows\installer\palmone.msi

So I downloaded the software from this site as a "repair".  It solves nothing.

Since the data on the device I suggest you uninstall the palm software, removal of Palm under Program folder files and then put it back.

  • New Firefox Sync does not work correctly. Bookmark cannot be deleted. Tabs are not displayed on the desktop.

I have two problems with the synchronization again. The first problem is that none of my bookmarks or tabs of my office are appearing on my Android phone or work phone reverse on the desktop.
The second problem is I'm trying to synchronize my favorites of the beta version of Android FF for the non - Beta Android FF that worked well until I corrected to remove several bookmarks I have anymore. I want to remove them, but I can remove them only on the beta version and then when I go to the regular version none of the changes have been synchronized. If I try to remove them from the normal version nothing happens at all.

One thing to check is the android device and new update of office are on the same synchronization. To check on Android is this (not recommended) Firefox Sync account

The other thing to check is if the tabs and bookmarks synchronization options are on for both devices in the page manage account.

    Is this the case?

    Help, please?

If syncing still works on Android devices so there is no need to generate a new key for synchronization and you shouldn't have a problem the pair from the desktop with one of Android devices via the pairing code 12 characters. Use the pairing code 12 characters is not expected to enter a key for synchronization, as these data will be recovered from the Android where you enter this code on the desktop. That's why the two devices must be online at the same time. Note that the synchronization code is a code of 26 characters and therefore is much longer than the code pairing 12 characters.

  • I have synced my phone on my desk before wiping the desktop drive, now wish to import bookmarks in sync on the desktop. I tried to 'replace all data on the computer with my Sync data', but nothing happens. Please guide me through it.

All bookmarks are still on my mobile. I can see and access. When using the synchronization options, then clicking on the fact, absolutely nothing happens. The bookmarks are always on my mobile and not transferred to office.

    Hello!

I am trying to understand the workflow in detail. Let me explain quickly what is the right process:

    1. Sync your phone to your desktop (you already did that)
    2. Clean your computer (you already did that)
    3. Follow these steps in the newly installed Firefox https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How%20to%20sync%20Firefox%20settings%20between%20computers?s=sync & r = 3 & as=s#w_what-if-im-not-near-my-first-computer

That of all, make sure you have the key to Firefox Sync in order to access your Firefox Sync account again. Do not create a new or if not you will remove the data from the server. If you have lost your key synchronization, you can get it from your phone by installing the add-on on your Android device: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/addon/aboutsynckey/

    I hope this helps you.

  • Palm Zire 31 sitting idle for too long and then my hard drive has crashed - I got my palmOne from HDD files but don't know how to install it on the desktop?

Because this product is no longer supported by the manufacturer, I hope that someone out there will be able to help me find a way to get my calendar and contacts restored on the desktop.  My pocket computer sat unused for a very long time, but my desk calendar and contacts were until that my hard drive crashed.  I was able to retrieve the files of PalmOne since the hard drive crashed, but all I can see are the *.dat files.  When I try to import or restore, the *.dat is not a supported file extension.  Help!  I have the original installation CD. Thank you

.dat files are Palm Desktop is looking for work - you can not import them.

Just create a user in Palm Desktop and copy the files (having more than 1 KB of data) the current .dat address.dat and datebook.dat (or calendar.dat, I don't know which existed on your device).

  • Problem of sync Tungsten E2 to the exchange of data of the order of the day

    Hi guys,.

I am a pretty old used PALM devices, I have a Tungsten E2 that starting yesterday now not able to sync my PC more with any pf. I tried with Win 7, Win 8 using the Desktop 6.2 via Bluetooth using the HotSync Manager.

When I try to sync - upward, HotSync manager activity seems to be ok, the computer ask me the password I type and then the synchronization process starts, number of clicks green confirms the good performance of sync files syetm but when synchronization try to drive the agenda, he's missing, I mean that he doesn, t go more.

In my opinion, it seems that some data in your handheld pointer has changed and so that data from the agenda of the handheld to the PC is blocked. Unfortunately, I can't check with cable USB WIN 7 and 8 do not work with USB.

No idea how to fix this without losing my data?

    Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

PalmOS devices have been able to sync via a USB cable for Vista64, Win7 and now Win8 for quite a while now.  We have a post sticky implemented in the top few positions listed in this section:

    64-bit drivers HotSync

The data of the order of the day is updated on the computer in Palm Desktop?  Run the auditor of the Palm Desktop on Tools/Options/tools database to see if something needs to be repaired, then set the conduit Hotsync next to the order of the day on "Desktop replaces the handheld computer."

As usual, we recommend that you install NVBackup on an SD card before risking the loss of personal data.  It can be copied to the card, the card inserted in your Palm and a full backup made and saved in the card.  NVBackup can be found at www.freewarepalm.com.

Another suggestion would be to install DBFixit of Pimlicosoftware.com.  It is designed to fix data errors, some free, others require pay a registration fee that goes to a sanctuary for gorillas.

  • Is blackBerry smartphones there a way to edit your contacts in the Desktop Manager?

I'm trying to understand how to change your contacts via the Desktop Manager... is it possible?

So now you have the contacts in Outlook?

So, edit your contacts in Outlook, get them as you want.

And then you use the Desktop Manager > Sync > back to your BlackBerry.

    You are doing things.

You cannot edit contacts directly in Desktop Manager... it doesn't work just like that on a BlackBerry, as users might be accustomed to using a Palm, which has its own separate software to do this. BlackBerry decided not to reinvent the wheel by creating a whole new software, when many many users already have a demand on their PC that does it well.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones to transfer files between the desktop and Blackberry

I'm new to Blackberry and do research on how to transfer files Notepad or Wordpad from my office to the Blackberry.

I am an old user of Palm, and there is a built-in function of memos of synchronization between the desktop and the handheld device.

I'm not necessarily looking for to be able to automatically synchronize these memos.  Just having the ability to transfer them back and forth between the office and the Blackberry when there are updates.

To my office, I use Outlook (with a FranklinCovey component software plug-in called PlanPlus for Outlook) on Windows XP Professional, sync to a Blackberry Curve.

    Thank you.

  • The desktop version compatibility

I've been using Palm Desktop v. 4.01 with my M515... and all was well. I am now also using a Palm Zire 71. The Zire was good enough TI synchronization seemed but now I'm getting the (Windows) blue screen of death three times trying to sync the Zire. It seems that Palm Desktop (palmusbd.sys) has stopped working properly. Is this a problem of incompatibility between Desktop 4.01 and the Zire? If yes Desktop 4.1.4e would be more compatible with the Zire and be compatible with the M515?

As a side note, I was syncing the Zire and he took at a standstill at the expense of synchronization. There is no data in the fridge. I do not have the Windows blue screen of death, but he hung up synchronization would not go beyond expenditure. Icon arrows hotsync kept moving but it was all that he did

I was wondering if the error "Palm Desktop (palmusbd.sys) has stopped working properly" is a problem of incompatibility of Desktop (version) between two computers.

    Thanks for the input.

Are you sync'ing two devices for the same Palm Desktop user name?
If you are, this causes problems. When you synchronize the device, it records the device settings, applications, 3rd party, preferences, etc. in the backup folder in the folder on the PC username. When you synchronize the device it copies the contents of the folder to Sync with the other device to the current device backup. This will cause corruption in the settings of the device, which causes erratic behavior of the device.

Palm desktop 4.1.4 lists two compatible handheld computers. Here is the link to the download page. http://KB.Palm.com/wps/portal/KB/common/article/37014_en.html

You will need to uninstall 'clean' Palm desktop. Look for instructions in the forums for your version of Windows to uninstall "own."

I suggest you create a user name for each device in Palm desktop. Export data from the current username. Import the new username for the other device.

  • Sync Palm TX with MacBook

I recently changed my Dell (Windows) to a MacBook laptop.  On the Dell, I didn't have no problem my TX with Palm Desktop synchronization for several years and then had problems towards the end (my entire obtained calendar deleted... twice... on the desktop and the TX).  The problem was the motherboard of Dell.  So I thought that it was time to switch to a Mac.

