T410 with availability of Windows XP Professional?

First of all it seems that you can not buy a downgraded XP directly from Lenovo machine more, as soon as the business portal (this is for commercial use). Can anyone confirm this? Our company has not bought directly before Lenovo. We have always bought from DELL but had some problems with them recently. I suspect that Lenevo delivers machines still XP to some customers.

Secondly, I found many dealers with downgraded XP T410 is available and decided on a T410 (available from independent sellers on shopping.google.com 90) 25148JU. Can anyone confirm that, for this exact model, that the machine comes with XP installed (rather than with Windows 7 and the rights / or CD for XP - pro). I don't want to spend hours having to reinstall XP and all the drivers; I want XP ready to go.

Hi aparker and welcome to the Lenovo user community!

The 2518-4JU supplied with Windows XP installed:

http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/quickPath.do?quickPathEntry=25184JU

Sales of PC with XP was preinstalled officially ended October 22:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/lifecycle

But as you have found, there are a few left in the channel. Rights downgrade XP still exist also for some systems:

And as you point out, some customers have the mojo to get what they want.

I hope this helps!

What you see is the part of your new authentication program that you have installed.  Probably a reader of fingerprints, facial recognition or anything else.  If you (or your administrator) do not install this, then you should remove it from the control panel or run system restore to remove it and then search for threats, because it may have been a malicious addition.

    • Some drivers are available for windows 2000 Professional. It's loaded with windows 2000 pro recovery disks in?

    Thank you.

Hi, I had installed on my x 61 for about a year with zero problems of win2k. the reason why I went finally xp was due to new standards unavaiable on 2 k (wga, video hi-def, sdhc, etc.)

Oh, one thing that does not work: on the card reader sdhc cards. This isn't really a big problem because lack of wga could be...

for the sata issue I can think of two options: integrate or start in compatibility mode, install the drivers and drivers switch to sata.

    Good luck

  • Receive information that all of a sudden my product key valid once for Windows XP Professional is no longer valid.

I bought a computer ZT Club of Sam in 2009 for our church with operating system Windows XP Professional and upgrade disc optional in Windows Vista. Now, I get an error message that my Windows XP Professional software is not valid.  I entered the key to product on the side of the tower to validate online, tried to validate by phone and am unable to do so.  I need help and fast because we were preparing to assign to this computer to our Secretary financial to use next week after having bought a new computer, ZT, who will arrive Friday of next week.  I also bought the 3 years extended warranty with this computer at the time of purchase and it is supposed to be still under warranty.  We are not able to use any software installed and have misplaced the XP disk even though we have the Vista upgrade disc, but our software is not compatible, that is why we never did the upgrade.  We are a small church and cannot afford to buy Windows XP again.

I want to activate windows now, but I came to know that the Windows XP Professional license is no longer available on the market.

Please guide me this license to purchase to activate it?

If the Windows 7 key can activate windows XP Professional?

I don't want to go to Windows XP Mode because we have one standard on our local network for all PC is Windows XP Professional.

    Thank you

    Khawar Pasha

First of all - what you were doing was not a legitimate path in the first place.  The Dell OEM was probably already used on a Dell system at some point.

Second - to activate Windows XP Professional OEM, you need a product key for Windows XP Professional OEM.  No, the Windows 7 licenses will not help you.

Probably your only choice (and is not the best) is to locate someone sell Windows XP Professional on the Internet, find the provider that you can trust most, purchase and use of the CD and the product key you get to install.

    is it compatible?

    Hello

So it is a bussines unit should not be on this Forum, but I checked the spec online and found this:

    Minimum system requirements

Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows Vista®: processor 1.3 GHz, 1 GB of RAM (2 GB for 64 - bit); Windows® XP Home Edition, Windows® XP Professional: processor 1.3 GHz, 512 MB RAM; For all systems: 450 MB of available space on the hard drive, USB 1.1 port or higher, CD-ROM drive, SVGA 1024 x 768, 16-bit color monitor

So that would mean "no sound is not compatible with windows 2000"

  • 'Always available offline' missing - windows 7 Professional - sync enabled

Hello, I have a network drive and am running windows 7 Professional.

When I right click on the file I want to make available offline, the option does not exist.
I also activated the Sync Center. (see image)
    Thoughts?

