System recovery, restoration and all things new:

Hello fellow owners of HP!

I have a question regarding the reinstallation of the OS of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit for a laptop I bought in 2009.

I ordered a DVD repair system of this Web site that has been offered for an AWESOME $12 for my Pavilion DV6, and I was wondering if I can use this same set of DVD to repair another laptop I have. My concern is not necessarily on the OS itself (even if I still wish a response as to whether or not I can use on my HP G60), but if it will remove the factory installed drivers as well.

When I got the DVD to repair it came with a disc of "supplement" and I'm assuming that this disc has the factory of DV6 that drivers. I don't know if it's clear enough, so, if not, please let me know and I'll give you the necessary information to properly evaluate this issue.

Thank you!

You are the very welcome.

Yes, there is a way to install W7 Home Premium x 64 SP1 if you can still read all 25 characters of the product key of W7 on the bottom of the laptop.

Here is the link to the English version of the ISO file.

http://MSFT.digitalrivercontent.NET/win/X17-58997.ISO 2147483647 English Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 X 17 - 58997.iso

Then use this tool to transfer the ISO to a flash USB 4 GB or DVD drive.

The tool also performs the bootable media.

Make sure that the size of the ISO file you get is that the download site indicated that it was.

Sometimes the download says "complete", but it wasn't and you end up with a partial file, which will not work.

    Hi Jeff,

    1. you receive messages or error codes?

    2. did you of recent changes on the system?

If you are able to boot into safe mode without any problem, you can try to perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

    Method 2:

If you are always faced with the question, then you can check if you can start your computer by using the known last good Configuration feature and fix the problem.

You can read the following article to do the same thing:

Using the last good known Configuration

    Method 3:

If the steps above fail, then you must have a full version of Windows Vista disk and try to perform a repair of the boot to WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment) boot from the installation disc.

If restarting fails, then try to perform a restore of the system to WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment).

  • How can I recover all my files that I lost in an accident? I had to use my system recovery disk and install drivers for my computer again. I lost all my files. Is there something I can do?

Help!  How can I recover all my files that I lost?  I was answering an e-mail message when I heard a couple of clicks then my computer off.

I thought that my computer was destroyed.  Nothing I tried would bring it to the top, so I decided to use the system recovery disc that

came with my computer.  I've also downloaded all the drivers for the application.  My computer is back on, but I lost everything.

It's like putting into service with a new computer.  I had a lot of important information in the files that I lost.  I've tried everything I know to do

without success.  Is it still possible to recover these lost files?  Thank you very much for your help!

    Hello

I'm sorry, but when you did the recovery of the system you have disabled your hard drive of everything, including your files.

You now have a new computer.

You can try this program (it's free) to see if he 'can' find and recover your files. no guarantee:

  • After full system recovery, wireless and audio no longer work on R61i!

    Hi all

I recently did a full system recovery on my thinkpad r61i and restarted my computer, I noticed that my wireless network no longer appears under my network connections. The only thing that appears is my local network. In addition, my sound no longer. Is it possible that somehow my wireless has been deleted during the system recovery? What should I do about restoring wireless on my computer, but also the sound? Advice would be useful! In addition, the switch wireless on my computer is on.

I solved the problem. I went on the Lenovo Web site and downloaded the Wi - Fi drivers and audio missing.

  • Can I delete my recovery disc and create a new? (HP Envy ko25dx m6)

Hi, I have a HP envy ko25dx m6 that I had a few problems of Windows 8 upgrade to 8.1. I was stuck at a black screen at startup upward. I had to contact the HP support by phone and they ended up sending me a flash drive with the recovery factory data. When I went through the process of getting my computer working again, one of the steps set to the recovery on the D: drive partition to store the data of the flash player in order to proceed. I ended the process and return my computer to Windows 8. After finishing, I now have a problem. By clicking on file Explorer, D: drive shows that almost complete, but when I click on it to view the files, he said "this folder is empty". When I go into computer management-storage-disk management, I have 2 recovery drive D: of. a watch NTFS file system, while the other has a white and they are both free 11% (89% full). There are also 3 other volumes without a name; 2 have a status of "healthy (recovery partition)" and 1 has a status of "healthy (EFI system recovery). These volumes without a name are a total of 1 100 MB (1.1 GB) and they are all 100% free. The only thing that shows when I right click all these volumes, D is help and when I click that, without a name, it is in fact, not useful. When I right-click the C: drive, it shows: open, to explore, to mark the partition as active, etcetera... Is it possible for me to access and return the volumes not named in C:? And is there a way for me to delete the data on the D: drive and recreate the data of recovery from this point?  A week ago I tried the upgrade from 8 to 8.1. During the process, it was recommended I have create a collection set but was unable to do so because of the saturated D: drive and the fact that I didn't have a pretty great to external storage. I decided to update the drivers and go forward without creating recovery series or by creating a large enough volume of space I have on C:. When the computer was made with installation and update of its utmost, it got stuck on a black screen again, this time with the cursor and the ability to access with Ctrl + Alt + Delete Task Manager. I had to use it to manually download drivers Windows 8.1 because it was not possible to do it from 8. 8.1 now works. I keep getting warnings about D: being so full and I understand having a nearly full disk affects the performance of the computer. If more information is needed, please let me know. Thanks for reading, if you haven't done this until now!

