T430 - Terrible nvidia performance

I just got a 17 core, 8 GB T430 works Wind 7 Pro 4000 HD Intel and nvidia NVS 5400 M. There seems to be a number of problems with the nvidia card.

  1. I can't get anything to use nvidia unless I force it in the BIOS.
  2. When I force it, performance is about 1/10th of the Intel card. The 'Saurebraten' game falls to 200 FPS in ~ 20 fps.
  3. "Run with GPU" is always greyed out.
  4. When I add 'Sauerbraten' in the control panel nvidia and say he must use NVIDIA, the game always reports that it uses Intel.

I tried similar tests with Kubuntu 13.10 using Bumblee and the behavior is the same.

So in summary: I can't use Optimus and when it's running nvidia the performance is terrible. All tests was performed using the computer screen laptop while that connected to the power supply.

Can someone guide me for diagnosis/difficulty? I was full support of Lenovo and can't seem to find any information.

Found the problem. The laptop came with me to have some very strange power settings. 'Seat of the aircraft' had been established and this severely limited the nvidia card. Once I disabled that, things were good.

How this impact also Kubuntu, I'm not sure. I'm just happy that the situation is now resolved.

  • On 15-e072sa terrible wireless performance

    Hello

My girlfriend recently bought a computer laptop 15-e072sa and it would not correctly work with our VMDG480 router more than 3 meters from the hotel. The problem is out of the box. Specifically, the router seems to be connected but internet does not work. So far, I have tried

    -disable anti-virus software

-try different browsers (Chrome and IE)

-Remove and reinstall the wireless drivers

-affecting only g and b only wireless card

-downgraded to windows 7 to see if the operating system was at fault

-restore the router to factory settings and recreate the network with a new ssid

-reinstalled windows 8 and used live the latest realtek drivers

-changed the channel on the Router 1 to 6 to 11 and followed with inSSIDer. Whenever the wireless signal was about-80 to-60 dBm. When I walked into the next room the signal remained around the same (or even increased), however, internet no longer works and ping the router shows the time of 2000ms

When channel 11, no other network appear on the same channel in the room the further. The link score (overall performance based on the intensity of the signal and interference from other networks) on inSSIDer is 100 - highest, it was.

None of the above worked. I am at my wits end here and we cannot return the laptop as it has been used. It's brand new and effectively useless because it can be used only in one piece.

Anyone have any suggestions for additional drivers or wireless settings I should try?

    Everyone knows about this problem?

I can't try a differernt currently router as it must have a built-in cable modem. However, the wireless signal is picked up from the well and the internet works perfectly on other devices in the House - a HPG61 with an Atheros AR9285, a Samsung Galaxy and a HTC Desire.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Chris

Right. I didn't need the recovery disc, but I ordered them anyway. They agreed to talk to me on the phone and we worked on the air is not properly connected to the wireless card. You can check this by unscrewing and lifting the Panel of service on the underside of the laptop.

  • Animate terrible edge performance...

All drawing a rectangle is real lag. It shows using 75 MB of RAM in the Task Manager. Also playback is jerky but plays well in the browser. I've recently updated to version 2014.0, and before the update, it ran like a champ. Any ideas? The program is now essentially USELESS!. Photoshop and Illustrator run without any problem. I rebooted, I am running the latest graphics drivers, so there is no reason the performance super slow. Even clicking on the icons on the toolbar of shifts! Can I go back to the previous version?

    UPDATE:

I uninstalled edge animate, removing preferences, re-installed, same problem persists.

Hi penserv, sorry your overlooking the edge experience animate. I'm assuming you areon Windows since you mentioned the Task Manager. We have a problem of performance known in edge animate and I would suggest the below the solution for this.

    Workaround solution:

    (a) go to control panel/color management.

    (b) click on Advanced tab and check if the device profile is nothing other than the system default.

    (c) if it is set to something else than default system, we found the performance of Animate being poor.

