On 15-e072sa terrible wireless performance

Hello

My girlfriend recently bought a computer laptop 15-e072sa and it would not correctly work with our VMDG480 router more than 3 meters from the hotel. The problem is out of the box. Specifically, the router seems to be connected but internet does not work. So far, I have tried

-disable anti-virus software

-try different browsers (Chrome and IE)

-Remove and reinstall the wireless drivers

-affecting only g and b only wireless card

-downgraded to windows 7 to see if the operating system was at fault

-restore the router to factory settings and recreate the network with a new ssid

-reinstalled windows 8 and used live the latest realtek drivers

-changed the channel on the Router 1 to 6 to 11 and followed with inSSIDer. Whenever the wireless signal was about-80 to-60 dBm. When I walked into the next room the signal remained around the same (or even increased), however, internet no longer works and ping the router shows the time of 2000ms

When channel 11, no other network appear on the same channel in the room the further. The link score (overall performance based on the intensity of the signal and interference from other networks) on inSSIDer is 100 - highest, it was.

None of the above worked. I am at my wits end here and we cannot return the laptop as it has been used. It's brand new and effectively useless because it can be used only in one piece.

Anyone have any suggestions for additional drivers or wireless settings I should try?

Everyone knows about this problem?

I can't try a differernt currently router as it must have a built-in cable modem. However, the wireless signal is picked up from the well and the internet works perfectly on other devices in the House - a HPG61 with an Atheros AR9285, a Samsung Galaxy and a HTC Desire.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Chris

Right. I didn't need the recovery disc, but I ordered them anyway. They agreed to talk to me on the phone and we worked on the air is not properly connected to the wireless card. You can check this by unscrewing and lifting the Panel of service on the underside of the laptop.

Thank you for a faulty product and weeks of time lost, HP.

  • T430 - Terrible nvidia performance

I just got a 17 core, 8 GB T430 works Wind 7 Pro 4000 HD Intel and nvidia NVS 5400 M. There seems to be a number of problems with the nvidia card.

    1. I can't get anything to use nvidia unless I force it in the BIOS.
    2. When I force it, performance is about 1/10th of the Intel card. The 'Saurebraten' game falls to 200 FPS in ~ 20 fps.
    3. "Run with GPU" is always greyed out.
    4. When I add 'Sauerbraten' in the control panel nvidia and say he must use NVIDIA, the game always reports that it uses Intel.

I tried similar tests with Kubuntu 13.10 using Bumblee and the behavior is the same.

So in summary: I can't use Optimus and when it's running nvidia the performance is terrible. All tests was performed using the computer screen laptop while that connected to the power supply.

Can someone guide me for diagnosis/difficulty? I was full support of Lenovo and can't seem to find any information.

Found the problem. The laptop came with me to have some very strange power settings. 'Seat of the aircraft' had been established and this severely limited the nvidia card. Once I disabled that, things were good.

How this impact also Kubuntu, I'm not sure. I'm just happy that the situation is now resolved.

  • WRT54GS - wireless performance problem

    Dear someone

I am currently having performance problems with my WRT54GSv1.1

Just received my new internet connection to 30Mbit. Unfortunately, I am not able to download at that speed. If I connect via one of the linksys router's ethernet ports, I'm a happy person, but using the wireless makes me a little less happy.

    Wireless: 15Mbit/s

    Through the cable: 27Mbit/s

    Network information:

The distance between the router and the computer laptop 3-4 meters

    Linksys WRT54GSv1.1 - Firmware Version: v4.71.4

Network wireless - g only mode

TV - 6 (because all the surrounding neighbor use 10-11, I noticed using Cain Abel & wireless discovered 4.9.29)

    Security: WPA2-Personal (TKIP + AES)

All other settings are default (just reset to the factory settings).

    Laptop:

    Windows Vista Business SP1 32-bit

Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (installed the latest drivers from the website of intel, default settings)

When you check the diagnostic of Intel tools, it tells me the link is 54 megabits and pushes meter packages of 54 megabits, while all lower speeds remain the same.

    More diagnostic information:

    Percent missed beacons: 0

    Percent transmit errors: 18

    Current Tx power: ~ 32 mW (100%)

Supported power levels: 1.0 mW - 32.0 mW.

Hope someone can help me here.

    Thanks in advance!

    Kind regards

Although wireless g "connects" to 54 Mbit/s, the maximum possible wireless "data rate" (in ideal laboratory conditions) is only about 20 to 25 Mbit/s.  Unfortunately, the phrase "in ideal laboratory conditions" generally excludes home intrusion!

