T530 keyboard

Hello

I'm new to this forum. I have a 2nd hand X 220 for 3 months now, easily the best machine that I had never. I'm now intending to buy an another thinkpad and intend to spend my X 220 to my wife.

I am interested in the T530, but in the images of the site, it shows a strange keyboard, something like a copy of a macbook. Nothing impressive really and seems to have a strange provision. (Next to the space bar PrintScreen? Weird)

Now the question is:

I don't see an option to choose the normal keyboard. Why is this? It is possible to buy one with the keyboard has the X 220?

I just noticed that I posted this in the wrong forum, I wanted to say t...

Anyway. I'm a programmer and I really liked the way that the keys were held. It was almost like using a full keyboard. I guess I have to stick to my X 220. To be honest, the thinkpads are no extraordinary in some way, if not for this useful keyboard.

In a way, this is good, since I don't have a reason to buy a thinkpad now, so I can look in the other options.

Thanks for the reply!

  • Purchase T530 buy backlit keyboard or not to buy that is the question

Want to buy T530 wouldn't mind a backlight, but can happen.
It has been said by someone on these forums that the backlit chiclet keyboard not and
backlit, it has a different feel.

They said that no backlit keyboard is similar to tactile sensation
Non-traditional chiclet keyboard. While the backlit chiclet keyboard is sweeter
and does not require as much pressure to register for a key

Lenovo said that two keyboards had feeling and the same feedback

What anyone here have experience with both and I can confirm?
I would like just a little more opinions on this matter before deciding

    Thank you

I make my own advice for the backlit keyboard. The new chiclet keyboard is slightly different from the old keyboards 7 rows while you will need to make some adjustments in all cases. The backlight function is a boon in a dimly lit environment. It is quite useful to do.

  • Using the keyboard of the possible t520 in t530

as I have learned that there is no mechanical reason not used keyboardlayout classic of the model 7row in a t530. But what are the effects of bios without being able to support the 7r keyboard? the buttons may not work properly? And just for curiosity: the 'ugly' keyboard will work on the 520? (pimp my notebokk haha.)

    Hi, me again.

THE SOLUTION TO THIS: CURRENTLY NO SOLUTION.

The same situation appeared with my X 201 and X 230 - I wanted to Exchange keyboards, does not work for all keys. BUT: with the 12 "model there is a community around this tent to solve the problem. If the nit will be solevd in the coming months I'll try to find some of the pirates of 31 3 end of the year to get their hands on this. without a "fixed" wood, it won't work.

  • T530; default values of brightness to the max

I had the older thinkpads in the past, and when you change the brightness settings, it saves between sessions and the bios...

But with my new t530, if I change the low brightness in windows and reboot, it goes back to max.

Is it possible that I can change this behavior?

You can not, the BIOS doesn't have a level of brightness settings. They are generally max because info should be considered. If she was the min you would never be able to read the screen and get back in good it. The keyboard and operating systems software has control of the level after it starts.

Call the customer service and order a new keyboard. It is simple to replace. In the meantime, use an external keyboard.

Expect to stay enemy to take a few hours and then get promises that may or may not be maintained.

The support page is not down: it is only in a "very slow" cyclical time that's happened since mid-2009. Wait til Win8 came out to see the crash site.

  • T530, not replaceable hard drive (no screws!)

I just got a Thinkpad T530, and the first thing I wanted to do is placed in an old hard drive. It is usually * incredible * easy to do on any computer, and I expected to be especially true in a lenovo.

It seems that my computer missing a screw, or the user's guide is incorrect. Incidentally, very frustrating:

The user guide T530 says that you remove the screws located here:

But on my computer, it has no screws here! I tried to remove all the screws in the vicinity and the plate did not move, and it's obviously anchored at this time:

Lenovo sent me the wrong T530 by mistake while I have another that I am about to return, and that there is no a screw here either. When you lift up on the keyboard at the top, it is obvious that the HD is located in this area (but it is not accessible from the top)

I've hunted all around the internet and I see someone complaining about this, but I have 2 computers with the same thing. Is it a defect? Am totally missed something? It's been 2 months to try to move things with lenovo and it is super annoying. I would appreciate any advice on how to talk about HD on this.

  • T530 number Pad feature?

My apologies in advance if this has already been addressed - I looked for a solution but have been unable to find one. If you know a place where a solution to my problem has already been posted, please let me know.

