  • Do not install driver for media center M7000

Hi all: for the first time here. Full of hope! Recently repaired a system Media Center M7000. Was able to get most of the pilots of the HP excelllent site. However, the audio driver listed when downloaded and loaded into the system just didn't work. Tried to RUN the site as well, and also, nothing positive has happened.

I remembered then, I got the work done on a new system with a motherboard Asus and recalled all pilot had a sound driver. No not even load disk driver m/b, but was able to go to the site Asus driver and download driver from there. Worked perfectly on the media center with Win XP Pro. For later use, I would like to know why the driver listed on the HP download site would not work, but he said it was the correct driver. One was listed, there would be no confusiong courses by selecting one of, say, five or six audio drivers. I have same woked my way down the list of pilot, hopeing to get a workable driver for the Media Center. No luck. Really appreciate the help on this one, because I am sure that I have will meet this situation once again, since I'm a repair technician. Thanks a lot, estimated Jim S

Thanks for such a quick response and recommendation. Downloaded, saved and hope for happier days. Once again, thanks a lot. Jim S

    Hello

I have a qosmio g30-175, it says on the sticker of the authentication windows on my laptop computer Media center 2005, the problem is that when I check the system properties in Control Panel, it says units media center 2002 SP2. I find it confusing, Toshiba gave me the wrong version, or is it quite normal.

I installed windows by using the recovery disk of the product came with my computer.

    Thank you.

Don't worry man. Everything is ok! You have a MCE 2005 version

You have simply checked versions MCE in the wrong way!
If you want to check the MCE versions open media center, click on "settings", then click "about media center". The version of MCE will appear.

What you're watching now is the version of XP/OS. The XP is the Foundation for MCE. ;)

have AMD 64 X 2 DUAL CORE 6000 3.00 GHz.  information system. the display shows 32-bit OS.  He shouldn't say 64-bit?

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion Media Center m8300f. According to specifications, your computer has an AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6000 as you have already said. Also, the specifications indicate that the computer came with Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) installed at the factory. This is the reason why the screen system information displays the 32-bit operating system.

    Personally, I would not recommend installing Windows 8 on your computer. Too many potential problems and a total absence of driver and software support, do to the computer, being 5 years old. Seems a good choice for your Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate 64-bit computer. Your computer has 3 GB of RAM, but 4 GB is the minimum that I would use with a Windows 7 64-bit operating system. Your computer supports the following specifications of memory;

    Dual channel memory architecture

    Four connectors DIMM DDR2 240-pin

    Supported DIMM types:

    PC2-4200 (533 MHz)

    PC2-5300 (667 MHz)

    PC2-6400 (800 MHz)

    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered

Supports DIMM DDR2 2 GB modules

Supports up to 8 GB on 64-bit PCs

Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit PCs

  • Windows Media Center ruins my games

Windows Media Center is to give me a real kick in the face. I tried to play Guild Wars and Combat arms, both are online games only. But when I run games, it takes a few seconds and all of a sudden, housing starts Windows Media Center and disable the games. Then the only thing I can do is to stop the games. I can't connect in the first place, I have to stop him directly to the output. And once I have stop the games, Windows Media Center is displayed. I tried to disable WMC, and I contacted Swedish support of Microsoft. I also followed this guide , but I've not deleted, only disabled and who did not work at all.

Is new, the computer I had yesterday, and it is a Packard Bell iMedia A5610 NCD, with Windows Vista Service Pack 1 installed (standard software, installed when I bought the computer). I bought this computer in order to play these games, and when this happened, I was so angry and disappointed.

  • need to drive replacement for xp media center edition 2005 operating system

Computer crashed. active hard drive & ok. virus taken flight. Computer came with XP Media Center 2005 and Office already installed. It's a HP Pavilion. HP sells more spare parts because it is more than 5 years old. Where can I find an another disk operating system? Don't want to lose Office. Not too worried about anything else.

burn the Hiren s cd in order to get at least to the desktop, you need to do is to look at the drive in disk management and see if a second partition is listed on the player, that would be the recovery partition.

If a recovery partition is not displayed, you can use hiren to repair the registry:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_xp-system/error-missing-or-corrupt/a1cf7ecf-e6c8-4546-AB88-f0e5abde7a13?msgId=52ff9278-5721-4B37-8887-700e274493b8

read the response from Wunders for instructions on repairing the registry hive.

But first traveled with the parameter/r hiren checkdisk, instructions are in my reply with download the hiren.

Here are the instructions to burn a bootable cd with the recovery console, you do not have installation cd.

Here's how to make a bootable xp recovery console cd

    Courtesy of JoseIbarra

You need start by booting in XP using a CD Recovery Console, you can do (no XP media required) and run a chkdsk with error correction command enough times until it is clean and if it does not, you can create a new boot.ini file (this is usually one of two things).

    Here's how:

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget what you have (no XP media required).

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    RC. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.thecomputerparamedic.com/?p=8    (courtesy of Daavee)

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient. If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

you will need to burn the cd from a working pc

    Microsoft now sells Windows 7.

Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:

    Hi, Henrik:

Specifications of your PC seem to meet all of the hardware requirements to be able to fully run W7.

    P D 915 processor is capable of 64-bit.

    ( (4M-Cache-2_80-GHz-800-MHz-FSB http://ark.intel.com/products/27515/Intel-Pentium-D-Processor-915-)

I recommend you max on your memory to 4 GB as a 64-bit operating system requires more memory to run a 32 bit OS.

A 32 bit OS will perform better on a PC that is running less than 4 GB of memory, unless you need a 64-bit system to run 64-bit programs.

I would also start the W7 Upgrade Advisor to confirm what I posted.

When you received your entry door, it came with a CD or operating system recovery disc.