The aerial transmission for wireless connections is higher than for wired connections.   Thus, most individuals find that their Wi - Fi connection works at 50% to 70% of their speed of wired (LAN).  Your wired LAN being 27 Mbps connection speed, your 15 Mbps wireless speed is within normal limits.

You might be able to tweak a bit more speed from your wireless network by optimizing all your wireless settings.  Here are a few suggestions:

I guess you want actually to WPA2 encryption.  If so, set to AES only.   When you set the router to TKIP and AES, you actually tell the router to accept a WPA or WPA2 connection.

Also, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you use "linksys", you can try to connect the router to your neighbor. Also set 'SSID Broadcast' to 'active '. This will help your computer to find and lock on the signal from your router.

Bad wireless connections are often caused by interference from other 2.4 GHz devices. This includes cordless phones, baby monitor wireless, microwave ovens, wireless mice and keyboards, wireless speakers and wireless network from your neighbor. In rare cases, Bluetooth devices can interfere. Even some 5 + GHz phones also use the 2.4 Ghz band. disconnect these devices and see if that solves your problem.

In your router, try another channel. There are 11 channels in the band of 2.4 GHz channel 1, 6 or 11 generally works better. Discover your neighbors and see what channel they use. Because the channels overlap, try to stay at least + 5 or - 5 channels of your more powerful neighbors. For example, if you have a powerful neighbour on channel 9, try any channel 1 to 4.

Also, try putting the router about 4 to 6 feet above the ground in an open area. Do not place behind your screen or other computer equipment or speakers. The antenna must be vertical.

In addition, in the computer, go to your wireless software and go to 'Favorite networks' (sometimes called 'Profiles'). There are probably a few listed networks. Remove any network called "linksys". Also remove any network that you don't recognize or that you no longer use. If your current network is not listed, enter its information (SSID, encryption (if any) and key (if any)). Select your current network and make your network by default, then set it to auto login. You may need to go to 'settings' to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select 'Properties' or 'settings '.

If you continue to have problems, try the following:

For wireless g routers, try setting the "baud rate" at 54 Mbps.

If you still have problems, download and install the latest firmware for your router. After an update of the firmware, you must reset the default router, and then configure the router again from scratch. If you have saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

    I hope this helps.

  • wireless performance

ATT had a breakdown of the internet last week.  Now my wireless connection is degraded.  The videos are choppy.  Downloads to take more time.  Wired connections are ok.  It's just the wireless connection.  My router is linksys WRT150N.  Can what settings I check?

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER... Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...

Click Manual configuration select tab-here wireless... Wireless network mode must be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors...

-Set the Standard - 20 MHz Radio band and change the Standard channel to 11-2, 462 GHz... Wireless SSID broadcast should be enabled and then click on save settings...
Please take note of the name of the wireless network (SSID) because it's the network identifier...

Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the mode of WPA wireless security, encryption, select TKIP. Password input your desired WPA key. For example, MySecretKey, this will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and do not forget the key.
NOTE: password must be equal to or more than 8 characters...

    Click the settings advanced wireless
Change the tag to 75 interval, change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 and click on save settings...
Now let's see if you can locate your wireless network and try to connect...

  • Animate terrible edge performance...

All drawing a rectangle is real lag. It shows using 75 MB of RAM in the Task Manager. Also playback is jerky but plays well in the browser. I've recently updated to version 2014.0, and before the update, it ran like a champ. Any ideas? The program is now essentially USELESS!. Photoshop and Illustrator run without any problem. I rebooted, I am running the latest graphics drivers, so there is no reason the performance super slow. Even clicking on the icons on the toolbar of shifts! Can I go back to the previous version?

    UPDATE:

I uninstalled edge animate, removing preferences, re-installed, same problem persists.

Hi penserv, sorry your overlooking the edge experience animate. I'm assuming you areon Windows since you mentioned the Task Manager. We have a problem of performance known in edge animate and I would suggest the below the solution for this.

    Workaround solution:

    (a) go to control panel/color management.

    (b) click on Advanced tab and check if the device profile is nothing other than the system default.

    (c) if it is set to something else than default system, we found the performance of Animate being poor.

    (d) the reset system by default unless there is a reason says that you need a different color profile. This will fix the issue of performance known with Animate.

Note: Study us this and planning on a fix in a future version, so that you must not modify the default color profile.

Let me know if this helped.

  • EA4500 and heavy loading performance wireless

    Hi all

I'm backup of massive amounts of data in the cloud. Whenever I do, on my EA4500 wireless performance seems to deteriorate up to half of its flow. I am using the 2.4 GHz band. No idea why?

