I had problems with my laptop screen. When I turn on the computer of his fine, but when I log on the screen has turned 90 degrees to the left. This means that I have to turn your head to the left so that I can read on the screen. This is the entire screen as well (so everything is on the side!)

Any suggestions?

  • T61 button on-screen display problems

Hello, I had a problem with my T61 and I was wondering if someone here could help me. My laptop recently crashed, having the blue screen on startup, what reinstall me Windows Vista again and everything. I managed to recover all my files and everything seems to be back to normal with the exception of a few things. First thing that annoys me the most is that whenever I use my volume buttons on the keyboard, the volume up and down works but does not appear in green text, as before, say what volume number. In addition, my silence affects only the volume mute but not to reactivate the volume later. As the top and down the volume buttons, shortcut keys Fn + Home and Fn + end to increase or decrease the brightness of the screen work, but do not display the text on the green screen. Another problem I have is that my blue ThinkVantage button next to the volume buttons does nothing. Finally, my biggest battery icon appearing any more in the toolbar to the left of the clock and icons of small image next to the clock. I hope that these problems can be solved through these forums and I thank very you much for your help!

Sweet, I got it fixed. I thought I ran an update of the system already but obviously not. Thanks for your help!

  • T61 Nvidia Quadro NVS 140 M... garbled display problem!

I have a T61 (bought in August 2007) with Nvidia Quadro NVS 140 M graphics card. I still have problems to display with the screen all of a sudden get green (?). When restarted, the BIOS itself shows a corrupted image (screen half blue, half red) and some random characters. This only happens if I use the PC for 15 minutes. Once he gets a chance to cool down, it goes back to normal working conditions.

My warranty expired about a month ago and since I see this problem. Can anyone suggest what could go wrong.

    Thank you.

  • Display of 7663-CTO T61 turns bad on windows XP

Hello, I work for a school and we have about 160 T61s updated from vista to XP which just went to our first year 2 days ago. So far I have had 3 children experience display problems. The resolution is low and the colors are going to like 16-bit color. Reset will not solve it.

I can solve this instance of number by removing the display from the device manager driver, then restart. This makes the normal screen and the new device Wizard appears. I can then proceed to reinstall the display driver, and all is well.

    Everyone knows about this problem?

    It's a temporary solution.

The real difficulty finished being updated the driver of power manager.

  • T61 Power Management blue screens because of display driver

I recently move my T61 from Win XP to Win 7 32 bit.  I've got intel onboard video card.  After installing Windows, I went to the page of the Lenovo driver and installed 32-bit drivers.  Now when I pull the power cord from the power supply to battery, my T61 flashes the time screen 5 or 6 and then blue screens.  Just before the blue projection, there is a popup in the system tray that the display driver stopped responding.

The problem doesn't show up if I stay in battery mode, nor does it when I plug in the AC power.  Its just goes the power supply battery but its pretty consistent.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Think I have this problem. Uninstalled the display drivers intel and lenovo and restarted. Then let win 7 update find new display driver from the windows update server. Screen flashing when switching between profiles of power now and don't has no blue screened in 3 days... fingers crossed...

  • The surveillance T61 Nvidia display driver 2147213312 installation error

    Hello

I just downloaded latest driver Nvidia for the T61.

But how when I try to install make sure monitoring PC on line how I get error 2147213312.

Older version of the driver work fine without error when installing this way.

Why I need to install the drivers in this way, it is only to use the Altiris deployment solution to install the drivers for new computers.

I found the solution to this, but this must be done by specialist driver Lenovo.

DoInstall fails to launch the installer in Silent Mode Description: If you use DoInstall with the "-s" command line parameter to start an installation of the child in silent mode, it will fail with the error code:2147213312. However, launches the installation of the child in normal mode with the empty command line string works as expected. Workarounds: remove all the dialog boxes and UI for the installation of the child, or use LaunchAppAndWait to run Setup of the child. Status: InstallShield confirmed that it is a bug in 6.03 IS.
FIXED in IS 6.10. http://www.installsite.org/pages/en/bugs_is60.htm someone knows alternatives to install this driver of surveillance?

    Found the solution for myself.

Seems that this latest version of the nvidia driver is made a different version of installshield.

Laters driver install if you try to install it as \\server\drivers\nvidia\setup.exe - n s fron network path

You need to make the script first copies the files to the local disk and then install it like this:

    XCOPY /S "\\server\drivers\nvidia\*.*" c:\drivers\nvidia\ /Y

    c:\drivers\nvidia\setup.exe - n s

I hope this helps someone else who is using altiris or similar.

  • On 420 versus T61 14 "widescreen display size? (Is the 520 more like my old t61?)

I had a Thinkpad T61 14 "widescreen notebook for about 4 years. I really liked, and the size of the computer was ideal for me - small enough that I can use it on a plane, but a fairly big screen that I don't feel too cramped.

