  • Update on the Lenovo solution on system - software update Center

    Hello

I have a question: can not update my software on my laptop. Lenovo on system - sofware update Solution Center cannot be updated.

(Use ThinkVantage system update to update the Lenovo software on your computer. Launch.) This is the last message, I try to launch updated and is not working.

    I have a Lenovo Think Pad S 540

There is no message, the window of the system 5 update and it does not update, nothing happens after 'launch', the message disappears, as the update has never been done. (the internet connection works fine)

Make sure that you have installed on your machine to ThinkVintage. Find the "system updates" to http://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/ht037696 a link and download and install it. Let's see if it will help you.

Please launch the Console application in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

    Step 1

For this step, the title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ all Messages

in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select

List of newspapers seen ▹ display

in the menu at the top of the screen bar.

In the upper right corner of the Console window, there is a search box to filter. Enter the name of the application crashed or process. For example, if Safari has crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes).

Each message in the journal begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages since the time of the last fall, as appropriate. Copy to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command + V.

The journal contains a large amount of information, almost everything that is not relevant to solve a particular problem. When you post a journal excerpt, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't dump blindly thousands of lines in the journal in this discussion.

Please do not post screenshots of log messages - text poster.

The name of each report begins with the name of the process and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report on the process in question. The content of the report is displayed at right. Allows you to copy and paste to validate all of the content, text, not a screenshot.

I know that the report is long, perhaps several hundred lines. Please report all this anyway.

If you don't see any report, but you know, he had an accident, you have chosen diagnostic and using the list of Log Messages. INFORMATION on the USE of DIAGNOSTIC AND choose instead.

In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you change the UUID ' anonymous, ' a long string of letters, numbers and dashes in the header of the report, if it is present (it cannot be). "

Please do not post other types of diagnostic report - they are very long and rarely useful.

When you post the journal excerpt or the accident report, you might see an error message on the web page: "you have included content in your post that is not allowed", or "the message contains invalid characters." It's a bug in the forum software. Thanks for posting the text on Pastebin, then post here a link to the page you created.

  • BlackBerry Z10 Z10 "Please wait while your device is the software update and restart"

Sorry if this question has been asked elsewhere but I searched and could not find an answer the applies to my particular situation.

I have a Z10 on Bell who got an automatic update this morning (I have no note of my operating system version number or the version that I was updating to) and the phone is locked to the prompt "Please wait while your device is the software update and restart."  Update messages said it would take a lot of time and that I should connect my phone if it was less than 20% of battery.

The Bell's Web site indicates that the version of the software is 10.3.2.2168 and the latest version of the OS is 10.3.2.2252.  I don't know how many times this site is updated, but I guess that's the version that I am trying to update?

The phone is not fixed... I can see messages turn on the lock screen and interact with the phone to get a glimpse of these messages, but if I try to unlock the phone, the message block appears above any function, I tried to launch (whether a text message, the camera, an email, etc) and I can't interact with the phone at that time otherwise than to lock again and open the lock screen up.

At the time wherever I drag, the prompt.

The prompt on the phone for about 6 hours now.  The battery was full this morning and had exhausted 70%, but I've since plugged.

I have not tried a batt pull because I'm afraid of the consequences of this action after the launch of the update.

Everyone knows this and had the phoen back? I know that 6 hours is well past any reasonable wait times in my books and was strongly tempted to restart the device... but is there here experts who recommended that I continue to wait?

I forgot to mention that the power button was still working to give the ability to power off the unit.

In the end, I couldn't wait any longer.  I put off the device "no risk" with the power button, rather than using the battery pull method.  I turned on the camera back later and the blackberry logo appeared.  The screen faded faded black and no lights appeared on the phone.

I could hit to swipe down to get the blackberry logo to return to the screen, but no startup loading progress screen never wouldn't come.

I could never get to the home screen, but the phone was actually 'ON' below.  I could call the phone and it should sound, but there is no visual indication that the phone was working and there was no way to respond.  Sliding down to unlock simply revealed the word "blackberry" in the middle of the screen.

I did a Batt pull and this time, the logo appeared as before, but disappeared forever... and then the progress of boot screen appear.

The words 'from 10 Blackberry OS' were visible on the bottom and rotate it beween this and "install updates".

Start-up took a LOT of time (15-20 minutes?) but after that, everything was fine.

Displayed software update version information and it is indeed updated to 10.3.2.2168.

  • HP Pavilion 15-ab150sa: HP Notebook System BIOS update (and processors)

Hi, I bought the HP Pavilion 15-ab150sa last weekend and have had many problems since getting it. Kept freezing and condensation WiFi shortly after logging in.

I found there were 6 updates that need running that are not automatically showing until I scanned for them in HPSA.

Its took me 4 days to get the updates for the most part actually fill and it seems to work a lot better now, however, I have an update for HP Notebook System NIOS update (AND processor) keeps a failure...

    Any ideas?

