• Satellite P300 - is there a keyboard backlight?

  Hi - did anyone know whether Satellite P300 has a back light for the keyboard? I suppose that it is that the keys are black but can't for the life of me how to turn it on. Any help is appreciated.

• ThinkPad Edge E130 keyboard backlight?

  I just got new ThinkPad Edge E130 (3358 - 5DG) as my portable secondary on the side of my trusty W520. When traveling / flying W520 etc is just a little too big, so I wanted to have a smaller unit that I use in these conditions. I know that Edge is not supposed to match the quality of the series W, but wouldn't give a try for this beautiful little unit.

  Everything works pretty well, but the backlit keyboard (backlit keyboard) does not work. When you look at specifications of machine that it is clearly stated that the unit has keyboard backlight (which is a must for me), but there are also contained in fingerprint reader I know with certainty that it does not exist on this machine.   lead_org is right, that your machine has no backlight or think-light.

  The SPACEBAR key is printed with the light on all models.

  HP2000 is a series of many models, what is yours? To turn the keyboard backlight (or back-lit) or off, use one of the following methods depending on your model.

  • Hold down the fn key and press the space bar.
  • Press the F5 key.
  • On some models, the backlight key is f12.

  Dell has now released tool called smbios-keyboard-ctl [1] for configurting keyboard backlighting (timeout and trigger). It is in repository libsmbios [2]. I tried and it works very well.

• Some keyboard shortcuts not working is not in FF27

  Start Toshiba Assist > Optimize > HWSetup > and you will find the keyboard backlight options.
