Using system recovery discs and now windows won't load.

My computer crashed and I tried everything to get it running and backup. My desktop computer does start all the way to the top.

The HP page will load, so I can use the f keys. When I run the diagnostic tools (f9) it test all memory, cpu, hardware ect and says it's fine.

I reloaded Windows Vista off my system recovery disks, I did once I bought the computer. I had to do it every six months or more. Several times in recent weeks.

It then goes to the windows error recovery page if I select one of the options, it is empty. It never makes it to the login page.

Thank you

There is no limit on the number of times you can use the recovery disks.  You must contact the manufacturer about the recovery process, as it is them and not Microsoft.  Each manufacturer does things differently and we don't have access to this information.

In regard to the upgrade to Windows7, you must upgrade work install Vista system if it does not you will need to purchase a full retail copy of Windows7 and do a cleaning.  The problem is that you don't know if Windows7 is compatible with your system - and once you open the package the seller will probably accept returns.  It ' was a great risk to do this withour executes the first Windows7 Compatibiity advise http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/upgrade-advisor.aspx but if you have no access to your system you can't run it.  You can get in your system somehow?  Have you tried safe mode with networking (repeatedly press F8 during the boot process until the menu appears)?  If you can somehow get, run this check before considering the upgrade to Windows7.  You can also ask the manufacturer if your system is compatible with Window7 but they may or may not provide a correct answer.  The decision and the risk is all yours.

The short answer is that you need to discuss this problem with the manufacturer and follow their advice.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

    Really need help here

    Hello Lauren,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

If your computer came pre-installed with Windows 8, then using the recovery disk don't ask for the product key. The product key of Windows 8 on new machines is now integrated into the motherboard. It uses the Secure Boot technology.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. If you have an OEM computer that is preinstalled with Windows 8, then you must contact the manufacturer of the computer that the computer broke down recently so that they can help you.

If your computer came pre-installed with Windows 7, then you must install Windows 7 first and then upgrade to Windows 8.

Response with the State of the question and we will be happy to offer you our help.

I'm sorry, but when you did the recovery of the system you have disabled your hard drive of everything, including your files.

You now have a new computer.

  • System Disk Image recovery and system recovery discs discs

    These terms are very confusing.

I had 3 HP computers to office over the past 15 years and have always comes to an ERD but my luck could escape and I'm going to need one of them.

However, I'm confused.  I thought that as HP comes with a drive D: original Image, it would be enough.

I make records of recovery or system disk Image?  Are they the same?  My HP Advisor on this computer again I do "system recovery discs!

I would really like someone explain (in novice language) which mean the above and what I need to do?

I appreciate so much people in the help forums, as I learned more from them than books I have.

    Twinkie3

Hello Twinkie3, I suggest making the game to restore HP Recovery disks.  Even if you have the recovery restore D: hard disk partition, it may be damaged or if the hard drive fails and needs to be replaced, you would not be able to access the recovery partition.

If you have to replace the hard drive, you can only insert disc 1 of the the recovery set and put the system back as it was when shipped. Without these records, you would need to try to acquire at HP for a cost to you, and after a while, they are not available.

The set of recovery disks cannot be done once and only be used to restore your particular system.

Normally, it takes 3 DVD discs but can take longer depending on the size of the restore partition.

The HP advisor don't constantly remind important you to these disk since it's a step in maintaining your system over time.

  • How can I create system recovery disc for a new laptop with windows 7 Home Premium?

I just bought my daughter a new Toshiba Satellite with Windows 7 Home Premium laptop last night. The laptop came with a Windows restore disk. How to create a set of boot from the DVD then when the system fails, or I need a new facility? I created a system repair disc and two-disc Image recovery. Is this enough to fully restore Windows 7 to the initial state of machines? (Technology at best buy assured me that it was nothing that I was able to do and that they would do for me for $70.00.)

In short: my Dell came with a system recovery disk which was very convenient. I would like to reproduce this convenience with Windows 7. Any help appreciated.