    (d) the reset system by default unless there is a reason says that you need a different color profile. This will fix the issue of performance known with Animate.

Note: Study us this and planning on a fix in a future version, so that you must not modify the default color profile.

Let me know if this helped.

  • Audition with multiple monitors and nVidia - crashing / flicker

When using mulitple monitors hearing signal several times at the start, take longer to start and often crashes.  When you use a single monitor, hearing throw very well.  We run Windows 7 Pro on to Lenovo T430 with nVidia NVS 5400 M card.  I have also some Lenovo x 230 who have Intel Graphics.  When you use multiple monitors with Intel graphics card, it works fine.

E-mail log files (na not see an option on attach firmly to this topic).  It seems that the main difference is not only with multiple monitors, but rather with nVidia graphics.  Multiple monitors on a laptop computer Intel Graphics ONLY works great... no problems.  Multiple monitors on a computer of graphics from nVidia has problems.  However, when the didn't use a monitor on nVidia computer, it works fine.

  • Pavilion HPE h8 - 1380t: video card upgrade for Pavilion HPE h8 - 1380t

    Hi all

I recently bought a map GTX1060 (from a MSI GeForce GT640) 4 year old GPU from nVidia in line in order to improve the capacity of my machine so that I would be able to play Fallout 4 and 3 Witcher (both put my poor old GT640 kneeling - even on lower resolution settings).  It is part of the case and the powers that be (Yes, I plug in the connector 6-pin PSU) and 600W POWER supply is adequate for the task, but I'm starting to think that I probably have a motherboard compatibility issue.

When I install the card and turn on the PC, it hangs at the splash screen of installation (a common problem from what I've already read on these forums) and that it goes no further (keyboard and mouse do not respond at this time here).  I contacted the nVidia support, and they suggested some changes to the BIOS (disable Secure Boot, activate the Legacy/MSC Mode and switching between legacy and UEFI BIOS selection Mode), but when I access the HP configuration utility (F10 on boot to top with GT640 card installed), these options are not put at my disposal.

Is it possible for me to access the BIOS settings that nVidia has indicated I should be adjusted?

This GPU card simply is not at all compatible with my motherboard?

    System Specs:

    HP model number: B4J28AV #ABA (Pavilion HPE h8 - 1380t)

    Motherboard: Pegatron 2ACE(Socket 0); 1.08; Intel Sandy Bridge-E Rev. 07; Intel Southbridge X 79 Rev 05

    BIOS: FRIEND 7.15

    CPU: Intel Core i7 3930 K (3.2 GHz)

    OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, SP1

Current GPU: MSI GeForce GT640; Driver 10.18.13.6881

If the GTX1060 is not compatible, which is the highest card GPU nVidia performance that can be used with this motherboard (given the limitation of power supply 600W)?

Is there another motherboard for this machine which would be compatible with my existing CPU and the GTX1060?

    Thanks for your help...

    Hello

    The h8 1380t has a Pegatron motherboard 'Pittsburgh '.

You could try to find a future revision of this motherboard. I'm also a 810-150se with a map of the 'Pittsburgh2' system that has UEFI. I use a card Nvidia GTX EVGA FTW 970 with excellent results.

You will need to check that the Review Board would fit in your frame.

    The other options are:

1.new want to expedition with Win 7 Pro, or

    2 falcon Northwest.

In a map of the main current system the permutation of Asus, Gigabyte or Asrock is difficult at best. You have to change other components such as the processor, heat sink, fan and the memory. You can probably buy an OEM of Windows 7 Pro version.

It becomes quite expensive when you do the math on all of the changes you will have to do. There is no guarantee that you can find a map of the main current system having the correct spacers for your chassis h8 - 1380t.

Avoid a Skylake processor if you can unless you don't mind jumping through a few extra hoops to install Win 7.

Please consult this article and go here for the workaround resolved the problem installing win 7.

