T500 bios which versions? flashing or not?

Hello lenovo community users.

I have a questions about my t500 bios.

When do you need to level or to Flash your bios?

I flashed once, but I don't really know why and if it has done anything.

can I upgrade the bios back to default settings?

Thanks for a response

Generally, you don't have a need to Flash your bios unless the changelog lists a fix for a problem you are having, or if you are instructed to do so by technical support.

On the other hand, I always keep my systems until the current level more by habit, on workstations where you frequently upgraded hardware or processors, it is should be always running the latest bios.  On laptops, which is not the case, since the material is relatively static.

  • Flashed to update BIOS, now the fan is not working?

I have a HP DV6226US and I have recently updated the BIOS to version F.2D. I am running vista 32 os. It is the version that is given for my computer model on the site of HP software and drivers. When I ran the update, I remember saying that he check the compatibility before the BIOS flash.

    Here's my question...

Before the lightning used to fan run constantly with clearly different degrees of RPM. After the flash, the fan does not seem at all turns. It turned on once when I restarted the computer (right before you start loading vista). Other that that, I can not here one thing. However, I used HD Tune and a CPU monitor very simple to see what kind of weather the internal parts are running in. My HARD drive (WD 7200 RPM 320 GB Scorpio black) is running at constant c from 46 to 47. In the manufactures specifications, even under the 200 + GB scans loaded on it. The processor cores appear to be good inside factory card as well. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this change in behavior of the fan due to the update of the BIOS, and if I should be concerned by the apparently lack of fan activity. I use this laptop for DJ and karaoke at intervals of 4 to 5 hours about 5 days a week and demand that it is not overheating. Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks in advance.

OK, since no one answered I came up with my own solution. So for anyone who did a search and comes up with this post, this is what how I solved my problem.

I went back to the software HP and downloads page and read all versions of the BIOS updates. I found myself flashing version e.16 for several reasons.

    • It is close to the original version of the F.14 (who does not appear in the BIOS versions).
    • Other versions have been fixes for the problems that I had not lived with my laptop (HP DV6226us with a 30BB motherboard Quanta and processor Intel T2250)
    • E.16 added support for processors Intel Celeron M (which is not important in my application) and improves the performance of the system with a thermal function to update the CPU.

Before the downgrade of F.2D to e.16, such as mentioned in previous posts, the CPU cores were running at a distance of 35 ° c - 55 ° c +. Not out of reach, but warmer than usual. The temperature of the HARD drive has been ranging from 42 ° c - 61. 61 was reached in the execution of an analysis, and it is out of the Max Temp. Beach of the HARD disk that is 60 ° c. During my DJ/KJ shows the disk HARD temp. would more 53ºC - 58ºC and usually take around with a small fluctuation 54ºC. To me this seemed very high from what I was used to in the past before updating the BIOS F.2D.

Since the downgrade to e.16, my CPU temp. has varied between 0 ° c - 35 ° c and is usually at 20 ° c. The HARD drive has retreated down to 42 ° c - 45 ° c. During my DJ/KJ show the temp. Hit 44ºC and constant which took place. It is a huge improvement. The fan works just like in the past and is not blowing hot super air when it works.

Fixed a problem! Hope this helps someone else who is facing a similar problem.

  • Plugin Flash will not install even after installing the latest version of Flash

When I go to a site that contains Flash content, it says "a plugin is required to view this content" and there is a link to install the plugin. In addition, there is a message at the top of the page that says "additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" with an option to "Install missing Plugins". I click on the link to install the missing plugin, and a dialog box appears that says "the following plugins are available: ' and 'Adobe Flash Player 11.0.1.152' lists with a checkbox next to it. The box is checked, and I click on 'Next' to install. He's going through the motions and then told me that 'no plugins were installed. There is a link to manually install the plugin, which brings me to the Adobe's Flash download page. I unchecked the box for pair McAfee Security download and downloaded the latest version of Flash (to be honest, I downloaded actually this exact version even about 10 times today). The dialog box appears, I save the file and once it has downloaded, open the folder that contains (my downloads folder). I then, close all programs (including Firefox) except for the folder of Windows Explorer I want to run the installer from. I double-click the Flash Installer to perform the installation. The installation process is complete, the installer tells me that the download is successful, and my browser opens upward with a message "Successful Installation" from the Adobe Web site. Yay! My installation is successful... Orrrrrr not. Return to the page with the Flash media - always have a message saying that I need the plugin. Try to download plugin once again... no dice.

THEN, I go to "Manage my Add-ons" thinking maybe I need to activate the plugin. There is no plugin Flash (or Shockwave) listed on any of the menus - it is as if it does not exist.

I downloaded the latest version of Java because I read somewhere that Flash requires Java work; I installed the "add-on Compatibility Reporter" so I could force Java to be enabled. It made no difference whatsoever, best I can tell.

