T420s dock - two monitors?

looking to make two monitors (laptop lcd not included) with my t420s and I was wondering if the dock will give me the opportunity to do? Thank you!

Hi, kaitanium

I browsed the Lenovo site and found these docking stations compatible with your system. The Mini Dock and the Mini Dock plus allows both two video ports to be used at the same time to create separate exhibitions. The Mini Dock plus has the ability to show three screens if the hardware in the computer complies with the plug. So yes, two separate screens is possible with the correct dock.

Best,

Adam

Is it possible to run two monitors on a 8570w without a docking station. Connect a monitor to the VGA port and the other to display port.

I was able to get this to work. My 8570w has an Amd over-pants 7700, don't know if that matters. One is connected VGA other Displayport. The port monitor must have a custom resolution defined in the over-pants Control Panel. except that it works perfectly. More laptop screen no. Docking Station 2 24 inch Dell.

  • USB 3.0 docking station pro with two monitors

I have an E550 connected to a dock, Pro USB 3.0. To get two monitors working, I got a VGA plugged into the laptop to a monitor and a SVGA from the platform to the other. I want then to the main display on the second.

But I can drive both monitors of the dock? It is not clear in the manual if this can be done. I suppose that if I hang a HDMI VGA adapter to the dock, I can then drive the first monitor from the dock too?

I can confirm that it works.

A DP/DVI for dock first monitor and a DVI/DVI for the dock to the second monitor gives an extended through the two display.

It drives me crazy.  I have a work Dell laptop connected to a station host and two double monitors. It works very well at the office that I work mainly on two large dual screens.  When I remove the laptop from the docking station and bring home the computer starts and displays a portion of my homescreen (like an extended display).  But I can't do anything else with it. I can't access my files or anything.

What I want to do now that I'm home with my laptop is to redo the settings so that the laptop is my main screen.  The normal methods of right click and change the screen resolution do not work because I can't access my Windows start tab.  Any ideas...

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to determine the root cause of the problem.

    1. What is the number and model of your computer and the graphics card?

    2. Have you tried to monitor primary as secondary and vice versa?

    3. All device drivers are updated?

Windows can detect automatically that an additional screen. If you connect two or more monitors, you must manually designate the primary display, arrange your desktop, and apply display settings, such as color depth and screen resolution. So, the next time that you connect these monitors, Windows automatically identifies the primary display and applies the settings that you previously specified for each additional display.

  • Two monitors with x 200 and docking station

    Hello

Is it possible to use two monitors with my x 200? I use a docking station that has 1 VGA out. When I plug a second monitor into the VGA output on the laptop, the screen adjusts a car but remains empty.

    Any help appreciated

    Concerning

    Andrew.

There is also a displayport on the ban, so you can use a dvi DisplayPort converter / for the second monitor.

  • Grateful two monitors on a docking station

For some reason windows is not recognizing my two monitors I have connected to my HP NZ223AA 230W Advanced Docking Station.

I use Windows7 64 bit on an HP EliteBook 8560w with an AMD over-pants m5950 graphic card.  As near as I can tell the docking station allows the two DVI ports to use as well as the grahpics card is good for multiple monitors.

Does anyone know if it is possible to connect a third monitor?  In other words, I have my laptop connected to a station host and then two other monitors for a total of three.

    Thank you

Cannot be done. The graphics card is soldered to the motherboard.

  • Use two monitors on Mac Mini end of 2012

    Hello

I am currently using only a single monitor (A Dell S2340M 23 "") with my Mac Mini end of 2012 (with these ports: Mac mini (end of 2012): external ports and connectors - Apple Support), and I am interested in adding a second monitor, something around the same size as my current. How to connect two monitors on my Mac? Thanks in advance.

The support for the Mac Mini shows article (end of 2012) and details which ports can do.

So you would probably need to get an adapter Thunderbolt using a second screen, seems.

See the items listed to connect to the Thunderbolt port in the link you posted. I have the same

link to my favorites for more than a year...

