syntax of command line using windows 7 to find/select something in a new Explorer window

in a syntax of command line using windows 7 I would d a Search Explorer to find all the *.jpg and the command line syntax is cheating on me.
C:\Windows\explorer.exe/n, / e, e:\photos brings the folder but fine:
C:\Windows\explorer.exe/n, / e, e:\photos /name: *.jpg is not the choice I want - it starts an assignment of the Explorer in 'my documents '.
I do not need a full AQS syntax guide, only how to make the choice to work. Maybe the /name: is not the right word, is it / selection or/find or something else?
Thank you
Rick J.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community.

    Hi all

I try to call a visual basic executable file with a command line using LABView 2014 argument. What I'm trying to accomplish executes an executable file that communicates with a device via a COM port. So, I would open the .exe with a command line argument to communicate via com 3 using the SYSTEM Exec VI. It seems that the command prompt window flashes and closes and then nothing happens. Not a lot of discussions about this on the forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • How to install a local help for the tools of cmd.exe and command line on Windows 7?

    Hello

for many applications, the command line (cmd.exe) is a good choice to get results with minimum effort. The shell has continuously been improved over the years, at least until Windows XP.

All the command line tools have a short help screen (using the /? option). When you need more information, you use Windows system for example from the Explorer Help. It is very good.

Now, Windows XP Help content was installed on site, and the operating system. In Windows 7, my computer wants to go to the Microsoft web site on the internet and there is no local help available. The operating system seems to be incomplete. This makes the help system unusable on a computer without internet access or when the server is not accessible.

So my question is: is it possible to install a local copy of help for the tools of cmd.exe and command line under Windows 7 or do we have to go back to Windows XP?

    Thank you

  • Options command line for Windows 7 - root set of explorer.exe

I've seen the advice that the old syntax WinXP works but I can not put the root of the view.  The desired folder appears but [in the left pane] all unwanted folders appear also [e.g., Favorites, libraries, all other folders for the user, network] which severely complicates the view, especially once I have develop subfolders in the folder desired.  In Windows XP, the part of the root of the activated syntax look at a just the folder and its subfolders [so that the left pane just to show my documents in the left pane for example].  Simple representations of WinXP can be created in Win7?

Which is not clarified your original intention; I see now that you were recommending "the new paradigm" rather than offering a way to recreate the previous.

As for me, I only occasionally used far the paradigm of wire of Ariane and never as a total replacement for the navigation pane.  I guess I'll have to turn off the pane for a while and see how the breadcrumbs affects my workflow.  I've been very heavily dependent on the visual appearance of the component and be able to see the hierarchy and relationships... but on the technical information is also available in the bread crumbs, but not as visually complete.  We'll see.

As an addendum, it is worth noting that, despite this overhaul two times you mentioned, Explorer still apparently accepts all the original XP - era command-line switches, as / root, even if they have no relevance and seem to be ignored.  If the switches is nothing more do, then for gods sake why not to delete and generate a warning or polite error?

  • Run the VI command line in Windows 7

I try to open a VI and do it run whenever called from the command line.  I am running Windows 7 and LabVIEW 2009.

I followed this guide to get me started.

First, I marked my VI "run the opening:

I therefore call on my command prompt similar program:

    "C:/Program Files/National Instruments/LabVIEW 2009/LabVIEW.exe" "C:/User/Desktop/test.vi"

If I already open LabVIEW and running in the main menu, then it opens my VI perfectly without any problems.

However, if I don't already have LabVIEW open, it opens LabVIEW as she normally does, but it only loads to the main menu.  It doesn't load any of my VI.

Does anyone know if this is expected behavior, or how can I fix this so that it opens upward Although LabVIEW is currently closed?

Well... I managed to do work haha.  If you come to ignore the document and open the file via the command line, it opens fine.  I don't know why they say that you can use the command line argument LabVIEW.exe.

    "C:\User\Desktop\test.vi"

1048576 bytes total contiguous extended memory
0 bytes available contiguous extended memory
    941056 bytes available XMS memory
MS-DOS resident in high memory area

This solution does not work, thanks for the reply but. I found that Vista locks going to the Command.pif running cmd from Windows users, so even if you terminate the process cmd it active again. I also found a mistake in one of the sons were he mentions emm396.exe as a way to check the emm on Vista memory. My Home Premium installation isn't emm386.exe.

Anyway once again don't thanks for the help no wonder that many stores do not use Vista. There are a number of development tools that run from command line.

  • Develop an application from command line using LabVIEW

    Hello

Is it possible to generate an executable command line (CLI) uses LabVIEW? This CLI exe is called with some arguments in command line by another application (written in Visual Basic). The LabVIEW run-time engine can be installed separately on the host PC.

    Thanks for your help

    Siddharth

The only way I found is to create command-line 'wrapper', where the DLL based on LabVIEW is called. So you can not only pass parameters to the command line application, but also the return values of CLI app.

  • Is there a setting from command line for Windows Media Player?

Could someone tell me please in the right direction for a set of command line for wmplayer settings?
I use... .Wmplayer /play /playlist pA.wpl as an automatic start and play line RUN.
Player starts and displays a list of PA on the screen but does not play.
If I use... .Wmplayer /play /C:\name.mp3 then, it works very well.
    Thank you
    Brian Taylor

First of all, /play is not a supported parameter, and you should not put a slash in front of the file names.

To launch WMP and let him play a playlist, simply specify the name of the file to the playlist on the command line, for example:

    Wmplayer PA.wpl

The /playlist parameter is only for play playlists that are in the library and does not have a file name of playlist, but the * name * of the playlist in the library, without extension or directories.

  • Compare 2 PDF of the file through the command line using the Acrobat SDK

    Hello

I want to compare 2 by command line of the PDF using the Acrobat SDK, is it possible?

My needis to create Automation for comparison in .net, c# technology to compare files of 100.

Could you be it someone at - it one please let me if the Acrobat SDK kit supports integration with .NET and is it possible to call the term comapere.

OK, Acrobat is not suitable. It is not technically suitable for the server; also no license. It doesn't have a command line, only OLE user interface.

There are Acrobat PDF library, allowing development in C/C++. But I think that there is no function to compare. You will need to implement one yourself, which is a probably a lot of work. What kind of comparison do you want? If you just want to know if the files have changed at all you can use all the checksums without any API. Or are you looking for any Visual change? Or text change...?

  • 15 Firefox crashing at the start of the command line in Windows 15

I was loading my workspace through a batch file every day for 4 years.

This is one of the apps that I start Firefox using the following command:

    @start /D "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\" firefox.exe

My batch file run and close without problem.

Update Firefox 15, using the same order now links Firefox to the console.
When I close the console, the closing of Firefox, when I open again since the standard shortcut, I have the "Firefox crashed.

I also noticed that since the upgrade to Firefox 15, some calls to console.log go in the Console Windows while firefox is loading. In particular, is HTTPSEverywhere.

When I drove back to 14 of Firefox, the problem disappeared

As a temporary workaround, you can change the startup command to create a new command shell and run Firefox from this command interface. The following command will do what you need:

    Start "TempShell" / d "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" /B "CMD /C start""Firefox" "firefox.exe".

NOTE: Thunderbird 15 also has the same problem... and the same workaround.
