T61 Nvidia Quadro NVS 140 M... garbled display problem!

I have a T61 (bought in August 2007) with Nvidia Quadro NVS 140 M graphics card. I still have problems to display with the screen all of a sudden get green (?). When restarted, the BIOS itself shows a corrupted image (screen half blue, half red) and some random characters. This only happens if I use the PC for 15 minutes. Once he gets a chance to cool down, it goes back to normal working conditions.

My warranty expired about a month ago and since I see this problem. Can anyone suggest what could go wrong.

Thank you.

    Hi all

Last year (Apr 2008), I brought a lenovo R61i model 774223A. Last March, suddenly it unresponsive and displays a garbled screen as soon as I switch on the device. Fortunately, I still have 5 days of warranty left and he rushed at his service centre. Surprisingly, after 3 days, they notified me that the device is repaired with its motherboard replaced.

Unfortunately, the problem is back again in JUNE! What is going on!?? y at - it a hidden defect with this model? I've seen similar problems happening in T61 users with the same NVS140M video card. We need answers Lenovo! • good native resolution with screen Samsung on T61 & Quadro NVS 140 m

I can't configure my external monitor at its native resolution of 1680 x 1050. When I do it, it cuts one side or the other with black bands.

    I am on a Thinkpad T61 with 1440 x 900.

The Samsung 2253bw may show 1440 very well. But 1680 x 1050 native res.

NVIDIA said that the Quadro nvs 140 m can display 1680 x 1050.

I tried just using the Nvidia Control Panel and the Thinkpad presentation Director. If I change the resolution from the Vista Control Panel, I actually get a crisper (no scaling) display but at a small size with a black band around.

    Any suggestions?
    Thank you...

  • Problem resolution DVI - nVidia Quadro NVS 120 M

    Hello

I recently bought a Philips monitor LCD flat screen 220BW8 for use with my laptop Latitude D820 Windows XP with nVidia Quadro NVS 120 M (256 MB) graphics card. It works fine in VGA mode, but I have the weirdest problem when I try to use a DVI connection:

The maximum screen resolution is 1650 x 1080. When I put the screen (by using the display settings in Windows) to this resolution and use a DVI display connection complains I should use 1650 x 1080 instead of 1650 x 1200. Indeed, the display shown is larger than the screen and pans when I move the cursor to the edge of the screen, but Windows reports that the resolution is 1650 x 1080 (while, again, the monitor reported that the resolution is 1650 x 1200).

When I watch carefully the dual link DVI - D cable I bought with the monitor, he said "resolution 1600 x 1200 and older" (I have not noticed until that moment). Now, I tried another dual link cable as well as a single link cable. Neither cable resolves the issue. I still can not 1650 x 1080 resolution on the screen even if I ask for it in Windows.

No one knows what might solve this problem?

  • Tecra M9: When a driver WHQL XP for NVidia Quadro NVS 130 M will be available

    Hello

I am trying to downgrade a Tecra M9 from Vista to Windows XP and I want to know when a driver WHQL for NVidia Quadro NVS 130 M will be released because the latest version from the support CD is a beta version and is not WHQL.

    Thank you very much

But - this important if the driver passed whql? In my opinion NO, because this thing whql is a pure invention of microsoft. If I were you I would install that drivers matter so certified or not and if you really have problems, then you can always give some feedback.

By the way: where sought pilots?

  • nVidia Quadro NVS 135 M Crash

Hello. My Dell Latitude D630 has recently recorded some video / display problems.
I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problems I have.

I've also updated the drivers for BIOS and video... Maybe it's a hardware problem?

    Any suggestions?

Yes, there is a version with Intel video - to use it, you also need a new heat sink (nVidia is not Intel-video board).

  • Refresh rate of Quadro NVS 140 for external monitor

I absolutely have to change on my external monitor refresh rate. I dropped the laptop this morning and broke the LCD screen, so I plugged an old maryvonne 17F3. I can't change the refresh rate and it flickers badly. Technical support eMachines stated that the refresh rate is controlled by the video card and that no driver is required for their monitor (as they have not first: smileysurprised :).) So how can I change the refresh rate? I have the latest Dell drivers for my 830 latitude.