I know that it is a very old message, but I had the same problem, all active and configured, but no context menu entry appears and I have found no answer on the internet to fix. Finally I have found a solution myself:

First of all, I would like to thank Microsoft for the total absence of advanced documentation (public AND internal, knowing that the technical support engineers may not know what the problem is) on this issue.

-No doubt - there are perhaps other special cases and the potential causes of non-showing the 'always available offline' menu. But here's my case, which was not described until I read a few pages of answers:

I use Windows 7 and some NAS devices as file servers for our small business. We do not have any field, we work as members of the working group. We have therefore every login + password on each workstation and also separate login + password on a NAS device.

As many users, I checked the "remember my credentials" in the login box at the connection to the NAS, for convenience.

BUT THIS IS PREVENTING 'always available offline' TO BE DISPLAYED in THE CONTEXT MENU.

Simply, I went to control panel / user accounts and parental controls / user accounts / manage your credentials (left pane), then selected and deleted the credentials for my NAS server.

From then on, I have the 'always available offline' menu that appears in Solution Explorer :) But I have to type identify with my password once per session to connect to the NAS :(

    Even this link

    https://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc978347.aspx

    does not mention that

I wish someone at Microsoft could make an exhaustive list of possible causes preventing the menu appears, it would be such a relief!

The default resolution and "recommended" for my two monitors lenovo is 1920 x 1080. I have a new system and I tried for a few weeks now to something to work with screen resolution and third-party apps. I am under W7 Pro right now, but will soon be getting to 10.

The high resolution is not a problem in 7 with any Microsoft stuff. With the help of a custom of the DPI setting takes care of all the native stuff. Some third-party applications can be set as well. For example, Corel Photo Paint X 7 has bars of detachable command with command icons that can be set to small, medium or large. When the size of the icon is changed, the size of the font adjusts accordingly and it is perfectly feasible, acknowledging the icons or by reading the text. It is perfect for this dual screen system and works like a charm.

However, most of other software companies are not quite as respectful of their clients. Bryce, formerly owned by Corel, but now DAZ despicable, is not removable toolbars and there is no options available to adjust the sizes of icons in order. Even if preferences to provide an engaging, multiple monitor option not to release the toolbars or increase the font size. It only opens the Bryce "Labs" in the second monitor in a position at the end of the dialog box, half of the Cup.

It also applies even in a top of the range of applications such as VIEW and Smith Micro, Poser Pro. They present menus and toolbar icons that are so tiny, it is necessary to use the Magnifier Microsoft to make and which isn't real solution when your work with graphics programs. It's incredibly awkward.

My old system, running XP Pro, SP3, which I always put in place and operational, has a screen resolution of 1280 X 768, and it displays all the software of third party very well. If I try to use this resolution with W7 and these monitors high resolution, I get a crushed image down and half on the screen which is useless. I can read everything very well, but all images are short and fat! If it was possible to type values for the height and width, using an infinite scale rather than the fixed scale that is provided by the slider over, nicked in W7, it would be possible to find a combination that worked. Then, once the wreck was set for third party stuff, the custom DPI settings Windows could take care of the native stuff.

I had an Oracle VirtualBox running for awhile and loaded the third of things out there and it worked for awhile but it did not offer the ability double screen and, in any case, after awhile it started to get really uptight and I finally just had to get rid of.

Really, I would be much happier if I could just load XP Pro on this machine and do run as quickly as things that made to run on it. The only reason why I got a new system was the need for more speed and muscle. But if I can't use my favorite, applications worth it?

Is there no workaround solution that will make it possible to adjust the resolution so that the third-party applications are fully functional using all the space on the screen?

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read and respond.

Since no one answered I'll provide the solution myself. Doing right thing 'upgrade' to Windows 10 has this problem of resolution.

Other than that, getting W10 to work even at halfway was a nightmare.

  • Lenovo T420 with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit - Windows Genuine validation failure

I have directly from Lenovo Lenovo T420 bought end of 2011 which began recently to show the message that its not running Genuine Windows.  He fails to pass the validation test.  He also stopped treatment of the Windows updates since December 15, 2014.  All fail with the error 800706F7.  I don't know if that is related to the failure of the validation.  I would like to get the Windows validation problem all solved first guess that they may be related.  Is attached a copy of the report full diag.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: called Microsoft validation and validation of phone attempt to id software.  Has been informed by the agent that the product ID has been blocked by Lenovo.  Suggested I upgrade Windows, purchase a new license or call Lenovo.  Release with support from Lenovo and told me that they have no way to block a product code.  Suggested I try an upgrade of BIOS or reload the operating system.  Have you the BIOS upgrade result has not changed.  Also updated the driver Intel Rapid Storage, but again no change on the system.  Read messages where that fixed similar symptoms).  Latest report of diag is the same as that posted here. Operation of the system with the exception of the issue with the message on non-genuine software and updates of Windows does not not error code 800706F7.  Looking for more information.