Please keep it simple, I'm not very good with technical information. :-)

    Greg

    Hi Greg,.

    Try the following.

If the update of the bios still work in HPSA, click the Stop button.

Close HPSA, restart the computer, and then download the update of the Bios from the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp75001-75500/sp75199.exe

Once the download is complete, close other open windows and programs, then open your download folder and double-click the installer to start the process.  The real flash will occur when you restart the machine - do not interrupt it somehow, even if nothing seems to be happening for a while - when it is finished, the machine will load in Windows as usual.

Note:  If the update option arises as being 'blocked on this device', you will need to contact HP in this regard.

    Kind regards

  • Window update causing problems of printer driver

Hi, I have a laptop running XP and router wireless computer (WAG54G) and a set of HP6380 in one. About 2 nights ago an update to Windows Installer by himself and rebooted the laptop (even though I have some turned off automatic updates what they seem to be screwing with anything these updates produce still grr)...

I went to try and print and to found the 6380 was absent from the list of available printers... The problem is not with the wireless network (as it is trendy and functional). I don't know what it does the update of windows... but when I tried to reinstall the drivers for this printer from the disc, he acknowledged that they were already installed... So I uninstalled them instead (and it is taken up only parts of the driver remained and he removed these pieces).

Then I tried to do a fresh driver... install that took a long time because it got stuck at the end... Finally, he came up with an error and so I tried to introduce him, HP - and received click on a desktop icon... (Icon HP - XP Installation). I tried it but it tells me to 1) Reinstall driver (done twice -) solve printing problems wireless (not a problem at this point given that I have no printer driver and I can use the network wireless for other things very well) well tried anyway... or 2

Anyone has any suggestions please > in the past when Windows updates have caused problems, I used the system restore to roll back, but this is only a temporary solution - as Windows insists on the updates I want!

    Thank you very much!

If you have the original HP software CD, look in the folder of the ccc/utils for a L3_unintsall (or similar).  Run for an uninstall very full.

    Reset.

Now, download the latest version of the software for your printer from the "Support & Driver" link at the top of this page.  DO NOT reinstall from the CD (a good rule is in general not the CDs software, but to go to the website of the manufacturer for the latest and best).

  • Print spooler problems and cannot install printer driver after Windows 7 upgrade (80070706)

I just upgraded from Vista to Win 7 Ultimate.  Once installation is complete, I tried to update the drivers and install the latest updates.  Everything worked except for HP LaserJet 4 L driver.  As a first step, whenever the driver tried to install it, the print spooler service may stop working, and the driver installation failed with error code 800F0246.  I then removed everything from the spool directory, rebooted and tried again.  This time, the print spooler service has not prevented from working, but the driver still does not work with error code 80070706.

I can't find the information for this error (80070706) anywhere on the web.  Any help would be appreciated.

More information: the HP LaserJet 4 L printer is connected via a parallel to a prolific USB docking cable.  Windows recognizes the printer as the IEEE-1284 device, but says it needs driver to work.

Update: I was able to manually add the 4L driver using the print server properties dialog box, BUT if I try to add a printer after that, I get "the print processor does not exist.  If I try to add a printer without installing the driver, I get ERROR 0 x 00000002.

Everything is running as an administrator.  It worked perfectly under Vista.

Thanks for these links, but these proposals did not help nor solve the problems.

After a long and painful journey through the registry, I determined that this workstation was already installed 3rd party software, called "Pharos".  Apparently, this software was redirecting the default print processors and was clearly not compatible with Windows 7, although the installation of Win 7 never mentioned a problem of compatibility.  Once this software has been removed, and all the remains erased from the registry, there is now no problems with printers or print spooler.

In the future, it would be useful that Microsoft has actually provided certain types of useful information when these accidents occur.  Cryptic error numbers and unnecessary event log entries did not provide useful clues.

  • Windows update and the eternal Saga Driver

I have Win Vista Home Premium 64 - bit version. I also have a Samsung CLX-3175 Color Laser printer.

Windows Update keeps reporting that an optional update for this printer is available, published on 29/04/2009.

    I made the following...

The driver installed and checked again - Windows Update reports that's always ready to download
The installed driver, restarted my computer and then checked.
Looked at this forum and followed the instructions on renaming the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution - still does not work
Contacted Samsung to see if there is anything that I should know - they passed me back here

    Any suggestions?

    Shayne

    Hi SkeE007,

This problem may occur if you do not install the updates in the correct order. An old update does not install on a new update because newer versions of files are detected on the system. Therefore, the installation of the older update is unsuccessful; However, no NDR is sent to the Automatic Update component. Thus, the automatic update interprets this setup as a successful operation. Because the update has not been installed successfully, you continue to benefit from the update until the server still offers the update.

    Follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Rename the Catroot2 folder

To rename the Catroot2 folder, follow these steps:

    1. click on Start, type cmd in the Search box, right-click cmd.exe , and then click run as administrator.  At the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:

    net stop cryptsvc
    Ren C:\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2
    net start cryptsvc
    output

    {Delete all the following folder tmp*.cat files: C:\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}

Step 2: Reregister DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services

To register .dll files that are associated with Cryptographic Services, follow these steps:
Click Start, type cmd in the Search box, right-click cmd.exe , and then click run as administrator.
At the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:

    regsvr32 /u softpub.dll
    regsvr32 /u wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 /u initpki.dll
    regsvr32 /u dssenh.dll
    regsvr32 /u rsaenh.dll
    regsvr32 /u gpkcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /u sccbase.dll
    regsvr32 /u slbcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /u mssip32.dll
    regsvr32 /u cryptdlg.dll
    output

Note If you are prompted, click OK .

Click Start, type cmd in the Search box, right-click cmd.exe , and then click run as administrator.
At the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:

    regsvr32 softpub.dll
    regsvr32 wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 initpki.dll
    regsvr32 dssenh.dll
    regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
    regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
    regsvr32 sccbase.dll
    regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
    regsvr32 mssip32.dll
    regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
    output

    Restart the computer.

    Step 3: Hide the update

Since the update dates back to April, you can simply right click on the update and select hide update and it will not appear on the list the next time that you use the update service. We have hidden the update because it is very possible that you would have received the latest version of this update that is already installed on the computer.

    I hope that helps!

    Thank you and best regards,

  • The HP software update is still my printer unable to talk to my PC with USB cable or wireless. Nightmare.

I tried to do what I thought, it was a systematic HP software update on my printer, which has been very well. The software appears to install correctly, but then I could not connect wireless or even when I plugged a USB cable at the back. I restarted my computer and my printer several times. I retried the installation several time steps. Two hours later, I'm stuck, and I see no way to get any help from HP. At this point, I think seriously just junking my printer and switch to another brand that has his act together. Can anyone help? Of course can't do HP.

    Hello

Normally, I will not let any product for my machines automatically update. Anyway, my suggestion: using Windows restore to restore the machine back to the point before the update.

    I hope this helps.

Where can I find/get descriptions of all the various software updates offered by the software of the Lenovo system update?

    Thank you, Tom

Run the system update. When it lists your updates click the icon with the sign + inside a box to see more information about what the update the fact, that is what new features or bug fixes to address. As far as I know, when you select 'View details' you see everything that is in the README file for the update. It also includes a summary of what component of ThinkVantage, for example, Presentation Director, 'Presentation Director is a configuration utility to screen for your ThinkPad computer that allows you to create, manage and use the presentation and display plans. • Convering Vista 64 for Vista 32 and a HP printer driver cannot function completely

Does anyone know if it is possible to run Vista 64 as Vista 32? I have a HP Color Laserjet 2840 who don't fax or scan with Vista 64 and HP lacks a driver to make it work.

    Thank you

    N °

    It is not possible.

    You need 64-bit print drivers.

Switch from Vista 64 bit to 32 bit, you can buy a COMPLETE Vista 32 bit operating system and do a clean install.

Either buy a new printer or a new operating system.

    See you soon.

  • Unable to control upgrade: an error occurred when checking for a software update, and the only option is to cancel or retry...

I bought this iPhone 6 + about 4 weeks ago, today, I saw that there was an iOS updated 9.3.3. I was able to update my iPhone to work 5 sec, but not my iPhone6 +. I don't have a phone to jailbreak and current iOS is 9.3.2.  I googled the question and I tried these:

    1. You can try to update your software via iTunes. Your software update may fix this problem.

2 settings > Wi - Fi and turn off Wi - Fi, and then click New.

    3. restart your iOS device.

4 reset network by tapping settings settings > general > reset > reset network settings.

    5. change your DNS settings. To do this, simply tap Settings > Wi - Fi, then tap the blue arrow next to your existing Wi - Fi network. Press the 'DNS' field and enter the DNS servers; 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 (Google Public DNS). After that, try a software update.

I tried these that none worked.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Why were you unable to update the iPhone 6 +? What happens when you try? You receive an error? If Yes, what is the exact text of the error?

  • How do I know what software updates and driver, I need?

    Hi all

For the first time posting here so I hope that I asked this question in the appropriate forum.

I have just bought myself a nice shiny new computer HP laptop Pavilion dv7-3020sa - Windows 7 64 bit.

I've been on the HP software and driver downloads page and I'm confused as to which updates (if any) that I need.

Is it possible to know what are the current versions of the software and drivers, I already have on my laptop, so I don't download and install older versions than those currently installed?

So far, I only did the BIOS update.

    Best regards, Chris.

    Jeff,

Thanks for all your help and information.

I'll keep HP Support Assistant, for now.

I don't know if it's just me, but my laptop does not seem to start more quickly after removing the HP Advisor and Hp Update.

He saved the little hard drive space too.

    Best regards, Chris.
