T42 - reformatting HD and wireless internet

Hi all!

I just be reformatted my hd and now I can't connect wirelessly to the internet.

connect using cable, but works very well.

model or s/n is 2374-wwd

I searched many threads and tried downloading different drivers, but nothing!

in the device, under "network card" Manager, "Intel (r) PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection" is displayed, no yellow? sign.

However, underneath, there is only a single yellow? brand and it's 'network controller '.

I'm not too intuitive with computers, so if you can please throw as much detail as possible, you will greatly appreciate!

Thanks in advance!

Hi 310ibm,

The Intel PRO/1000 card is your ethernet controller (that's why linking them with works by cable). I don't know why it is called "mobile connection". I guess because it's in a laptop :-) More seriously, it's probably a power controller ethernet Intel desktop-optimized version.

In any case... yellow? Note on the wave 'network controller' is most likely your wireless network. Did you install this driver?

I guess that you have pressed Fn + F5 to turn on the wireless radio...

I'm trying to connect my wireless printer while maintaining my wireless internet connection. Is this possible?

    Hello ScottWatt,

Thanks for your post.  Yes, however, there is a specific way to go about it.  Since you have wireless internet, you probably have a wireless router.  In this case, you must change your printer settings to connect to the router. You can find information on how to do this either through your manual, or online from the manufacturer's Web site.

Then you would connect your computer to the Wireless internet connection as well.

From there, both your computer and the printer would be on the same network, just install the printer on a network and you can surf the web and print wireless.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Email and wireless Internet

    Hello

I'm new to the Blackberry. I have a 8220 and I want to configure my email. I have a wireless signal that takes on the phone but when I set up my email, T-Mobile wants me to pay for internet. Can I receive emails and view the Web through my wireless phone?

    Thanks, BG

In BigGuy - without the BlackBerry data Plan, you get a lot of peripheral functions, such as email, RIM-driven, the normal BlackBerry browser, BlackBerry Messenger, etc.

You must have the BB data for this Plan.

You can set your browser to the Hotspot browser (Options > Advanced > browser) and surfing the net and as. You can browser to your webmail from google and work from there... but not in the messages folder, because you do not pay the full of the BlackBerry data Plan that allows that.

You will be limited in function, but you get what you pay for, and some people like you choose to do it this way.

  • Network connection wireless and cable - Internet access that allows on a computer that is connected to the network cable connection to a networked computer

I have 3 desktop PCs. Machine A is Win 7, the B machine is XP, the C machine is XP.

Machine A is connected to the router via cable and internet connection works. Machine B is wireless (the same router as a machine) and the internet connection works when I used that machine has b. Now I plugged in the machine C B machine with a crossover cable and wireless internet machine B does not work.

I tried the IP and gateway addresses manually (since deleted). If I ping the computer A to B I get the answer to time to stop and even if I ping the B to A computer. However ping computer B to C and C to B work.

I hope that I have omitted some important parameter, if anyone can point me in the right direction

    Hello

If the bridge, the connection between C and B is the first to be configured with a static IP address that is on a different subnet * and then fill.

Alternatively, you can use ICS, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126/en-us

    * On the subnet

Classical IP looks like this (example), 192.168. 1 .x the first three groups are also called subnet, they identify specific network, x can be a number between 0 and 255 and it identifies each unique device on the network.

An IP address of 192.168. 2 .x would be a subnet to another network.

To assign a static IP address, see http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/

  • Satellite L735 does not connect to the internet (wired and wireless)

    Hello

I have a brand new L735 satellite, and I'm having a lot of trouble with internet connections.

When I connect to a wireless network it is the profile and connects but still then doesn't say: "no internet access" for two IPv4 qnd IPv6 connectivity status.
I tried troubleshooting, turing off the computer, and wireless network and stil back, but it does not.

The same phenomenon occurs with the workplace wireless, despite other computers that connect to this good (so it does not come from the networks). I also tried to connect to work with an ethernet cable but no luck.

I have the Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless network card and the Atheros AR8152/8158 PCI - E Fast ethernet controller.

I don't know what to do as the laptop is new and so it should not need to updates, all parameters are default, etc.. I'd appreciate some help here!

    Hello

Uninstall or disable the TCP/IPv6 and use only TCP/IPv4 protocol.
Also check whether in the properties of TCP/IPv4, IP address and other parameters are defined to assign automatically

I recommend also check the firewall and some security applications that may be preinstalled on your laptop.
It might be possible that antivirus or firewall block the laptop to connect to internet.

You can try to disable the Windows Firewall:

If you have installed the new Norton protection, I don't think that you need more Windows Firewall.

  • Unable to connect to wireless internet at home and cannot renew IP address

    Here's the question:

I have a few years old Toshiba Satelite laptop with Windows XP SP3. I recently took my office where he has been on the internet via an ethernet cable in the living room where I tried to connect to my wireless internet. It would connect, but says he has "limited connectivity or not." Perfectly fine, I can connect to my neighbor's wireless internet, my wife has the same computer exactly like me and connect to our wireless internet and the neighbour, and there is absolutely no problem with the intensity of the signal. I ran ipconfig and that's what he said:

Ethernet connection to the Local network card:

When I just go to the login information and press 'Fix', it tells me that "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action could not be completed: renewing your IP address."

In addition, I don't know if it's important, but I have DSL service from AT & T with an AT & T 2Wire Gateway. If anyone has any ideas or ideas that could help me, please let me know. Thank you

Well, I don't know what was wrong, but I got it working now. I just uninstalled and reinstalled all software or drivers or something that had nothing to do with wireless internet and it is now everything works fine.

You could try SFC to repair the file.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

    1. start and type cmd in the box start the search.

    2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click on run as

    3. If you are prompted for an administrator password

    or confirmation, type
your password or click on continue

    4. at the command prompt

type the following line and press ENTER:

    Sfc/scannow

When the analysis is complete, a test to see if the question you are

Hi, I have wireless internet in my house and I gave my password system so that others in my home with laptops can use my internet provider.  I want to change my password now.  How can I do that or do I need to contact my provider?

Normally, you must have set a wireless router with a password to the wireless network using the wireless network that you have set up in your home.

If above is the case, read the information that came with your router, or search for it on their website on how to change the settings in it.

  • My laptop Sony VAIO with Vista will not connect and stay connected to my wireless internet.

My laptop Sony VAIO with Vista will not connect and stay connected to my wireless internet.  All other laptops in the House are perfectly.  Internet disconnects, says local only, then reconnects constantly making internet hard work.

    Hi Tinkerbellfancolorado,

    1. When is this last work fine?
    2. Do you receive an error message or error codes?
    3. Recent changes on the computer?

There could be several causes for this problem.

    Try starting with these methods.

    Method 1

    Step 1

    1. Open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, and then click diagnose and repair.
    2. Make sure that all cables are connected (for example, make sure that your modem is connected to a working jack or cable phone connection, either directly or through a router).
    3. Reset your modem and router. Remove the power cord from the modem or router, wait at least 10 seconds, then plug in the modem and/or router back.

    Step 2

Another reason may be windows disable your network adapter to save power. Turn off the power saving option in the properties of the network (wired network only cards) card:

    1. Open network connections by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking network and Internet, click network and sharing Center, and then clicking manage network connections.
    2. Right-click on the connection and then click Properties. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. On the Networking tab, click Configure.
    4. On the power management tab, clear the allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option, and then click OK.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-Internet-connection-problems

    Method 2

Temporarily disable the firewall, and check the status.

NOTE: To re-enable the firewall after check you the status. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your /firewall antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Hope that was heloful.
