System registry errors?

I recently came N360 registry cleaning for the first time on my Vista Home Premium computer.  Immediately, my computer became unusable.  Almost every service I try to access gives an error message.  For example, IE8 does not connect to the internet, and when I try to run the Network Diagnostics I get a message that "Network Diagnostics cannot run because the Diagnostics Policy Service is not running."  The message contains a link to open the 'Service Control Manager' and once there I think that all the local Services on my computer has been disabled.  Disabled services stretch across all services, the "Bluetooth Service" to "Apple Mobile Devices" "DNS Client", etc.  Accordingly, nothing works.

I tried to run a restore point to return my system it's previous state, but I get a different error message: "no restore points have been created on your computer's system disk" even though I am of course old restore points have previously saved.

I tried running N360 but I get a different error message: "could not open this product Norton".

Can anyone suggest a way of locating the old restore points?  My alternative is to manually restart all services that are not running, but I fear that it will not reverse any errors associated with the process of registry cleaning.

Thank you very much.

Hey RussBridge

It's a bad move never use Registry cleaners, but I guess you know that already

Here are some tips if you are having problems using the system restore unless the registry cleaner has their damn

If you are using norton it will stop system restore

    Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

    Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

    This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

    This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

    -Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
    For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
    Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

    For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
    Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
    your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
    Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
    Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

    Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
    with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

    Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
    Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
    BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

    Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

    Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
    presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
    in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

    Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

    Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

    Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
    It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

    If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
    Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
    older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
    get new manually if you wish.

    I have a Compaq Presario computer that runs Windows Vista Basic 32 bit. Two days ago I got the message, unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem:

    1. Insert your installation disc and restart your computer. 2. choose your language settings, and then click Next. 3. click on repair your computer.

    Mike, I don't see any of the screens have shown in the tutorial... just a black screen that continues to take back me to this God awful message, Windows could start... is the disk Windows SP1 integrated the correct disk, I need to repair or reinstall Windows?

    If this is a good DVD of Vista, not a HP, Dell, recovery disk etc. you should be able to repair or to reinstall Vista with it.

    A factory recovery disc does not normally gives you the choice of remedy; It is a straight line to reinstall.

    If you are starting to leave her properly and still get the message, you have a hardware problem.

    Here's how Boot from the DVD drive:

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Make sure that everything is done correctly first.

