• NIDAQmx to simulate synchronized analog input from two devices of simulations?

  I would test synchronized analog input from two MFDs simulated from the NI6225.  I created two devices of simulated able NI6225 & Automation (M & A) and tagged the first NI6225a and the second NI6225b.   M & I created a RTSI cable configuration and added both simulated devices.  However, when you call NIDAQmx C functions in my test code, I get an error condition indicating that the simulations devices are not synchronized.  Before continuing, I would like firstly to confirm if NIDAQmx is designed to

  simulate synchronized the analog input data of two devices of simulations.  If this isn't the case, then it will explain the error condition that I have encountered in my test code.

  If I remember well used to support the simulated synchronized devices.   I ran various tests this week, but all fail.  I'm going to order/install a RTSI cable and test with physical devices.

• difference between RTSI or IFP in synchronization

  Hi all

  I have a small question on the difference between the PFI and RTSI pin used in synchronization. I have 6711 card and I'm going to use external clock to drive the analog output and the output of the meter. Someone said I can use PFI as a source and I have read the manual, it looks like I can use pin 20 MHz of RTSI as the temporal also. So if I plugged a clock 10 MHz on the pin of temporal RTSI, means all output is based on this clock? What do I have to configure the software to make it work? I it is confusing because RTSI has 8 pairs of poles and the first is a time base, there are some for the analog output, some for the analog input. I need of synchronizing the output meter and analog output. Should I change connect the external clock to the time base RTSI or connect to an analogue output RTSI and out of meter?

  Hello there;

  The main difference is that the purchased triggers or events generated from the PFI lines are synchronous with the data, so that they have a relationship of data/clock phase. On the other hand, triggers acquired with RTSI lines are not in sync with the data so that there may be no such relationship.

  So pretty much if you need triggers and events to synchronize with the clock uses the PFI lines

• Multi device Synch AO series via RTSI

  I have two analog output AO Series devices connected via the RTSI.

  I've defined the RTSI cable in MAX and added the two planks.

  I have trouble getting the slave to use the sample clock master.

  According to "Timing and synchronization features of NOR-DAQmx" synchronization will be smooth.

  My sample VI is attached.  Device 1 ends, but never does Dev2.

  Any ideas?

  If you still get 999 samples while this isn't a problem of bandwidth (so ignore half of my previous post).

  There are some bug or feature not documented the 6723 that gives you this behavior.  The unit is old enough and I'm not too familiar with its workings, but I'll take a wild guess and think that your last sample is sitting in the lock and requires additional sample clock edge to push through (if this is true, that would mean that synchronization was actually off by a whole sample clock period!) :

  

  Instead of sharing a sample clock, I must configure your task like this:

  

  In this way each device generates its own clock and do what he needs out of all samples.  Tasks will begin due to the relaxation of beginning shared synchronously and will not drift over time because of the shared time basis.

  I tried to get the AIs on Dev0 and Dev1 synchronized using the RTSI cable that has been configured in MAX... Is the code to synchronize signals on both devices below? Or do I still have a digital triggering?

  I was using a digital triggering with a flat sequence etc. According to the Labview example (labels remaining in the code, that is why the master and slave), but I could not Dev0:ao0 write when "waveform" has been selected in the source of synchronization by channel AO... I kept getting an error indicating that the refclocksoruce was already in use (or something to that effect)...

  Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi Jack,

  Yes, the trigger routing you do is correct.  In fact, it fixes the problem with your first VI attached.  In this case the destination terminal exported (Dev3 / / RTSI0) were not the source of the Terminal from the second task (Dev4 / / RTSI0).  If you make these the same (it is-to-say/Dev4/RTSI0), you should get the desired result.

  Regarding examples of synchronization that you posted, without a trigger to start the tasks will be simply to share a sample clock, but not a common starting point.  In most sync if you want to share the sample clock and a good start trigger.

• Synchronization of 4474 and 6733 with RTSI

  Hello

  I have some problems with the synchronization of 4474card PCI and one PCI-6733 map with (RTSI cable above). I use 4474 as HAVE and 6733 as generator of AO, and AO are interconnected and RTSI cable is plugged (and also adjusted in MAX and maps are added).