    Thank you

    Randy

There is a known issue with the accuracy of detection of bandwidth Qos.

I just disabled it (prioritization qos/media)

There is a solution by manually adjusting and puff up your bandwidth (links to it and double it)

They just fixed the E4200v1 a few days ago with an update of the firmware. I hope that we will see a (soon).

I don't know how good workaround is, because I don't want to care about her or with her antics.

You can also try to disable WMM and see if that helps. They also fixed a problem with E4200v1 WMM (I think).

  • No base - curve - bad performance ION S12 wireless - Lenovo support no help

    Hi forum,

I received my Thanksgiving S12 ION contract last week.  The size and the format are perfect, overall performance, just as it should be, but wireless performance is unacceptable.  I work for IBM and have a T60P work laptop and two mobile Y430, all of which have the perfect full bars of signal wireless throughout my house.  But this S12 ION has only three bars in my office next to the wireless G router and only one or two bars in the next room.  For any other room in the House I can not connect.

I checked that I have installed the latest wireless drivers.  It comes with those who is the latest on the Lenovo support site.

I called technical support from Lenovo.  After waiting on hold, I've been connected, then dropped after another 30 minutes on hold.  The second time I have called, I was told that I had to turn on the wireless switch.  I told the tech that I was already logged and that the question was wrong signal.  He suggested to remove Lenovo readycomm, but which is not installed on this S12.  Finally, he told me that it's just a netbook, not a laptop and if I don't like what I should return it.

I'm so angry at this poor support that I return it immediately, if it wasn't for the expenses of return of 15%.

Does anyone else have problems with wireless?  I'm wrong about what is a nice wireless connectivity tool?

At the price I paid, $399, I can this dump on eBay, but I am seriously disappointed.

    Hi Forum,

I opened the wireless card slot after reading other forums of netbook that some had to loose antenna connectors. At first I thought that's what I had as one of the drivers, a black, was not seated. It turns out that the connector on the wireless card has been open curve.

    See photos:

I folded the connector closed ring, reconnect the antenna cable, and now I have a signal. Thought you would be interested in the photos.

I'm going to call Lenovo and ask them to replace the wireless card, because there is no guarantee the connector is not damaged, but it works fine for now.

Make sure that your router is set to a fixed channel wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto '.  Try each of the channels one at a time.  Make sure they are spaced at least 5 feet.

  • HP Photosmart B110: B110 does print wireless more after the passage of internet service provider

    Hello

I have a photosmart b110 and always used printer wireless with no problems.

I use a laptop HP G62, windows 7 Home premium and as I said, never had any problems with my printer before (and goes through all the printing test pages, is anything wrong with that).

A week ago I changed my (internet) providers, and since there are problems:

But on the HP Networkconfigurationpage prints, the printer gives all the correct information (networkname etc.), it does not react to print from the laptop orders more.

Well, it does work once after the problem started and well after that I have installed on the pc (using "add new printer")

However, the next day, after having restarted the laptop, the connection was working no more.

So far, I called the service provider 3 times (in order to get different people) and heard 'Sorry, no idea' twice and "If you don't have internet, it must be the fault of the printer.

Can someone please give me an idea about where to look?

The last provider had a cable connection, this one is by telephone line, could that be a reason? And if so, why? And how can I solve this problem?

So, I hope that someone can offer some suggestion help! :-)

Reset the printer to the network settings.   Then...

  • HP Deskjet 2540: help! Cannot connect to the home network wireless HP 2540.

So, I'm trying to connect my new wireless printer to my home network.  Yay!  I move into the 21st century!   Not so fast, Buster!

    Here's the run down:

I ran the installation CD, connected to a USB port when told to find my SSID, entered my password, he did his thing and then he said that I had the wrong password.  Perhaps. Ok.  Tried again with the same results.    Connected on the router (gateway of Technicolor), checked the password.  Nope, it did ' t change.  Tried again, and this time, I hit the button troubleshooting when he told me that I had the wrong password.

I followed the guide that he d/l would be after the presentation of the error report.  Run the test of wireless network from the buttons on the printer and it says "the WPA security password configured on your HP printer is not your wireless router setting."  I assure you, expensive printer, I have not.

Jumped on the router page configuration when you are prompted by the guide troubleshooting and ensured that MAC filtering has been set to 'allow all' which, according to the manual of the router assures me, will allow all devices to connect.  Made sure that the 2 GHz range was alive and Kickin ' and that DHCP is enabled in the IPv4 & 6 tabs.  I even reset the router as the troubleshooting guide said.  Ran the test report yet, not logged in.  It is then the troubleshooting guide abandoned and directed me here.

