  • T61 Power Management blue screens because of display driver

I recently move my T61 from Win XP to Win 7 32 bit.  I've got intel onboard video card.  After installing Windows, I went to the page of the Lenovo driver and installed 32-bit drivers.  Now when I pull the power cord from the power supply to battery, my T61 flashes the time screen 5 or 6 and then blue screens.  Just before the blue projection, there is a popup in the system tray that the display driver stopped responding.

The problem doesn't show up if I stay in battery mode, nor does it when I plug in the AC power.  Its just goes the power supply battery but its pretty consistent.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Think I have this problem. Uninstalled the display drivers intel and lenovo and restarted. Then let win 7 update find new display driver from the windows update server. Screen flashing when switching between profiles of power now and don't has no blue screened in 3 days... fingers crossed...

  • Problems with the Power Manager 1.51 new T60 has

I've updated Power manager version 1.51 has and I have problems with the gauge of Power Manager in the task bar. Life remaining battery is not updated once more. • Display of the unavailable wattage with the last set of power manager?

I recently installed the latest version (1.51 (a) the "Power Manager" software ThinkPad on my t400 and it seems now that the show "power when on battery ' display is no longer available? Am I just do not find the option to enable it, or has been deleted completely? The user interface for the power manager seems to have achieved a complete facelift with version so I'm afraid, that it was deleted :-(

Step by step to version 1.47 software gives me the back of the option

Well I am still convinced that the option to display the power on the battery meter has been removed from the user interface, but I found a way to fix

    My problem.

It seems that the following registry controls what is displayed:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IBM\PWRMGR\Data]
    'ShowRemainingTimeGauge' =: 00000002

0 is used to display the "remaining percentage.

1 should display 'time remaining '.

    2 should display 'power '.

After you change the registry, you can restart or turn the gauge in the application of power manager

  • T410 - problem with the gauge of power management (it will not change)

    Hello world

on my T410 2522-EM1 gauge of management of power supply in the taskbar disappeared originally. After you download and install the latest version of the management of the power supply (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70601) and (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4GXPEG) gauge power management driver was back again. But after a while, I noticed that the gauge displays the actual battery charge but showed the load that the battery had started. In the power management utility, the correct values are displayed. I am absolutely no idea on how this could be. I tried to reinstall it, but it doesn't seem to work.

    Everybody suffers the same problems?

    Q - Ball wrote:
    Showed... load it?

Who are you talking about? Are you talking about the time it will take for the battery to run down, or the percentage of the life he left behind?

    ...

It depended on whether the laptop was pluged to the start (battery mode it displays the time and with the plug pluged it shows the percentage)

What I have now is to uninstall everything and after I installed version 3.31... It seems to work.

  • P10 554: problems with display power management

It is not possible to reactivate the display (mouse movements, pressing certain keys, pressing the key) when it is turned off by the power management system. The motherboard has already been replaced by a service representative Toshiba, I even reinstalled the system, but the problem persists. The behavior is not reproducible. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Anyone out there have the same problem? Is this a configuration problem or may be a hardware defect? It is already a known issue?

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Karl Jost

    Hi Karl

It is not easy to say, but it is possible that there is some malfunction of the equipment. In my opinion the last try to check this is to reinstall the operating system. If the problem persists there are certainly a hardware problem.

    Hi Polaristool,

You can not edit and add multimedia player for the power settings do not to turn off the screen while playing and watch the movie.

You must define tour screen and put the computer to sleep forever or extend the time of action for these parameters in power option.

Access the links below and follow the steps to change the settings of your computer's power options.

  • Features of the power manager and other problems associated with the T510

For the better part of 5 years, I was a happy user of an IBM Z60m and decided it was time to move my z60 to my son and buy a new T510.  Well, I have after several weeks of property I can honestly say I'm irritated and frustrated by several current issues and I'm ready to send back all.

Starting from the moment I pulled it out of the box I was having problems of power management.  I was on Microsoft help forums, called the lenovo support and spent countless hours on blogs and forums looking for help.   No matter what I do in the put lenovo on arrangements to take away my computer goes to stanby after one minute of inactivity and then wonder my windows password.  After a full day to insert my password my frustration level is off the chart.  I removed the password in the settings of the user who has not helped.  I changed the global settings to disable password in stanby mode which did not help.  I changed the function to optimize power and others, but none of it helped.

Beyond these problems... I inserted two different discs to insert new programs and my system kept telling me that he did not read either.  I first thought they were zero but my old laptop ibm read without problem.

    So there you have it.

Are you sure that the system is set the mode after 1 minute?  Or is the screen is locked?

    Try this:

    1. right click on the desktop and choose "Customize".

    2. click on "screen saver" in the lower right corner

    3. uncheck the box that says "On Resume, the logon screen"

    Which solves your problem?

