  Hello.

  I recently bought a Satellite U200-115 and have a quick question. I was typing earlier today and I accidentally eliminated one of the keys to its position. I then spent the last 3 hours trying to attach it to the laptop.

  I was just wondering if the mechanism of how the keys are placed on the base of the keyboard has a special technique to be applied on the keyboard?

  The key is divided into three parts, and it looks like not to I broke one of these parts but im having rear attatching boredom. I would be grateful for any help you are able to provide.

  AFAIK there is no special technique. You simply press plastic key. It will click and the key will be placed as before.

• Satellite U200: FN + F8 WLanHotkey does not work after the re - install

  On my Satellite U200, I had to reinstall and I installed correctly the shortcut utility wireless keyboard from the CD of tools and the site of drivers, but the key does nothing.

  I installed hotkey utilities and they are OK.
  The installer for it said it works and wireless and bluetooth devices work properly, but the fn + f8 does nothing.

  I seem to have a defective F on my Satellite Pro A100 keyboard key. Some liquid has been spilled on it and it seems that it is the only affected key.

  As far as I know, this unit has certainly no overflow keyboard and this option have laptops in the series of cases like Portege (well newer models).

  It seems that you need to replace the keyboard. Please be careful because if later the unit includes damage and service partner can see the device is open, they can refuse to do anything. Keyboard replacement arrived within 15 minutes and can is not expensive. I recommend you make it by the service partner.

  The RAM slots are placed under the keyboard. You must remove the keyboard (between the keyboard and the LCD) support, remove the screws that attach the keyboard and then remove the keyboard.

  I am new to this so forgive me if the question was already asked. I just bought a Satellite U200-170, it was the last in the store and I don't didn't want to wait 2 weeks to get the laptop so I bought the showroom model (which is in perfect condition). I did format the laptop because the store made 2 partitions Eaglets, I didn't. So when I was formatting the pc I have inserted the cd recovery (part 1/2) and the pc boots with all the necessary drives and utilities.

  Subsequently I have insert (part 2/2) recovery cd but nothing happened so I thought that all utilities and drives has been on the first cd. Now the problem is that I have a few problems when I want to stop the laptop. The types of crashes screen when windows stops so I have to manually shut down the laptop by pressing the key. How to solve this problem.

  Please check your recovery CD to see if they are labeled as the 1/2 and 2/2 Recovery CD. You must also have a CD "tools and utilities" that contains various Toshiba Utilities and extras.

  If you do not have 2 Recovery CD then the complete installation process should ask you to change the first CD while the ANDS process loading install, after which the installation continues to load the second CD.

  I bought new Toshiba satellite U200. I don't use "product recovery cd" because there were PL version of windows. I have installed IN windows XP Home Edition and I downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba site.

  The Image of Toshiba preinstalled contains an option to create a CD of Driver & own tools.
  You must first create this CD. So if you want you can install the operating system new, fresh clean and after this procedure, you can use the drivers from Toshiba on this CD.
