System (90 b) fan

I just sent my laptop either served by hp, it's a hp Pavilion g7-1350dx.

He was 3 months old when I got him but had been having the problem since just after the first month of use, the customer service representative told me to try to stick a paper clip in the slot where the fan was and he moving a little and it always had fine, however, I thought I should have the fan replaced anyway I did a lot of research on this topic and it seemed to me than the g6 and g7 pavilion models had the same problem and have been released without enough control of the quality of the tests on the system (90 b) fan, someone else had this problem?, I'm very nervous about how far the service technitions will have to disassemble my laptop to replace fan , (if they replace it in all) after reading on the web about other experiences with their own problems with hp notwbooks, it scares me a little bit to say the least. Does anyone have advice for me? One last thing, I want to say is, I read on the web somewhere about someone who claims that he used to work in one of these places of repair hp and everyone had a strict limit for each cell which was being repaired in just one hour, (anyone know if there is any truth to that?) and that most of the workers have been paid only $9 an hour all this makes me very nervous

The fan needs to be replaced and must be complete enough to access removal. The fan is on the bottom side of the motherboard, so the motherboard must be pulled to get to the fan. Here is the Manual:

Most of the repair of a certain facilities type of expectations of production employees, and these are unpaid jobs. You can opt to take it to a local store, but they are responsible for clearly and you can or can't get an experienced repair tech. A very experienced technician could do the repair in less than 2 hours and maybe more nearly an hour so the time constraint is not as much of a problem you can think of. Personally, I would send in warranty repair.

  • Portege M400 - system crashes, speeds fan near the top, does not start

    I bought this new tablet in 2007 with Vista Ultimate. I upgraded to 2 GB of RAM a few months ago and keep up to date on the OS and antivirus updates. During the last week, the system began to hang, usually using MS OneNote but also when you navigate on the web or other applications. The computer can be either in tablet mode or laptop mode, when this happens, and it is usually on a flat and level. The grip has become more common of yesterday and today, it does not even start. Whenever it crashes, including now the fan suddenly accelerates. Every time that requires a difficult stop - I hold the power button for 5-7 seconds. Whenever it starts after the hanging, he asks to go through safe mode. The last time he asked to open the Windows repair.

    You should also check if your laptop temperature is not too high.
    In many cases if the temperature is too high the Windows OS on the laptop crashes and freezes.
    I think after a long period of use, the vents may be blocked and this would prevent air from traffic and internal parts would not be properly cooled.

    I clean my fans and cooling grids from time to time with a jet of compressed air. In this case, you could get rid of the dust and debris that is mainly responsible for these issues

    Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion Notebook g6 and the fan works not properly. Here is a link to overheating as it may be the cause of the fan do not work or receive an error message. If the laptop has dust on the fans, it might be overheating and noises. If it does not help at the end of this document it shows you to do a hardware test . Here is a link to restore the BIOS. Restore the BIOS allows an update of the incorrect BIOS.

    Verify that the processor and chassis fans are working and connected to the motherboard and they are clean of any accumulation of dust upward, also check that the fins of the heatsink to the CPU are also clean.

    Check that the air inlets located behind the front panel are also clean of dust and dirt.

  • Error message "system cooling fan does not ' (90 (b) start.

    My window common envy15 7 gives me this message on statup with warnings from the interntant cases or damage the system. The fan is indicated as 90 b

    I did all of the HP system tested at startup. They all pass. So I took off the back and blew all the dust out and turn off the fans. Restarted and no error message. Bottom line, pull back and keep it clean. Thanks for the help to find HP diagnostics. He helped to convince me that the problem was something else.

    Open the PC look inward and look for the fan who does not turn and buy a new fan.
    If the fans are all spinning is maybe the speed is too slow on that question.

    Unfortunately, the cause more likey is a hardware failure which usually means getting the fan replaced.

    I suggest you get a can of compressed air and try to clean all the air vents, especially those around the fan as this can sometimes solve the problem.

    All you can hope is that the fan is blocked by dust or something. Find the fan (exhaust) and put a paper clip bent-out there to prevent the blades turn freely. Blow into the compressed air. If you are lucky it will dislodge a clog. The message means that the fan does not spin and it is stuck or bad. If it is bad, it must send in for service.

    I have a fairly new laptop Satellite X 200 casual CPU overheating problems. I noticed that the fan (CPU?) left at the bottom of the laptop is completely covered inside by a thin sheet of plastic. The contribution of right (GPU?) fan is open and the fan is visible. Now, I don't pretend to know anything on the design of ventilation for laptop, so maybe this is a stupid question, but why the contribution is covered?

    As far as I can tell from google pictures of identical systems otherwise, the fan seems to be visible (ie., no plastic coating). It is difficult to see how the coating don't would not significantly reduce the air flow and indeed when felt hand there seems to be no air flow at all. On the other hand, to the right entrance of GPU, a powerful air flow can be felt constantly.

    So I would like to know if the other X 200 users also have this coating of plastic, and if so, if anyone knows what is the function and if there is a reason to not be deleted? Thanks in advance.

    It's normal. I presume that the vents are covered because the module of cooling on the left doesn't suck the air out, but it turns off.

    I own a Toshiba Satellite P30 Bios version 1.30, XP SP (bought about 9 month ago).
    Since a few weeks I encounter the same problem as the other users have reported in this forum (f.i. Lazlo, March 2005):
    -The system blocks randomly, fans running at high power, only by pressing the button allows you to.
    -After this restart, diagnosis (before Windows starts) display the following message: resource conflict - PCI network in the Groove 3 controller. Bus: 02; Feature: 02; Function: 00.
    No hardware changes have been made to the system.
    Not disabling the Atheros 5004 G network work adapter (System Manager), some gel, but I need WIFI to my network/internet connection!

    Because I've seen other users with the same problem, could you if you please help me with your experience and, hopefully, with the solution to this.

    Have you installed the latest WLan driver?
    Please see the Toshiba page for latest driver version.
    In addition, if this procedure doesn't solve this problem, I would recommend, to recover the operating system with the recovery CD.

    About two weeks ago, I placed my laptop down on the ground. When I picked up two minutes later, there was an error on the screen that read something like "there is a problem with the cooling system, please contact your nearest centre of Toshiba. Since then, the cooling fan has failed.

    I replaced the fan with a different, which also failed, then maybe the problem is the system not the fan? Is there some settings within the system that allows me to manually turn the fan on and off?

    Which means that replace you it with another model?
    Well, I think that another model of fan will never work because notebooks are specific products designed for certain series/models only. This allows you to change the t as well as on desktop computers.

    In my opinion, you should contact the nearest authorized service provider. Guys can replace the fan and order a new one. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair will be free. :)

    After grub starts the operating system, my cpu fan turns off and it never turn on more.
    Sometimes when the CPU's heat it just lit for 2 seconds...

    on ubuntu and archlinux fan turn off when linux starts, it is very dangerous for the unit because the fan never turn on

    on archlinux, I can't try acpi_osi = 'Windows 2006' in the grub menu, I don't know if it can help you