  • Audio and video Y570 randomly freezes for a short period of time

    Hello

I recently bought my Y570. While I was playing a video game (League of Legends), the video froze, and my sound is distorted for only a second or two, he jittered. I thought it was nothing to worry about.
Then when I was watching a youtube video the same problem occurred, video froze for a second sound jittered again. It also happened when I installed Java jre on my laptop, you had to install the 3 files and during each installation status bar is empty first, it froze and its got distorted (I was listening to music while I was installing) and then installation would actually begin. It can be described as late any. This problem happened to someone else and is there a solution? Graphics NVIDIA performed during the video game and the video on youtube, but I do not remember about installation.

I can't believe that this has happened. The bbm upgrade 8 is ruining my phone.

I have improved my bbm from 7 to 8, 3 days ago. After that, I meet terrible hardware performance:

    1. my unit is hot all the time! looks like an overload of software? but I installed only fery some applications because I use my galaxy tab for main activity.

    2. battery level lowered to zero even when I do a full power 'off '. I used to switch off my phone whenever I fall asleep. And these 3 days, I woke up to a dead phone.

My question is, private IP need to be on different dedicated switch?

Have to be? N ° can be on the same switch, they must be on different subnets.

Should be on different switches? Definitely YES! You can have a lot of Cache Global transfers and other communications on the private network. Oracle recommends that the private network which... private... which means it will not be shared by the rest of the network traffic.

Many people who try to use the same network switch often live to regret their terrible cluster performance.

Hello world!  I create my 2nd flash interface.  Displays the chart below:

When someone clicks on a phase of the cycle, with bland graphics out and a new window will appear.

I know how to do that in flash.  What I don't know is how best to organize the text in the pop-up window.  Specifically, when someone clicks the sign more (look closely in the 2nd image to see an example of an extended section), I want the space below the text to expand, showing more text or image.  When the user is finished, they click the 'X' to close the enlarged section.

It is a format of menu tree.  However, instead of simply to develop a little phrase, it spread to show images or an entire paragraph.

    2. I make my window flash player big enough to fit all the elements, in which case the user extends to all sections and wants to see it all enjoy a view? Or is there a way to dynamically increase the vertical size of the flash drive to accommodate the expanded text?  I like how HTML allows you to dynamically extend the height of vertical cell, as more text is added.

My due date is September 24.  If I can't have the ability to develop / hide sections, I'll show just the window with everything already extended... or I'll just post it in a separate window within the player.

Yes these are basic effects supported by jQuery. Here is a sample API with these effects and demos page. Just click on an effect and scroll down on the page and it will demonstrate the effect.

Here's a random example of a batch of expand/retract that I made earlier. In the content area, you can see chart and keys to enlarge / reduce. If you change the model to iVentrilo, you will see a bunch of additional specific controls model drag down. These sub controls have more enlarge / reduce jQuery on them as the change of details on "Customize." Those under the options that you choose to hide the collapse, etc etc. Just an example of nested expand collapse, although not terribly optimized performance, it was a fast job...

With the CSS absolute positioning and z-index, you can put graphics on other charts, use JS/jQuery to animate the movement, visibility and other properties of any object and easily do what you want (even spinning wheels).

  • T430 NVidia GPU are not not in Device Manager

Hello - I have a problem with the NVidia NVS 5400 M inside the T430 Thinkpad. I use Windows 8. I don't know exactly how it happened, but the NVidia card isn't more appears in the Device Manager and NVidia driver (both the standard driver from their site AND Optimus of Lenovo Web driver) refuses to install, to complain about not finding any compatible hardware. Device Manager does not list graphics cards or devices, unknown, and what Windows is the card NVidia does not exist.

Here is a summary of what I see:

Discrete graphics mode - my Linux installation (which uses native drivers from NVidia) works very well and uses the NVidia card. Windows 8 starts and runs with a generic graphics driver; There is a decline in performance, and no graphics cards or unknown devices not listed in Device Manager. That's the problem I want to fix it.

