T61 is unable to sleep extended when the cover closed

ThinkPad T61
7658 CTO
T9300
Windows XP SP3

This machine fails to Hibernate when closing the lid or pressing Fn - F12. "Preparation for the hibernation" appears on the screen indefinitely. I need to hold down the stop button to stop.

This happens usually after I started the machine on battery and then switched on the power after receiving the warning that the battery is empty.

I upgraded manually Power Management driver support for the version 1.65.05.21 to 1.66.0.2. For some reason, that this later version is not available when I use the update system.

I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks for the suggestion. I see the following application error in the log:

Failing application rundll32.exe, version 5.1.2600.5512, failing pwrmgrtr.dll module, version 1.0.0.0, address failure 0x0008364e.

I don't know if it's relevant, but I noticed green horizontal battery charge like status bar icon disappears bar when I restart after happening tool. On some occasions, the smaller blue vertical icon disappears also. Restart again solves this problem.

  • No standby extended when the cover closed on Satellite A40

    Hello

    I'm new to this forum and hope someone can be able to help.
    My Satellite A40 suffered a hard drive failure and I installed a new drive and to install Windows XP on drive.

    Everything works well except for the shares when the lid is closed.
    Blanks the screen but Windows continues to operate.

    I installed the power saver Tosiba, however, options drop-down menu in the configuration, (when I close the lid) don't box display only no Action. It's the same thing in Windows Power Options.

    Of course the lid closed sensor works, but I am at a loss as to where other options are passed in the Toshibe Power Saver and Windows Power Options Properties.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

    I think that the Hibernate mode is not enabled:
    Go to start? Settings? Control Panel. Make sure you have open Classic view, and then open Power Options
    In the properties of Power Options window, chose the last tab called Hibernate.

    If you are not able to see the Hibernate tab, and then Hibernate is probably not supported on your laptop. But if its visible, so you must check the option called activate the hibernation

    Click on apply or OK, and then restart Windows XP

  • Frozen when the cover closed

    My laptop is Win8.1, I put it to do nothing when the lid is closed and the power options are set to stay alive.
    I close the lid of the laptop and go to work. At work, I have TeamViewer on my laptop but I can't control Firefox (I can control the rest of the operating system).
    Today, I left my laptop open and now to work, I have a total control of Firefox, but also everything else.
    Its like Firefox crashes with closed lid switch

    You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you will need to close and restart Firefox).

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.
  • Cannot cancel the option "sleep when the cover closed.

    I often use my laptop with a TV or a projector.  However, if I close the lid of the laptop goes into sleep mode.  I can't change the setting in power options because it is grayed out.  I don't want my phone open if I use another monitor.

    System:, computer laptop Samsung NP-RF511 running Windows 7 SP1

    Go to the start menu, all programs, files from Samsung.

    Open Fast Start and disable it.  If there is no control to turn off then just close it and uninstall completely in control panel, programs & features.

    You will have complete control over your power options.

    There will be no side effects to remove this "utility" useless because it doesn't do anything for you that you can't do yourself.

  • Light bar will not move from the Park position when the cover flat is in place.

    I need to copy a piece of a book of music, mark it for repetition.  The book is thick enough that I must leave the cover upward.  The first 6 copied pages OK, but now all I get is a page of alll-gray.  The light bar doesn't move; It sounds like it is stuck, but only when the cover is in place.  The cover down (copy of one sheet), it works fine.

    I thought about it!  The diference between copies who worked and those who did not was the size of the paper that I used to hide the unwanted materials.  For those who worked, the sheet lying on the light bar.

    Apparently the light bar requires a white surface facing the flat, or it won't work.

  • Vista on the XPS M1330 laptop lost wireless when the lid closed (using the external monitor)

    Hello

    I bought an external monitor/keyboard/mouse for my laptop XPS M1330 (connection of the monitor via a HDMI to DVI cable).  However as soon as the lid is closed the wireless network stops working - opening the lid immediately launches the application again.  A network through a physical cable connection works with the closing of the cover.  Note, the network remains connected (or at least is always intended to be connected) it has not sent or received no information, while the lid is closed.

    XPS M1330 laptop under Vista Home Premium SP1 - Wireless card is Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG running the latest drivers 11.5.0.32.

    Power options are obviously set to shut down the computer laptop shut down, goes to stand by, or go into hybernation when the lid is closed... it is set to 'status quo '.  The properties of the wireless card has the "Ad hoc power management" disabled and the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" unchecked.