But then I noticed in the manual of the printer there is a WPS function available!  WPS!  It's must be!   Pressed the button wireless to the printer for 5 seconds to put in WPS mode, press the button on the router... not good.  I noticed that on top of one of the many reports of tests wireless network there is a WPS PIN which was good for 5 minutes.  Got a new a new wireless network test report, went into the router WPS customer PIN login page, entered it... no good.  I tried again with the page, open and ready to go, just in case I took longer than 5 minutes.  Still not good.

So I thought I would at least give the option 'WiFiDirect' to try printing.  I printed the page "Use printer wireless without a router" by pressing the direct wireless for about 5 seconds, found the printer in the WiFI networks and entered the password to 8 digits when he asked for the WPA key.  I don't remember if he said it was the wrong key or what, but now it just says: unable to connect to the network.

All the test reports diagnostic results show the wireless on and functional.  Connectivity has not been executed, the SSID was found with no other network corresponding to my network name, with 12 other networks detected.  The settings part was not run and Security (in bold and in italics as in the report) down (in the report) since, I guess, he thinks that I have the wrong password.  Who, once more, I assure you that I am not.

So my question is basically this: now what?

Well, I told you a hundred times... Gateway devices are terrible for connectivity and wireless performance.   My suggestion is for connect you to put this bridge in full bridge mode device and buy a router of high quality that you have full control over and you.   I gave everything but peripheral gateway troubleshooting.

  • Pavilion DV7T - 1200 CTO happened w / Wireless issues - work in progress - solved

I took delivery on a DV7T yesterday.  It is configured with the minimap Intel 5100 AGN & Vista 32 Home premium (my first Vista machine).  I had updated my wireless router home in anticipation of his arrival, installation of a model of D - Link DIR-655 (Vista friendly 802.11n capable).  The router plays well with my existing XP laptop and has been configured for WPA2 AES & compatibility b/g/n.

I configured the appropriate connection parameters and launched a manual connection.  I made changes to the router so the SSID was visible and defined the DV7T for automatic connection, but it took often more a minute before the DV7T would see even the network wireless and even a minute or two before reporting the signal strength. Each time, connection attempts failed, reports of a lack of response from the router.  After the double check (and returning) settings and password several times (and the audit by doing the same thing on another laptop which connected very well) I finally decided there was a problem and called for help.  Given that the order had been placed through Costco, I went through their Concierge as a first level service. Their script for was power off all computers (XP) on the network saying that a common problem was having a Vista machine join a network with XP already connected machines. No joy. Same lack of goodness after removing/reinstalling the drivers. It was as much as the script went to attempts at original resolution.

At this point, no resolution & I plan just to return the machine for a refund (lack of wireless really it would damage the intended use). Propelled upwards all the equipment I had turned off.  Bored of not knowing for sure if it was an inherent incompatibility or a hardware problem (the day of delivery!)  I ended up out and pick up an express format card card N Wireless of Linksys.   Responsible drivers, plugged in the card and voila! immediately, the machine connects using the configuration of the connection that I had entered previously.  On top of that, the flow of data showed that 240-270 mbits.

With this info, I went back to service, initially to the connection of Costco and then discussed in HP support. After a 3 hour marathon call, HP sends a replacement 5100AGN card to 'see if this fixes things', if it is not, the machine must go back to the service (as a problem of antennas would not be repairable client). Part of the duration of a call has been associated with finding the right part for a machine CTO.  The wireless card on my machine something SN (Broadcom) was set apart from the 5100 (although the list mentioned packing a minimap Intel next gen and the Manager device reports an Intel 5100AGN).  They have finally found a suitable part number (I hope).

I just thought I would pass this along in case where someone else found themselves in a similar situation.  I'll post much after that the replacement property is displayed. As a side note, the Linksys N Ultra Rangeplus expresscard works really well as a replacement. Of course I'd rather not have something projecting from the side, but it certainly did the job.

    EDITION - ADDENDUM

After the above post, I couldn't help but think that a problem of antennas sounded very probably - maybe a lead broken/disconnected (something I mentioned to the technology of the telephone service).  In any case, just a minute before, I went ahead and pulled the bottom panel, so I could take a look at the wireless card.  Technology said there would be two tracks running to the card - only was connected, the other has fallen in a crack between the card and the frame.  The wire not connected has been labeled "main" and there is a connector on the "main" labelled map  The two sons had been celo-glued to the card (in the broad sense), but I had the disconnected an oriented properly & pressed into the connector on the card.  He buttoned & turned on the machine.  He immediately finds the wireless network and connection has been made in a few seconds.

