T61p - new HDD - size?

I think that the plant only 160 GB HDD out crapped on me. If I can get it back or not, I ran out of space and want to upgrade.

I bought a SATA 320 GB Seagate hard drive. Before I opened the package, I want to assure you that this size hard disk is compatible with my T61p.

During the construction of my laptop, I remember there are several options for the size of the HD and I chose the 160 GB, but knowing the largest was available.

Thus, the 320 will work with my T61p? Or I have to step down for a 250 GB?

Thank you.

Information on the IBM Web site are severely outdated, as usual.

You can throw in 500GB in a T61/p and he will love it, no questions asked.

My last T61p came with a 200 GB / 7200 RPM of Lenovo's...

I hope this helps.

I was wondering if you wonderful people out there can help me by answering my questions:

    1. is there a limit on the size of the HARD drive that my ' 4320 Pro can take, if there is a limit (for example, 10 GB) so can I upgrade the BIOS to allow for a more generous size (say 40-80 GB)?

    Hi Stu,

In response to your questions: -.

    1. most computers manufactured since the end of the 1990s can accommodate the larger discs, I found several supplies citing disks > 40 GB for your model. Any restrictions imposed by your BIOS could be corrected.

    2. remove the HARD drive is relatively simple and will generally involve nothing undo more than a few screws. Most hard disks are held in a caddy of some kinds and this will have to be transferred to your new drive. You must locate your current HARD drive (it must be under a Panel on the side or your laptop. Note that some models locate the HARD disk in the optical drive, so you may need to remove this first.

3 hard drives usually come in two sizes, 2.5 "and 3.5", this refers to the width of the player. the real depth is largely irrelevant, since it will be held in a caddy. You certainly should not wrap the reader with the foam.

    4. I replaced my drive HARD original with an 80 GB version. The process took less than 10 minutes, and then I just rebuilt my system from the product recovery discs before restoring my data on a backup CD.

    Thank you

You can buy new HARD drive in every store of the computer. What you need is 2.5 "SATA HDD.
In my opinion you should now reflect on the upgrade and buy SSD that will offer more performance and make your laptop run much faster than before.

  • Cloned new HDD for Pavilion 1210.uk does not start

I am new to the forum so Hi everyone.

I just installed a new HDD (SATA) to my office. BIOS identiified unit correctly and I cloned using HDClone software. He succeeded with 0 read and write errors. All files are accessed through drive letter access. So far so good, I thought. I then tried to boot from the disc again by changing the BIOS boot order. Hoewver, when the trunk begins with the new PC HARD drive crashes with a white/black screen with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner. It is the logo of Microsoft and o/s linen starts (XP).

    Some additional information:

    * Old HARD drive still boots without problem with or without the new drive.

    * I changed the transfer rate of 3.0 GB to 1.5 GB being the SATA 2 drive. That made no difference, then changed back.

I don't know what is wrong, someone has also experienced this or knows what is the problem?

    Thanks for reading.

The cloned system was not built with PATA and SATA drivers.  This could be the problem. You still get the blinking cursor?  You can send an email to technical support HDClone and ask of PATA, SATA problem of cloning.

Does anyone have an idea where I could find this text file in a folder of presets?

There is a file named "new formats Doc. PSP"on my Mac. '" Save preset... «in dialogue ' file > new...» "stores care doc custom in this file.

    /Users/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS6 settings/new Doc Sizes.psp

  • "The new page size is too small": how?

The width of the page in my book was 4,125 "with 0.25" margins on the sides. The title pages of each section have tabs to purge, and I needed to increase the size of the page to remove a text which was on the tabs, but off the page. I increased the width of the page 6 "and deleted text, but now I can't change to 4,125" wide. FM said: "new page size is too small for some custom column layouts. Why? It was 4,125 "before...

I checked my master pages, and there are no pages that have columns that are too wide for one page 4,125 ". None of the text boxes exceeds 3.625 ".

Sometimes I can bypass this message by reducing the width of page in smaller increments, but in this case the message happens even if I reduce the width to 5.99 ". I also tried to decrease all the text boxes to 3.5 "but get the same message.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Tami

What specific version of FM (help > about) and o/s?

I often met this already too, in all versions of FM. It seems that there is some routine check who comes in is that after we resize the pages and it won't let go.

You mention the title pages have tabs to purge, but you did not say specifically, is to know if the text off page is serving on a page of the body or on a master page?

When you deleted the text in the tab, you also remove the frame, the text was? If this isn't the case, it's probably what FM complains, because he "knows" now on the block of text off-page.

I'm racking my brain to remember what solutions I found...

  • New HDD for Dell Latitude C840 - Max size, type, spec?

Q1 I just bought a Dell Latitude C840 ex-entreprise less his hard drive. I intend to install a drive between 160 to 250 GB. However, I read on another forum that there is a (Bios? NBA?) up to 120 Gb limitation? This raises a few questions: -.