I have an i7 Mac Mini end of 2012, using only a screen Apple Cinema (aluminium).

Another option would also buy a bolt of lightning multiple port dock. Some allow others

products and ports in double. (Upward to 12 points, USB3.0, Thundebolt, etc) not cheap. A

A few screens can allow a Garland; Note looks like a bolt of lightning MiniDisplay port but can

not act like one. Adapters can allow minidisplay run Thunderbolt. See supported

Article and then see the page of the Apple store in graphics cards.

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/Thunderbolt/

OWC has also an external optical drive with several ports integrated (with additional HARD disk).

    Good luck!

Tablet seems to connect with the monitor, but the screen goes black.

Connecting the dock the tablet to a TV via HDMI to HDMI works ok.

Anyone knows a solution or having this problem? What is a defective dock?

I have now successfully connected 10 Thinkpad via HDMI dock port to the DVI connector on two monitors of model later. These are: a new U2413 from Dell and a former model BenQ FP241W.

The conclusion is that the HDMI dock may work with some monitors but not others, maybe more, models like the Dell 2007FP. The connection has failed also on a Samsung still more old 204 b.

    My current setup:

    • EVGA UV Plus + 39 vga box to allow setting up dual monitor

I have the following problem, I don't know if they are related:

    First question:

    • When I close the lid on my laptop, it stops. I expect it would display Desktop on my two monitors.

    Second question:

If I'm away from my computer, my screen become white.

    • I tried pressing the keys on my keyboard to wake up my system [does not]
    • I tried to open the lid: computer laptop screen is blank
    • So I have to shut down my computer, open the cover of the screen, and then close the lid and they press the button on my docking station to display Desktop to my two monitors?

Do you know what causes this problem?

    1. disable stop option for "lid closed" settings within the app Lenovo Power Manager (Group of event parameters).
2 could you be more clear. Please? Your laptop is going to sleep several minutes later (5? 15? same?) we let him? And you can not wake him normally?

  • Latitude E7450 processor and controller, E - 2, unstable configuration port of the U2715H - two monitors-

I have two monitors U2715H connected via a CDM-> DP cable each to a docking station E-Port Plus (in fact an Advanced Port Replicator EURO2) in which sits a laptop Latitude E7450 processor and controller. All items are brand new. E7450 processor and controller is equipped with 16 GB of RAM and two graphics cards: Intel HD 5500 Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce 840 M; selection is automatic, which usually means that the 5500 is running. It runs Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 (64-bit). The docking station has apparently DP 1.2 a capacity (for chaining) but DP 1.2 is disabled in both monitors.

I have correctly configured the system to have Windows desktop space both monitors at 2560 x 1440 resolution, even with screen internal latitude as a third request for an extension to its full resolution (1920 x 1080). The main screen can be set to one of the two (or three) and I can successfully move the sequence of monitors around (left, middle, right).

There is therefore no doubt about the ability of the system to support the planned configuration. However, when I dock the Latitude (most with the lid closed) and start, most of the time he is unable to restore the configuration of the two external monitors. Some of the symptoms are: one or two monitors go black, indicating the cable connected but no signal from the docking station. If there is a picture on one of the monitors at startup, it may or may not contain the login screen. (I can still log in because I know which keystrokes to send.) If the login screen is visible, it is usually in low resolution. If I have several active screens, but one is black, I can move the mouse pointer (or an entire window) on the screen black (in the middle or on the side), but it is not visible here.

Both monitors come right out of the box and the only change I made is to move from the DP to the mDP as input channel. I reinstalled the cables and exchanged the cables between the two DPs on the docking station. I turned the market monitors. I ran the self-test the requirements on both monitors. The connection of the laptop on the docking station is a little wobbly, but I use the spacer provided for the E7450 processor and controller and making sure the connection is correct and stable. I've updated all the drivers and BIOS of processors E7450 and controller. I recently saw a reference to a BIOS for the docking station; I didn't know it existed, but I'm not.