My only ongoing question may turn out to be wireless performance.  Connection with the linksys card speeds were always above 200 (230-270).  Speeds, I see on the bed in so far have been initially lower than 100, with the best after being 150 mbits.  Any suggestions for how this can be improved?  Will the adapter 'learn' alone and get better over time?

    FINAL ADDENDUM-

Model found on another forum that the 5100AGN has apparently a maximum 150 Mbps on a 300 Mbps max for RX & TX... the 5300AGN is 300 in both directions.

This suggests that the 150 that I see is as good as it gets for my integrated card. Apparently, the Linksys expresscard I used is good for TX/RX 300.

I don't know that the costco guys worked just for the trouble shooting script, he gave.  On the plus side, he had an understanding of the issues, & spoke vernacular American English (and not in a call center offshore).  He was ready to continue, but I needed a time out.  The second call (after me obtain Linksys for comparison) was good enough and the technology was very ready he climbs to a technician of HP (once again, the continent - not off shore), which was certainly ready to order a replacement part, but crossed a few last checks more that the internal card could not be implemented. The part was sentenced & will be shipped without requiring a deposit of me. The only negative for telephone exchanges, it's neither opening proposed leads the lower panel to check the antennas have been connected correctly.

As stated in the original post - edited-, the final fix was to open the Panel & visually notice that a 'primary' marked lead was not connected to the wireless card.  Attaching which lead to the consequence named connector on the Board eliminated the problem.   The disparity of the connection speeds between the internal 5100AGN and the Linksys 802.11n expresscard was due to the limitations of card design (150TX/300RX 5100AGN and 300 TX/RX for the Linksys), so the 150 Mbps I see currently for internally is as good it will become.  I'll probably send the rear replacement not opened as opposed to actually Exchange cards. (I don't think that the shipment may be shortstopped at this point...).

  • Want to m6 - 1158ca: Intel Centrino Wireless N-2230 keeps abandon the connection unless a specific driver version is used.

Regarding N-2230 INTEL CENTRINO WIRELESS CARD ON YEAR WANT M6 - 1158CA

OK, my computer was sent to the shop for the following reason.

Wireless guard fall on me unless I use the driver coming from a clean factory HP restore.

The driver in question works is: INTEL 15.10.3.2 - published on 08-22-2013

Driver INTEL 15.5 version works as well.

All other versions, including the latest intel pro wireless drivers, I have connectivity problems and they are pretty bad. I have to keep resetting the wireless adapter every 5 minutes or sooner!

Makes me think of what follows. Is there a problem with the card, OR are these drivers specially configured to work with this card.

It is not supposed that the drivers of the latest and should not work - unless the card begins to intermittently fail. I say this because the WLAN MODULE check past in BIOS diagnostics. But just becaused it HAPPENED, doesn't mean it isn't bginning to fail. I doubt that the diagnostic program looks at every single circuit on the map to see if it works or not.

So, I put the question you guys. Because, if the technicians decide to change the map and put in a different INTEL CENTRINO WIRELESS N-2230, I'll have the same problems.

And you might say: so what's the problem? Just use drivers that work!

And I say good idea BUT these are drivers of Windows 8 and I want to use WINDOWS 10 and the pilots Win 8 will not / should not work. And which provides updates of Windows drivers do not work. And HP does not Windows 10 drivers for this model of computer. They rely on Windows update.

So, from being as tech PC since the beginning of the 1990s, I think I know what I'm talking about.

But, no man is an island of information on their own, so I put the question you guys and see what you're saying!

    Thank you.

I think that I found a solution to my problem.

First thing to note is that I am running on battery power.

The solution seems to be the advanced power setting options for the adapter wireless performance MAXIMUM average energy saving.

Once I did, I had connectivity again!

Now let's see if this solution works for Windows 10.

This solution applies to Intel 15.18.0.1 driver version

I did not want to do this (restore point). However, I found a solution. It comes: http://forums.techguy.org/networking/1029348-network-connection-status-media-disconnected.html

Where there are two crucial steps (do not know if the two were needed) RUN command (1) netsh int ip reset reset.log and (2) netsh winsock reset catalog

After a restart, hey presto my wireless connection was repaired. This seems useful, but not essential (shows wireless performance but not the solution): http://wpc.475a.edgecastcdn.net/0047...etup.1.2.0.exe which is run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