I also went to the Adobe homepage where you can see what version of Flash you use (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) and it does not even show that I have installed Flash. In Internet Explorer, it shows that I have installed Flash, but it's the previous version (but this is probably due to the fact that I downloaded Flash in Mozilla, not IE, and they use different modes in each browser - so an update that you download from a browser does not necessarily apply to the other browser).

So in summary: I don't know what on Earth is wrong here, but I'm about as frustrated that I've never been in my life. I don't know why the installation of Adobe Flash is said she is successful (it sleeps for me?), but there is no plugin appear in my menu manage add-ons, and I googled all the possible combinations of content in this message and have not found a solution that works yet.

It seems that you have found the 64-bit version of Flash. Is your Windows 7 64-bit?

I did read your entire post, but NPSWF64_11_1_102.dll which is Flash 64-bit; This turns into a novel when it should have been a short story.

First, uninstall all Flash your system by following these instructions from Adobe

Second, get the 32-bit versions of the following. Why? Unless you use an unofficial Firefox 64-bit version, the regular Firefox is a 32-bit browser and needs 32-bit Flash.

Third, test Flash on websites where you had a problem before.

If this does not work, my last suggestion for you is to follow the instructions from Adobe for troubleshooting. I don't know what's happening with your system, which could possibly be the cause of the problem.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: update BIOS - my version of the OS is not listed in the BIOS version, I want to update

    Hello

I need quick information. I want to update my BIOS. The current version is F.00 - 03/07/2013 and I want to update the F.27 Rev.A - version 25/07/2016. However, Win 10 (which is the operating system I use) is not listed as an operating system supported for this BIOS (latest version for Win Win 8.1 support 64 bit). I would like to know if I can still download and use the version of the 25/07/2016 F.27 Rev.A BIOS even if the latest OS is win 8.1 64 bit, while I use Win 10 64 bit?

    Thank you.

    Dear customer,

Updated the BIOS for the Chipset and is not serious if the unit has WIN 8 or 10 to WIN.

As it says BIOS-Basic Input Output System

The BIOS is a chip on the motherboard.

We recommend you update the device with the latest available BIOS VER for chipset perform better.

  • Satellite L-20: how to remove the password in the BIOS, which I do not remember?

    Hello!
How are you? I have Toshiba L-20 on which I put the password in hw-installation of the software, but I don't remember.
I did not know that is related to the bios while seting upward. I had deleted this program thinking would help. In fact I can use the laptop in usual way, but whenever I start bios application password and then relying on ctrl + alt + delete it disable and tip for 2 sec again.
This time, it work, load the windows and everything is ok. just this password what do I do?

Please give me a hand, is more than a month like that.
    IS
    Mateusz

    Hello

It s a little confused what you describe, because after the BIOS setting password it should not be possible to enter the Windows without knowing the password.

As far as I know in the HWSetup Toshiba, you can set the password. It s not a Bios password.
If you want to remove this password, you need this utility.
You can choose the non registered option, type the old password and then you will receive a message that the password has been deleted.

I think the HWSetup you find on you tools & utility CD.
If this is not the case, try to use the System Restore tool to roll back the OS to the beginning.

I bought a laptop with a windows xp pro, I have the serial number, but I don't have the installation disc. How can I know which version I need? SP3 has not worked... at the moment I am testing SP1

The serial number of the computer has nothing to do with the product key for Windows.

What happened when you tried to install Xp with sp3? If you do not have the original for the computer that you use to install Windows?

You can try to contact the manufacturer of the computer who may be able to provide the recovery disc. The disks are usually under $ 20.

Check your Adobe account online.  If you have registered the software version should be shown there.

Never share your serial number publicly... anyone can use it.

  • Latest version of flash installed, but I get an error message that Flash is not installed

    Hello

I got a new computer running Windows 7 with SP1 family

Flash: You have installed 15,0,0,239 version

Flash is tested as works fine in Chrome and Firefox, but locally, it doesn't.

I have 2 requests of different telling me that Flash is not installed on my computer when I try to launch them (one being a user manual for one new screen from Samsung, the other 'killer network management').
I don't see how to solve the problem, an idea someone?

    THx in advance

    Mike

These local applications frequently integrate Internet Explorer.  Each browser has its own copy of Flash Player (almost anyway), so if you have never used IE on your system, you might need to start it and install Flash Player http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer to go beyond that.

  • my laptop is stolen; I have the serial number of my Photoshop Elements, but do not remember what version; I now have Wondows 8.1. How can I find out which version to download and install?

Sorry... title says it all. I had a Photoshop Elements 3.0 on the disc and have subsequently downloaded updates and was running an updated version on my laptop stolen with Windows 7.

My account shows my serial number of Photoshop but not the version number which I forgot. I guess I can now re-download the version I've had - updated to run on Windows 8.1 but do not know which version to download.