  • Power Manager profiles 1.52 error (add)

    Hello

about a week I have been faced with a problem with the Power Manager (after that I tried the last updated - wait until May)

I can't add or set any profile.

I found a few solutions here: http://chris.brandlehner.at/Brandlehner/cab_blog.nsf/d6plinks/CBRR-6YWBNV but it has not worked for me.

    1. Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies] and delete all dublicated policies. Leaving you with few windows standart policies and few policies created by the Power Manager. Numbers should start from 0.

I deleted all of the strategies

    2. Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies] and do the same thing there.

Here too and then I killed "rundll32.exe" process, then I ran Power Manager-> it adds default profiles to the registry.

    I renamed (0, 1, 2, 3...)

    2. Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg] and set LastID key to the number of the last policy.

    I put the lastID

    But it still doesn't work.

After reboot, I have many other profiles (mostly "empty" or duplicated) in the registry.

I tried to downgrade Power Manager too, but it didn't work.

Maybe there is a problem because I deleted the strategies default system can too, so someone sent me its exported registry keys in:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg

    and

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies

    Thank you very much.

I hope that Lenovo will soon release some fix.

Moderator Note: version number added to the line object for clarity.

    Hello
    Thanks for the reply.
ThinkPad T61, MS Windows XP Pro, Power manager version 1.52

But I have already found a solution.
I deleted all the registry values of:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg

    and

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies

then I restored the default registry keys in these places. I'm bringing work of the WinXP installation from one of my friends.

I guess it can be restored registry of image (VmWare etc.) Virtual PC too.

  • Canvio Connect II power management

I have a Canvio Connect II 3 TB drive and I'm annoyed by the fact he's going into a deep sleep after a few minutes of inactivity, and it takes a lot to wake up to the top. This is my first Toshiba, all my other WD drives drive (Toshiba was the first to release a 3 TB portable 2.5 in car at a decent price), and I have never such a a problem with them, they all last much longer long to fall asleep and wake up much more quickly.

Is it possible to change the settings of this player power management? Preferably something Toshiba itself? Everything I could find on the web are unacceptable "corrections" that writing something on the disc every 4 minutes so he wants to stay or things like that. I would like to have a proper fix. And nothing ever Toshiba, not even an acknowledgement of the problem, which they seem to continue for at least 5 years already.

If this isn't the case, someone knows how can I contact Toshiba support by email? The only option I found on the Web from Toshiba sites is to contact by phone, there is no other methods (such as email or a contact form), which looks very suspicious. I have only seen this sort of behavior with fake Asian companies ' selling ' good products at half price, but actually take your money and disappear. All serious manufacturers should offer several contact options. Although I bought my drive from UK, I do not live in the United Kingdom, and I don't want to spend money on international calls with support from Toshiba to only be thrown from one person to another and probably never received real support.

I am very unhappy with this situation, and if it is is not resolved, it will be the only player Toshiba I'll never own, I'll stick to what I know, works very well in the future.

Hi, same problem here with my two hard Toshiba USB drives (Stor.e Canvio 3.5 "Desktop, 2 TB + 4 to). I searched all over the internet, came to exactly the same conclusion as you: many 'solutions' with third party software which works only during the session or on the same system, so the same problem could reappear as soon as you connect your HD to a different device, re-install the operating system or whatever. Here is a quote from another thread in this forum that says it all:

Thank you for your recent inquiry to the subject of your hard drive Toshiba Canvio.

We can confirm that there is no firmware downloads available for Toshiba external hard drives. (Energy saving) nature of use of the disc is because of the way it was built. Therefore, we can confirm that it is not editable.

all better than toshiba support can solve this problem

    Post edited by: amk316

Thus, it seems that Toshiba support won't help. I doubt that the problem is really "because of the way it was built', i.e.: caused by the material itself. or at least, I doubt that, even if that's the case, it can't be fixed by providing a new firmware. I guess that Toshiba DOES simply not invest time and money to solve the problem. Accordingly, like you, I never by a hard Toshiba will lead again if they don't change this attitude. Good luck anyway!

  • Overheating and crash on the A60 - 122 power management

Sorry for the bad English - my native language is Russian.
    I have a few problems:

#1 when I run any graphical application lasts (as any games full screen)-I get a trouble - front near the screen becomes very hot - I think it's a video card problem, because I saw this sentence only at games or use Photoshop. How can I solve this? Have Satellite A60 - 122 functions q - fan (like ASUS motherboards) and how do I access it?

Utility power management #2 - hangs at each performance of the OS and crashes when you try to uninstall.
What can recommend you on these issues?

    Thanks for all the answers.

    Kind regards
    Alex.

    Hello

#1 with this number you can do anything. If it's really hot, you can call service toshiba partner and ask if it would be useful to analyze the material.

#2 you tried to install the new management tool of power 'on' non-functional existing power management. It may be that the new installation fix the existing!

    Good bye
