T400 screen flashes when power is connected or disconnected

Hi guys!

I recently bought a T400. For the moment, it runs on Windows XP, Service Pack 3.

After the installation of Windows XP, I installed all the drivers concerned and no yellow question mark appear in Device Manager Panel. However, during the process of installing these drivers, now whenever I plug into our remove the AC power plug, the screen turns off for about a second and then comes back.

This problem was there immediately after the installation of Windows XP and Service Pack 3, that is before installing the drivers. I think it's a particular driver that may have caused this.

Could someone help me with this? I tried to reinstall the graphics driver.

Your video card moves the refresh rate when you change the energy sources.

See your power manager and video card settings - I bet you on battery, you are ready for 50 Hz and AC, you're ready for 60 Hz.

    Hello

What do you mean with the screen? The LCD internal? Maybe you didn t stop the machine itself.

I also suggest you update your bios and your drivers, maybe it s just a software related issue...

Here´s a link to find the bios and latest drivers for your computer:

  • my screen flashes when I type

A few days ago I had to call technical support. Dreamweaver CS5 kept rewriting the code for my image links right in front of my eyes. The tech guy said that an update to Windows 7 had corrupted my preferences file so we removed that corrects the problem. We have also updated dreamweaver.

Now, my screen flashes while I'm typing.

I have no idea what's happening now - any ideas?

    Thank you!

My Win 7 machine does when you work on a large file and I have the Panel open CSS. If I close the CSS panel, it stops.

  • Photoshop CS6 - screen flashes when you use brushes with new MacAir 2013

The Adobe team would you please answer the questions reported by multiple users:

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/5449199

Several users have some severe in Photoshop CS6 screen flicker when you use type tools more large brush (cloning, Eraser, brush, healing spot, burning and dodging).  As many on this thread know it's ugly and unusable! The glitter is widescreen black boxes, sometimes the entire screen goes black.  It only seems to happen when we put the cursor on the image to change.

Looks like a CS6 is not compatible with the new MacAir. Please look into this and advise.

  • T400s display flashes when the power cord disconnected - how to fix?

Just got my T400s a few days previously and very happy with it!  But one thing that bothers me is when I unplug ac power chords, screen goes white, then back on. The same thing when I plug ac power chord back in.  I posted this question in another forum (NBR) and someone replied that this problem has disappeared after a clean install of the operating system without Thinkpad utils.  So, it has something to do with one of the utils.  BUT I can't find anywhere how to disable this behavior.  Please advice!

Binaryspiral solution worked for me - thanks.

  • Pavilion a1130n block of POWER LED flashes when it is connected to the mobo

We had a power outage and now PC won't start at all and power and power supply lights both blink.  I went through the list of power supply.  When everything is unplugged PSU led remains lit.  When I plug in the mobo light starts flashing again.

On another forum, someone suggested clearing CMOS as check/solution possible, but I've seen suggested once on all of the controls/solutions out there.

Should I try clearing CMOS or who would really do something to help here?

Also, I am trying to determine the most cost-effective path of repair/replacement.  The main consideration for me is software and data on the hard drive, I would really like.  I know that the machine is old so I'm thinking the mobo may need to be upgraded in any case of 6 years and the PSU, should probably due to his age and the likelihood it will fail before too long.

    Any guidance is appreciated.

lardfw wrote: I deleted CMOS (using the pull method) and there is no change. Well, I understand that it was a long shot. I followed the checklist (do not skip steps).  I was a little fuzzy on the checklist is should I go ahead and take memory cards and disconnect the headset, microphone, usb ports, etc to the MoBo? During the only thing connected to the PSU is the MoBo.  Nothing connected to the PSU = green fixed.  Connected to the power supply flashing green = MoBo. So my concern is passed: the hell of the MoBo or PSU is (because I'm buddy up to the idea that it is).  in order to use the hard drive in a new configuration (specifically the software and data on the hard drive).

