System Restore and windows updates

I tried to uninstall Windows LiveOne care safety Scanner because I uploaded it by mistake and it does not work for 64 bit Windows 7 computers.  It wouldn't uninstall.  So I tried to restore my computer to an earlier time.  Two questions:

The Safety Scanner LiveOne is still there and I still can't uninstall it.  Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

The restore point was before the latest Windows updates.  Would updates have been deleted by the system restore?  I checked to see if I have the updates and I do, but I don't understand how that's possible.  No explanation?

Just to let you know that I FINALLY solved my problems and was able to do a system restore which got rid of the Analyzer.  First of all, in order to make a system successfully restore, I had to disable self-protection in my anti-virus program.  Then I took a better dot restore by running the "scan programs affected" before restoring.  Who showed me what restore point would eliminate the safety scanner.  I did all of this while being disconnected from the internet.  It worked.  The latest updates of Windows have been removed also, but I downloaded them again, so now my computer should be back to where it was more or less before I downloaded the scanner.

I learned another thing, and this does not assume that a program for Windows 7 is automatically correct for a 64-bit Windows computer.  I consider that it could not be.  It would have been nice if the download scanner security indicated in a very good location that was for a 32-bit computer only.

Thanks for your efforts.  They are appreciated.

    Hello

You should go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest network drivers wifi and card.

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT after each driver.

Maybe the other pilots. software and updates to the BIOS, you can get there.

Control Panel - Device Manager - double-click on a device and check the version.

  • critical error after system restore and windows updates

I cleaned up my old computer and did a system restore.  Subsequently, I have install windows to perform automatic updates.  The computer detected 37 windows updates and install them.  After a successful windows install update, the computer said I had to reboot so I did.  Now the computer tries to start but then comes a blue screen with a bunch of text and then said: critical error.  I tried to do a system restore, and when I get to the part, he begins to restore and gets to 13% and then says critical error and I have tried to try again, but nothing happens.  Stuck... Please advise.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a repair system restore / boot:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

  • System Restore and security updates

A did the system restore for a March 22, 2010, as Windows Explorer had become deadly slow and I was unable to determine why. Seems fine now.

    My question is:

Do I need to download and install new updates of security for Windows XP (professional sp3) published since the date of the system restore?

Since the restoration Sys, add/remove programs list not the updates made since February 10 except for fix - update of safety and KB979306 - KB975561) while Microsoft Windows Update Online Service lists 20 people or more who have been previously downloaded.

I'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this for me.

    Thank you.

Yes, automatic updates is enabled. When I ran a manual check for updates through the http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com earlier today, some optional updates and as a bet to critical update - security update Cumulative for IE8 for WinXP (KB980182) - was listed so I downloaded and installed without problem. And you see it in the Add/Remove Programs list.

My security services (Radialpoint) software is complete and up-to-date. I agree by my ISP. No other security/antivirus application is on my system.

.... After looking closer - research on the site of microsoft for some of these updates and looking at the list of updates for my computer from there, it seems actually I could have all the critical updates.  And this long list updates at the end of March, were updates of the previous month.  I guess it is related to the 'unknown' question that I start around March 26 or more.  A question that I don't know led my Permissions being stripped - a lot of access denied.  Maybe that's why.

If all goes well, everything is ok now and "fingers crossed" that won't happen again. I'll monitor the automatic updates and do a manual check from time to time to ensure that everything works as it should.  Receive your answer.

  • Unable to connect to the internet after the system restore and Windows Installer (Vista)

    Hello

I have recently restored the whole system on the HP to my sister a virus that I was unable to remove it manually.
The system restore went well until it has reached the point where he was going to reinstall Windows. The computer just turned itself off and the software installation was not complete. I am able to reinstall again. I must therefore hold the CTRL + alt + delete, go to Task Manager, click on audit.exe and complete the process to turn on the computer. But I can't do anything with it in safe mode. The main problem is: I can't connect to the internet! Even if the network discovery is on it will not find my wireless network. What can I do on the internet? And is it possible to install Windows again without the CD?
    Thanks in advance!

I restarted mode safe and had the same problems without success.

I was able to clear the problem by manually uninstalling updates of security Windows which were loaded on 09/02/2016 through the programs and features Control Panel. Then I did the repair of Avast program operation.  I rebooted the computer and the internet connection worked. Then I reinstalled manually updates Windows security on the Windows Update program.

    Hello

    1. what exactly happens when you try to create a system restore point?

    2. you receive an error message when you create system restore point?

    3. what operating system is installed on the computer?

In the event that you use the Windows 7 operating system you can follow the steps below and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

Locate the service associated with the restoration of the system or Volume Shadow Copy Service is started after the computer is restarted. This service can be stopped by some viruses as well, so you can try to run a scan of your computer.

    To check the service

    (a) click Start

    (b) in the start search box type Services

    (c) click on - RUN as ADMINISTRATOR

Check if the below mentioned services has mentioned State and type start.

    Shadow copy volume started Automatic\Manual

    Step 2:

Also check the dependency services that are required for the System Restore Service run.

To verify that double-click the service, and click the Dependencies tab.

This service must be started before the restore point is created automatically or manually.

    Method 2:

Try disabling the firewall and windows temporarily on the computer security software and then try to create a system restore point and check if that helps.

Follow the articles given below to change the settings for the firewall and security software settings

    Understanding Windows Firewall settings

    Note:

If you are able to perform the system restore after you disable the security software then you may have to contact the software publisher for the security software by disabling the firewall and security software is a potential threat to the security of the system.