The installation instructions provided with the monitors were a note on consulting the CD provided for the use of the screen to maximum resolution. E7450 processor and controller is not an optical drive, but I read all of the documentation for the monitor to Support technical without finding what whatsoever to shed light on the situation (in addition to ensure that the graphics card and drivers are up to the task).

Once I connected, I can manage to make it all in order by randomly (?) lower the resolution of the screen, change the position of the main screen (left-center-right), deselection reselection CDM as entry way and forcing other changes. Once the two or all three screens in operation, I can put them all to maximum resolution and beginning of work. However, it is rather annoying and I would like to have a stable configuration.

The configuration seems to survive power cycling of the laptop / station but not if I also disconnect the laptop. I should mention that when I detach the E7450 processor and controller, I can use it in other configurations, with or without other external monitors through other ports, before turning it off and later re - anchor as described. However, for the first month I had two old non-moniteurs Dell of any resolution (on DVI and VGA ports) connected to the docking station and the configuration is stable, and for years I used for my older Latitude with a docking station that is older, remembering his device between different hardware configurations.

Please, someone - and Dell support staff in particular?

  • Slow refresh rate using a D3100 connect two monitors U2311H

    Hello

I have a macbook pro 2016 and bought the Dell D3100 triple display USB adapter to use with it. The two monitors are connected to DVI using adapters connected to the displayport and hdmi ports. I installed the latest drivers from displaylink for El Capitan on the computer and plugged the dock on USB 3.0. The two monitors work. However, they all seem to have some considerable delay. Testufo indicates that they are both running at 60 Hz (as well as the display settings), but movement seems choppy and fuzzy, akin to 30 hz, but maybe a little better.

I read that it would be able to run monitors 1080 at 60 Hz with little trouble. Is there something I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

We didn't test the D3100 on Apple hardware or software is a big unknown.

The slow refresh rate tells us that they're not really running at 60 Hz.

The U2311H has the following ports video =.
    DP 1920 x 1080 60 Hz
    DVI 1920 x 1080 60 Hz
    VGA 1920 x 1080 60 Hz

The D3100's video next ports =.
    Display Port 1.1 = 3840 x 2160 30 Hz, 1920 x 1080 60 Hz
    HDMI 1.4 = 2560 x 1440-50 Hz

So the U2311H using DP 1. 1 a/DVI should be 60 Hz. The other at 50 Hz. But how the Apple operating system is to see these is unknown. You must post on the Apple Forum of Discussions and see if they can offer an overview or troubleshooting steps.

  • Two monitors - keep extended mode when the lid of the laptop

original title: two monitors, in "extended" mode - computer cover laptop shutdown problem

I want to be able to close the lid of my laptop, and do NOT have any video single monitor mode.
I want to work as if I was turning in a configuration of monitor monitors two off. Nothing moves, nothing recalibrates, and she's not back on a laptop with a single connected monitor.

    Any ideas?

What is it in a Dock or simply extended with the video output? If it's just expert panel, you can change the behavior of the 'status quo' power management when you close the lid.

If it comes in a Dock, it is as expected since it will divert the attention of any screen is available when the lid is closed.

  • CP3: Anyone who uses two monitors?

My laptop is connected to a docking station that has two connected displays. I can open and edit Captivate files, but when I try to record using a monitor, Captivate minimizes and appears in the status bar, but never presents a registration window. When I click on the Captivate 3 on the taskbar, a message advising that my record ends. When I look at the captured file, it is only in black, as if she recorded the inactive edge laptop screen or a ghost, third LCD.

There is no problem with other applications tested, including the registration of apps like Camtasia 5, but of course I have to finish a project in Captivate.

I used everything before, the only thing that is new is the configuration of two monitors, which I am disabling for now.

Did some additional checking and found this site recommended for other problems in the system: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402464&sliceId=1

Rename the captivate_v30.dat and the opening of Captivate solved the problem... until I decided to swap the roles of the primary and secondary monitors. Rename a second time it sets for the current configuration of the monitor.