    Thank you.

  • dc7900 + Quadro NVS 290 works do not at all

    Hello

I am trying to install a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290 in my dc7900 SFF (Vista 32).

When I put the card in the slot, I have not more active screen. The screen remains black and the rest led orange (not green), as if the PC is turned off. I reconnected the display on the VGA output, and it's the same thing.

It looks like the card in the slot turns off the normal VGA output (it is what it is supposed to do). But none of the output on my cable in a response. Because I do not see anything, I can't act on the drivers or BIOS or...

If I take the card once again, everything is back to normal.

    Anyone got an idea?

    Thank you.

    Olivier

Try to go into the BIOS first and see if there is an option for PCI-e graphics. Change first, close, install card, then press start.

    See you soon,.

  • OPTIPLEX GX620 using NVIDIA Quadro NVS450

After I installed a Nvidia Quadro NVS 450 HP in my OPtiplex 620, I get the message "Error initializing PCI Express 1 slot".

The error is displayed on a monitor connected to the video port on the system.

I don't know if there is a problem of compatibility between the card and the PC, or if the card is faulty.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Updated the BIOS to A11 (or at least A8) seems to be the solution.

  • T61 - RC of Windows 7 drivers nVidia Quadro...?

    Hello

I was wondering if someone can help me with drivers for nVIDIA Quadro NVS140M on Windows 7 (64 bit)?

I'm running a T61 and recently upgrade to Windows 7 RC to see that my graphics card drivers are not available.

I visited the nVidia site and there is a footnote before download drivers, who say "Lenovo user please contact OEM.

Then, I went on the website of Lenovo and sought intensively without result.

Can someone tell me if there are drivers available and/or possible workaround?

    Thanks in advance...

I have Windows 7 RC(64 bit) running on my T61 with 140 M also.  The driver works perfectly.  Have you tried running Windows update?

  • Dell Nvidia Quadro 600 reference - adapter provided by Dell dongle (display port > DVI) is missing entries

A puzzle - DP > DVI adapter dongle supplied with my refurb Precision T3500 is absent from the entries on the side of DVI. [Both the bag of dongle and the dongle have labels with "DP/N 023NVR" and "CN-023NVR-48570-22M-039X-A00"]

The card is Nvidia Quadro 600 Dell w / 1 DVI port and 1 DP.

I want to go to DP to VGA *... so I need a second adapter grafted on the dongle from Dell.

Missing entries are above and below the long horizontal (spade) of entry. All my DVI > VGA adapters have 2 tiny over the shovel and 2 pins below.

The DVI port on the card fits those 4 pins.

    The dongle does not work.

Can I just use the hot pin (heat a PIN and create holes) approach... or DVI use these 4 connections?

If the latter, why NOT the adapter address these connections?

    __________

    * Yes, I keep autour monitors until they die - a strategy to continue to pay the mortgage

If you have Display Port, then you can get a Display port to VGA.

But they tend to be expensive sometimes more expensive than another monitor that is DVI or VGA vs HDMI

  • NVIDIA Quadro 1000 M graphic appearing is not under ThinkVantage system information

I just got a W520, and I wonder why in "Multimedia" in the information system of ThinkVantage the Nvidia Quadro 1000 M card graphic is not appear. Maybe it's not supposed to. All that I see listed is 'Video card - Intel(r) HD Graphics Family', ' display - ThinkPad display 1600 x 900 ", and" sound card...»» "Not sure why Nvidia would not have shown here.

because there are two gpu in your system, when you are not using anything intensive GPU that it switches to gpu intel HD and if you do 3D, games, or anything that requires the most powerful GPU, then your GPU Nvidia comes into play.

You can switch to the discrete gpu under the menu of the bios (under the screen).