Contact Customer Support by chat or phone and they should be able to look at the history of your purchases.  You might even find it yourself if search you the different links in your account.

Here is a link to a page with options to help make contact:

Support should be able to disable the software for your laptop stolen as well.

  • Version of the plugin (latest) Flash does not always succeed. Help!

Run Firefox with Flash 14.0.0.145 Windows 8.1 31. Flash became utterly reliable. There are several symptoms of failure. For example, if I try to move forward in a YouTube video, the video will freeze while the sound continues. It crashes frequently to the top, stop Firefox to do anything for the number of seconds at a time. Often, he announces that he is broken down and the page must be loaded. These problems have become so persistent that I abandon Firefox if I can't solve this problem. I have set up with it through Flash updates at least two, hoping each time that the problem could be solved. I think that there certainly is a connection of Firefox for the problems, because the Flash works well in Chrome. (But Firefox has many addons that I like).

I tried to disable "hardware acceleration" in the settings of the Flash. Then, Flash does not work!

Any ideas to resolve this would be very appreciated.

If you have not already could you try to disable safe_mode of the Flash plugin. This implies the creation or modification of a parameter file. The following/posts pages provide different ways to do this:

To download the Flash completely (closing and restarting Firefox could help) until it takes effect.

    Any difference?

  • Original image has disappeared I think off the hard drive and the BIOS password set up does not work?

Someone please help me with this!

I bought this laptop from a friend (have receipt) who sell it to me because the screen was cracked and spidered all out when you the activated. And everywhere he went to ask to get the screen fixed it is very expensive ($250 - $350) and he said that it would be just a newer laptop. So he sold me this which is a model Probook of HP4420s XT940UT #ABA. About a week after I bought this Probook friend who sold it to died me suddenly. It was sudden and terrible. Some time later, I had the time of the purchase of the LCD for this model, replace it myself (was very easy actually) and booted up the laptop with a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition. After installing all my software and using the laptop for a while now, I wanted to get into the Bios that I've never done. So when I started the laptop, click ESC, then F10 to enter the BIOS, there were two places to enter a password is different then all Dell I've ever owned. One was mine I guees I put in place using HP protect tools and the other says BIOS/administrator. Well I can do most of the changes with the one I put in place with my password but my password does not work, nor can I get in some very significant changes that I wanted to do using Bios/administrator, as kindling the LoJack, namely the blocking of the hard drive etc. , turning on turbo boost, fan, etc. Well, since the person I bought is no longer with us, there is no one to turn to the answer to this question of administrator/BIOS password / problem.  I tried to take battery Rtype and restore that way, didn't work. Several times, I called HP and they sent me to a BIOS page to download the same BIOS, I have already, would not let me install it. When I bring up the command prompt and do not put anything in BiosConfigureUtility.exe happens, said just a wrong command. When I try to enter the BIOS through the C: file in the files of the SSM, I reach the BiosConfigUtility.exe file, click on it to open it and it just flashes a way small order page to fast to read what it says. I would like to have complete control over my laptop thinking I have a lot of time and money invested in it now. The problem would have something to do with installing the 64 bit version of Windows 7 instead of the 32 bits guess what it initially provided with?  Where can I find the UUID and what tech Department I would ask because if I have to call HP again and what other information should I have ready for them if you know? I have all the manuals and they say that this laptop is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Pro is what I installed. I'm mixed responses from many different people on this and would like an answer from HP someone who has experience in dealing with the BIOS in the Probooks business models if possible please. I really like this Probook and have since become a big fan of most HP, Dell and Lenovo.  I intend to buy two probooks, one for my wife and one for my daughter because this one is like a MacBook, but better.  Thank you for reading this and I hope someone can help with more than one answer then GET AHOLD OF HP TECHNICAL TEAM. As I said, I did it.

  • Flash does not work despite all try

Videos content Flash on all Web sites recently stopped playing in the Firefox browser running on my Vista 64 bit system. I tried everything on the support forums and also which can be judged. I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash and this is the version latest and greatest; I refreshed Firefox; I disabled the protection mode; I made sure all the settings of the plugin and extension are as it should and does not. Whenever I get the same message: "Your Adobe Flash is obsolete."

I have used Firefox for more than a decade, but if this continues I will be forced to adopt another browser - sad.

The problem here is that 17 Flash do not uninstall Flash 9 when it was installed. If Flash 9 is still getting used to first, although 17 Flash is also installed.

The solution is to remove the v9 Flash .dll file.

In your URL bar, type "subject: plugins" and click on enter. On the topic: plugins page, find the entry for Shockwave Flash that says it's v9. Then look at the "path" for this entry line. It will look something like C:\windows\SysWOW32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_9_0_0_169.dll

Navigate to the directory that contains the file, close Firefox and remove the NPSWF... 9.dll file. Then re-open Firefox. Now Firefox should use the latest version of Flash.