    All "readers" you see are part of the factory installation of Windows 8 and HP. The recovery partition is designed to return the computer to a factory State and nothing more. You cannot delete the d: partition "HP Recovery" and re-create an updated recovery image. The following illustration shows the partitions installed at the factory on my 13 HP x 2 Split;

  • Using system recovery discs and now windows won't load.

My computer crashed and I tried everything to get it running and backup. My desktop computer does start all the way to the top.

The HP page will load, so I can use the f keys. When I run the diagnostic tools (f9) it test all memory, cpu, hardware ect and says it's fine.

I reloaded Windows Vista off my system recovery disks, I did once I bought the computer. I had to do it every six months or more. Several times in recent weeks.

It then goes to the windows error recovery page if I select one of the options, it is empty. It never makes it to the login page.

    Thank you

There is no limit on the number of times you can use the recovery disks.  You must contact the manufacturer about the recovery process, as it is them and not Microsoft.  Each manufacturer does things differently and we don't have access to this information.

In regard to the upgrade to Windows7, you must upgrade work install Vista system if it does not you will need to purchase a full retail copy of Windows7 and do a cleaning.  The problem is that you don't know if Windows7 is compatible with your system - and once you open the package the seller will probably accept returns.  It ' was a great risk to do this withour executes the first Windows7 Compatibiity advise http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-advisor.aspx but if you have no access to your system you can't run it.  You can get in your system somehow?  Have you tried safe mode with networking (repeatedly press F8 during the boot process until the menu appears)?  If you can somehow get, run this check before considering the upgrade to Windows7.  You can also ask the manufacturer if your system is compatible with Window7 but they may or may not provide a correct answer.  The decision and the risk is all yours.

The short answer is that you need to discuss this problem with the manufacturer and follow their advice.

    I hope this helps.

  • can super cookies listed in its properties as an MS-DOS program to store in a vista system recovery partition and stay an MS-DOS program if a system recovery is performed

I may have a great cookie in the folder my documents of the website dove.us.  I have a HP

    from my pc.

    Hello

The recovery of the system takes your computer to a State where you will have just the factory settings and nothing more. In other words, that it will also format the computer in this process.

So, I'm sure that the cookie will be effacΘ when you do a full system restore. You can check the items below which talks about backup and restore. I also suggest you make a backup of data you want to keep for the future and to restore once you reinstall the operating system.

  • When you perform a system recovery - it removes all partitions created?

    Model number: HP Pavilion p6795
Operating system: A Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, now Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

I'm looking to do a system restore to return my system to the default settings. I usually share my records in particular, D: data separate operating system and program files.

Could you please confirm it removes all partitions created on the main hard drive (for example, the D: drive) data?

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hello

Yes, remember the day you bought the unit it will be taken back to this parameter.

  • How can I perform a system recovery to get all lost data.

I need help in performing a full recovery of the system to recover lost files and data.

    DavysLocker,
Thanks for posting with us.  The only way to recover the lost data is if you have the backup of your system.  The system restore feature does not have the personal data.  If you use the Windows backup utility to back up your data, then you will just run the troubleshooter, and then follow the steps to restore data.
If you do not have a backup of your system, then you can check with the local PC stores on data recovery.  Also, there are available data recovery programs but I don't know how they work although I've never used one. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Cannot cancel the process of creation of recovery media and start a new

Help me to cancel the recovery media creation process and it all over again because I found that I need four discs to make the establishment of recovery. I did the first disc, but I need to get an another three discs for the process to be completed. It is said that "creation of media recovery is not complete", if I want to cancel the whole operation and start from the beginning later when I'm ready for it. How I can do this, measures or instructions to solve this problem would be appreciated.

    Computer: HP Pavilion dv6-6120se

OS: Windows 7 Edition home premium x 64

You can create only one set of recovery disks. So once the process is complete, you will not be able to create a new one.