  Card PCI-4474 as a master and as slave 6733, I used the example of synchronization series M with LabVIEW and OR-DAQmx (Fig.5) - and I removed property for timing DAQmx nodes because they produce an error.

  I want to use the same clock, start the trigger and the trigger of these two cards, synchronize them as much as possible, to have a few stabile deterministic phase between them (a few small or none). But I have a problem, the acquisition with 4474 begins too late so it catches some data of the previous iteration and they don t look synchronized...

  I find a lot of messages, but there is always something different, they use the PXI, matlab... map maps...

  Please could someone take a look at my code (LabVIEW 8.5) and tell me if it does what I hope it is? (!)

  My goal:

  To connect to analog to a PCI-6034 and data of angular encoder to a PCI-6602 tensions. I want my tension and angle data to synchronize.

  My approach:

  Both cards are connected with a RTSI cable and configured in MAX. One of the counters on the 6602 is set up like a clock. I think I use this clock to make sure that my angles and tensions are synchronized. I want to read in a load of data from two sources, treat it, and repeat.

  The synchronization set is a little new to me - the code execution, but right now, I'm not sure if I get the sychronisation I need. Please what could someone comment if this sounds right or give me any advice for the improvement?

  Sorry Ian,

  This code was a bit thrown together then you might need to forget it. The table of construction was incorrect, and I don't quite know how it got there.

  The output of the counter in the middle of your task is not doing anything. You can remove this, and as long as you had a single start task depends on the other that you already do and share all the same settings of the clock, which should start the task at the same time and keep it synchronized to readings.

  On top of that my tip for better start synchronization would be to use a hardware trigger to start tasks. the start is so dependent on a hardware clock and not software.

• Open a synchronized session of the analog inputs and position

  I want to read 8 analog inputs (only three IA in the capture of code) with a PCI-6221 card at a rate of 100 samples/s, reading 10 samples/iteration. At the same time, I want to read the position synchronized with the analog inputs. Is this possible? If I just merge the position with the analog signal I get 10 readings of position for each 100 analog input readings (see chart - Red's position). For the control of the movement, I use the pci-7342 with UMI-7764 interfaces. Could someone help me out here please?

  Not necessarily. As said, speeds of up to 200 Hz should work fine with a 7342. If this is not enough, of course a 7350 could be used, but there is also a completely different approach that should work with your current hardware:

  7342, you may also route the phases of encoder to the pins of the RTSI. You can use a counter on the 6221 to measure the position of your axis based on the singlas you have routed the RTSI pins. Now you can use "Measure of Position buffered" (see DAQ examples) to measure the position with the same source of synchronization than your analog signals.

  When you get the new iPod, you can use iTunes on your computer to select and synchronize the music you want on it, in the same way that you synchronize your current iPod - your iTunes will recognize them as different devices and will remember your choice of synchronization for each, it will not (unless, for example, you restore the backup of your current on her iPod) put the same content on both.

  The fastest way I can think of would be to go to the Albums, go to all the Photos tab, highlight the photo you want to delete and press 'Select' in the upper right corner. Place your finger on the first complete line, you want to remove (if you have pictures that do not have a complete row that you want to remove these institutions, select them individually first), slide your finger on the line so that they are all selected, and then slide up so that it starts automatically at your old photos of scrolling. Once the photos you want to delete are selected, press the trash in the lower right. This will move them to your album "Recently deleted", then they will be always on your phone for 30 days, unless you remove them. If you are sure that you have already backed up these photos and does not accidentally still photos you want, feel free to remove them.

  How did get on your phone first? If you try to synchronize your phone with an iTunes library that was not previously associated with, all of the music on the device will be deleted and replaced by the music from the library you are synchronizing with. You can only synchronize with 1 iTunes library at a time.

  Another thing you could try is to change the name of the artist to something completely different, try your procedure remove & resync, change the name back to how you want that, & repeat once again.

  You synchronize using iCloud? Are there contacts on my Mac?

  Try to go to iCloud.com to see if the elements are there and whether the device or the computer. That should indicate if the device or computer is not synchronizing. If the computer, try going to System Preferences/iCloud and stop synchronization. Wait a few minutes, then recheck the timing. If the device, go to settings/iCloud and do the foregoing. You can also try connecting to iCloud and then reconnect.