Mode Optimus - Windows 8 starts and runs with the integrated graphics Intel (Intel HD Graphics 4000) that are listed in Device Manager. Once again, no other cards graphics or unknown devices not listed yet.

Thank in advance for any help to get the NVidia drivers installed successfully!

    Thanks for your help.

With a little more hunting through Device Manager, I realized what the problem was. It turns out that one of the devices under "System devices"-"Xeon E3-1200 v2/3 rd Gen Core Processor PCI Express Root Port - 0151"(qui est ce que je suppose que la carte NVidia est connectée à) scored with a little yellow! "." triangle and error code 32: "a driver (service) for this device has been disabled. Another driver can provide this functionality.

I uninstalled this device in the Device Manager, to let Windows find it again, did a reboot, back switched in quiet mode, and everything seems all right now!

  • PowerEdge T430 - GPU solutions to improve graphics performance ESXI

Are there solutions GPU compatible with the T430 that would be good to improve graphics performance on virtual machines that run on ESXI?

AMD over-pants S-line cards for virtualization servers seem to be the right solution, but they are expensive.

As an alternative to a GPU for virtualization, I am willing to consider the installation of a constant slope workstation GPU and do passthrough material between the GPU and a specific virtual machine.  The T430 and other PowerEdge servers seem to be 2 x 3 PEG connectors to power regular graphics cards so I did not know if there is a solution for this path.

    I'd appreciate your comments.

    Hello

There is no official support of GPU for the T430. Some cards that can work at AMD, Nvidia W7000 grid K2 and K20.

  • T430: Cannot change the GPU using the NVIDIA Control Panel

    Hello world

I recently bought a T430 including a NVIDIA NVS 5400 M. games graphics card (for example, Max Payne 3) used to run fast, using the NVIDIA GPU. Today, I tried to play a video game once more (after having not played for several weeks). Unfortunately, my OS (Win7, 64-bit) assigns the GPU from Intel, resulting in a much lower speed. Using the NVIDIA Control Panel, I can't change my favorite GPU (changes will not be saved). I already run a update of Lenovo and installed the latest graphics driver (296.88), which resulted in no improvement.

When you start a game, I can choose my graphics manually, but I would like to configure some general settings using the control panel.

    Do you have any solutions?

    Thank you very much.

  • The weak T430 processor when Nvidia card using clock

When I use any aplication with Nvidia card (Photoshop, 3D Max, etc.) or switch to external monitor (Display Port) my CPU is fixed to the minimum values: 1.15 Ghz.

    Why?

What can I do? How to solve this problem?

Help, please. This very important issue for me, because the work on this speed is impossible

    [T430, Core i5 - 3210M, Nvidia NVS5400, Windows 8 x 64 PRO]

BigBlack, thank you! I had problem with Lenovo power management. Now I reinstall by using this statement and my laptop works at full speed (even 3 Ghz supported!)

    Problem solved.

  • W540 with nVidia Quadro K2100M performance issue

    Hello

Recently received a bunch of W540 with the highest specifications here in Norway (REF: 20BG001CMN), but I'm a little surprised by the performance on the descrete graphics. I run the Benchmark in the Valley (http://unigine.com/products/valley/download/), and on ressolution of 1920 x 1200, I am able to get about 20 FPS. While testing on a game (not sure of the plug) 1 pc, we got 170 FPS. I got the latest driver from nVidia. I wasn't expecting this card for performance so low? We see the same results on several W540 with the same specc'd.

This card is just brilliant to CAD or y at - it something wrong with the drivers? Anyone else got any experience with this card?

Please be specific about the parameters.

Valley of the Extreme HD parameter on GTX690 (3072 hearts) gets only 75 fps. K2100M has 576 carrots.

170 fps is result Quad SLI or wrong settings.

So in short, 20 fps is fine.
