System Mechanic, by iolo

Hi guys - I recently ordered the latest version of the software, System Mechanic, by iolo technologies for my XPS 8700. It is the good software, or do you think I should send it to the time where I get it? Anyone has any experience with this software? Thxs

I have used this program for a year and had no problems with my computer, as long as I had him. Now I have expired and my computer is very slow. So I think you should keep it.

I downloaded iolo System Mechanic a couple of weeks and since the first time I ran it, I was not able to use my computer at all.

When I start it, it is stuck on a black screen with an arrow in the he or she asks for bootable media or is stuck on a screen that says windows is opening files.

I tried to use a windows disk to fix it, but have had no luck.

The only reason for which I already thought of iolo system mechanic is because I received an email from Toshiba on this subject.

Wish they didn't sent me that!

Never had this problem but it is not very difficult to solve the problems in your system.

You can simply set the system back to the point of time at the beginning before you start running the free health check.

  • Iolo System Mechanic slows down my Satellite C50A-1

I got a mailing or some kind of alert to Toshiba to try the Iolo System Mechanic tune up tool recently.
When I installed it, I found it slowed my laptop rather than to speed because of the TSR 3 he was running in the background all the time. I asked Iolo support if I could disable these but they have never provided a solution, so I uninstalled.

The thing was that my laptop still felt sluggish. So next I wiped my HDD and restored to factory settings, but it feels always sluggish.

Is it possible to System Mechanic has damaged my hardware somehow?

I recommend you do backup recovery. With other words, create a recovery (DVD or USB) media. After that, you can use it to completely erase the HARD drive and reinstall the original recovery image.
Also set default BIOS. After having done that, your machine must be running as for the first day after the first start.

  • anyone else have a problem with iolo System Mechanic killing windows setup?

I have Iolo System Mechanic on my computers three vista. He was very good at doing many things, but all of a sudden all THREE had the windows installer to bite the dust.  This means no possibility to install new anythign and no update.

I've tried a dozen known bugs I found on the web, and the MS not all say to run programs is fine.

Iolo asked for a bunch of info diagnopstic, then abruptly stopped, you answer for me. I don't know how far back, this issue went, so I'm afraid to do a complete reinstall. I just hoped that someone else had the same problem and figured out how to fix it without a clean install.

  • Problems with Windows Installer after using System Mechanic.

I had a problem with my Dell 2 years and was told by the Support Dell buy iolo System Mechanic. However, now I have problems with Windows Installer (it is not installed correctly) and I've read that this can be caused by the registry cleaner in the iolo System Mechanic.

So, really two questions: 1. do I need iolo System Mechanic? 2. how to correctly install Windows Installer?

    Thank you!

So, really two questions: 1. do I need iolo System Mechanic? 2. how to correctly install Windows Installer?

1 no, the registry cleaners can give you immediate relief, but they are a big pain in the long term.

    2. follow the four methods listed in the resolution section of the following article:

I recently bought 9 System Mechanic after enter House and tries to install the program says I need to get the code html 1.3 or higher for the program works correctly. the program asked it to me if I would like to know more, so I clicked on the ok button, who sent me on the microsoft site I downloaded then recamended downloading when you try to install the program on my computer it wouldn't work, I then call the mechanic system and request what to do they said to contact microsoft to get install via the internet , what should I do to get technical staff to get in touch with me on this problem.

Microsft offers free support for preinstalled operating systems (Dell, HP, etc.).

And it's not Microsoft. These are public Forums, hosted by Microsoft.

And we, in these Forums, does not recommend the use of registry cleaners; because they can be dangerous for your operating Systm if used wrongly.

  • When you perform a scan of System Mechanic, showing "your system (C) drive a 152 009 misaligned files (30,26 GB)".

I have a 64 bit HP with a Western Digital drive.  I am running Windows 7 and using the technologies of Iolo System Mechanic 10.5.  When you run the deep analysis SM 10.5 I am constantly getting a report that "your system (C) drive has 152 009 misaligned (30,26 GB) files.  If the system is set to Auto Mode a diskchk is run and no errors or bad sectors are reported.  The 10,5 SM reports the problem is fixed, but it reappears within 24 hours.  In general, I know that this is caused by the way the drive is formatted and the inconsistancies in layers (index etc.).  I think I need to do a full backup and reformat the drive.  Given a 64-bit system the length of the area is 4096 bits (64 ^ 2).  I assumed that the compensation should be set at 63.  Is the proposed solution, how to solve the problem and if it is what are the right setting to repartition the drive?  There is no question, but the lack of alignment, if not corrected does not cause a degradation in performance.  Whenever I go to Microsoft Questions and answers I continue to receive information about 'blue screen' no use that I can see.

It seems to me that Microsoft should have something published to deal with this situation, but I continue to find references to the problem on Microsoft Servers and not the current version of Windows 7.  I think that it is a variant of the same problem, but there is no solution listed that is specific to Windows 7.  It's also frustrating when you look at all the players (it's an HP computer with an installed version of Windows 7, in this case, it means do not call Microsoft because they see it as a problem of HP;) The drive is a Western Digital, but it is installed by HP and if there is something unique about the hardware/firmware by the seller, this means don't call me.  The proplem is identified by Iolo Technologies System Mechanic and I find it almost impossible to contenct them.  Go to a community of experts is a wonderful way to collect information, but I really think that we need a law for the Protection of computer consumers indicating that if you can't get a solution within 7 days you get back the money.

  • Pavilion p6610: recovery program Restore Points is no longer works after AOL System Mechanic ran on my computer

I have Pavilion p6610 desktop Win 7 Home premium 64 bit I have cleaned my computer, tune, Defrag, ran MS fixit, ran malware removal, called internet provider for bad connection (buffering, etc.) they said it was a software program interfering with my ability to computers to have full access to the output of my modem , (only 2 bars on the taskbar icon) so I gave in and decided to try the AOL System Mechanic. Ran all the tools last night, then stop. I tried to open documents of MS today (15/10/2015) will not open. Could not open one of my components of the Microsoft Office 2010 Starter program.  Canceled AOL system mechanic. Removed uninstalled from my system.  Tried 3 different restore point dates back to the 27/09/2015.  None worked. Can't use my program of recovery restore point!

I don't want to have to reformat and start all over again. I thought that AOL Sys.Mech done something in the registry that messed with the start of Microsoft Office 2010 (can't find a more free?) but why we don't joke about my restore points?  I can't restore anything from my computer.  I don't know if something's going to come to work anymore. How can I fix it?

Thanks for any help you can provide...

    Hi @TY965

I understand that you are not able to use restore points, and that you are having problems with a certain software factory installed on your HP System. I'm happy to help you with this.

As a first step, you can try using the Recovery Manager and see if the software is among those available from your original image to install instead of a full factory image installation. See the following document that shows how to do this.

Computers HP - using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7)

Then, to the question of the restoration of the system, maybe try to use SFC/scannow, as described below. The second page includes more specific details to a problem of system restore.

Use the File Checker system to repair missing or corrupted system files - support.microsoft.com

I would like to know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, then please mark this message as a solution. Kudos are also becoming popular.