One thing that I always found frustrating on my Windows 7 T530, (which is almost perfect for me in all other respects) is its apparent lack of a numeric keypad. I use a lot of alt codes for typing non-standard characters, and these codes only work when typed through the digital button - not through the line near the top of the keyboard. I've experimented with passing my keyboard at the disposal of the US International, but this broke some keyboard shortcuts that I use very often (it is a bit heavy in general) so I've found it to be a satisfactory solution.

Is it possible to get feature number pad on a T530 short of attaching an external keyboard? It is painful to have to manually copy / paste special characters out-of-Character Map whenver I am writing in languages that use of accents. I count myself among those who desire that Lenovo had stuck with the old rather than the new ones chiclet laptop keyboards and it is one of the main reasons why. If I could get the numeric keypad works on this thing, then I'd be overjoyed. Thanks in advance.

    For Windows 7

    Windows on-screen keyboard

Or you can right-click anywhere in your taskbar-> toolbars-> select Tablet PC Input Panel.

Then you just click the Tablet icon in your taskbar to display the screen keyboard on.

    For Windows 8

Right click anywhere on your taskbar-> Toolbars-> select touchpad.

Click the icon of the little keyboard on your taskbar to display the screen keyboard on.

    Simple.

  • IOS 10 keyboard bug

There is a bug at the moment where the software keyboard when my iPad Pro running the latest iOS (from today 06/10/16) displayed in the bad sense.  It happens as follows:

I'm holding the iPad in Vertical Mode (Home button down) and I'm on the home page of apps.

I pull down from the center of the screen to access frequently used applications.

As soon as these applications appear that the software keyboard appears also, but in fashion landscape on the left side of the screen. It crashes me out to make a choice of app and I have to tilt the iPad to type the first letters of a couple of my app type laterally in the wrong way.

Expected behavior: in a vertical position the keyboard should be popping up by underneath the screen, applications frequently used at the top of the screen and there is no occlusion.

If someone has corrected it somewhere, I'm all ears, but I expect that what needs to be fixed with some magical-spackle code.

    Thank you all!

Hello. You have restarted your iPad since the last update? Here's how

    1. Press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn off your device completely off.
    3. Once the device turns off, press and hold the sleep/wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

What you describe works normally for me on iPad Air with iOS 10.0.2, so it looks just a curiosity for you. By the way, is your Pro model 9.7 to 12.9 inches?

  • Problem starting el capitan (sierra) - built-in keyboard and the mouse do not respond

    Hello

I have a 2015 macbook pro (SSD 256, 16 GB of RAM last el capitan updated) with a wired problem.

I use it mainly to a cinema monitor and I use wireless keyboard and mouse (office installation program), and of course as a stand-alone laptop when I'm not at my desk.

When I put the laptop to sleep, everything works fine when I wake up.

but, if I'm away from the office and I have to restart my laptop, here is the problem.

The boot process is very very slow, there is no edge, and when I finally have the screen to unlock the safe, the keyboard and the touchpad do not react. Actually, that's not exactly true, they are so slow that they are unusable and get caught quickly, all gel. So I can't unlock and complete the boot. My laptop is unusable ;-(

At this point, I get a message that if I forgot my password I just need to reboot by pressing the power button, and I'll be able to reset it.

When I do this and aprΦs the dΘmarrage that more slowly than usual but ok, I get another screen with several options of problem solving. One of them is "keyboard not responding do not. When choosing this one, it asks if you want to remove safe. I tried and everything was back to normal.

later, I delivered safe and I had the same problem again. I did the thing to be able to restart again and improved to sierra in the hope that it would disappear. However, the problem is still there.

I thought I could try to restart my office to see if my keyboard and wireless mouse would still work. Indeed, even if responsiveness was not normal, I could unlock and fill the chest.

I have the impression that my laptop always "believe" it is on my desk, linked to my screen (probably the reason why I don't hear the Bell) and to my wireless K & M.

It's really annoying and I hope someone has a solution.

    Thank you very much

    best,

    Alex

I'm having a similar problem with macOS Sierra which I didn't have with El Capitan.  I can possibly move the cursor on the power button and turn off (no), but I must be patient because the keyboard and trackpad are only for a fraction of a second, which only allows me to move the mouse slightly.  After he stop and start back up, everything is perfect until I tried another reboot, and then I'm back to the beginning.

I tried to reinstall the operating system, reset the SMC, resetting the NVRAM, reboot in SafeMode... nothing worked so far.
