T5i Canon

I bought a Canon T5i and my 10 items I cannot upload RAW photos.  I have update my version.

The T5i did not support RAW up to version 7.4. 10 items delivered with the version 6.4.1 and has been updated to version 6.7.

Your choice is to move to the less 11 items or use the free DNG Converter.

I recently got a new T5i cannon. I was also getting a new hard drive for my Mac, it came with Yosemeti on this issue.  I'm unable to open RAW photos in my PS CS4.  I downloaded the 7.4 update, but it still doesn't work.  Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, photoshop cs4 allows only upward to camera raw 5.7, so you can use the 8.7 dng converter to convert the best T5i canon dng files that photoshop cs4 should then open.

  • iMovie does not see my canon for importing t5i

How to import video from my canon t5i to iMovie?  Video past in Photos.

Since your videos from Canon are imported into Photos then use the photo library in iMovie to bring them into iMovie. The photo library should appear in the left column of the iMovie window. Click on it and in the top of the window in the menu drop down select Albums. Which should reveal your videos stored in the pictures. Scroll down to find the ones you are looking for.

  • Canon t5I - please help with what memory cards to use - was sold a UHS 700 x that says 120 MB/sec!

EXACTLY what the memory card should I use in a new Canon Rebel T5i - there are 'TOO MANY TIPS'!

I have a SanDisk I was going to use who says SDHC - UHS-1 16 GB up to 80 MB/sec 533 x.  I have another who said professional UHS 700 X - Ultra HD 4 K - 120 b/sec!   I DO NOT pull any clip or RAW... just regular shots, family, moving animals, jpegs.

Can I use those who say 40-45 MG/S?  You can use a card of memory TOO QUICKLY and it can DAMAGE your camera, if you do?  I have a lot to learn for sure.  Thank you.

SDHC 16 GB is fine for your use.

More fast/more high capacity card will not damage the camera.

I have two questions, but this is the first part. I am seeking for my lenses t5 uv filters ensure their safety. I'm pretty sure that a 58mm uv lens will fit on my canon but I want to double check before I have something to order online and it will be a hassle to return. More for the discriptions say for t4i t5i and so forth, but do not say t5, a uv filter sink a t5i fit a t5.

One of my cameras is a SLR Canon t70 of 1984, I have two lenses for this camera. Just out of curiosity can take the old leneses on a newer body. Somehow now the answer, I want to know if there is a way, it is possible, if there is an adapter of all kinds. It's just for a lot of money to develop the film

The 58mm is the size of your filter (diameter).  Two of these lenses use a 58mm filter.  If a filter 58mm fits two lenses.

  • IR remote control Canon T5i smartphone app

Hello! I tried two apps on Google Play, DSLR Remote and Remote camera apps. However, I can't make them work with my Canon T5i for remote control for shutter / timer.  This will be incredibly useful if it can work. Can anyone help? Thank you.

I use Remote Camera c. 2.3.2 from the play of Google on my Galaxy Note 4. It has manual release, noise trigger and trigger the timer/bulb. It works fine for me! Just be sure to turn on your camera as described in the previous post. Also make sure that you point the issuer directly to your camera, because it requires line of sight to operate correctly.

  • Canon t5i lcd turns off after taking pictures

I just got my Canon T5i... I noticed that the LCD screen turns off sometimes after taking photos or videos. I don't know why... I did not press the "info" button and it will not turn back even if I press the shutter button to halfway... I know that the camera is still on though because if I press on the screen it will take a picture and this picture is stored on the card (after that I turned off the camera completely and wait a few minutes and turn it back on)...

When the LCD is turned off, I can't get it on... I will touch the screen and try to press the display button to see photos, but it will start...

and Yes, I disabled the auto lcd off etc...

Here is a little video I made sure to show you what I saw. http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=TroZa5xLduM

Should I have a defective camera?

I noticed in the video that she has Lieview, take a picture and then the picture does not appear, and there is more no Liveview display.  She then press the Liveview button and nothing happens. There's no other option I can think of that allows you to turn off the LCD screen back when you're in Liveview. That tells me that the device is defective.

  • Canon t5i, 50mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.8?

Hey guys im new SLR digital. I recently bought my Canon Rebel t5i with the 18-135mm lens. Now, I want to upgrade a little to take pictures of family, etc.. I don't have to buy the 50mm f1.4 or the 85mm 1.8 Please help.

I think you'll like both... a 29mm lens provides a 'normal' angle of view (neither wide nor TV)... so the two are a bit in the TV category.  The 85mm will be closer to the point where you need to go back further to frame a shot and for use indoors, it may be narrower than what you want.  Both offer a very nice quality to the blurred background.

A 85mm will provide liked blur the same... opening value but the 50mm will be a little more versatile for indoor use (since you do not going back quite so far in order to frame the shot.)

You can go to pixelpeeper.com to draw the sample images (they index Flickr images as long as the image has EXIF data camera & lens in there).

You could also rent to see than what you prefer.

  • My files Canon T5i raw is not recognized?

    I get this message:

Currently I have Photoshop 5.1 and read my FIRST files Canon T5i, although that will not read my previous Canon Rebel. I have to update? That will burn me as I spend a lot of money for the new camera. Is there a work around for my RAW files come? Thanks for all your support and suggestions.

Currently I have Photoshop 5.1 and will not read my RAW of Canon T5i files.

I assume you are talking about Photoshop CS5.1?