Yesterday, I downloaded the Palm software on my new MacBook and was therefore void of address book, calendar, notes, etc..  I then tried to sync the TX with Palm Desktop.  Because I had problems with my downloads on the Dell I have configured the parameter to have the alternative Pocket Office (I didn't run the risk of having empty Palm desktop on the deletion of MacbBook information on my TX).  Synchronization worked for notes and the address book (although some of the notes of the addresses did not carry).  For the calendar, that little information has been copied to the MacBook and I got this note: "the calendar synchronization failed,"Calendar"is not (error = there not enough memory.).  How is it possible that there is not enough memory?  I have almost nothing on my MacBook, and there are 80% of free space on my TX.

While for most of the dates on the calendar that no information has been copied from the TX from Palm desktop, for a few dates some calendar information has been copied, but not all.  I wonder if the system is only to copy the calendar data as it was several months ago and not the current calendar on the TX information.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you.

Download, install and run the program "Hard Reset" here:

    http://www.palmpowerups.com/downloads.php?cat_id=2

If the installation via HotSync is not possible, just copy on an SD card with a card reader, then move the file to the main RAM of the device with the built-in COPY or MOVE command.

  • Sync Palm TX with Groupwise 7.03

Does anyone have experience using groupwise pda connect to sync with a palm tx?  I did a hard reset on the palm device and the groupwise calendar items are forthcoming, however the Palm appts. in the Palm do not go to groupwise.  I have the defined device for two way synchronization.  Any help would be appreciated.  Palm may be synchronized with palm desktop fine when the pda to connect is not installed.

Seems that it was a problem with the profile of the user.  Once I deleted the profile and rebuilt everything worked very well.

  • Hot sync does not include the Splash ID

I've noticed recently that Splah ID is not among the items synchronized when I perform a hot sync.  And indeed, changes on the desktop or handheld are not reflected.  I ID 4.03 Spalsh, it is registered.  I've recently updated the hot Sync Manager because it does not work with Vista. Hot sync is now working with standard applications provided with my Zire71, like the address book, calendar, etc.

I'd appreciate any help getting Splash ID synchronization.

If you have installed SpashID, you will find the Conduit in the Palm Desktop conduits list.

If she's not here, but you still have a desktop application of SplashID you can open and run, there may be a problem of current Vista.  Might want to go and visit www.splashdata.com for their Vista info.

  • How to import bookmarks from the laptop to the desktop using Firefox 38.0 on both devices?

I am currently using Firefox on my desktop or portable 38.0 and need to import my favorites of the laptop on my desk which also has Firefox 38.0. Please provide details on how to perform this procedure.

    Thank you

    Vern7

Pretty simple and easy, not only are there alternative methods, as is often the case in computing, but different methods produce different results.
Aid articles have more complete explanations with step by step instructions and screenshots.

You have the choice of four methods depending on what you're trying to reach. Ask you what set of bookmarks is the largest and most complex?

Import and export of the a.)
This adds bookmarks. It spikes on the existing ones. (For example, if the laptop: unsorted, folder of bookmarks and bookmarks are now additional folders in the existing desktop bookmarks menu.)
Useful to simply do what you asked: export the Favorites of the laptop and import those on the desktop.
However, if the office is new and has only a few bookmarks on it, but the laptop has the major then consider

    1. Export of the desktop as a HTML file.
    2. Backup of the laptop to create a .json file
    3. Restore the .json laptop on the desktop file.
    4. Follow-up to import HTML file
    • Office has now all the bookmarks of the laptop, as well as his own originals

    See

    (B) backup and restore
This procedure by report written all existing bookmarks. He retained the structure of folders and bookmark labels. Ideal if bookmarks of laptop are the only ones that you care. Or combine the two methods, as suggested above.

(C.) manually replace the bookmarks and the historical database.
Not what you asked but that also gets the history information.
This is useful if you often rely on the addessbar acting as the awesomebar

    (D.) sync
An alternative is to use Firefox Sync. Who should ensure that the laptop and the Office have the same bookmarks.
However if you do this save your bookmarks manually before the first sync bookmarks. I highly recommend that if synchronize you bookmarks you make regular manual backups too, because Sync itself can sometimes corrupt and duplicates of bookmarks. (If you do not notice this corruption quickly you can't have automated bookmarks that are free of corruption.)