    When the cover is opened, the monitor takes the maximum size of the screen of the laptop, which goes against the objective set for the monitor in the first place.

    (As a side note, the laptop also refused to work with a wired via a network connection "homeplug" - even if a hub is placed between the laptop and the homeplug - and I refuse to run a cable between the router as the laptop will be used in another room of the router).

    Is there a solution to this, or is this a problem with Vista?  (Because if this is the case, it is yet another nail in the coffin - and it becomes difficult to find any more room for nails more!  Windows 7 is fast approaching!)

    See you soon,.

    Hi tom101449,

    ·          The WiFi was working fine earlier?

    ·          You did it all change hardware or software on your computer before this problem?

    Method 1

    If the problem occurs after you install the latest drivers Intel PRO / Wireless, you can restore the drivers for the card wireless to the previous version. For more information, see this link.

    Restore a driver with its previous version

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/restore-a-driver-to-its-previous-version

    Method 2

    When you connect to your wireless network, make sure that the option 'Save this network' is checked.

    In addition, right-click on the network > properties, then on the connection tab, check the box that says "connect automatically when this network is in range.

  • Disable the scheduled task when the cover is closed

    Hi all

    I'm working on a project using a Panel (with several buttons) and scheduled tasks.

    The problem is that when I close the Panel, scheduled tasks continue to run in the background.

    So, I wanted to know if there is a way to kill these tasks when the cover is closed.

    Thank you for your time!

    Ekibyo

    I don't think you don't need none of that: what you need to do is store the Panel object in a global variable or a property of your script object and then try to access in the task code.

    So let's say that you store the window in a global variable:

    var MyScriptPanel = this;

    Then in the task code, you should be able to test if the Panel object is still valid:

    try
    {
         // Atempt to access a dummy variable:
         // - will return undefined if the Panel is open
         // - should throw an error if the panel is closed
        MyScriptPanel.a;

         // Do your thing and reschedule the task
    }
    catch (err)
    {
        //    Cancel the task
    }

    Tell me if it works.

    After using many scheduleTask I must say don't really like it: I have not tested in CC, but you may notice in CS4 to 6 that it resets the cursor when the mouse is not moving or ignore some shortcuts keyboard, so I would recommend not not to schedule your task too often, or at least give the user a way to select the frequency of execution.

    EDIT: as your line is not fair:

    panel.onClose = Panel_Close();

    It should be...

    panel.onClose = Panel_Close;

    ... with no '()' so that you copy only the body of the function in the callback to onColse. But I wouldn't rely on the events of the UI for something that should work every time.

  • 7520 Photosmart printer - ink cartridges carriage out when the cover is opened

    The transport does not automatically moves himself posted to the right of the machine when the lid is open.  I'm unable to change empty ink cartridges.  The machine was purchased new April 2013 and is out of warranty.  I turned off and turned it back over 15 min later, no change.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi @Clayball,

    I see that you have problems with the transport not to move to the middle in order to change the cartridges.

    I would like to help.

    I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.
    Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
    Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
    This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

    If the transport does not move freely when grasp the front, it's OK to gently push the carriage to the left or right to move along the rail.
    Fragments of paper can get lodge between the cart and the gas station.  It is important to look at the far right of the printer with a flashlight to make sure there is no debris.

    I handed a document with some measures to try to resolve the transport stall.

    A Message appears 'Transport Jam' on the control panel.

  • T450s stops when the tilt/closed lid

    Hello

    I noticed this problem which looks like 3 weeks ago or not. I am running 64-bit Windows 10 on my T450s and when I start to close the screen, the screen will turn black. The red light at the rear stays on, but as soon as I fully open the screen again, the computer will be turned off completely. My options are set to put the computer in mode standby when the lid is closed, but it can happen when the tilt a few degrees. I'm on BIOS version 1.22.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Normtw,

    The solution that has been provided to this client, Connor_o, was a repair of the equipment. He was released in a TIP Service. I recommend contacting the Lenovo Service and SEO Service TIP # T0110-SF14 / HT101490, as your system will probably require the same repair.

    Hi George,.

    From the description of the problem, it seems that the computer would not wake from sleep when you close the lid and open it again. I understand the inconvenience.

    You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or is it your own installation?

    What to update the display driver? Take a look at the Toshiba page for the new display driver:

    Don t forget to look in the * archives * on Toshiba page because this model is a little older, so all of the downloads are moved in archive.
