I had an opportunity T500 and read about it. How to identify if it has a switchable graphics card? When I go into the Windows XP Device Manager, I see a card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.

If it has ATI gpu, then it is a switchable graphic model.

With your system, you can switch to 8 GB of RAM. Done that and uninstalling unnecessary programs can help performance.

There is no graphics card AMD switchable for my model, even with a BIOS update. That is right.

Deliver the switchable graphics card Windows 8.1

Hi, I had a problem since upgrading to Windows 8.1 with my graphic card on my laptop. I tried to go through the official support, but they were not very useful (I wanted to reinstall windows 7 and stick to it) so I decided to try one last time to repair my laptop here.

I have a HP ENVY Ultrabook 4 - 1053tx http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=en&cc=my&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5285... , which has no windows 8.1 on the site of HP drivers. It came with Windows 7 that I upgraded to 8 (no problems with it).

Since the upgrade to 8.1, I met the following problems:

-Audio is choppy / stutters not bad, which is very annoying when listening to music. I am facing this problem in any media player, I have try and on Youtube/all other Web site. This problem occurs only when the laptop is connected which leads me to think that it is a problem with the 7670 M Radeon HD card or driver. The laptop is on the 'performance' mode when plugged in (i.e. the best graphics) and use the Intel one 4000 when it's on battery power.

-If the laptop goes to sleep / screen saver turns on, I sometimes wake up questions. Sometimes the screen goes black for a few seconds then the office returns, and a box at the bottom on the right say that the Radeon driver handed over a fall.

-J' have a video game installed (Football Manager 2012 through Steam). If the laptop is disconnected, or I put the game specifically to use graphs when it is connected to energy saving, the game loads fine. He tries to open with the Radeon card, it hangs or does not load. This happens every time.

Symptoms make me feel that there is something wrong with the Radeon graphics card or its drivers. I tried to reinstall the intel and drivers radeon (win 8 versions), but it has not solved the problem. I also tried to install the driver to win 8.1 for the 7670M I found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5371... but it also does not solve the problem.

Well, I think that I found a solution to my problem for a long time. It seems to boil down to a problem with the start program Intel RepID. I changed the mode "acceleration" of "Maximized" by establishing "Enhanced" in it, and so far this has solved the problem! I've been using the laptop plugged in for a little over an hour and no problems so far.

I bought one of the last available compressed games, a TouchSmart tm2t. Switchable graphics has served me well, until recently. Most of the games work without problem, but Dead Island and Dota 2 are not playable. The last pilot carried out since September 2010. Is it possible that I can get the games to work? I'm even willing to hack my driver, if that's what it takes.

HP has ugly support for driver or BIOS updates for out of production models. We have no count on the help of the community.

Brightness unadjustable for 'High Performance' in the graphics card technology switchable

I just made the transition to Windows 7 Professional on my Thinkpad R400(2787-A31)

However, after installing the driver for Thinkpad switchable graphics card, I am unable to set my brightness if I use mode performance. My laptop comes with ATi Radeon 3470 and Intel GMA 4500MHD.

I have already installed most of the drivers, and after a few tests, I realized that it was the switchable graphics driver that cause this problem. Before the installation of this driver, I've been on the ATi Radeon all this time and I can change the brightness.

I hope someone can help me with this problem of driver. My installation of the drivers was the support page. All except the controller PCI of communication Simple to their drivers.

Ok........ I think I solved the problem by upgrading the BIOS with the latest version. I don't know why it would solve the problem, but it worked!

The Thinkpad only in the current generation which has switchable graphics card is the T410s, all other laptops using the Integrated GPU or Nvidia GPU.

PROBLEMS T400 with switchable graphics technology.

A few months ago, I bought T400. without having to install any other drivers.

I have never even pondered graphics drivers or switchable graphics until recently. I use the computer for photographs, files ebook, documents and internet and the display was always beautiful.