Hello lardfw, with nothing connected to the motherboard and you try to start the system, if the motherboard was not defective, with the power supply work as it should, you get all kinds of sound signals, especially when the memory is removed.

I'm sure that the motherboard has failed. You should be able to remove the hard drive and install it into another system such as a secondary drive and not the bootable disc and be able to copy some files from the hard drive. You would not be able to access the applications.

Once you have recovered all the data you may be, you could then reformat the hard drive and use the total capacity of the disk as a backup, or even use it as a bootable stick with a new operating system installation.

  • Y50-70 screen flashing when the display of flash content

Hello, I bought a laptop from lenovo y50-70 about a month ago, model 59445062, and I noticed a strange problem when using flash player content on Web sites. When the battery power, playback of flash content is slow and the screen starts flashing like crazy, especially when you start scroling around the page. However, when I plug the charger in all problems disappear and everything is fast and smooth. Student in computer SCIENCE, I have a hinch that it could be related to flash player and driver of integrated graphics, but the test of the integrated on high graphics demanding applications (games) there are no noticeable artifacts or flashing, even on battery screen. I use windows 8.1 x 64, all the updated drivers to update, flash player update. I hope you guys find a solution to this problem.

I am also attaching a video of the problem in action.

  • Internet LAN conection problem when power is connected - Satellite M70

    Hello

I recenetly bought a satellite M70 - 360. For some reason, internet connection (LAN) only works when the computer is running from the battery to the moment where you plug in the AC adapter, it is cut (you can also hear that there is some type of distortion on the line when the power is on)-its impossible to conect to the net, even if you already have AC. Have searched all previous messages and found that another person has reported the same issue, but no one answered at his post... ideas?

Would be very grateful for any advice.
    Mark

    Hello

Very strange. Have you checked the State of LAN card in Device Manager if the captain was connected? A yellow exclamation point appears in the net
Section of the cards to work?
In the properties of LAN card, you will find an Advanced tab. There you can activate and deactivate some additional options. I think you should check the options and possibly allow it.

You said that the internet connection does not work when the power adapter is connected. But what about connecting to the local computer network?

  • K242HL screen flashes when you look at the grey colors

My K242HL monitor is often subject to flicker to a very specific spectrum of gray. This only happens when my laptop is charging. Although minor, it can get a little boring. Help, please.

    fabmaur,

Here are a few other troubleshooting procedures I can think before calling Acer technical support in your region:

    • Try a different video cable to see if that solves it.

    • Connect a different monitor to your laptop using the original cable and see if the same problem occurs.

      • If so, try different video cable as well to see if it continues.

  • BIOS time / date zero when power is connected.

    Hello world

I have a N200 769 - ELG. I installed her updated the winXP SP3 and whenever I plug in or outside the laptop power plug resets the settings of date and time in the BIOS. Same operating system is installed in an old desk and nothing happens. So I'm sure that it is not bound. All the drivers are installed without problem according to a list of sequence, that I found in the forums. So I wonder if someone can provide suggestions.

    Thanks anyway...

You can check your bios battery problem, glancing at the clock in the BIOS, it resets every time that you restart? If what then generally points to the battery being defective, the failure rate of the bios battery is low, but it certainly happens from time to time.

  • HP Probook s 4540 screen flashes plugging / unplugging AC adapter

Why the screen flashes when I disconnect or reconnect the adapter?

"There is no such thing as a foolproof system. Someone will make a fool better tomorrow. »

I think that I found the solution to this problem. Flashing seemed to be linked to a failure to wake up from its sleep according to whether it is connected or disconnected when I put to sleep before. I think it's because of characteristics that switch the Sinc refresh screen 60 Hz to 40 Hz energy saving to save energy. I don't think that the software could stand in the middle of a vigil switch discount rates. t5/Notebook-HP-ProBook-EliteBook/HP-ProBook-4540s-does-not-wake-up-from-sleep-mode/m-p/6167121#.