1 if I install a 160 GB drive it will work, but is not counted as 120 G?

2 is their a flash Bios upgrade (or current parameter change) to

    permit more 120 GB drives?

Q2  I'm assuming that an IDE / ATA disk would be compatible. How about SATA?

Are there other issues should I be aware of?

  • Satellite P10 - 792 HDD size instead of 60 GB 27 GB?

Just unpacked and spent last week, install my P10-792 and now (...) I noticed that the C drive is only 27 GB while the drive itself is about 60 GB. There is a volume without the name of about the same size (27 GB).
In the FAQ, I found a cure for the resizing partitions using the restore CD, but it probably means reinstalling all over the entire machine.
Please help me. I would use all of the disk and not just half of it.

    Thank you, Stephan

    Hi Stephan,

information to your new Latop, beautiful machine! :-)

I think you have the factory installed OS on the machine and you might see in Solution Explorer that the C partition is ony 27 GB and space without a name like unformated?

    There are 2 solutions

    1. If you like partitioning with 2 x 27 GB you can click on the unpartitioned space and format it with the right mouse click-format. Then you have a "C" and "D" partition on your laptop

    2. the alternatives, it is that you want another partition, you must use the Toshiba Recovery CD and do a reinstall with the Expert Mode. There you can set the size and the number of partitions.
or you install 3rd party software like Partition Magic and set up the partitions on a running windows system!

Tip: There is a 60GB HDD built in, but you have only two partitions of 27 GB on your PC. The result of this is that not 54 GB but 60 GB are built. It is a property of Windows, a gigabyte, 1024 megabytes.

  • Need new HDD for Satellite A110-178

    Hello people,

Anyone know where I can order/buy a new internal hard drive for my laptop cause my hard drive died.

    Greetz

    Hi friend

of course, the internet offers a wide range of hard disk drives. You have to do is check google and type something like "2.5 inches HDD SATA" or «SATA HDD laptop»

For some reason, you can check for example ebay and search there for SATA hard drive, which is integrated in laptops (the height of the car shouldn´t be more than 9.5 mm).
It s just important that you're looking for SATA and IDE not. Any other topic doesn´t. Oh, I'm not sure what the maximum size of HDD machine can take, toshiba says something about 120GB, but you will have to prove by yourself if the machine may take longer.

    Welcome them

I just realized that I have two HDD on my model, both sizes are 232 GB.

  • New HDD for Dim 9200

After 6 years faithful my 250 GB HARD drive makes weird noises. Before take a complete dump, I want to install a new one. I have a bigger, only comparable HARD disk. Not sure if there is always a 250 GB there. What is the correct procedure to install a new drive HARD boot-able with Dell reinstall WinXP pro sp2 disk. I read somewhere that the new HARD disk must be the same size, cache etc. I don't want to purchase a full retail version of XP, it is a spare office that I still use.

    Dimension 9200 E6600 2.4 GHz 4 GB DDR2 sdram @ 533 MHZ 4x1Go
250 GB SATA II Samsung spinpoint drive HARD 8 MB cache 7200 RPM
Win XP Pro 32 bit OEM Dell

If you have the labeled Dell reinstall Windows XP Pro drive, you already have the full version of this OS and it is not necessary to buy a new.  Dell has a page of links that guide you toward the restoration of your operating system here: Restoring or reinstalling Windows on a Dell computer.  You must use the fourth step, manual reinstallation, for a blank hard drive.  For a lot of additional information, you can also check the paper by forum member natakuc4, install clean windows.

Restore a computer from scratch is a good thing for me, but it requires two to six hours to complete, depending on the number of requests and the amount of data, you need to restore.  Account, you may want to consider an application that allows you to clone your current drive to a new one.  Acronis True Image is one of those programs that must be purchased.  Depending on the brand of HDD, you buy, you may be able to download a free version of that or a similar, program.  Seagate and Western Digital have also a free version.  I am not sure about the features of the free version, but I know from experience that the commercial version of Acronis can adapt the present partition on your current hard drive to a larger partition on a new hard drive.  Cloning a disk usually requires less than 30 minutes, and the only thing you have to watch is to delete your old disk of the computer before you start the player cloned for the first time.  It avoids confusion on the drive letter assignment.  If you have a card reader, you must also disconnect it or turn it off in the configuration of the system before page starting in the new disk.

  • Do need me an adapter for the new HDD in Tecra T9100?

I try to install a new hard drive (Toshiba 456 X3I89209S S/N this.) A, 40 GB). Need me an adapter or a framework for that?
The HARD drive has no adapter, just the usual PATA pins.

Your new HARD drive is a 2.5 or 3.5?
Only 2.5 hard drives will fit in a laptop.

However, you need a HARD drive connector to use the HARD drive in the laptop.
But if you remove the old HDD there is already such a connector. Remove this connector and put it to the new.
That s all and then you can use it.
