T430 keyboard failure

Hello world.

I am having a serious problem with my recently acquired - particularly with his keyboard T430:

-It seems that the circuits of keyboards / electrical contacts are not very well insulated or poorly designed (at least this is my explanation of the problem) - so that pressing or in my case, a few specific keys triggers several other keys! Is affected mainly the upper part of the keyboard (Tab/F/number/Hotkey - lines).

-Now - I had this problem after a month using the laptop - I called support and replaced the keyboard (great service) but now - as another month later - it seems that the exact same failure happens again!

I don't think, that I use and treat my laptop the wrong way... on the contrary I'm almost too careful manipulation.

Then

-Is anyone else have / had the same problem?

-Do you think that the problem might even be a malfunction of the software and not based on hardware?

-What I - what I - what would you do?

An input and support is appreciated!

Greetings

GE

Good afternoon Guenst,.

If you have replaced the keyboard and you still experience a problem, you can send your system for repair to the deposit.

Usually, when still a problem like yours, the issue that seems to have the system doesn't have an obvious solution.

I recommend to call the help line and put them in place to send in your system for repair.

The repair may be better able to identify and solve your problem of keyboard.

    Hello

Looks like a keyboard failure, but have you checked if the external keyboard would work properly? To do this

    However, it looks like a problem of keyboard and for such a problem, there is only a solution;
You will need a new keyboard and the need to replace the old

The compatible keyboard could be ordered from a local service partner otherwise you can check out offers on the internet

  • Satellite L350D-PSLE4E - keyboard failure

    Hello

Keyboard of my laptop Satellite L350D-PSLE4E has recently stopped working properly (a few weeks after that 12 months extended warranty!). The keys are not totally insensitive, occasionally press key is recognized as such to the screen, but very much when there is zero critical functions.

Also the mouse pad has a failure, the movement of mouse pad is fine, but when you hover over an icon and press the key to access the icon or tap twice nothing happens. I restore access to tap on the mouse pad at some point, but he still lost.

Another thing I noticed, when I accessed to the internet as soon as the prompt is displayed, the number '6' appears time and again in the sweet spot. This seems to happen as it seems on every new page with a command prompt type top.

Another thing I noticed is that the sound is destorted too.

I ran search viruses without any result, checked the drivers are running and up to date so that I have the latest version of the BIOS on my system.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Related question sounds more like keyboard as a software failure. To my eyes, the keyboard material must be checked but I think you need to replace it.

You can use double click of the buttons on the touchpad instead strike the surface of the touchpad?
What happens if you set the tab double again in Control Panel-> mouse-> device settings?
Check if updating driver of the touchpad or new facility could help you.

But overall, I would recommend to recover the laptop and test once more.
In many cases damaged BONES can cause many problems then it of certainly worth a try

  • T430S keyboard keeps 'jump' when entering?

I have a T430s and I like it so far, except a negative thing is that it keeps 'jump' around each time I type. During typing, at random times that he'll jump whenever the cursor is placed at the time, often in the middle of a word I had already typed previously. (He did 4 times while typing this message) Obviously, this makes very annoying to have to repeat a word or phrase over and over again. I certainly don't type very fast and try to be careful with my hand placement, but like a normal adult male size, is possible that the new keyboard Chiclet makes it easier to my fingers or palm to inadvertently move or tap on the touchpad that is causing this problem? Or is it a software defect?

It's my second Thinkpad and I've never had this problem before. Please advise! Thank you.

Specifications: Lenovo T430s, Windows 7 family

Check under the touchpad properties, look at Smart Settings/Palm CONTROL

  • Keyboard failure

HP dm4 2033cl laptop. Bought at Costco, two years ago. Most or all the keys typed the wrong letter. Some, including the return key back do nothing. This condition just appear overnight. The computer has been left. I rebooted several times.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand keyboards, right click "Standard PS/2 keyboard and select uninstall."

Once completed, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Tap away at the button esc you start the laptop to see if it will launch the Start Menu and select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys (assuming that they work in this menu) to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

    Kind regards

  • Satelite C875-1FZ - keys on a keyboard failure

    Hello

When I start my Toshiba Satellite C875 1FZ some keys do not work. Usually what I do I open Notepad and press the keys not functional and after awhile, they slowly begin to work again.
I need to continue to use the keys then otherwise these keys "freeze" again.

The keys that bring the question are:

    A, b, n, paved digital 7, left s - hift, ctrl, let

Just as now, the keys are working without any problems. Should I stop using them they will seize again.

I already tried the following things:

-Remove the battery and press the power button for 60 seconds and try again but didn t work
-Remove the drivers for keyboard and rebooted but also didn t work.

Would be a great disappointment if I need to return my laptop for maintenance, so I hope you all can help me.

    Kind regards
    Wesley

I'm quite sure that the key problem is related to the breakdown of keyboard m.
Just to be 100% sure, plug an external USB keyboard and test functionality.
In case the external keyboard should work correctly, the problem is that the internal keyboard and this would need to be replaced.

In case the external keyboard wouldn't work correctly, the controller of the keyboard (part of the motherboard) would be the troublemaker, but I guess that it s not.

  • On the Satellite 3000 keyboard failure

    Hello.

Since last night the keyboard did not work, I tried to help him solve the problem, but we are now at a loss, the message: "Cannot find \\.\DRI_KBfiltr" has popped up and I was not able to find this file, although there is a KBFILTR in the windows\system32\drivers folder.

As far whether aware did nothing to cause this and I can't work on how to solve this problem so any help is appreciated! She currently runs a full scan just in case, but we're stuck.

  • Satellite A300 - partial keyboard failure

I have a very unusual problem. some keys on my keyb have stopped working.
    from top to bottom, these:
    [0] [']
    [p] [e]
    [o]
    [-]
    [space]

my laptop is a Satellite A300
    the bios is updated.

Is it possible that this is not a hardware problem?

    Thanks for the help.

I think that its hardware problem.
To confirm this, connect an external USB keyboard and test functionality.
If it's working properly, your internal keyboard is the troublemaker.

  • M60-164: keyboard failure?

I've only had the M60-164 yesterday, but the keyboard is incredibly unresponsive. When you type, missing letters, ones that I definitely struck. Its been driving me up the wall typing passwords in 3 or 4 times because it removes a different letter each time. I have been typing with one finger, hitting the keys hard enough yet he still fell letters.

Is this a physical problem with the material or is it possibly a driver issue? I really want to have to resume already.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Steve,.

There are two possibilities here: -.

    1. your keyboard is faulty in this case, you must return the laptop for repair or replacement.

    or

    2. your operating system has an ongoing background activity that is depleting your CPU availability insofar as the keyboard driver is being starced of sufficient resources.

Given that you got just the laptop I think that it would be better to return it under warranty rather than trying to diagnose the problem, although yuou may want to check in Manager tasks to see if there is any abnormal in activity.

    Kind regards