    Your options:

    1. Pay for upgrade to CS6
    2. Buy Photoshop Elements 13

  • Will be 5 d Mark III and T5, T5i and T6i rebel use the same lenses

I have the 5 d Mark III and some big L series lenses. I'll buy a rebel for my GF to learn photography. My lenses will work for her T5, T5i or T6i?

    Thank you!

Yes - but it doesn't work the other way around.

Canon EOS "EF" series lenses (including all your 'L' series lenses) will work on ANY body camera Canon EOS Digital or analogue, and regardless of whether a digital camera has a sensor size full frame (like the 5 d which has a sensor the same size as a 35 mm film negative) or a crop-frame camera (as the series body rebels who use the size of the) sensor 'APS - C' which is a bit smaller.)

But suppose you get your GF body rebel... it'll come with a "kit" lens (usually this kit lens is the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II or EF - S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM).  But that goal is an EF-S lens.  The image that projects of the lens in the camera body is large enough to fill the surface of the sensor to a corner to for an APS - C sensor... but it is NOT an image large enough to cover the size of a sensor full-frame corner.  Advantage of the EF-S-objectives, is that they can produce a high quality image that does not need more large than an EF lens, and because of this, they are able to reduce the manufacturing cost of the lens and THIS means that the lens can be offered at a lower price than the somewhat similar focal ranges EF lenses.

These objectives EF-S can be used on any digital camera Canon EOS which has a sensor size 'APS - C' (any body of the rebel, also all the 20 d with 70 d series), as well as the 7 d bodies but may not be used on any body of the camera which uses a larger sensor (any body standard standard 6 d or 1 d 5 d requires "EF" lenses).

Specialty lenses like the tilt-shift (TS-E) and the extreme (MP-E) macrophoto lens can be used on any EOS body (just like the objectives EF.)

  • Unable to trigger the nissin Di622 flash Canon 430ex II

My gear is Canon T1i camera, flash for Canon 430ex ii, flash Nissin Di622 (1st model) and radio trigger CowboyStudio (I don't remember the model).

The 430 in ettl mode & on the camera will trigger the camera 622. The pop-up flash will trigger the camera 622. The 430 on camera & manual mode will not trigger the 622 camera and the camera 430 will not trigger the 622 in any mode.

The radio trigger fires the camera 430. I want to trigger the camera 430 with the radio and have the 430 then trigger the 622. Is there a way to do this?

I thought that most of the flash units can be triggered by a Flash of light such as the pop up flash. I wouldn't be able to trigger the 430 (in all modes) with the pop-up flash?

No, some Nikon and other 3rd party flashes can be triggered with a simple flash, but not Canon.   Your 430EX II won't work as a "slave" If you have a 'master' that uses the system of Canon wireless. Slave Flash gun can operate using coded light signals of the "master" flash Cannon

Some newer Canon cameras have a built-in pop-up flash that can act as a "master" of Canon, but your T1i does not work like that. Canon cameras that will make this are the T3i, T4i, T5i, 7 d, 60 d, or 70 d.

You can also buy a Canon flash which can be used on your T1i and acts as a "master".  It's the Canon 550EX, 580EX, 580EX II and 600EX-RT. The cheapest Canon ST - E2, which can also act as master but does not have a Flash.

There are also a few 3rd party flashes as Yongnuo, Nissin and Metz who can also work as 'master' using the gun system.

  • New T5i w / 18mm to 135mm lens Pop Up flash question?

    Hi all:

I just got my new T5i rebel with the 18mm to 135 mm lens. I use a filter UV Polaroid and lens hood EW-73 b. I take excellent photos, but I wonder if it is having a problem.

My problem is the sometimes the flash will pop up and flash in full sun. It can be the focal distance at the time. The T4i there this problem or is it a problem?

Canon SureShot 5; New on DSRL rebel T5i

    Hi hsbn:

Tthank you for the answer. In fact, I was in the landscape or fully automatic firing Mode. One of the shots I was in one of the two formentioned mode, at 135 mm with a white wall on my left. In another shot, I took another shot in the open landscape and the flash popped up. I'll try again this weekend and try the different modes and I get results. And thank you, I have always appreciated the assistance.

  • T5i - more than incremental ISO settings

    Hello

I just got the T5i. ISO settings are not very progressive. Is there a way to get more integrated ISO settings? Should I be Flash the firmware?

    Thank you

    MrMyth

I doubt there is a firmware, Canon has not intentionally put in the incremental ISOs.  You can try the magic lantern if you really want the ISO intermediary.  I don't know if there is a stable for the T5i or wrong ML.

However, you can do the research on ISO incremental, it's not all it's cracked up to to be.  Markers + 1/3 stop is actually just the full ISO (for example 100) put together a third stop (e.g. 125) via an amplifier and is in fact more noisy than the next point (e.g. 200).  Things get complicated from there... technically 160 is cleaner than 100, but you lose some DR on top.  It is similar to expose to the right. I played around with it for awhile on my D 6, and then decided to just full tiered and worry about the hassle now.

  • How can I activate the infrared remote on my Canon Rebel T5 trigger

My awesome wife bought me a starter kit complete with a Canon Rebel T5 (not a T5i) for my birthday... I'm so happy! In the starter kit is an infrared remote that looks like this.

It is said that I just need to set my camera to accept a remote trigger in order to use this remote control. But I can't for the life of me find! I tried searching google but whenever I type anything remotely (no pun intended) with Canon Rebel, I get pages and pages of places to buy an and not a lot of information on how to use one.

    Thanks for your time!

    Well Yes, no IR sorry