The t61 began to die, so I thought it seemed like a good time to replace it with a new thinkpad. I ordered a T420, happened today.

I was really surprised and disappointed to see that while the machine itself seems to be of similar size, the screen seems to be a little less good: about the same width, but between 1/2 and 3/4 inches less height. I foolishly thought that this laptop would have the same size as my old screen.

Is it a modification of the design of the older systems?

I'm curious: is there a model that is more comparable to the dimensions of my old T61? Is the 520 more close to these dimensions? Or is it a computer physically more grand/more heavy than a 14 "T61? I would rather not a computer who is heaver than my old T61, and I prefer not to have a computer that is more difficult to exploit in a tray of aircraft seats.

    Suggestions appreciated!

screen went from 4:3,-> 16:10-> 16:9, so there is a change of dimension of the T61 on the T420.

T520 is a laptop 15.6-inch similar to T61 15.4-inch wide screen, but it loses also a few height due to the change in dimension.

T420 is heavier then the T61. If you want something lighter than the GET T61 the T420s, which is a model thin and only weighs 2 kg or there is everything.

  • Lenovo t61 no display, only if I connect an external monitor.

I started using my lenovo with a second screen, but then after a few days the main screen of my laptop has stopped working, and I can use it only to the secondary monitor. If I put windows 'Add' screens and I close and open the laptop, for about 1 second I can see some images, but the resolution does not, the colors are a strange shade of blue, and there are horizontal lines on the screen. Then it goes black again.

I assumed it was a GPU problem, maybe overheating? But then I thought well, the secondary monitor works, so maybe it's just a display problem.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I've had this laptop second hand so I have no warranty, I want to rule out any software problem before buying new pieces or even a new laptop.

    Thank you!

  • Lenovo T61 cannot turn on after short circuit

    Dear Sir/Madam

I saw a low battery warning displayed on my lenovo t61, quickly, I plugged an ac cable while the power was on. As a result short circuit, no longer works.

I tried the trick after pressing 10 times on the power switch. He worked, prompted me to bios settings. Once restarted in windows screen, the battery icon showed very low before he past.

I can't charge my battery even, I used a newly purchased AC adapter. Using an ac adapter without battery inserted also fail to power on. Please help me.

    Hi bert958,

Sounds like a motherboard, probably a dead fuse problem.

But because the fuses are soldered, you will need a new motherboard unless you can fix it yourself.

  • T61 wireless hardware or software failure?

When I finally used (in September), my wireless on this old T61 (6459-CTO) worked perfectly, but tonight I can't even view available networks. I know that my local network wi - fi doesn't work because the other devices can connect, but cannot see it or other networks of neighbourhood on this ThinkPad notebook. Suits the list of networks available in that it displays a message «Windows cannot configure this wireless...» "I am running Windows XP SP3, the machine is vintage 2008, ipconfig/all said the wireless card is a 11 a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter, Device Manager shows the device works correctly, hardware and software-defined radio (ThinkVantage) switches are on, and the wi - fi on the front panel led is bright and blinking occasionally. There were a few Microsoft Updates since wi - fi last worked, but nothing has changed to my knowledge. How can I determine if it is a software or a hardware problem? Thanks in advance - JCW2

Download and burn a 'live' DVD in Linux, like mint and boot from it.

If you are able to connect wireless here, the question is within Windows.

If this is not the case, there is a problem with the hardware somewhere.

  • T61 screen becomes very dark

I had this T61 for almost 6 years. Now, I turn on the laptop, the screen is very dark and nothing is displayed. But when I close the screen and open again, the screen starts to work with the color red on bottom. This will keep a few seconds, then it flashes and go dark again. Meanwhile, the laptop will automatically transfer mode 'sleep'. Can someone give me some suggestions on what do I do please?

    Thank you very much

    Welcome to the forum!

The backlight (CCFL) in your screen is on its last leg, the reddish color is a dead giveaway.

Your T61 needs a new LCD.

  • T61 does not recognize carpets * a Multidrive UJ-862

    Hello

I have had problems recently with the backup software fill my hard drive. The person (in my company) and I'm troubleshooting that solved but immediately after, the CD/DVD drive has ceased to exist in my computer. I think that we have deleted something. Of course, we have also removed the recovery files so I'm unable to use to recover the system.

In the Device Manager under CD/DVD-ROM readers, I don't see the generic driver that I see to my colleague T61. I don't see that the driver UJ-862 has failed.

I tried the following things without result:

"Update driver", enable/disable, uninstall driver, removed the drive and re-installed, installed another (Sony) drive since an other T61, Windows update, downloaded and tried to load the updated drivers from the Support and downloads site. This makes the floppy image. He started, questioned the CD player and determined that I already had the current driver and did not update. In my view, this means that the generic driver must be loaded. My system is provided and must be shipped back to be fixed. I try to avoid this problem by losing the computer is way more hassle to do not have a CD/DVD drive. The Properties dialog box displays the following error when I select the device. "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
