There is no default password, that sound that you origonally set, try to leave empty/empty if it does not "ggogle to know how to reset.

  • In the System Recovery Options administrator password?

    Hello dear users of Toshiba.

I'm willing to use the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" in the "System Recovery Options" (after pressing F8 when the computer starts) but when I select Administrator as a user, he invites me for a password.

I double checked my Vista user accounts and the administrator (me) is certainly not no matter what password that are bound to him.
My problem is that I can't use recovery tool if I don't log in as an administrator...

Can someone please help? Y at - it factory default password?

    Thanks to you all!

    Hello

To be honest, your announcement confused me a bit especially the part where you wrote: but when I select Administrator as a user. I don't understand what you mean with it.
    But first some basic information:

Can you imagine you use Toshiba notebook with the settings and someone will make a joke and use the F8 option and reinstall Vista. All of your settings, data and pre-installed software will be gone. Or can someone just use cell phones stolen to get around Vista secure password for laptop and do clean install of Vista using F8 option.

To avoid this Toshiba has this security feature and each try to reload Vista password OS will be refused. So if you use the password to log in to Vista the same password will be required before the installation of recovery begins. By default, there is no password and the name of the administrator account will be shown when you start the recovery procedure. When you enter the correct password, the installation will continue.

So much about the theory. I don't know how you do and which account you use, but the fact is, without administration account name and correct password, you won't be able to install Vista using this HARD drive recovery option.

  • Lost administrative password recovery options

About once a day, I see the same post

"I lost my administrative password for my computer"

    "I don't remember my password"

"I need to change the password and I don't remember"

Without failure, we put the passwords and forget about them and it is not always a simple process to remedy this solution. However, it is a simple process and can easily be avoided. If you read this thread and you have not lost your password to take measures now to protect yourself in case this happens. It will save you time and effort. Always remember, act now to save time tomorrow.

Retrieve the password using a password reset disk

This should be your preferred method to reset your password as this is something that you can do and need to do when you settle your account with a password. The password recovery CD must be created before you lost the password to be effective. If you have not already created it and you read this thread to be upward and out with what to do if you are having this issue right now stop and go create this disc.

    Instructions available here

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-password-reset-disk

Now, if you have the drive and you have lost your password it is very simple.

1 start the computer and try to enter the password on the Windows login screen

    2. the password is incorrect message opens, and from there, you can select ok

    3. once the screen goes away, a new screen appears with an option to reset the password.

    4. follow the instructions on the screen and use the password reset disk to reset your password

Change your password to a different user account

If you have multiple user accounts, and at least one of these other accounts have administrator rights, then you can reset your password from the other account. The password of this account may be necessary, then you can check with the owner of the account.

    1. connect to the other account has administrator rights

    2. click the start ORB, then select the Control Panel

    3. from here, select the accounts of users and parental control

    4. Select Manage another account

    5. click on the account with the forgotten password

    6. click on change password

    7. type a new password and press on enter to confirm

    8. click on change password

9 disconnect you, then try to log on to the original account

    Return to a previous password

If you have recently changed your password and now can't remember, you can use the application of Microsoft System Restore to return to a time before you changed the password. This would of course imply remind you which has been the case the previous password.

To go back and use your old password follow these steps:

    1. press on the F11 key repeatedly to open the HP System Recovery program on the system startup

    2. under, I need help immediately, click the Microsoft System Restore option

    3. follow the instructions to restore the computer to a previous state, choose a time before you changed the password.

Use a third-party program to attempt to reset / recover password

HP, like most other companies, do not support the use of third-party applications, but they do exist. If you cannot use one of the options mentioned previous then this is may be the option you want to try.

Removal and recovery of password programs exist and can be found on the internet through various searches on google.

One of these programs can be found here http://www.pcloginnow.com/ with instructions on how to use it here http://www.pcloginnow.com/guide.html

Remember that HP mentioned earlier does not support the use of third-party software to retrieve lost passwords, and then you use this tool or any other tool at your own risk.

Hope this helps you recover your lost password, or you read and warning and make a recovery for you disk protect.

  • Different on the MS recovery console administrator password

When I was with the XP CD recovery console, he asked my password.  When I typed in it, it is incorrect.  However, once I typed in anything, it worked.  I have a single installation of windows, so the first question, which is "what Setup do you access", had only one possibility, of course.  Maybe it was a virus that has changed.  But once I took action, the usual log on screen appeared, and my password worked.  Is the recovery console suppose to do?  Why?  This is my 3rd time only having to use the console. most of them have been guided, anyway.  I'm not familiar with the controls.

Unfortunately, we do not know much about your system, so we have to endure a round of Q & A to provide the best advice.

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

The XP Recovery Console "must" the XP administrator password, and the default XP administrator password is any password empty or empty, so if you just press the Enter key has the prompt for Password Recovery Console, which usually works.

The RC will always ask you which installation you want to use - even if you have just a single installation (this is normal).

Sometimes people may not enter the RC because they do not know, I forgot or never knew their administrator password... then they're stuck - but only temporarily.

Sometimes the way XP has been installed (as in a store bought system) can thwart attempts to get past the Password Recovery Console.

If it is your desire, you can configure XP simply do not ask for a password when starting in the Recovery Console.

If you do a search on the Internet (Google, Bing, etc.) you can find a lot of articles on the use of the Recovery Console.

Here are some links of Microsoft on RC orders:

  • System repair fron start CD requires the administrator password.

Have many problems (right click, explore crashes, slow response) various virus scans find nothing.

System Restore does not work (tried 5 more than 6 weeks old Restore Points)

I tried the repair from the CD, but the CD is WP SP2 so that it refuses to repair XP SP3.

I boot from the CD and it askes that push to start from so I select the CD D:

    Then there an administrator password.

If I just hit ENTER it does not accept that.

The only place that I can't imagine asking an administrator password is in the recovery console, but this isn't where you want to be if you try to reinstall Windows from scratch.

If you don't mind destroying all data on the disk, you can follow the instructions here: http://www.icompute.info/restore_with_B_PE_disk.htm

Virus cannot write in the BIOS so I wouldn't worry about it, and you're right that may not be on the CD, and I highly doubt that you would have one on your hard drive, either--so no need to panic :)

I hope that the above link will be of some use :)

I hope this helps! Please vote or mark as correct answer if it doesn't :)

Since it is a second hand bought computer, if it came preloaded with Windows 7, its better if you reinstall Windows 7:

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    ------------------------------------

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