    Jim

You will need to follow the manufacturers directions to create the recovery media. Looks like you've done that, but Toshiba could only say with certainty. I recommend that you contact their customer service.

    Hi Robertc70810949,

It is a digression of your technical question, but you haven't purchased two separate subscriptions for creative cloud? You are probably aware of this, but just in case you're not, a single Plan of creative photography cloud allows installation and activation on two computers. These computers can be two Macs, two windows, or one of each. See Adobe Creative Cloud FAQ for more information. Of course, you can have another reason to buy multiple subscriptions, but I wanted to clarify in case you can save yourself a little money.

    Kind regards

    Del

  • How to recover my computer to factory settings? How to buy recovery discs and which ones?

I recently bought a used computer on craigslist.  It's a HP Pavilion a6700f.  He came originally with Vista, but the previous owner installed Windows 7 32 on it.  I want to put it back to factory settings, but I can't seem to do it without the recovery disks, which I did not.  I have tried F11 at startup, but the system recovery won't be open in this way for a reason any.  I tried to buy HP recovery disks, but they only for Windows Vista 64-bit.  I'm not sure if my computer came with Vista 64 bit or -34, although she has 34 bit Windows 7 right now.  How can I recover the computer to factory settings?  Can I buy the Vista 64-bit recovery discs and use them?  Will they work?  Thank you.

    Hello

The command system will work for you given that provide you the product id of your machine. Please use the following link, it should tell you that the original operating system:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143

    Good luck.

ps. Based on the following link, its original operating system was:

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium with Windows Media Center with Vista Service Pack 1 (64-bit)

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&TaskID=120&prodSeriesId=3823602&prodTypeId=12454&ObjectID=c01612528

Therefore, it should work with 64 bit.

  • Error-Windows won't load disc playback

Monday my computer worked fine in the morning, and then I drove 5 hours back to school and when I tried to turn on the computer I got a disc «read error press Ctrl + alt + delete to restart»

Today, I burned a copy of the disc on a Vista recovery cd and booted from there and ran a repair.

I then also followed instructions from a forum here that says that OS was not when he ran the repair. Who cleared up the problem of disk error.

However, now my computer still load windows. It retains a windows error recovery screen loading and I get the options to start in safe mode, normal, or last known working scene and I did all the people and they are trying to run and then the computer stops and restarts.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas, I'm running on the recovery disk again now to see if my operating system can be found.

About 3 weeks ago, the hard drive that came with the computer crashed and we ordered a new one. It seems unlikely that the hard drive could fail in such a short period of time.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit on my Dell Inspiron 1525.

    CHANGE 1217 CSE

I am running the recovery disc and my screen is to System Recovery Options, and it always seems that my OS will be not registered.

When I run windows in safe mode, it says LOADING of FILES of WINDOWS and he gets as much as

    \Windows\systems32\drivers\crcdisk.sys

    Hello

The above error message indicates that it is not to find your operating system (Windows).
This could be because the hard drive is physically wrong or because Windows is incredibly corrupt. Since you're not savvy computer, take the machine to a competent local computer technology.
Do not use a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad of the place. Or if the machine is still under warranty, call the manufacturer's technical support.

    It will be useful.

  • I dropped my laptop and now windows starts too slowly or not at all, except in safe mode.

    Hi people out there

I dropped my phone a few days ago and now Windows, when started normally, goes ridiculously slow and then stops before he installed the sidebar.

It still works in safe mode with networking and the other.  Then one of my friends suggested I just get my vista disk and re-install/repair windows.  However, I am currently in Poland, and my drive is in Scotland.  Is there a way I can solve these problems with my windows?  Can I borrow a disc from a friend?  I am really attached to money at the moment then, really, to take it to a store is very much a last resort.

Can anyone offer some (very basic please) advice on what to do?

    Thank you

See if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

I had a similar issue that he wasn t possible to create the recovery so media I bought Virgin s manufacturing another DVD (Verbatim DVD-R) and it worked!

It seems that DVD - R media works well instead of DVD + R