    Here is the full and correct way to use the ERD to Startuip:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    And here's how to do the clean install:
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
  • Computer has been great, but now running slow, hot and almost 50% registry errors. What is going on?
    Computer will have 2 years in April.  Had no problems until last week when it crashed.   Could not get going by the restoration of the State of origin.  Now runs very slowly and has very high CPU usage.  Internet often stops.   Fan runs all the time, I think (tried air compressed for the first time and has not solve).  Discovered that I have registry errors almost 50%.  I tried CCleaner for free and did not help.  Any suggestions?
    Hello
    ·         Since when are you facing this problem?
    ·         Using internet connection wired or wireless?
    ·         What operating system is installed on your computer?
    I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below:
    Method 2:
    b. click network and Internetand then click Internet Connections.
    Method 3:
  • dll from System 32 error code (0 x 300000030)
    dll from System 32 error code (0 x 300000030)
    First of all, if you have gone through your windows folder, you might be familiar with the name of the system32 folder. This is a very important issue and part of your operating system without which your system may not work at all. Some consider it as the brains of the operation because it contains many dll files in what is active and runing in every process of your system. As it is an important part of your operation, I want to tell you to keep away from this folder and never delete or change anything. It's all about your system 32 folder located in your windows folder. This has nothing to do with system32.dll.
    System32.dll is a Trojan called harnig. Harnig Trojan isn't part of your operating system and is a very harmful infected file that will give all your information navigation to advertisers and sponsors. It can also result in loss of data and information from your system. The developer of this Trojan must were smart by naming "system32" to confuse people because the experts always fear users to stay away from the system32 folder.
    Now that you know the difference, you do not necessarily have to deal with these problems by yourself. But if you have a missing dll file or a file that is corrupted in your system 32 folder, you can try some easy stuff for yourself. First of all, you can try the system restore to an earlier date which is a good way to fix many problems by taking your computer to the date of the last when your operating system have saved all of your settings. You can easily do this by restarting your computer. Once the computer stops and tries to start again you must press f8 until you see the black screen with options and then select 'safe mode' and choose the option to start windows system restore. If this does not work, you can try another way by the same procedure that is, restart your computer and press F8, but instead select "safe mode", select "Start using last good known Configuration".
    Now, all these things might or might not help you fix or replace your system32.dll files. But how can you be sure that there is a corrupt or a dll file missing in your system 32 folder? Because their could be a virus in your system 32 folder that is if other dll files. It could be something similar to the system32.dll file. You can easily solve the problem of virus system32.dll and another problem of dll with the help of a good registry cleaner that got all of the definitions and the dll files library.
    NO YOU DO NOT HAVE A REGISTRY MORE CLEAN!
    According to many "analyzers; and "cleaners", a new system out of the box will be hundreds of registry 'Mistakes' - they are not mistakes at all and may be to reduce the risk of problems later.
    All registry cleaners have one goal - to enrich the writer.
    They do nothing else, except potentiall paralyze your system
    There is NO 'good' registry cleaner
    Registry cleaners fix errors without importance offering significant benefits and this can create unsolvable system, errors that cannot be solved by reinstalling Windows and all that cause.
    How repair/replace these entries?
    My computer runs on Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.
    Hey Sapphire,
    Your computer can still be infected if you have not run antivirus, try everything first to update your antivirus and run a full scan of the system in safe mode. Once you scan your system, try running system mechanic. AFAIK, you can copy the mechanic system to any folder on any drive and it will work / recreate its registry entries if you do not have to reinstall. What you can do is to try to run mechanic system mode administrator-> click right mechanical executable file of the system (in the program folder) and select run as.
    You may be prompted to enter the key to license again.
    I hope this helps.
    You need not register to speed up your PC, registry is an important part of the system, and you should not change it and it is better than not using any which registry cleaner. Instead, you can use free tools in Windows to speed up your PC, including:
    (1) defragnment
    clean the disc 2)
    check the disk 3)
    And also update your Windows and full-body scan with anti-virus and also to remove programs that you don't want to add/remove programs in Control Panel. I also suggest that take a look at:
  • Windows XP Home Edition does not start: System Configuration Error Code purple?
    I ran recently on my Windows XP Home Edition SP3 computer system recovery and once the recovery is finished I rebooted the system and then this message and I'm stuck here.
    I don't have any disc that came with the computer because it was very long ago already. I tried to download the 'Home Edition Set Up disk for Floppy Boot Installation of Windows XP"Microsoft, but I can't launch the ff:
    Windows XP Home Edition
    Windows XP Home Edition SP1
    Windows XP Home Edition SP2
    I can't create the configuration of disk for home edition, SP1, and SP2 because this computer I use currently is a 64 bit and no floppy drive. That's why I downloaded this instead:
    Windows XP Service Pack 3 - file to Image CD ISO-9660
    From:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=2fcde6ce-b5fb-4488-8c50-fe22559d164e&displaylang=en
    I burned a DVD ROM, but I don't know what to do next. After burning, I reinserted the disc to your computer from the active autorun. Then I inserted the disc for my Windows XP that has "System Configuration Error" and I tried to restart it but theres just no autoplay or anything that the computer always crosses the "System Configuration Error" message and I don't know how to access the set up disc. What should I do? Help please... :(
    Our Modem dies on us and we waited for another expedition, we tried to play old games from our old computer that had windows 98. We have now XP and a new computer. But the games would not play because they seemed not compatiable with this new system. Ever since then with the new modem, which is the same as the last who dies, the computer runs VERY slowly and is worse than dial-up, we have DSL. I have Norton 360 and Regisrty Revivier. They seem to help, but after a few minutes to an hour, the system slowes horribly. Please help me! I deleted this remotley near the old games too.
    Get rid of the registry reviver (make sure that registry cleaner you are using, some may make things worse) and Norton. What you wanted first of all, have you not uninstall? Do not remove the folder. You will have more probs
  • How to fix registry errors
    Hello
    After having solved my problem KSOD, I ran a scanner who said that I had a lot (400 odd) errors in my registry. The scanner would solve only 15 well (I found it free online)
    Is it possible that I can delete these registry errors or is there another scanner that will do for me?
    The online registry Scanners that you 'will find' are a complete waste of time and especially the SCAMS.
    Let alone registry cleaners.
    You should only work in your registry manually; and then ONLY if you know what you're doing.
    A modern operating system like Vista does not normally require all work to do inside during normal operations.
    See you soon.