Update: 2/29/2015 KB3004394 was not as installed on this system.  I ran a system scan and it shows the following missing components. There are several entries in the CBS for the latter.  I have included only the first two entries in the newspaper here.

    2015-02-26 14:44:51, CSI 00000031 [SR] (F) component not found error: Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP-Client, Version 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 = (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral [gle = 0 x 80004005]

Last update: after trying the suggested corrections that have failed, I did a complete system restore.  Too bad the updated Microsoft corrupted the system.  System is operating normally and is more pointed out the error of "Genuine Windows" and updates are being processed. KB3004394 is not installed.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

According to the description of the problem, you can not install Windows updates and get a non-genuine mistake. As you have mentioned that this whole issue started since 15 December, so there might be a chance that some updates to move that could cause the problem.

The KB 3004394 which was dated December 10, 2014 update can cause additional problems on computers that run Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This includes the inability to install future updates. This new update is available to remove KB 3004394 from your computer. Thus, there could be a chance that this update is installed on your computer that is causing the problem.

According to my research and findings that I got to know only after you have installed the Microsoft KB3004394 update that was released on December 10, 2014 and Microsoft has disabled since the relevant updates. Some systems also provided a Windows is "not authentic" error caused by the same update.

So try to remove this update of the updates installed, if it is installed and hide so that it can be installed in the future of its own. You can check the link below to complete the task.

    Remove an update

You can see the below mentioned steps to hide an update.

    1. Click on start.

    2. Now click on all programs.

    3. And then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    4. Now, click on custom.

    5. Click to clear the check box next to the update KB3004394 .

    6. Expand the KB3004394 update you want to hide, and then click the checkbox "don't show me this update again".

    7. Click review and install updates.

For more information please refer to the suggestion of José Antonio answered the February 10, 2012.

How to hide / disable a priority update of Windows KB2633952 that already has an update on my computer?

    Additional information:

You can see the thread mentioned below for details on the error message and the resolution.

Get the error code Windows Update 800706f7

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

  • Windows 7 Professional "Sleep Mode" is not available

    Hello

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Professional with a customized upgrade. But now, there is no choice to sleep in the power settings (it's just gray rather than black). It is also not available in the settings of power either. only, stop and put into hibernation. I have a laptop and find it more convenient to use the "sleep mode" when I close the lid rather than hibernation. How can I fix that it's getting boring now...
    Thanks :)

  • Upgrade my Eee PC with Windows XP to Windows 7 Professional.

I'm trying to upgrade my Eee PC with Windows XP SP3 to Windows 7 Professional. I get an error Code: 0x80070005. Please advise... anyone?

    The upgrade to Windows XP?

Please read these instructions carefully and completely before you begin installing Windows 7: there are important steps that you must follow to upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 in order to preserve your files and settings.

Before you begin, you'll need to backup all your data to an external storage device, and you will need all the installation discs for the programs that you want to keep. Please make sure that you have an external hard drive (see details below).

More detailed instructions are available at windows.microsoft.com/upgrade-windows-xp. Here are the basic steps.

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor (windows.microsoft.com/upgradeadvisor) to see if there are known issues that may affect the installation and the question of whether you should install the version of 32 or 64 bit Windows 7.

2 back up your files and settings on an external hard drive using Windows Easy Transfer (windows.microsoft.com/windows-easy-transfer). If you do not have an external hard drive, you will not be able to use Windows Easy Transfer. Alternatively, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick, CD or DVD.

    3. you will need to manually reinstall your programs, such as Microsoft Office, after I installed Windows 7. Gather the installation for your programs and all partner/license product key discs. You may be able to download programs from the Internet. For example, Windows Live Messenger can be installed from the download.live.com/messenger.

    4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)."

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, use Windows Easy Transfer to restore your files and settings.

If you are not comfortable Windows 7 installation, check with a local retail or the services of the PC company store to see if they offer upgrade services. Releasing it's easy: with Windows | ActiveWin | Laptops | Microsoft MVP
